I also own a 96 explorer, TRIED to replace the starter myself but with merely only common ratchet and sockets i found NNNNO room/space. Is the front wheel drive assembly removed in this video?? I regretfully conceded gave up quit had my explorer towed to a garage to have the job done. IS the front wheel drive removed here??? Looks wide open to me here... ,

I tried this on my 95 explorer and I found no room to handle the tools... The front axle is on the way .... any idea on what i need to remove to get to the starter and get the job done

4wd is absolute bitch to get to, I used a 3-4 foot extension from the top right next to the egr tube on a swivel.
