Dude this has to be one of the best clutch kicking tutorial videos out there. I still clicked on the video to watch it even though i know how to clutch kick cuz i knew i’d learn something new, and i did! Very well done. Interesting to learn that clutch kicking is best applied on constant radius / extending turns especially when at low speed and is considered an acceleration based drift entry!
Thank you, this one is the “gist” for people who don’t want to spend a long time on it but still want the good info...I’m working on a detailed breakdown to send people to if they want to really get into the specifics and learn how to adjust their technique to tweak the cars behavior through each phase of the corner 👌🏻
sick video, i started drifting a couple months ago after watching ur videos and getting assetto corsa. i decided to grab a g29 and have been hooked ever since, even though i know how to drift, your videos are still great to watch keep up the good work man!
I think CT may have gotten motivated to make drift tutorials from my old ones, like th-cam.com/video/r5p-BSyVRNk/w-d-xo.html We tandem in AC together now and then, I’m looking forward to him getting more seat time in his IRL car 👍🏻
This whole time the past week ive been clutching it ripping the evrake then going on throttle, which it probably why i would just spin out and not have enough power to keep going
I'm just learning manual on the togue servers now. How do you clutch kick after a long straight? I struggle to know what speed to start the drift. Sometimes I'm too fast and hit the barriers. Other times I drift too early into a bush.
It’s not about entry drift, but when I exit one, I often clutch kick twice rapidly instead of one long clutch kick. I feel like it gets me faster in high rpm and prevents the car to straighten up. Is it just me or an actual technique ?
Awesome, I’m glad to hear that! I was going to make more but my wheel broke 😢 I just got it fixed today and will be driving again for the first time in a while so I hope to continue this series soon😅😅😅

Like drifting with a sequential transmission where you have a shift knob but you don’t clutch? It’s not super common for most people on “normal” budgets but it’s totally doable. It wouldn’t feel natural to me, but cutting out the left foot’s job for clutching wouldn’t be a hard change to me for me ✌🏻
Clutch kicks work based on adding power to the rear wheels, which *push* the car into a spin. Adding power to the front wheel would not *pull* the car into a spin and most likely would result in neutral grip at best and extreme understeer at worst. So no, acceleration based techniques like clutch kicks generally aren’t the way to slide a FWD. You’d want to look into deceleration-based techniques like handbrake entry, foot brake entry (assuming the alignment biases the car to neutral handling or oversteer) This is the reason FWDs can only slide for so long-they generally have to do it by dragging the rear tires and slowing down, as opposed to RWD which can *add* power to the rear tires and maintain speed (or actually speed up) I may or may not have done some handbrake and tray drifting back in the day when an FWD was all I had access to 😆
Sure it would! The physics are the same for any RWD car with a locking diff, that doesn’t have traction control preventing it. That said, each car has its own power/traction ratio so it’s possible that at low HP it may only work in rain, etc. Your best bet for low power is to run stock alloys on the rear with a skinny, low grip all season tire at 50+ PSI of tire pressure, so the engine can do as much as possible!
It puts some strain on the driveline, the amount depends mainly on the tire traction. Sticky tires put more stress on the transmission, diff, and axles than less grippy ones. Plenty of people drift and do clutch kicks, even the stock clutch can last for a while, but anyone who gets into drifting has to accept that all of the drivetrain becomes a wear item eventually.

It makes sense when you think about it honestly

you're one of the very underrated youtubers i know !
Keep up the good work bro!
Thanks!
Can you make a video on how to adjust drift lines🥺?
Love your videos! My son rode with you last weekend. We are hooked on drifting now. Working on the d21 right now, getting it ready.
Yeah, I’m glad I was able to show you all a good time at the event 🙌🏻
Best of luck on the d21!
As always Ben great video and you are very compassionate about your driving along with teaching others. Well done my friend!
Thank you!
Dude knows what he's talking about.

That’s good to hear! Even once you can do the moves there’s often more to learn, glad I can provide some value!
Have you set your LUT file and all those things? It helped me alot catching the drifts on the logitech devices
holy shit this competes with CToretto's golden standard tutorials

first and you make amazing content keep going you really helpd me :)
Thank you so much! Honestly, I had a slow winter in terms of uploads but am committed to adding a lot of value for everyone again this year! 🙏🏻
This whole time the past week ive been clutching it ripping the evrake then going on throttle, which it probably why i would just spin out and not have enough power to keep going
Thanks a lot. The first video that helped me drift.
Awesome. Great explanation! Thanks

your videos are the best
Thanks! Now to work on the detailed clutch kick video to follow this one up 💪🏻
Love the content keep up the extremely great work
Thank you! 🙌🏻

Starting off in a 2000 BMW 323 convertible
170hp 3500lbs, yeah she needs a pretty hefty clutch kick haha
This was really helpful, thanks!

thank you for your knowledge
Sure thing, happy to help!

Fantastic as ever mate, very clear, concise and thumbs up for the shorter videos!! You will hopefully get more views and grow your audience.. 😎
If I provide value and package them well, haha 👌🏻
@@KameTrick if you build it, they will come 😇
Hey, not sure if you ever talked about it, but what's your opinion on the Gravy Garage car pack?
Can i drift without clutch but using manual stick and handbreak? Do you think drifting feel natural doing that way?
Like drifting with a sequential transmission where you have a shift knob but you don’t clutch? It’s not super common for most people on “normal” budgets but it’s totally doable.

Practice, practice, practice...
can you do this in a front wheel drive car
Clutch kicks work based on adding power to the rear wheels, which *push* the car into a spin. Adding power to the front wheel would not *pull* the car into a spin and most likely would result in neutral grip at best and extreme understeer at worst.

Is the car stock or not ?
I like the technique but isnt it deadly for the clutch?
Possibly on a lighter clutch but it’s a technique that’s even used by FD drivers, but it is a consumable item in competition
Could this work with a series 1 136 hp 2015?with traction control off?
Sure it would! The physics are the same for any RWD car with a locking diff, that doesn’t have traction control preventing it. That said, each car has its own power/traction ratio so it’s possible that at low HP it may only work in rain, etc. Your best bet for low power is to run stock alloys on the rear with a skinny, low grip all season tire at 50+ PSI of tire pressure, so the engine can do as much as possible!
@@KameTrick thank you sir
Does this apply the same like- irl-?
Yeah, it sure does. AC is a solid training option for building skills to take to the track IRL 👏🏻
Whats game its it its it Drift Hunters ?
does clutch kicks hurt the trany

His face jumpscared me
Never even considered virtual drifting hahaha, ok time to go out and buy a race kit. What is the game tho?
