Ford expedition starter bolt removal super simple exactly where to put your hands!!!!

So in this video I’m going to remove the starter out of this Ford F-150 / Ford expedition .The point of the video isn’t necessarily the removal and the installation of the starter because that is pretty much straightforward ..... and if you’re not able to figure out how to get the starter out from this video you probably have no business taking the starter out anyways. But there are three bolts You have to remove and then, you takeoff the two wires you disconnect the starter. The problem with doing the starters in these vehicles it can seem almost impossible to remove the upper bolt. So this video is geared more towards the novice at home Mechanic. Not only do I show you exactly how to get on the two challenge bolts. I show you exactly where to put your arm to remove them. So I hope the video is very helpful God bless and have a great day

Yesterday I was working on 04 expedition 5.4L😒
After spending hours trying to take too bolt out I finally realize what I had to do to access top bolt.
On starter it self there are two 10mm bolts on bottom of the starter
These two bolts are really long they hold starter in one piece.
Start to remove top bolt keep in mind you won’t be able to take it all the way out due to size.
Now start to remove 2 10mm bolt this bolt will slide add the way out.
Now start to wiggle back portion of starter it will fall apart. At this point come back and thank me

Here's how I did an '08 in the street in two hours: I removed the solenoid from the starter with a right angle Phillips screwdriver. Took out the bottom and side bolts with an electric ratchet. Grope around the top for the top 13mm bolt and put a deep socket on it. It's 160 degrees from the bottom bolt. Pop a stubby ratchet handle on the top socket and away you go. Put the new one on with just two bolts like the dealers do who charge $1800 for the job. Use a Chinese part and you'll be doing it again in six months.

Just watched video of starter bolt removal, thought I would share a simple tip to help hold bolt in socket, use small piece of blue shop rag cover socket hole and push bolt into it, works great

No, I don’t think there was any reason for using that particular set up. It was probably what I had. Or I needed a specific depth
