It boots you out when there are some changes to the level after a star (like in the big Bob-omb battle, to spawn koopa the quick)

I think the course kicks you out if the course needs to change for future stars, for example, you need to select the koopa the quick star to be able to obtain it, or you need to select top of the fortress to get that star in womps

This is something that nintendo could've done for Super mario 64, alongside Sunshine and Galaxy in the 3d all stars version. Small details that spice up the games we've been playing for years.
If only they put in a little more effort, it would've been WORTH the 60 dollars.
It was though. It's 3 classic games in one. And Mario Galaxy on a modern Nintendo console was fully worth the $60.

no, what they SHOULD HAVE done was bring some of the myths to life, like the L is real statue and maybe even the personalization thing (with a 0.01% (or 1/10,000) chance of spawning the wario apparition for a boss fight and a slightly higher 0.2% (or 1/2,000) chance if the game is purchased during halloween lol that would actually be awesome lol)

3:13 Exactly how I feel about anything mirrored. I don’t know why people hate it so much. In Ocarina of Time 3D, the master quest was mirrored, which made some places really different looking. It was so cool, almost feeling like a new game. I was hoping master mode in Breath of the Wild would do that. I also like how Twilight Princess was mirrored, and the HD version had both versions too. I guess people just hate changing what they’re used to. Wind Waker, skyward sword, majoras mask, man that would be awesome. It’s such a simple thing too

Project64 is weird on Pro Controllers. It detects everything except the right stick and ZL and ZR unless you try harder.

Watching this is just making me feel more justified in struggling on adventure 2 mode of dkr64. Over 20 years of playing it one way and now I'm trying to fight through mirrored mode... It's like trying to rewire my brain, lol!! It's neat how in a lot of games, something as simple as flipping the maps with some adjustments and a few difficulty tweaks can make an honestly fun new game+ mode and saves so much on resources, given it's the right type of environment for it.

I know this video is two years old, but on the off chance that you read this, using steam’s controller compatibility layer is great for games like this where only certain controllers are supported. I’ve used it to play Rocket League and the Super Mario 64 port (among a few other games), since they don’t support Switch Pro controller.

Ice been playing 64 since was old enough to hold a controller (obvioisly not well back then) and ive been speedrunning since i was 8, im almost 14 now and so ive grown up with sm64 and WOW. that looks wacky. the game mirrored and smoothed is cool tho. i love it as much as i hate it

First thing that came to mind when looking at this: OoT3D Master Quest.
You are getting thrown out the level every time something changes after you get a star, like the tower after defeating king thwomp
You could use xbox 360 controller emulator on this but you will need a copy of the program and plugins one in the launcher folder, and another in the build folder
Unless you have an Xinput controller, then that's not need of that
