It’s funny to say they are “going dark for several years” as if they haven’t been doing this since announcing it. We’ve gotten nothing beyond an announcement that they are making it.
Quite literally we've gotten next to nothing. Ghostcrawler would give tweets on game design every now and again, but we've gotten nothing solid at all. Going dark is what we have been doing for five years lol.
It's worth reminding that Arcane had the same treatment, the first version wasn't greenlighted and they had to pretty much remade the thing, you can watch about it in the making off.
I was honestly looking forward to a straight forward MMO from a well funded, high quality control studio. I will hold out hope that whatever they come up with will be really awesome and surprise me. I'm just kinda sad that we don't get a good classic style MMO.

OW2 was an MMO that got reduced to a Hero Shooter... they basically only kept the art-ish for it, and creating a couple of small maps and 3 abilities per hero is VERY different to comparing an Open World Map with some 10-20 abilities per hero :| Riot even if they scrapped everything except the art and maaaybe some of the maps they made, it's not east to create something NEW and INNOVATIVE and GROUNDBREAKING in a MMO compared to... what? Every other shooter that existed before? But now you have shields and more HP?

This, spend all your money on quality of voice acting, writing, world and set design make it the biggest riot game spectacle and then slap on your raids at the end.
Yeah because you guys are MMO boomers. No new audience is gonna pick up another game where every class can do everything within their role, there is an extremely repetitive bland 2 minute meta, and most bosses are literally just "stand in the right place and wait for your damage window". Especially since we already have 3 popular MMOs that do the exact same thing. With more coming in the future. Tab targeting and "combat" only exists as a compromise for the horrible 2 decade old netcode all these absolutely ancient games have.
@@undercoverspy123 Respectfully, it really doesn't matter if you've been playing for 10 hours or 10,000 hours, wanting a tab targeting theme park clone of ff14 is an MMO boomer opinion to hold. Over half of current MMO players are over 25, and the genre has a well known difficulty attracting a new player base that isn't just established players that look back fondly on the golden age of mmos. Adding another wow clone into what is essentially a well established decade old market isn't a very good creative decision, in my opinion, and it looks to be their opinion as well.
Old school RuneScape is also an incredible mmo, and is gaining a lot of traction. It doesn’t have traditional tanks or healers, but still crazy fun to do end game content
It’s not about not wanting to copy a game, it is about having a differentiating factor for their game to make sure it has its own place in the market. League was the first fully free to play mobas and one of the earliest and most successful free to play games in general. LOR was and is the only hearthstone-esque games to not be pay to win. It is genuinely not profitable, they can only keep it going because their other games do well profit-wise. Valorant balances the concepts of fps and unique character abilities without leaning too heavy into either concept (unlike how csgo fully leans into standard fps or how overwatch fully leans into unique character abilities) Even their 2xko has ways to differentiate itself from its competitors. Just because they don’t make the gameplay or concepts much different, doesn’t mean there is no differentiator. I find it crazy that people are upset with riot taking their time to make sure their MMO is actually good rather than shitting out a copy of what’s already on the market
The thing is In my opinion Riot was never rly a visionary in the gaming industry fundamentals They took what was there in the original Dota and made it better They took Dota Auto-chess and made it better They took what was there in CS and added their own spin to it They took what was there in hearthstone and made their own game from it They never reinvented the wheel, they just made some Damn good wheels Why start now? I'm sure an MMO that sticks to the basics of other MMO's already in the market and a few new and interesting mechanics that are always present in Riot games when compared to their competitors would have been a profitable approach, why give that up to make a "significant revolution of the genre"
Exactly. Riot hasn't made a single game/mechanic that made a precedent in the gaming industry. They making something that is not traditional is way more concerning than people think. People enjoy their games because they make what is rough out there better.

i really hope they will take inspiration of how world interaction works in Helldivers II. This dynamic, of a living war/world, is awesome, and should be applied to multiplayer games overall.
