Right then, let's talk about mist. Ordinarily i'd say that mist and fog are joint first for coolest weather but not if there are giant prehistoric bugs and weird giant crab things! I really enjoyed this movie, it was so tense i couldn't look away. I was so invested! Oh, and that ending... bloody hell, i didn't expect it to finish like that!

The balls it took for Frank Darabont to change Steven King’s ending to undoubtedly the bleakest ending of all time is incredible. I love this movie.
I had no idea there was a different ending to what Stephen King had originally laid out, i'm gonna check this out right now!
@@JackWillReact Stephen King himself PRAISED this ending and claimed he wished he thought of it himself. I think I remember him kinda begging audiences not to spoil it for others. He was THAT fond of it.
I liked this movie, but NOT the ending, after all they went through, to have it end like THAT...
@@chrisrobinson3494impatience and fear can be as deadly as the threat that’s the lesson here
@@ChefNourhan I agree, the psychotic behavior of the followers of Mrs. carmody, was was just as frightening/deadly as ANYTHING in the mist.
51:08 "hit the like and subscribe button as fast as david hit the trigger" my jaw dropped
I’ve never been so dead inside after finishing a movie😢
Such a heavy ending wasn't it! I really wasn't expecting it to take that route
You can't have ever seen terminator 3 then 😂
@@theobserver2267 nope🤷🏻♀️😂
IDK how y'all managed to make THIS movie funny but I cried laughing!
Ah i'm really glad to hear you enjoyed it! 😂 Hear me out on that electric fan idea though, could have been a completely different outcome!
One of the most devastating endings in a film ever, my god lol. Loved this reaction!
I really thought Mr Norton was gonna show up at the end for that happily ever after, really didn't expect the ending!
Love that you and Dan basically guessed the ending between the two of you 😂
I just really didn't expect the ending to be that dark! Why didn't David just wait a little longer!
i know right?!! i was gonna say the same thing!! fantastic job mates!! where are you from? i freaking love your attractive accents!!
The people who are saying he should have waited don't understand that they were driving for hours and there was no end to the mist. Once they ran out of gas, they were doomed since there was no gas station or, if there was one, they couldn't get out of the car to pump the gas. If he had five bullets, he would have shot himself too. It looked hopeless and he did not want them to suffer a fate worse than death with those creatures. All the people in the car nodded their heads for him to do it. It's sad all the way around.
But, if something would have happened to stall being shot another thirty seconds... Would anything have changed? That's what I like to speculate on!
@RealBradMiller Some say no because whatever was inside the church lady made her "prophecies" what would happen. So when she said sacrificing the kid would mean the end of the mist, she was right. So if the kid stayed alive, so would the mist. If you rewatch the movie, you can see that anytime she'd speak of what was going to happen, it would come true. And scared people flocked to her giving her more power and power to whatever was controlling her.
Whenever you see other people being stupid in a movie (Mrs. Carmody, Brent Norton the lawyer, Jim the employee), even if their stupidity is just bravado or intellectualism or piety in a vain attempt to assuage their own fear, you naturally identify with whoever's being sensible. David is an odd choice for a "main character" - he's just an illustrator, not a doctor or cop or hunter or anyone useful in an apocalypse situation - but people look to him because he's sensible. That conceit is exposed by the resolution of the movie, however; remember when Dale/Jeffrey DeMunn's character said, "You scare people badly enough, you can get 'em to do anything They'll turn to whoever promises a solution"? The irony is, when he himself, David, Andrea and that other old lady see that they're out of gas in the mist, what do they do? In retrospect, the worst thing they could have possibly done, even if it seemed sensible at the time. So the "moral of the story" (which I credit Darabont with, not King) isn't "never lose hope" or that Mrs. Carmody was right (another hot take I've read over the years); the escapees in that car were no better than Mrs. Carmody or Horton or Jim. Their sensibility did not protect them from letting their fears make a bad decision appear like a good one. And that is why the ending is so bleak- anyone, even "main characters" can roll the dice and lose against an indifferent, hostile universe.
At the begining he was painting the cover of "The Dark Tower" another King book and movie
The picture he was painting at the beginning is one of my favorite King characters, Roland Deschain, "The Gunslinger" from Stephen King's Dark Tower book series.
Been waiting in anticipation for your next drop!! Great reacts as always 🤩
You guys have such an awesome and kind sense of humour😊 I found that I was laughing with you, that’s incredible lol.
