Clutch kick is my favourite technique to initiate drifting back in the day when my car was NA, now when it turbo i realise i can just full throttle on corner started to drifting, maybe a little bit handbrake. So much fun to drive RWD cars. A lot of technique we can learn.
@@HaugenRacing speed and angle are the hardest thing to control when you're doing a tandem in CarX drift racing 2. like your car needs to have enough power but if it's too much you have to switch gears but it might be better to adjust gears so each one gives you the desired power and that's really hard
@@HaugenRacing also in that game you can adjust the tightening and the retraction of the front and rear wheels, i dont get what that means or is. is it used in real drifting ?
I can’t wait to try this on the next Hertz car I get. Haha, seriously though, when I first got my license, I had a beater car with less than 80 hp but a 5 speed! I used to do this all the time to get a ‘boost’ in power! It actually worked and the only reason I didn’t destroy this car, was because it was a a 1984 Honda Accord!
I'm glad u said not to have it a full throttle and showed how not to slam on the clutch bc that's exactly what I was going to do, u saved me and my car 😂

Matt i have a sugestion of a cool thing you could add to the sim,buy a motion rig,It will be more realistic and cool to play,it would be like the G-forces
@@HaugenRacing oh yeah, makes sense, but you will get used to the sim, it's easier for a sim driver to get used to an irl car,but harder for a irl driver get used to the sim
It more so depends on rpm's and your power band tbh. Like you can be in 2nd and as long as your not banging re limiter you can clutch kick all day. Sometimes you can be in third and just be wayyyy down low in the power band like 2/3 hundred rpms which might make it a tough. Kinda depends on rpms, speed, type of corner, all that.
Its funny, sinc ei learned to drift in auto i knkw all the techniques except this lol. I find this one so tricky to get but in my 240 ive found u just kick it right as ur starting the turn not half way not just before
Can you please make vids of what the deference is between like normal drift rules and fd rules ..and any other drift styles/rules and explain what it means . And what makes it harder Like if i try to do the Tandem drift in Carx but keep getting correction.I can not figure out how not to get that
Carx is a little weird with the physics on it. Like their "straighten" rules and stuff are a little touchy. We can definitely expand on it though in a vid!
Hey Matt, question: ive never drifted before but am currently building a drift car because it didnt put out enough power with stock engine so im doing an engine swap, is this a good way to learn drifting with a motor that makes much more power than the previous? Also, love the tutorial videos! Thank you
Yes and no! Power does change a ton of the techniques and ways of drifting the more you add. Low power is a litttllleee more technical vs. something with a ton of power that you can just lay down the throttle and get sideways. Not saying one is better than the other just it'll change up your techniques and form.
For all my virtual drifters out there, this same technique is super important on sim and video game drifting too!
Im 11 an i know how to dtive a sim=cluch, manual shifter
Can you play drift 21

Yeah when you add more power it does change a ton on what techniques you can use! Speed and angle can also be affected!