@@PheonixT-ki8rx thats the concern. At this point, its more likely it gets cancelled then they make the next Hades. but on an MMO scale. Here is the sad truth, if they just had a vision and ran with it then it should at least be solid as long as its fun to play

I wonder how much of this is planned to stir up the waters to see the reactions. I mean it would be a good way to see where people stand on things given how well Necrit here helps it along.
Ah, the MassEffect Citadel ambiance playing in the background has sent me on such a nostagia journey, I could barely feel any disappointment about the MMO news XD
I think they should go for a more story driven experience over anything. Like having the traditional grinding of an MMO is important but the Runeterra universe is special because of the ever expanding stories. Maybe some form of making your own story would benefit them over anything. (I was expecting a 2026 release or trailer... Can't wait to show my kids the new MMO.)
not gonna happen in an MMO, that'd be for single player gamer. The RPG in MMORPG means you make your own story regardless, but most gamers just press buttons these days, they dont really immerse themselves. They rush to endgame, watch streamers to min/max, then cry when all the content is consumed.
I think it would be possible to strike a balance between story and gameplay. I just hope they do a good amount of world building and make it feel alive
yeah FF14 already does this and is massively popular and the devs are some of the most respected in the industry, can confirm balled my eyes out at the end of Endwalker and wiped to boss mechs in fuckin normal cause I couldn't see through the tears.
I think a big feature that every MMORPG needs to have is in-depth customization. Not just character creation, but also build opportunities, outfits, housings/homesteads. The best game to be not only has great character progression through levels and dungeons/raids, but also through community. I'm a serious RPer, every MMORPG I've played I scour and find some kind of roleplay community to be apart of. I like to invest my time into only a few, small handful of characters - mostly just one or two. That's what gets me to stay in an MMORPG for a very long time. So to hear this just makes me worried about what's to come to the Runeterra MMO.
Some test footage for external feedback before canning the whole thing would still be better than whatever they've been doing now, it'd be more believable if they say it's just not monetized enough or something
It's funny, I would honestly probably love an MMO that I've played before but with a Runeterra coat of paint. Not saying I wont like what they're working on better, but I hope they're not trying to reinvent the genre just for the sake of being different. I don't mind if it's similar to stuff I've played before if that's the most fun version of it.
i hope its different from most MMO's, i find it really hard to bring myself to mindlessly slave away and grind on 90% of them so if they're actually trying to make this one different and hopefully more engaging then i'm all for waiting longer when they say they don't want it to be just another MMO with a runeterra coat of paint, i can almost guarantee that they just want to make it more accessible for people who don't like the usual MMO grind
They previously said they want a game that you can come back to without fomo. So casual driven and has content for hardcore grinders but mostly focused on casuals where they play for few months take few months break to play new releases and come back without feeling like starting from 0
@@sonnyankau9239 which is completely fine, i personally don't mind grinding for a game but its the grind that most MMOs have that frustrates me. when it comes down to it almost every single MMO's combat is just "do rotation, if AOE is bad then move and if AOE is good then stand still" which is incredibly boring. FF14 was a mild exception with the fact that a few classes have a somewhat interesting rotation and there are some mechanics which don't make it as stale or dull, but FF14's issue is the MSQ being as long as it is. riot knows how to keep people engaged and hooked on games and i have faith they'll be able to finally make an MMO with gameplay that doesn't make me feel like my brain is rotting
When it comes to MMOs I am EXTREMELY patient, as long as it's not canceled i'll be fine. It's just a shame Riot Forge is no more, because I really liked all of their games.
I’m confused why they even made this announcement to begin with. We already knew next to nothing about the game so why create all this doom and gloom in the community? I had already assumed the game wouldn’t come out for 10 years at least. All this announcement does is make them look bad and lose the faith of their players.
At 18:40 Necrit is absolutely right. I fully trust the devs and will wait for a good game made by them no matter how long it takes. Even Legends of Runeterra is a fantastic game, it just isn’t monetized well that’s why Riot still supports it.

