If this teacher had made the channel sooner, he probably could have beaten that donut in the first place. I spent $700 on a platform to learn 3D, and honestly, they sometimes confuses me by worse explanation, especially when English is not my mother tongue tho. However, this guy's explanations are much clearer.
hey thanks for the kind words! i believe there is enough room in the 3D world to share your voice, so hopefully my voice can reach you and everyone else who might need it! cheers!
@@AbeLeal3D Hey man, I ended up using the technique for the first time after seeing this video a while back. It was very intuitive because I had the textures already done, and was taking a game optimized mesh and turning it into something for 3D print. Thanks again!
Surprisingly, I think I prefer this speed of video, but it's probably because I know the steps really well already. When I was at a beginner level, I would be afraid of missing or not understanding some of the details, but now I can keep up with the process at a time-lapse speed with commentary.
thanks! and yeah the idea is to have a mix of real time video and some more "advance" videos covering this sort of thing for people who already know most of the process
Excellent video, this is exactly the topic I've been trying to expand on and I think you're pretty much answering all of my questions! Definitely got a sub from me! Thanks man! I really appreciate the content!
Sir your work is great and I am a big fan of yours. I have also seen your animation tutorial by nexttut. Sir, can you create industry-level animation tutorials that we can create for our strong portfolios
Hey Abe great video as always ! i have a question - how do i polypaint these engravings to texture them in substance ? Also would this require separate uvs ?
Since the engravings are sculpted in the best option would be to use a dirt mask or a curvature mask within substance. They will usually be baked down into a low poly
Personally I like to do these things in designer and painter since it’s more adjustable especially with anchor points If if need to sculpt on it I could just export the uv‘d mesh to zbrush again and sculpt some details if procedural stuff doesn’t suffice
I prefer your regular speed as i feel its easier to understand and follow along i will say here i loved the explanations behind the older method with unfolding the model and prepping a mask for zbrush rather than for SP and explaining the benefits to these older methods
I also enrolled for your advance character creation course by nexttut education I just wanted to know are these courses enough for me to get started with zbrush also I have purchased 5 6 other courses of zbrush to learn zbrush and I'm following you from last 4 days and developed more interest in zbrush 😊
yeah the advance one is really cool as well! i recommend doing that after the stylized character, if you have questios about the advance one send them to me directly since i am no longer part of the nexttut team and i cant see the questions on udemy
yeah i mentioned it in the video, it could be done with alphas but sometimes its way easier to plan on a flat surface cause alphas tend to deform on curve elements, if you try to do it in a sphere for instance you would struggle to get a uniform depth on all of them. this tecnique is particulary good for armor and weapons were the surfaces are curved and conform to a specific body or shape
you also generate this Alpha with Photoshop (As you show in your video) and create height map using substance painter, then put this height or displacement map in Zbrush and apply displacement map on your Subdivid High resolution model! 🤔 that's way you also had low poly model and displacement map and also high poly full detail model. thought on this sir😊
Hello sir I'm from India and I just want to learn zbrush and I just wanted to know that I enrolled for your stylized character course on udemey will that course is enough for me to get started with zbrush please tell me sir ☺️
Hey my firend! Yes that course is a great way to start, the first 2 chapters cover the basics of the software and then we go an create the full character while learning more tools and techniques
ok ok thats good to know! i dont plan to swithc to this style permanently but i wanted to give it a try maybe we will do it this way for certain videos

Super cool workflow using the texture map inside ZBrush! I've never thought of using textures like that at all, and the results speak for themselves.
Thanks! And this was a simple design you can really go crazy with things like carvings, tattoos, scars, etc.

You got it! both previous livestreams area available in the channel
this fast and rly clean tut just made me subscribe, thank u for sharing ur experinece and helping people who study game graphics production, mah)
Glad it helped! This one was used as a part of our Marvelous Designer premium course, feel free to check it out - www.abeleal3d.com

This video just blew my mind. Your videos make me not give up on my projects :) thank u
Just found your channel as I began one of your skillshare tutorials. You're amazing! Thank you so much!
@@wielandsmith thank you and welcome! The most recent courses are now on my site 😉
Nice my dude!
You can also try by alpha masking once you imported your design/image as an alpha
yes! that is another way to do it.
Great content! I learned a lot about the features of ZBrushthank you

thanks for the support! and yes we are planning on way more tutorials for next year so stay tuned
Man .. thank you so much this was clear and super useful
Glad it helped!
Great as always, you're one of the best tutor on TH-cam but I have to rewatch some moments on 0.25 speed 😅
haha thanks! and yeah this was just a test, i might use this every now and then but only sporadically

Yep I agree, the reasoning I gave for this is in case we want to 3d print for instance. You need to have the sculpted detail

thanks for the feedback major! and yeah i agree that this is difficult to follow i will take that into account
Thank you.! Very hopefull video❤

Wow... Very Nise steps ! ❤

Why not use zremesher?
Amazing
i miss to see that . how do we make that stylist patten .which software to make it ?
i used photoshop but any image editing software can work, Krita and Gimp are some good free ones
oh . thank you.
why not use those alphas and project them in to the subdivided model? its way faster and you have a lot of control
yeah i mentioned it in the video, it could be done with alphas but sometimes its way easier to plan on a flat surface cause alphas tend to deform on curve elements, if you try to do it in a sphere for instance you would struggle to get a uniform depth on all of them.

@@AbeLeal3D thanks you sir. for your valuable feedback.
I wish could learn the hole thing directly in zbrush :8
@@julscifer00 if you don't have Photoshop you could use a free software like krita
am i right after doing UV u import in Zbrush that LP beak and import that mask?
correct you need to reimport the newly created LP with its Uvs to use the mask as a texture
damn. now i realize i lack photoshop skills too. i really wanna know how to make those ornaments from scratch in photoshop
how to make patterns on top of clothes in zbrush?
Noisemaker
@@AbeLeal3D is it plugin for zbrush?
what computer are you using?
nothing super fancy, i got a 3080ti, 32gb of ram and a ryzen 7 5800x
thanks do you feel 32 is a must? will 16 do?
@@CarlosDelaoGunEngraver 16 is good , 32 is really good but if I could I would go all the way to 64
are we gonna see the prosses of bake displace maP? later Video?
Yes we will do a bakes video! Not for displacement tho. But It is a similar process

why one texture and not UDIM
importing UDIMS to zbrush is very time consuming and since this was a small piece a single 4k texture does the trick nicely
Sir i was not able to find your demon slayer course wjere is it 😢

tehre you go my friend! is this the one you were looking for?
Its quite fast i really like your old style where you explain things while doing it
ok ok thats good to know! i dont plan to swithc to this style permanently but i wanted to give it a try maybe we will do it this way for certain videos
yeah its good to try new things, people may like this more who knows@@AbeLeal3D
If you speed the video up more, you can cut the time down to 5 mins...
Yes but then it is even more difficult to see the process 😅 I am trying to find a balance
Teache,r I prefer normal speed video, for me is more simple to follow 🙂
Noted!
better doing this on substance painter, so much time wasted :D
I explain on the video the reasons my friend 😅 if you wanted to 3d printed for instance you need to have the details sculpted in
Please speak slowly as like teacher ,,, nit like this please. Respect
oh no it was texture not 3d, fired!
this will never happen, fuck the mask display it wasn't made for that
