I prefer better battery life over faster charging. In both my home and job I have access to a charger if I need it. A better battery life i can stay longer without needing to recharge, also less recharging means less stress on the battery and less battery degradation over time.

Honestly this problem can simply fixed by a toggle to turn on/off the fast charging, which is already there in samsung, but samsung doesn't have crazy fast charging, i don't know about other phone manufacturer. You don't need to fast charge every time, but its still great feature to use when you forget to charge, and you're in hurry

"who cares about fast charging if you charge overnight?"
To not let it overcharge, it's healthier to charge ur phone to 80 90 percent not to 100 so u can just leave ur phone not charging overnight and just charge it in the morning for 20 30 mins and get enough battery, and besides, it's not bad at all to have especially if the phone is preventing overheating very well

The iPhone has just an incredible battery life. It is absolutely amazing and idk how iPhone is doing that. The battery charging is a bit slower but that is due to Apple's decision to preserve the battery health of the device. As we can clearly see the iPhone can charge to 80% in just 1 hour meaning it can last basically 2 days on normal usage. So it is pretty fast

Well even in Oneplus it goes with your alarm. It charge to 80% and then continue when the alarm is getting closer. By this the battery wont overcharge. Also it has 2 separate batteries so the power wont degrade the battery as fast as charging one cell with such a power.

    • @bAssisTowo

And Iphone did that with just around 4300mah, 7,7mm thickness. While s21 ultra is 5000 and 8,9mm thickness and battery life still worse. With iphone battery life, I already go more than 1 day, actually I always charge my phone overnight and iphone have optimization for that, I think its good enough to not use fast charge which gradually kill our battery. If I have difficult day and I need to charge my phone on the go, I have Apple battery pack, just stick it to the iphone via magsafe and thats it, I even dont need to be near any charging cable.

i think its very debatable to prefer either fast charging or longevity. I am a sucker for fast charging because its very convenient in situations of hurry, like topping up just before going to the office. Maybe because i am not a heavy user therefore i am able to make it through the day with around 10-15% with my oneplus 9. But its impressive to see what apple is able to do through their software optimization to prolong battery life and i think it very evident in real usage. But speaking of battery health i am very doubtful of that because i had to change my iphone 7 battery twice from apple service centres and boy they aren't cheap. After that experience i shifted to android starting with my oneplus 5t which had amazing battery life, coupled with fast charging was a cherry on top. I just had to charge just before to office and easily end up with more 25%. All i am trying to say is to have a balance between fast charging and battery life. I had my eyes on the iphone 11 but the transition from 7 to 11pro wasnt drastic in terms of experience except ofcourse the cameras whereas it was tangible from onplus 5t to 9. I am saying this because my parents own iphone 11 pros. I am not trying to degrade any company here, i mean come on, apple is a trillion dollar company for a reason, but i rather look through the hype. Well this was my personal experience. Apple still creates amazing products but its time to get more innovative.

Most people who say that rarely ever think about practical, real world scenarios. Electricity is everywhere, only TIME is limited. I never, ever had a problem with not being able to find a power outlet. But I've had problem with not having time to charge. Say, you have an iPhone at 10% left, and your friend asks you to join a mobile gaming session with them, do you:
      A. Tell them to wait TWO FUCKING HOURS,
or B. Charge as you play and degrade the battery 10 times as fast?
Because with the fast charging, by the time everybody joined the match, you'd probably at 80% by then. This goes on for when you need to leave the house urgently, or...basically any scenarios where you don't have time to wait for something to charge. It's easy to lay on bed and think "oh longer battery is better because less charging" when you don't have a life. People who have shit to do, will pay any price for every single second they can save.
Also, let's do some maths. iPhone: 2 hours charging, 12 hours of use. OnePlus: 30 minutes charging, 7 hours of use. You do the math. Imagine how much time you'd save.

Sony, looks like they have given up optimising that, a sub-par battery performance, half hat the iPhone did with a similar size battery! That is a deal breaker for most consumers as it is possibly indicative of a poor software package. Not sure Sony will be joining LG in 2022 but the clock is ticking.
Seen tests with the s21U SD888 and that obviously did a lot better than the Exynos, which is one of the worst flagship chips. Incredible that with a 15% larger battery the S21U was dead and the iPhone still had 30% left! Lots of Android fans thought the A15 would be a minor upgrade, but Apple has really made it substantial with a massive GPU upgrade, and OLED CPU but with far superior efficiency, having 50% more cache in the little cores and twice as much in the big cores compared to the SD888. With maybe 3nm coming next year, and that will bring massive efficiency, Qualcomm has a lot to do? The OP9P was what I call the average, Sony well below, S21U just above average and iPhone killing it!

Anyone with sense knows charging a phone battery this fast generates too much heat which degrades the battery quicker this is why apple doesn’t charge extremely fast. Fast charging does more harm than good

    • @curtisredl8785
      @curtisredl8785 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Exactly. There’s a direct relationship between current into and out of a lithium battery and degradation of the battery compounds. Fast charging or discharging is hard on batteries. So is charging them to 100% (which is why electric vehicles never charge to 100% and the battery is larger than the usable capacity). Charging at higher current when they battery is almost fully charged is also much worse than when it’s discharged.
Bottom line: Companies claiming they can fast charge without degrading the battery are lying. They can’t change the laws of physics.

@@byronbarnett1340 Actually I use both, I'm a developer. So I have most android devices to come out in the last 5 years and all iPhones from the last 5y because i have to test my software. You assume a lot and also write in a very ignorant and dismissive manner. The turth is statistically people will change their phone every 2-3 years, as the majority of people have 2 years contracts, some change straight away others wait a bit.
Not to mention that quick charge doesn't damage the battery, heat damages the battery. Plus there is software on everry phone that restricts the charging power when the phone gets above a certain %. So from a utility prespective atleast for myself, havng fast charge is better. Even if all the software fails and reduces my battery life, the upside of having unlimited battery, by charging it for 20m every couple of hours..still feels better for me. Now thats not for every one, some prefer the longer battery and thats fine. Each to their own.
However, maybe dont assume shit all the time like who is or isn't an android user and dont assume that you understand some one just becaue of their prefered phone operating system. LIke assuming that only android users will talk in a certain way or that just because something charges fast it will automatically generate heat...The oneplus runs pretty cool.

Personally for me, a headphone jack and SD card are non negotiable features and it's nice to have a full screen experience. 6hrs is awesome. I don't get what needs to be done on a phone that half a person's day is spent on it. That's actually very unhealthy for one day.
