- A caving expedition goes horribly wrong, as the explorers become trapped and ultimately pursued by a strange breed of predators.
This was our first time watching The Descent (2005) and this movie was so good! There were some great jumpscares throughout, an awesome cast, and that ending... GAH DAMN! I can also confirm with a great deal of confidence, this is most definitely not a Christmas movie.
Had some problems trying to work around the ol' copyright issues so there are a couple of segments where the movie clips are muted.
I hope you enjoy the video 😊

one of my favorite movies! the jumpscares still get me. I enjoyed your reactions!
Thanks so much for checking out the video! I loved this movie, i need to see Part 2 and see how Sarah settles in with her new neighbours 😅
I love how hard ya both were trying with making the christmas theme work😂😂
With hindsight, I can confirm the movie isn't about Santa descending down our chimneys 😭
@@JackWillReact😂😂
“He’s just standing there, MENACINGLY!”
got me. Good edit.
Also, I think you might also like “The autopsy of Jane doe.”
Not too scary but it’s good for a scary movie.
That little patrick meme felt perfect for that moment when that orc thing was just lurking in the background 😅
And i just checked out The Autopsy of Jane Doe on IMDB and this is a brilliant suggestion, looks right up my street! Thanks for the recommendation!
Its so funny when they insist at first half that this is a christmas movie and later discovered that its actually for Halloween movie 😅😭👌🏻
I can confirm that The Descent is most deinfitely not about Santa descending chimneys at Christmas! 😭😂
I’m glad you guys watched this version. The other version ends at the dead Juno in the vehicle jump scare. This version makes the sequel make sense. They didn’t do as good of a job with the darkness and lighting in the sequel, but it’s not bad.
If you guys want a movie with nothing but jump scares, if you haven’t seen it yet, “Smile” is excellent. If ya want a movie with pucker factor, “Fall” doesn’t disappoint. If you want some good cult movies, Ari Aster’s “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” are ones that provide an uncomfortable and disturbing atmosphere.
Great reaction! Looking forward to more!
Thanks for checking out the video! 😊
I much prefer this ending then by the sounds of it! Sets it up perfectly for the sequel, which i'm hoping will be good, but more often than not sequels struggle to hold up to the original.
Smile, Hereditary and Midsommar are all great recommendations!
"winner gets to sit on santa's lap" was hilarious.
Why watch Home Alone on the holidays when you have this?!?! Love the commitment of trying to make this a Christmas movie.
That scene where Sarah gets stuck takes my anxiety up to 11...then it starts collapsing. Oh HELL no! NEVER leaving the surface of Earth for the rest of my life! LOL! XD
I'm with you on this one, i'm perfectly content just chilling up here on the nice open surface 😅
Fantastic watch--especially the Santa's Grotto bit. Thanks, you guys!
the crawlers were intentionally kept hidden from the other actors so they didn’t know what the monsters looked like until they showed up in the scene also the caves in both movies were giant sets and not actually real caves
I have a lot of feelings about lots of movies and this is one of them so bear with me.
Thank you for acknowledging that Juno wasn't a horrible person for stabbing Beth. She's absolutely still a bad person on an ego trip and being so selfish and not thinking about anyones safety, but I don't blame her for stabbing Beth. That was a horrible accident after being brutally attacked. What we CAN get mad at Juno about is for leaving her to suffer and die alone (To Juno's knowledge), and then lying about it to Sarah. Shock is a huge thing and hurting Beth would have been traumatising, but Juno never came back for her. She kept looking for Sarah, not knowing if she was dead or alive, and she kept fighting to get an already dead Holly away from the creatures, but she never went back for Beth who was very much still alive when she left her. It's a little implied (in my opinion) that Beth may have been the only person to know about Juno and Paul's affair, which would give Juno motive to let that secret die with her. That's the final nail in the coffin in my eyes.
Also, I found out that someone actually made a movie about the Nutty Putty cave incident called 'The Last Descent', which I am avoiding because I will absolutely cry but go for it if you want.
If you feel like other cave and cave-like horror movies, I can vouch for these ones - Sanctum, The Cave, As Above So Below, The Tunnel, 47 Meters Down Uncaged, and The Pyramid
The proper ending!
Nutty Putty caves are 15 miles from me in central utah , we used to go there in youth groups later that dude died in there and he’s still there to this day, caves sealed now. Wild to hear you heard about it over there! Terrifying for his family though, they’ve been traumatized so horribly. New sub and loving the horror vibe here! Good job fellas!