I believe that the beauty of the runeterra universe deserves nothing more then something absolutely extraordinary, i support this decisions STRONGLY, marketing riot mmo as runeterra wow would attract only the loyalist and nobody else, we can have more then that
i think its a good thing that the mmo really wants to try something different. the standard mmo is very flawed with grinding up until late game were you can finally have fun with raids, dungeons and getting loot. the whole experience should be fun, arguably leveling and exploring the world SHOULD be the best part of it. and again were thinking: dungeons, raids, levels, item levels, gear imagine if they put a spin on it and actually not use any of those, instead focusing one creating your own abilities and find weapons that all use different playstyle instead of getting a knife that does 5 more dmg. a new mmo should stand out, like REALLY stand out. with the way riot is talking i think they are trying exactly that
Have you played guild wars 2? If you haven't I think you might enjoy it because what you described is fairly applicable to GW2. Every weapon type has a different ability set and there's a huge focus on making the leveling process more enjoyable. Either way I'm excited to know it's not just going to be a traditional mmo because I could never get into WoW
Yes, but personally, I want a AAA MMO that locks you into your class, and has those kinds of role filling things. I'm tired of mmos trying to reinvent the wheel with "making your own abilities" or multiclassing, or "there aren't really any classes" bs. I want to have a job in a team, and I want the class that do those jobs locked in on it.
Grinding should be for effects on weapons, not just stats, and unlocking your skill tree, yes, but not this open ended stuff that has literally never seen much success
@@dosears1229 even by looking at league you will notice that you have different roles in the lane you choose. A top laner can go ap hypercarry or be incredibly tanky. A jungler can be an assassin or be able to chase you map wide. Roles are good, but different play styles in said roles are better imo
One thing I learned as a student in this industry is that experience is everything. Nomatter if the games you made flopped or turned out a success, you will learn out of that project and do better the next time. Thats why im not concerned with Faburisu. He has experience and I'm sure the team will pull off an amazimg game. I know im ingesting pure copium here but I really believe in them.
People need to remember that experience with bad games is still experience. Even if Faburisu did work on those less than amazing games, that just means that he knows what can go wrong during development and can navigate those issues better.
I like their transparency though. One thing I've been really wanting from an MMO is a deep character/class customisation system. I remember playing Rift and loving it multi class system there, I've been wanting something like that ever since Rift pretty much died, but no MMO has been very satisfying for me. I'm the kind of person who enjoys experimenting with builds and creating weird/janky/gimmicky builds.
@@pryncebusta9875 I hate Blizzard, no thanks and WoW's class system is by far inferior to what Rift had. It used to be that you could put points into 3 different talent trees and build your class differently to other people, they removed that so I quit.
i was talking with a friend about this. i feel like if they made the league MMO to be more centric on learning the lore and quests, i'd love that. maybe make combat feel similar to league combat, but let you add abilities to QWERASDF. make the abilities fully customizable/piecemeal. certain races in certain areas can do quests to get ability components. so things like projectile, AOE, then element damage like electric, rock, fire, and shielding, healing components. if they can balance it well enough, the PVP scene may actually be really good, since no two people would have the exact same setup of skills, making its unpredictable.
vanguard is useless in an mmorpg lmao everything is already sanitized since game runs on the server and tab targeting helps a TON with input delay this isn't a shooter the genre of a game is what makes the anti-cheat
"Shooter" games and League plus any other "live service game" are games that run almost entirely on the server hence why "live service", plus this was a joke
@@Heigou_ manually aiming abilities that do 5 damage is so fucking tedious ur gonna get arthritis lol tab targeting isn't bad its the best you can have a variety of abilities while also being able to focus on what abilities you use Instead of focusing on the aim here shoot there gameplay which is a lot more boring and tedious than having variety all the time. but hey maybe you personally favor bandit beaters which is personally any game that isn't tab targeting because ur gonna be focusing a lot more on aiming and not so much on combo'ing
@@WarrR0ck I'm a huge fan of the guild wars 2 combat system. It's not tab targeting but it's also not necessarily like a shooter. You face the direction of your enemy, no abilities lock on allowing the players to dodge roll attacks coming their way. That is a good pvp system that worked incredibly well especially during pvp matches. Tab targeting is outdated and so boring to play with. I cannot go back to tab targeting mmo's, it will completely kill this game if that happens to be the direction we go in. There's a reason that style of gameplay is only around d still because of things like wow and unlike how apparently everyone else feels, I do not want a wow clone. Let it die and move on. Let your warped nostalgia die.
