Hauling the FishLocker Lobster Pots - Father and Son catch MONSTERS of the deep | The Fish Locker

  • What will we catch in our Lobster pots? We love working a small number of lobster pots from our small family boat. Such a wonderful and rewarding experience that often brings delicious rewards. Hauling our lobster traps by hand makes it all the more rewarding when you catch something to eat. Join me and me son as we check our pots and talk you through the things we catch. Teaching the next generation of fishermen about the marine world and how to care for it - Including conservation regulations that are in place in Cornwall UK.
This video is in memory of my Uncle Dave "Scally" Locker. An amazing man, fisherman and friend. Who was instrumental in encouraging my love for fishing and the sea from a young age.

also lobsters are one of those rare creatures that doesn't die from old age but only predation or sickness....their regenerative abilities are so great theoretically they can live forever....the telomeres on the end of their DNA doesn't degrade with each cell division and that is what most scientists believe is a major factor in aging.

I have donated a big lobster we rescued from the market to a local hatchery, the aquariums are not really an ideal place for them as they don't get the chance to breed. So he is best imo to be back in the sea. 😊🦞

Don't let him read the next bit hahaha...Knowing his love of our Jurassic age, next time you drop the pots you should add a little Easter egg for him. Stick a Plastic Ichthyosaur in a pot before you set them and take him out to collect them. The look on his face as you haul in an ocean going Dinosaur would be totally PRICELESS.
