I genuinely appreciate how accessible you make this borderline esoteric software seem. I love 3D and organic sculpting in general but Zbrush's obscure toolset was always a huge wall for me.
I agree. It was a few years before I really deep dived into the program, after learning about making my own custom UI, and which work flow was right for me. The default layout is unintuitive, and a lot of super useful tools are buried in menu after menu.

Hi Michael, I just upgraded to 2023.2.2 used a polymesh 3D sphere to test, added high res, del lower and the proxy pose option is greyed out, any reason for this?
I have the monthly version right now, I do not see this option on my selection menu. Will I get it with the full version? Or am I missing where to find it?
Love the video, Mike. Maybe it's the way I sculpted my figure (in A pose), but when I rig and rotate an arm it brings a lot of the upper leg in the influence and when that happens it looks like the low poly model is chunky if that makes sense
The leg following along you might (?) be able to fix with helper zspheres (see me making those at 11:33 to keep the torso verts from following the arm for example); the chunky part can sometimes (?) be from having the low poly actually have too many polygons, and zspheres are struggling moving the verts, and giving you a "stepped" result rather than a nice soft falloff (in which case, using a lower resolution proxy setting might help)
Blender can practically do this if you use armatures and the Lodify mesh addon for posing. You essentially use a low poly mesh for the viewport and a high poly in the render which uses the same armature.
at the end the result it is bad. your clean an great model will be reduce in vertex size and will have a bad quality of your scultped model. this tool and method is not the greatest if you want to keep your sculpt.
@@MichaelPavlovich well i did all the steps you show us and many times and the result was bad. all my sculpt was pure in quality. i'm not saying extremely bad and unusable, but my sculpt was at least 72% decries in quality. my result doesn't look as my redefined sculpt.