just to pitch a point, some of the biggest games ever had a similar reality when being created, the original devs of diablo didn't intend or have any want to put mouse click combat and was going for something entirely different. Only after the diablo developers got a feel for what the game could be with that direction did it turn into a hack and slash clicker, I don't think them announcing they had to scrap and restart some or all of the project is a bad take on it going forward.
What is problematic for me in "we don't believe you all want an MMO that you've played before" is that A LOT of people tried to improve the genra of what an MMORPG is, and failed. Every time a company tried to make a new take on how an MMO should work, it ended up being worse than what theme park MMOs had to offer (ff14, WoW...) Well, I AM hopeful that we will get an awsome new take on the MMO genra, just a bit sad that the chances of it being something I don't wish to play increased drasticly because of this decision.
I wouldn't have played a theme park again so this is only good news for me. I have played theme parks and they all end up as wasted time. I would not have been any less happy playing other games instead. The best parts of an MMO do not even come from the theme park design. It comes from the people playing it.
@@Merilirem I do not fully agree with this. the sentence could be replaced by "the best parts about playing *any type of game* do not even come from *their gameplay* . It comes from the people playing it. playing poker with friends will always be more fun than playing alone on league. because the fun comes from interacting with your friends or friends-to-be first and foremost.
I think the "sad news" part is only because their "going dark for several years", at least for me, but everything else in the post, I believe to be the correct choice. First of all, always remember when ghostcrawler said in an interview that money is not a problem for Riot, and that they would only cancel the game if they think it doesn't live up to their standards, not because of how much money have been poured into the project, because quite frankly, they have endless amounts of money, any other company would've already pulled the plug by now. And lastly, I believe that WHATEVER they decide to do with the game, whatever the direction may be, it is already set for success, why? Because it's the League IP we're talking about, an IP that boast a MASSIVE fanbase, an IP that's, arguably, top 3 overall biggest IPs in all of gaming, they can take the game any direction they want, it's not gonna matter, it's gonna be a wild success regardless. That said, I do believe that the decision of trying to evolve the genre with the game is the correct one, because if they made just another MMO but set in Runeterra, yes it would have been really successful, but again, it would've been just another MMO at the end of the day, and people would've realized it too after a bit. Like, why has NO OTHER MMO managed to dethrone WoW up until now? Because devs keep releasing "just another MMO", whereas WoW was an innovator in the genre, was a trailblazer, and that's what the next big thing in the genre MUST do in order to take the crown, and the only game that can achieve it, is the Riot MMO
There have been games with enough of a unique system that they could beat WoW, but they had slight defects in their design. Warhammer Online, for example, had a much more entertaining end game than WoW, but because they only had two factions, there wasn't enough in the endgame to stop one side from crushing the other side in RvR, and RvR was too important to the end game that the losing side just kept losing more. If there were 3 factions, the other two could have shut down the other one.
Appreciate that they pulled back. From what it sounds they ended up with something very traditional (WoW and FFXIV) which is already on its way out with their core gameplay by today's standards. XIV ends up functioning more like a second-life than a game now and WoW is sustained by fumes from 2004. Appreciate how they'll try to balance out the super approachable system, but mind numbing, button bloating tab targeting, and the much higher barrier of entry of modern action combat you see in korean mmos/newer releases. Then progression systems and etc.