You guys are absolutely adorable and a blast to watch. Keep ‘em coming.
I'm crying at the way you slurped that chocolate into your throat 😂 I would also be totally supportive of the fan suit you'd make in the situation, brilliant idea😂 If you haven't seen it, would love to see you two react to Dead Silence!
this is my new favorite way to watch scary movies. your guys commentary is hilarious!
Another great reaction! Love your commentary and banter. Cant believe Dan called the ending! Can't wait for the next vid.
Thank you for the kind comments mate! 😊 I know, i can't believe Dan called it! I was certain Mr Norton was gonna swoop in and save everyone at the end! Alternate ending? 😅
huge FAN of you bothhh 😁 need a bunch more reaction videos please….
Haha, i see what you did there 😂 love to hear that you enjoyed the video mate!
Possibly one of the greatest endings for a movie ever
Great reaction as always guys, can’t wait for future videos!
Thanks so much mate, really glad to have you here!
Warning sirens like that are NOT uncommon, even in small towns. We had one in my town that had 3000 people in it. Mostly for Tornados, but any warning could be alerted this way
Love your guys commentary and banter, always entertaining
Ah thanks mate! Glad you were able to check out the new video 😊
@JackWillReact the ending was actually changed from the book and Stephen King has even said he liked the movie ending better
I liked this movie, and your reactions, but HATED the way it ended, after all they went through, to have it end like THAT...
omg me too!! so hilarious and so funny!! always brings a smile to my face and brightens my day!!!
Awesome reaction. I was entertained from start to finish plus it's my first time viewing your work. Instant like 👍🏾 👌🏾
Thank you so much mate, really glad to hear you enjoyed it! 😊
This has the saddest most heart wrenching ending of any movie I had ever seen. 😭
This was my favorite movie as a kid! I had the mist and Monster house on loop
Monster House is a legit excellent movie. My little yellow house is gonna be dressed up as it for Halloween this year!! Broken terracotta pots for teeth, pink pool noodle made to look like a brain in the attic window, LED candles to look like eyes in the windows, and anything else I can think of before then! 🥂
1:50 legit laughed so hard i tought i was having a stroke.
Love the reaction. Heres the sub, and to many more vids to watch!
Thanks so much mate, glad to have you here!
Wish version of Iron Man! LMAO! Poor Irene. Dude that was the worst ending ever. Great reaction from you guys as always! Kept me laughing!
Iron man on a budget 😅 Irene was my favourite character in this, heartbroken over what happened! Glad you enjoyed it, appreciate you Nick!
He promised his son he would not let the creatures get him. That was the driving force for his final decision, I believe.
The intro chocolate... wow. Crying rn. XD
The painting at the start is Roland, the gunslinger from the Dark Tower series by King.
I'm enjoying the dynamic you guys have, lots of fun. I watched this movie years ago and it really ramps up the tension as the shoppers slowly lose their thin veneer of civility. There is a real sense of menace. Fear can make us do terrible things. It leaves you wondering who are the monsters. Some great character acting too. The ending left me gutted, imagine having to make that choice. I'm working my way through your other reactions and look forward to more in the future.
Just found your channel and love the content, but when are we going to get a proper second computer chair for Dan?
Really glad to hear that you're enjoying the content! Haha, there's gonna be another video with this chair, but after that i'll grab him another chair!
Not sure if it's been mentioned in the comments yet or not, but there's a black & white version of this film, which I prefer. It hides the dated CGI well & gives the film more of a 1950's sci-fi B-movie feel to it.
I hope these "as we go" helps
1. In context it is similar to what King did with "The Stand", except in this case it's monsters and not a virus.
2. Jeffery DeMunn is known as a favorite of director Frank Darabont, who has cast him in all four of his films: "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994), "The Green Mile" (1999), and "The Mist" (2007). All King adaptations. He was also in what King himself says "Storm of the Century" was such a good screenplay that he adapted into a book.
3. William Sadler also was in "Shawshank" and "The Green Mile".
4. Frances Sternhagen was in "Misery" by King.
5. Marcia Gay Harden kills it.
6.King wanted to play the big guy that goes out with the rope around his waist "brass balls" but Darabont shot him down.