Good reaction, this movie brings out the claustrophobia in most people. For suggestions, try CARRIE (1976) not the remake, or THE MIST (2007) if you haven't seen them.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out the video mate! 😊 Oh I felt that claustrophobia in those tunnels! I've not actually seen either of these suggestions. The Mist looks like it'll be right up my street, consider both on the list! Appreciate it!!
Nooo just found you and I’m already caught up! You two are so funny together. More please! :)
Really glad to hear that you're enjoying the content! 😊 We've got a load of movies planned, just a case of juggling it around work and getting it all edited!
You guys make rewatching movies like this a lot of fun.
One of the best jumpscares in cinema history!
The creatures remind me of the Falmer in Skyrim, which are actually a kind of elf
Excellent reaction boys! Your dynamics and banterare great! Love this movie so much for all the things it doesn't outright tell you like Juno's affair with Sarah's husband and Sarah's PTSD hallucinations. Thelighting is fantastic and the characters are genuine. Looking forward to more from you.
Really kind words there mate, thank you! 😊 I really liked the subtleties, with Juno's affair which completely went over my head. When i was editing it was so obvious i can't believe i missed it!
your christmas commentary mighted helped you feel more jolly about this film lol
Well Christmas trees come from the woods, and they were in the woods. So I guess that counts 🤭🤭🤭. Anyway love the reaction and really enjoyed it. There is a Descent part 2 btw and you guys could actually know what happened. But I got to warn its quite sh*tty though. Haha. Anyway, can I make a request? 😁
Don't forget the reindeer! It could definitely still be a christmas movie... right? 😅 Thanks so much for checking out the video!! Part 2 is definitely on the list, and i guess sequels aren't usually better than the original, but looking forward to it anyway! And of course, we love recommendations!!
@@JackWillReact Haha, yes reindeer too. Ah ok, I would love to request Dolores Claiborne. Its a very underrated movie based on a Stephen King adaptation. The movie is really a masterpiece. Shawshank Redemption is also another good Stephen King movie. And then Vacancy & Salt would be awesomeness.
@@secrets.295 Dolores Claiborne is a masterpiece.
Skedaddle has to be inserted into each video now! Another great video. I am still waiting to see Santa appear.
Haha, ever since watching Pearl that word just keeps popping up everywhere now!
Where have you guys been my whole life?! I immediately subscribed and now I'm bingeing all of your reactions. Great stuff!
Just watched the saltburn reaction an immediately came to this one and subbed. You guys are great
lol appreciate the little edit explaining what devilsitch was cause i had no idea what that meant
also now we gotta remember to recommend more horror movies over holidays that aint halloween/diadelosmuertos y3ni thebay over valentinesday so they say it's a vacation romcom
Just subscribed! Love you guys personality lol! Great reaction! I remember when this first came out and I knew it would be a classic. It took a while for people to catch up to it but now, love seeing any reaction to it on TH-cam. ❤
Thanks so much, really appreciate that! I really didn't expect to like this movie as much as i did. I've heard mixed reviews about part 2, but i NEED to see what happens next! 😂
Found you guys as I was wondering the Tube. You guys are super entertaining and delightful lol. Subscribed! :D
And also, in regard to the Nutty Putty incident in Utah with John Edward Jones, it was actually a bit more horrific than how you described it, as he didn't die waiting for rescue, but well after rescuers were already there, likely thinking he even had a chance. After John got stuck, his brother (who was NOT stuck), did try to wriggle in and free him, but to no avail. His brother went to get help, and returned with an entire rescue team, like 100 people, who attempted to rig up a pulley system to help raise John. But the tunnel was too cramped. What I found interesting, from what I read, was that they claimed he couldn't be moved from his tight position without breaking his legs, and I'm busy thinking, "Okay? So break his legs then!" After knocking him out first, of course. Why it was less preferable to break his legs to attempt EVERY WAY possible to save him than to just have to leave him there, was and still is very baffling to me. But I also read that the cave material was too "soft" anyway to hold the pully in place for too long or something. Which, even then, if it was enough to hold him after breaking his legs to raise him up, couldn't it have worked? We'll never know. Sadly, John gradually was forced to accept his fate and spoke words to indicate as such (I forget what) until he gradually lost consciousness and died from cardiac arrest. The cave was then explosively collapsed to seal him in permanently and to prevent anyone else from entering. Truly tragic, as he was very young and had a wife and young child. 😞
Thanks mate, glad to have you here! 😊 and thanks for the super insightful account on the Nutty Putty incident, a truly tragic one. Was there any reason in particular they wouldn't break his legs to get him out of there or just because the cave material was too soft? Like you say, seems baffling that they wouldn't do this if it got him out of there.