Let's be honest. They said the MMO is canceled without actually saying it. I think it's time to move on and leave RIOT to their own shenanigans. In case I'm wrong, it will be a pleasant surprise instead of an agonizing wait.
You shouldn't need to decide something is cancelled to alleviate that feeling. Things being worked on shouldn't be waited for. You should simply do other things until they arrive.
I already expected it to take many years. It's not like we are gonna be starved without good games until it comes out. I see this as good news and I hope they take the time they need to make the game as high quality as possible.
Riot is not going to make anything that will feel like a "sigificant evolution of the genre". There really isn't much you can do with MMOs at this point. People do needs to understand that ALL MMOs comes down to going around and killing stuff one way or another. Its just a matter of fun it is. Its weird that people haven't learned to keep their expectations in the realm of reality. People should ask for a quality MMO experience with a quality combat, instead of expecting something that is going to "reinvent the wheel". This is especially true because Riot is at its best when they spin an established thing to their liking. Riot's identity was never about uniqueness. FFXIV would've been a much better game if it had a better combat. WoW or BnS would've been a much better game if it had better social features and content accompanied with it. BDO would've been a much better game if it had better group content. They should look to fill what the big MMOs are missing instead of going after the "unique". The "unique" is a major reason why we're constantly getting trash AAA games.
ur not wrong, riot does specialize a lot in taking established games and releasing a version that draws out the best in said games. however i also think thats also a large reason that riot wants to make this mmo truly "their own". people with actual eyes will know that riot just made as @negentropyagent7337 says "a complete experience". but people without eyes which seems to be quite a large number of degen dota wow cs and overwatch fans say: "Riot is just hard copying our popular games i have no idea why they are so popular how can they be better than our original games". and quite honestly i think that the degen opinion is being heard way more than the sensible one making riot right now having that label of being a copycat
What do you guys expect…they fired like half if not more of the people who made a huge impact …so tbh this don’t surprise me and I don’t see why people even take riot seriously or look forward to anything they do anymore..league isn’t even worth it anymore
i mean riot literally said one of the reasons they made a huge layoff and discontinued some live games that are not profitable or cant be sustain anymore was to kinda double down and focus their resources on future projects like project l, arcane and this MMO
the layoffs are part of the mass hirings during the pandemic, it has nothing to do with the MMO also, most of the people that worked on MMO still are. This is more of a just "wait longer" and "expect no news" update, i think they felt like they need to do this kind of announcement to keep the expectation of a release date still low.
@@alexandrul.9910 yea that too. to add to that, a lot of tech companies after pandemic did a huge layoff before riot did and those companies did damage to the employees even worse than riot. it's just that riot was able to endure being over-employed for few years more than it should. so the layoff has nothing to do with the MMO negatively. I think it has something to do with how riot do their games, not being "original" but it has its own flavor. like it's in between of trying not to reinvent the wheel and at the same time offering few mordern-day approach which is really challenging if they want to appeal to the masses given the state of MMO's today
I'm with you on the classic MMO thing, i personally don't want nothing too crazy , just a lot of contents , lot of stuff to farm and gears to upgrade in runetera , i'm kind of scare that they going to try too hard and make it weird but at the same times i fully trust them , all the riot forge games have been a blast , arcane and all the music they produced have been amazing so who know perhaps this is going to be insanely good and become the future of MMO ... Fingers cross 🤞🤞🤞

OW2 was an MMO that got reduced to a Hero Shooter... they basically only kept the art-ish for it, and creating a couple of small maps and 3 abilities per hero is VERY different to comparing an Open World Map with some 10-20 abilities per hero :|
Riot even if they scrapped everything except the art and maaaybe some of the maps they made, it's not east to create something NEW and INNOVATIVE and GROUNDBREAKING in a MMO compared to... what? Every other shooter that existed before? But now you have shields and more HP?