7. This is not how the book ends. Darabont wanted this ending. King later said that as horrific that it is he likes it better. What makes this ending more devastating is he has to live with it the rest of his life 🥵
8. The picture of the cowboy is an Easter egg from King's "Dark Tower series
9. The cool thing about this story is, since the creatures are from a different dimension, they could be anything.
10. Stephen King. You're welcome.
This was not Steven King’s ending for the book. Darabont changed it to this ending. Steven King said he likes this ending way more than the ending of his book.
Irene, MVP!
30:23 Great prediction! Just a wee bit early though 😜
Jack and Dan are the best! More videos please! Would love to see reactions to "X" because your Pearl vid was excellent! thank you for the entertainment
My friend and I held eachother as we cried at the ending. She knew what would happen but she didn't tell me lol. We both cried.
Doesn't help the dad looks like my own so it hit hard.
haha this was a good reaction!
This is a small town so I think these people already all knew each other.
Yup!
I was never so glad to see a holy roller take a can of peas and a bullet to the noggin!! 😏 Most annoying character ever!! Also fun to see half the cast of The Walking Dead! Love Carol!! 😁
Jack🤣that🤣chocolate 🤣🤣🤣
Jokes aside, the part when they run out of gas is legit beautiful.
they do so much with just looks and silence. and after they understand what the plan is, they all just sit for moment in their own thoughts, looking out the window.
You fellas keep talking about using fans to fly around and clear the mist... But you never thought if it was actually fans that _caused_ the mist. We need dehumidifiers, and we need them now!!
I was also wondering who you were talking about when you said daddy 😂
the man in the black hoodie , u should do acting , cuz ur gaze is deep and ur face is mysteriously expressive :)
Dan is gonna love this! I'll let him know!
@@JackWillReact yes please and talk him into it👑❤
13:30 and I know it's one I hate looking at
The way it just plops at his chest and rips it like some kind of cursed adhesive, not a bite or clutching tearing motion
14:09 that damn moment (wow it looks even worse than I remember)
27:25 NECK BUG
33:09 maybe one small one, but I would assume they'd appear in groups from multiple directions and swarm, not one direction lol
35:12 ah man Daddy's dead here
36:32 oh fuck fuck fuck man I just keep remembering things right beforehand
41:06 it's cut but I'm really glad she at least looked shocked when it escalated to stabbing him
43:45 Come on Irene, oh I swear that
48:12 wait, expect what?
34:34 is so satisfying.

not bomb sirens! that's a good ole US of A tornado siren!
In the book it's described as the town fire whistle.
So, in Hawaii, they were tsunami warnings mowt likely, here in most of the mainland US they are used for tornadoes, and maybe even earthquakes iirc. I lived near one that went off every Wednesday... It was the Wednesday Alarm, apparently.
When they were leaving the supermarket parking lot in David's car... He should have backed it up and broke all the windows
It’s crazy that when he killed “the boy” the mist went away.
The paintings in the beginning were other Stephen King novel/ Movie posters.
45:52. Oh my sweet summer child 😈
Cute couple.
00:14 “We need a really dramatic welcome in to grab them by the balls”
“They may not have balls”
Guys, I’m pretty sure that already by this point in this reaction that ALL your viewers have balls…..
Taking the piss aside, this was a hilarious reaction, great job.
Ok, I read the story a dozen times, but this is only a tiny bit like the original story
1:50 - Bruh. You really are having trouble swallowing things. Try a straw, maybe?
They should have waited and took a nap or he shouldn't have tried to get the gun lol
Team Goodnight Irene.
Can y'all do a reaction to The Exorcist: Believer and the movie the iron claw
Funny you mention zombies. Frank Darabont went on to direct the first season of The Walking Dead and brought several of these actors to the show. The soldier that got sacrificed
even wound up a zombie. Thomas Jane was supposed to be the lead but was already booked when the show was greenlit. So then one of you British came in and stole the job. Stop stealing our jowbs.
Watch Eden lake
My year 11 English teacher recommended Eden Lake to me and it's a movie I'll never forget for sure
@@willithinkthereforeiam it’s one of those movies that stay with you
Have you seen wolf creek
@@Doglover79586 not yet, but I'll definitely check it out! Thanks for the rec!
@@willithinkthereforeiam if you like it, there’s two movies and two seasons on the TV series
hey guys! can you do a video reaction to "Smile" horror movie from 2022?! thank you
Watch the last exorcism or the exorcism of Emily rose
🏳🌈
Guys maybe just shut up and watch the movie and shut up
"Jack reacts" by sitting in expressionless silence. That would be some top tier content.