ooooooh i love this movie!
ive watched a lot of reactions to this movie & i think its kinda funny how most men see that interaction in the beginning between juno & paul as weird but dont think too much or they just miss it completely & on the other hand most women reactors clock it instantly lol
Love your insistence there was a Christmas movie in here. And totally oblivious to the start where Juno and Sarah's husband's affair. I enjoy your reactions though I've only watched two. They were both fire! 😂
Now I've gotta watch your playthrough of The Forest 🥰
Ok so this year yall need to watch Krampmus
Panning shots over misty pinewoods will never not remind me of twilight lmao
Love this movie, can't wait for The Descent 2 reacting.😅
Very excited to watch the sequel, i need to know what happens!
I spent the whole reaction thinking that the guy on the right looks like Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Hahaha, I've always wanted to tell him this. But i can't, because of the implication...
@@JackWillReact implication? 👀
We stan a couple reaction 🫶🫶💕🏳️🌈
Even got creeped out on the reaction! Good ass film
reaction was grand but I recommend more violence and nudity y'know
omg after all these years i finally realised why she was smiling when she saw her daughter, it was because she knows shes going to be with her soon.
New sub 🎉 i'm glad u reacted to this version of the movie rather than the US one ...great reaction ...keep it up 🎉goodluck
Really appreciate it! I actually had no idea there was an alternate ending when i fired this up, luckily i got the right one. By the sounds of it the US ending is a bit lacklusture!
Horrendous jump scares, what's a reaction 😂
Fantastic reactions! Would love to see you react to the classic, jump scare movie, Phantasm (1979)!
Is the whole Christmas bit a part of that British humor I always hear about? lol
Hahaha, i'd say 50% british humour 50% my strange humour? 🤷♂️😂
“Piss off! Please, sir!”
Nice 1 boys enjoyed that one.
where is the The Descent 2? 😭
this is the best ending, imo
I skipped ahead a bit at the beggining right to one of them saying "its a christmas movie"...
Say what?! 😂😂😂
Keep it up, boys- you'll be the next Cinema Rules in no time. #Sub86
That's really kind, thanks Pippa! Those guys are great!
yasss
I love the chemistry between you two, makes it more entertaining to watch. But you should check out No One Will Save You (2023) if you haven’t already, I just watched it and I loved it I think you’ll enjoy it.
Ah thanks for the kind comment! I also just checked out No One Will Save You on IMDB and it looks right up my street!
I wonder how many buckets of BBQ sauce they used in the making of this slather-fest
Have y’all seen as above so below? It is the movie reactors tend to gravitate towards after this one for some reason
There are versions where she does get out--
9:49- While the US Forest Service recommends you let ANOTHER PARTY know where you will be, and when you will be back- it is only a recommendation. There are still no requirements today, mostly because of the fact that there are over 51,000 caves in the US. There is no government body that can oversee the allowance of caving for so many different locations. There are warning signs in EVERY cave that has been explored, at every level- but there are still many that haven’t been adequately investigated. Some people love this exploration process, they know that their lives is in their own hands- nobody else’s.
You wouldn’t catch me dead doing any of this, what I call, “white girl shit”. Nope. 😂
Did you guys actually think it was a Christmas movie? I can tell after a bit you guys are joking but at the beginning I was convinced that’s actually what you thought it was
Try to do a reaction to part 2. It s not as good as the first one tho
We're definitely gonna watch it at some point! I find sequels usually struggle to live up to the hype of the first movie, but down to watch it anyway. I need to know what happens next!
Ahh so this is the alternate ending for the European release. The US is different. Sarah makes it out.
I forgot this movie had two different endings. I prefer the other ending. It makes more sense for part 2.
🏳🌈
I lasted 6 minutes watching you when i realized you were trying to act like comedians. First and last time watching you.
Apologies mate, appreciate you stopping by for the 6 minutes though, hope you find what you're looking for
Not every video, nor creator, is for everyone.... There's no need to be rude, especially when their behavior is not out of the norm for movie reactors. Best of luck finding out you can just watch movies alone. 💪🥂
"Come on, lads! Have a day off!" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