Yeah because you guys are MMO boomers. No new audience is gonna pick up another game where every class can do everything within their role, there is an extremely repetitive bland 2 minute meta, and most bosses are literally just "stand in the right place and wait for your damage window". Especially since we already have 3 popular MMOs that do the exact same thing. With more coming in the future. Tab targeting and "combat" only exists as a compromise for the horrible 2 decade old netcode all these absolutely ancient games have.
@@FeiFongWang I've been playing mmos for 2 years.
Riot not wanting to copy a game is hilarious
Well... They went out of their way to avoid adding Elves and Dwarves to be unique so yeah...
to be fair one of the founders was a dev on the dota mod for Warcraft 3
it might turned out to be disastrous
It’s not about not wanting to copy a game, it is about having a differentiating factor for their game to make sure it has its own place in the market.
League was the first fully free to play mobas and one of the earliest and most successful free to play games in general.
LOR was and is the only hearthstone-esque games to not be pay to win. It is genuinely not profitable, they can only keep it going because their other games do well profit-wise.
Valorant balances the concepts of fps and unique character abilities without leaning too heavy into either concept (unlike how csgo fully leans into standard fps or how overwatch fully leans into unique character abilities)
Even their 2xko has ways to differentiate itself from its competitors. Just because they don’t make the gameplay or concepts much different, doesn’t mean there is no differentiator. I find it crazy that people are upset with riot taking their time to make sure their MMO is actually good rather than shitting out a copy of what’s already on the market
literally lol their only good game was just DotA with a runeterra coat of paint.
The thing is
In my opinion Riot was never rly a visionary in the gaming industry fundamentals
They took what was there in the original Dota and made it better
They took Dota Auto-chess and made it better
They took what was there in CS and added their own spin to it
They took what was there in hearthstone and made their own game from it
They never reinvented the wheel, they just made some Damn good wheels
Why start now?
I'm sure an MMO that sticks to the basics of other MMO's already in the market and a few new and interesting mechanics that are always present in Riot games when compared to their competitors would have been a profitable approach, why give that up to make a "significant revolution of the genre"
They did not make things better for gameplay they just made it better for their revenue system..
Exactly. Riot hasn't made a single game/mechanic that made a precedent in the gaming industry. They making something that is not traditional is way more concerning than people think. People enjoy their games because they make what is rough out there better.

@@sonnyankau9239 which is completely fine, i personally don't mind grinding for a game but its the grind that most MMOs have that frustrates me. when it comes down to it almost every single MMO's combat is just "do rotation, if AOE is bad then move and if AOE is good then stand still" which is incredibly boring. i think its a good thing that the mmo really wants to try something different. the standard mmo is very flawed with grinding up until late game were you can finally have fun with raids, dungeons and getting loot.
the whole experience should be fun, arguably leveling and exploring the world SHOULD be the best part of it.
and again were thinking: dungeons, raids, levels, item levels, gear
imagine if they put a spin on it and actually not use any of those, instead focusing one creating your own abilities and find weapons that all use different playstyle instead of getting a knife that does 5 more dmg.
a new mmo should stand out, like REALLY stand out. with the way riot is talking i think they are trying exactly that
Have you played guild wars 2? If you haven't I think you might enjoy it because what you described is fairly applicable to GW2. Every weapon type has a different ability set and there's a huge focus on making the leveling process more enjoyable. Either way I'm excited to know it's not just going to be a traditional mmo because I could never get into WoW

A top laner can go ap hypercarry or be incredibly tanky. i was talking with a friend about this. i feel like if they made the league MMO to be more centric on learning the lore and quests, i'd love that. maybe make combat feel similar to league combat, but let you add abilities to QWERASDF. make the abilities fully customizable/piecemeal. certain races in certain areas can do quests to get ability components. so things like projectile, AOE, then element damage like electric, rock, fire, and shielding, healing components. if they can balance it well enough, the PVP scene may actually be really good, since no two people would have the exact same setup of skills, making its unpredictable.

What is problematic for me in "we don't believe you all want an MMO that you've played before" is that A LOT of people tried to improve the genra of what an MMORPG is, and failed.
