Thank you for explaining this clearly and giving examples. Also thank you for not being condescending about it. I've read several forums after I did this and people at Maxon are very condescending about reading the documentation.
Oh my god thank you! I did my first sculpt yesterday and was so excited for it. I "saved" it and came back today to find it gone, not that the sculpt was that great but I was so bummed to loose my first project. Im so happy to have found my sculpt, thank you so much for the very informative and clear information!
Great video! Just wondering do you have any tips on opening ztools in different versions of Zbrush? sometimes I have ztools saved using a newer version of Zbrush on 1 pc and couldnt open it in another pc with an older ver. of Zbrush. :(
Thanks Winnie! As far as I know you can’t open files saved on newer versions in previous versions of zbrush. You could export your model as an .obj so that you can import it but then you would lose your subdiv levels. A really scuffed solution could be to export the lowest sub div of your model and highest sub div, import both and than project the detail onto a subdivided version of the low but that certainly isn’t a workflow I would want to do often!
@@hartgameart Thank you so much for the reply and suggestion! Ive never thought of that method before, I would def try that if I need to in the future. Thanks alot!

Whew! Glad you were able to find it!
They should probably put a warning notification when saving as zdoc...
Excellent tutorial. You addressed common issues, solutions and tips in a to-the-point manner that demystifies the bizarre Zbrush UX.
Thanks a lot, dude! This is a really useful info!! ❤🔥
Already knew the difference between these, but the video is amazing as always
Thanks Silver! This one is definetely for people just beginning to learn the ropes
Thank u for the content you are doing. Really short and helpful :)
Thanku
thank you so much for this ^^ I'm trying to learn zbrush by myself and saving my work correctly was super confusing
super helpful! Thank you!
You are awesome, thank you.
The fact that people need to make videos about this shows you how terrible the Zbrush UI is.
Random off topic question. But where is the apply rounded corners to mask at? I saw someone use it once and I can't seem to find it
Thanku
Thank you!

saving is usually a simple thing but zbrush confused me so much
zdoc fucked me over thanks for explaining
lol
having your ".zpr" file get corrupt and losing all your work. ANd saving over a hundred ".ztls" every project after that is the way hahaha
