    Yes, I noticed that too. A lot if people using them on board and good reviews. It’s probably just NOCO’s way of protecting them from any liability when used on boats vs using them on vehicles like RV’s with multiple batteries. Or they just haven’t updated their user guide yet with appropriate warnings like other marine on board brands do. For example, the Minn Kota MK 330 PCL

    What if you have your batteries hooked up in series? Would you still hook up each battery separately?

    I want to add a GenPro10x3 for my boat trolling motor (24 V VDC 80 pound Ulterra) and like you back to my starter battery. I also read do not make it longer than 10ft. I had a question for you, what extension should I connect but it looks like I have to cut and connect. I think I may buy the extension from NOCO so I can swap ends (terminals and clamps). How did you end up doing it?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      Good question, I’m in the process of creating a video showing this procedure. You’ll want to cut the terminals off after the fuse. I then ran 14awg to the starting battery. I connected the extension wire to the ends I just cut off using heat shrink marine grade butt connectors. Was a lot cheaper then buying NOCO extensions.

    Does the charger remember the last selected battery type each time you plug it in, or do you have to select the battery type each time you use it?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      This unit will remember your settings. Makes charging simple, just plug the unit in after a Hard days fishing and let er charge.

    On 7:30, how do I extend the cables of my Genpro 10 to the Noco 10 Foot extension cable? My original intention was connect the Genpro 10 to the Noco extension cables and then Noco 12V male plug into the car. Advice is appreciated.

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      If you purchased the Noco 12v extension and it has the built in fuse, then you can attach your extension to the unit just before the fuse on the Genpro. If no inline fuse on your extension, you must connect after the Genpro fuse. But I’m not sure I’m understanding what your trying to connect?

    I just purchased the 10/3 going to installed today my only good option to install it is laying it flat do you think it would be a problem also once the batteries are charged can’t you leave them plugged in all the time as a trickle charger?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      That should be no problem leaving the charger lie flat. Yes, you can leave the charger plugged in all the time. Once your batteries are fully charged it will switch to float mode. Congrats on your purchase!

    great video!
    do you know if you can use these 12v Noco's on two trolling motor batteries connected in series (24v), 1 bank to each battery?

    • @DeanoOutDoors
      @DeanoOutDoors  วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, that is how I have mine setup.

  • @VitoMacchio
    @VitoMacchio 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Do you have to remove the jumper that connects the 2 12 volts making the 24 volt?

    • @DeanoOutDoors
      @DeanoOutDoors  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, leave your batteries connected in series. Just be sure to attach each pair of charging cables to their own battery. So one set of positive and negative to one battery and the other set to the next battery.

  • @samtriplette8716

    do you have your two lithiums parallel or series or seperated? Are you running one bank per battery?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      They are run in series for the 24v trolling motor. Each battery is being charged independently, one charging cable per battery.

    • @3604x4

      When charging independently do you have to disconnect jumpers that connect the batteries?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      No, the batteries are connected in series and each battery will receive its own set of charging cables allowing them to be independently charged while still connected in series.

    • @ScottinEC

      But wouldn’t the polarity get mixed up if you leave the jumper wire connected? I’m in the process of wiring this to 2 lithiums as well and thought I needed to put a disconnect on the jumper wire before charging?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      No need for a disconnect. If you have them wired in series, put a volt meter on each individual batteries positive and negative. Each battery will read 12.8v even while connected with the jumper. Now, if you were to place the meter on the negative terminal of one battery and to the positive of the other battery, it will read something like 30.4v. Hope this makes sense.

    Does it tell you battery life if it's not plugged into an extension cord?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      No, in order to see that you’ll need to plug in the charger. That would be a nice feature though.

    How long would it take to charge a single lithuim 24v battery with that 10ah charger?

    • @DeanoOutDoors

      Depends on the ah battery you are charging. A 100ah battery would take 10 hours to fully charge from zero percent, but you’ll never want to run any battery down that low. Typically, you’ll run your battery down 50% so a 100ah battery will take 5 hours to charge.

    Looks like a quality charger, however I read through the user guide and it makes no claim that this is an onboard charger for marine use, but the exact opposite quoted here Page 6 note 7: “ A marine (boat) battery must be removed and charged on shore. To charge it on board requires equipment specially designed for marine use.” They don’t go into much detail into connecting batteries other than vehicle install and ground to chassis requirements. No diagram’s or explanation of connecting multiple battery banks. Curious if the unit came with different instructions than what I could find available online?

      I believe you were looking at the Genius chargers which are for mostly vehicles. What you want to look at are the GEN series which are down below the Genius on their website. Here is a direct link to their web page of the exact item I used: no.co/genpro10x3 And here is the Instructions link: no.co/media/nocodownloads/format/g/e/genpro_series_na_user_guide_10.12.2022b_2.pdf They make various chargers with close model names so it can get confusing. I hope this info helps you.

      Thank you for getting back to me. I opened your link and it pulled up the same user guide I referred to. Looks like NOCO snuck-in the statement about marine use under “Follow these steps when battery is outside vehicle” note: 7)

      Interesting. I know a lot of guys using these chargers and all have them permanently installed on their boats. They are IP65 rated and state they are submersible so I see no issues using them.