Every time a company tried to make a new take on how an MMO should work, it ended up being worse than what theme park MMOs had to offer (ff14, WoW...)
Well, I AM hopeful that we will get an awsome new take on the MMO genra, just a bit sad that the chances of it being something I don't wish to play increased drasticly because of this decision.
I wouldn't have played a theme park again so this is only good news for me. I have played theme parks and they all end up as wasted time.
3:23 Runeterra fans want that, but not outsider MMO fans (who are the majority).
I REALLY hope they don't cancel this idea. I would love to play this.
16:28 You had to say you signed the NDA!!! hahaha
I knew it 😂
With the company lack of loyalty to its employees no wonder the Devs leave
no dev left here , or at least no one said anything about a dev leaving
"You justo wasted tour times watching this video" LOL, this is the first time I watch one of your videos and loved youe person, keep it up 👍🏽
I think a strategy game sent in Runeterra might be fun too :)
You should simply do other things until they arrive.
agreed. to me at this point even if it ever comes out it sounds like ill be too old and/or it will be something im not interested in.
"So overall what did we learn today? We learnt that nothing in our lives will change. And you just wasted your time watching this video."
Excellent
I already expected it to take many years. It's not like we are gonna be starved without good games until it comes out. I see this as good news and I hope they take the time they need to make the game as high quality as possible.
With this changes in production i see this as duke nukem 4...
So, true thats why I was hoping theyd go for the take a formula that works and make it riot, looking at valorant, 2XKO etc.
exactly, a "complete experience" if you will.
ur not wrong, riot does specialize a lot in taking established games and releasing a version that draws out the best in said games. however i also think thats also a large reason that riot wants to make this mmo truly "their own". people with actual eyes will know that riot just made as @negentropyagent7337 says "a complete experience". but people without eyes which seems to be quite a large number of degen dota wow cs and overwatch fans say: "Riot is just hard copying our popular games i have no idea why they are so popular how can they be better than our original games". and quite honestly i think that the degen opinion is being heard way more than the sensible one making riot right now having that label of being a copycat
I just want to go on an adventure again.
I still appreciate the copium videos.
I would play the crap out of something WoW-like set in Runeterra.
Guild wars being mentioned made me so happy, but it did make me realize necrit hasn't mentioned Runescape yet? (I could be wrong) but wasn't that huge back in the early 2000s? Or was it not an mmo >.> just made me wonder why
I'm really wondering if Ghostcrawler was "allowed" to announce the MMO back then. If not, that must've really screwed up Riot's marketting plans.
We LITERALLY do want a WoW reskin but with runeterra world. Can't believe tryndamere said that. Now ill have nightmares for next 10 years until i see what the fuck they are doing. Some closed world 'mmo' bullshit in isometric. lmao, fuck this
if it was anything like wow it would be awful. it needed to be more like FF14.
never heard of him@@saphcal
@@saphcalthey’re the same game
@@milkman2266 no theyre not lol
Take Garen, put him in third person view, let him be able to walk from shurima to piltover. thats all we want. Beefy guys with big swords, mounts, magical creatures to slaughter, tab targeting to turn our brains off IF you want to be fancy change our characters skins and make them sandy/dusty when we walk through deserts. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
man, just play wow
@@suemebanhmena, fuck blizzard. also i wanna see the wonders of runeterra not azeroth, been there, done that. for many years.
@@Wadenbeisser24 how was it
@@suemebanhmewow? it used to be fun, i came from korea grinder MMOs, unfortunately all the fun parts were removed from addon to addon they released and i got fed up.
@@Wadenbeisser24 i'm gonna be honest i started playing midst bfa and it was so hard to dive into the game cos theres just too much stuff , its overstimulating
It's hard to think about a game taking that long to come out after being hyped for it for a good bit. I'm looking forward to having an MMO set in the LoL universe.
At least we'll have the new upcoming EverQuest to tide us over until this hopefully releases.
