Like Tony the Tiger said, "They'rrrrr GREAT! But they're just NOT my highest priority now. My priority and my focus is on reducing my footprint in the U.S. and transitioning (successfully) to S.E. I'm in the same position and process as you, reducing my footprint, but unfortunately let myself get sidetracked by a foreign woman who's not even in the country that I desire to retire to. Like you, I'm so glad I came across Calvin's message today! I'm on a fixed income now, and women don't seem to understand exactly what that means.

I never knew about the jealousy being so common but funny thing..years ago a guy stayed with us who had a Fillipina wife. His job had made it easier to do this. His wife was living about 450 miles away but his work relocated and he would see her on weekends. He was a good husband and loyal but she called him all the time at all hours. I did not know then that this is kind of maybe normal.

All of the above. I love my woman but jealous as all hell. I could have visited every Filipina I was talking to and none of them would have known but I jumped in with the one I felt was the one. And she is. But LDR after being with her for the 10 weeks I did isn't easy at all. Trying to get back to stay but that's proving harder than I expected. Stay strong man.

That lifestyle is just shamed in the world because Men suppose to be “Overwhelmed with Overhead” and Utilities for people that don’t appreciate them. I am enjoying your videos my brother. I've been in Thailand for the past 9 years. I've only had one serious girlfriend. I've been single for the past 2 years. I'm picky and see no need to settle for just anything. Also, I'm learning that I like spending my hard earned money on me. Freedom and Peace of Mind are Priceless. I'm overdue for a trip to the Phillipines. My ex wife's mother was a Filipina. I haven't been there in about 25 or more years. I would love to meet up with you when I come over. There are men too that go to the Philippines and live there to just enjoy the country, the beaches, sights and the restaurants, some expats are past that stag of life and can no longer satisfy a woman, so they move there for a better retirement and live good for a lot less than the west😊

Thanks Calvin. Ive been to Negros O a couple times now just looking to retire there and learn the culture as you stated - before entertaining any relationship. Ive been single for 17 yrs so, tho sure, it would be nice to have the right woman, being single is a simple low drama life worth keeping as I focus on settling there. Youre right -Its just not worth the risk to my peace to get tied up in emotional commitments before enjoying the county independently for a time. appreciate your affirmation on that. Its not easy to avoid in the Phils but Im used to being on my own and can stay that way until the benifits outweigh the risks and burdens. Picky is just smart at this stage. Things will happen when the time is right - Im not going to rush it.

Different stroke for different folks. I knew my Filipina wife 8 years before I married her. She stuck with me through covid and years of fighting for my VA disability. I have a great income and do not mind spending money on her as I get it back in the money she saves my by having her save me the foreigner tax in certain situations. She saved me a ton when we bought a house in Tungkil. It is great to have a live in translator as I am too old and lazy to learn a new language. I am loving my retirement here. Far better than in if I had stayed in the states

This is me …. I’ve given up dating in the West altogether, just not worth the effort/$/energy. I’m contemplating moving overseas ….. not for the women or the nightlife. I just want a better life with my savings. I can retire 10-15 years early and enjoy my life with less stress. That is the way to do it. I'm not coming there for a woman. But for a good life and to kick back. Swim with the whale sharks and Island hopping to see just where i want to stay. Brother Calvin do you know any real estate agents and lawyers there? I will be getting a nice place and a car. I will be settled well before I ever even think about about a woman.

Man these dudes flying across the world thinking they are gonna get away from the nature of women if I was in my 60s retired i would never get in a “serious” relationship because in no way do i want that responsibility i rather rent a different hottie every week and enjoy life by traveling all over getting to know the locals making life time friendships networking just truly being free and setting up where i will spend the last of my days.

There are 2 segments of male travelers (tourists, expats, etc). The Family-oriented ones like Calvin who seek a partner, and Adventurist, who are not woman-driven. The guy that you are referring to is the norm, not the exception and I can practically guarantee you that The Philippines will not be a long-term home for him because the country offers limited diverse adventures. Philippines is ideal for Family-oriented guys because they are not frequent explorers or travelers. More like home- bodies.

That’s not an opinion, it’s basic Destination Marketing 101. Every country has a profile of the typical foreigner that their country attracts. That’s why you NEVER see country’s tourist offices mention another country in their promotions I have done this for over 30 years. The guy that you described in this video will definitely move to another country in a few years because he is in no rush to have a partner there, therefore he has no ties there (no girlfriend), and after he explores the country within a few years, he will want to move to another country and explore that country..
