I don't think Kayle gave her a side eye that meant bad. Remember that shes stoic and rejected all emotions cuz she sees it as a weakness but I think in her eyes she is saying "now that's more like it, good work" kayle never once doubted Morgana's power and potential, she just sees her compassion as a form of weakness that holds Morgana down not knowing that it might be the opposite.
Kayle trying to act all stoic when she’s probably very conflicted about the differences between her and Morgana at this point. But great foreshadowing for never being able to understand why her sister will be able to resonate with mortals and protect people better than kayle can.
@@PentaKayle Do you even understand the lore of the twins? Kayle literally doesn't trust Morgana by this point due to her excessive want to help the helpless. This takes place after Morgana abandoned Kayle on the battlefield to help refugees over her sister. They have argued about how to use their powers since they manifested. The entire point of the dichotomy is to show Morgana has genuine concern for Kayle after they were tossed from the sky, and Kayle simply is disgusted by her weakness.
12:00 I love how Riot was consistent with Yasuo. Almost all of the village is on fire, there are dozens of corpses on the ground, but only in the very end that Yasuo comes to help, when almost all is over. Very reminiscing from how Yasuo works in-game, only arriving when the teamfight is over and managing to die anyway.
If you look closely in the Tryndamere fight, you can see him destroy the corporeal form of wolf 4 times turning him intangible which may signify the 4 soldiers he killed while leaving the other 2 for Ashe's arrows.
@@syncopatedglory Don't quote me on this, but I remember Kindred has always shown this kind of physical/spiritual parallelism. One of their earliest stories is of them reaping the dying on a battlefield, where Wolf's bites and Lamb's arrows happen simultaneously with whatever blow kills them in reality, and the writing style frames the two actions as the same thing. Kindred don't appear to hunt your ghost down *after* you die, like what we see with the azakana that Yone challenged along the Path. Kindred are direct spiritual reflections of your death.
@@syncopatedglory Though they are in many ways a representation fr your coming death, they are very much there. Just think of them as an overlay to the "real" world. When tryndamere uses his last death ability , he is able to see into the "overlay" that Kindred dwell. He is still fighting soldiers in the "real" world, but is really fighting Kindred. This is shown when you look at his pauldron. It is unblemished at the start of the fight, but after the fight with Kindred, it has the marks of Wolf, a bite of teeth. Now, you could say that one of the soldiers had a claw like weapon that actually left the mark, but I only saw swords and axes laying on the ground.
Something I found really cool is that lamb doesn't take much effort when trying to kill tryndamere, it's quite the opposite, she shoots a few arrows that tryndamere easily stops with no harm. That's really smart because lambs arrow is supposed to mercifully and quickly take down those that accept death, while wolf brutally hunts down those who try to avoid it, so it makes sense Lamb only watches and eventually offers tryndamere a peaceful death, but since tryndamere refuses to die he stops lambs arrow with no effort while he does struggle to fight against wolf. Man that scene was awesome.
That also goes directly to the opposite way that Yasou handles it, he simply accepts his death and takes 1 arrow from Kindred, while Wolf never touches him!
Is it also possible that tryndamere wasn't refusing to die but instead refusing to take a peaceful, swift and accepted death (from Lamb) but preferred Wolf to where he would fight for life or death? Similar to Norse mythology which I'm sure Trynd reflects to an extent
@@grismprism7901 Lamb is there when a gun takes someone's head off, she is there when a sword strikes true. Wolf is there when the bullet is dodged, when the strike is parried, and an onslaught follows.
I can’t get over kindred getting the love in this, and like man did they do them justice, kindred is a one of a kind character lore and design, just amazing
Kindred is hard to use in lore as an impersonal force of reality, but they really made it work here. This is a violent and dangerous world, so many people would face the Kindred at some point. Letting Kindred be a part of their stories without taking over itself.
Love how? All I see is my jg fully trolling, watch enemy top slaughter my top and sp, then immediately turning friendly fire on to kill my own mid and then immediately dying to there jg tryna and bot Ashe💀💀
@@rustkarl Exactly, it really shows that Kindred is always there, in the past, present and future and just chillin (except with trynda) before claiming others life
@@corndealer3290 yep, men out here talking about a cinematic for a video game that you play 18 hours a day, yep such a men thing to do. go touch some grass lil bruv.
Another great detail about Tryndamere's last fight: there are 6 enemies coming towards him. In the fight with Wolf, he strikes 4 times as if he hit something. Some were blocks, but there were 4 full on attacks. Kindred seemed to stop when Ashe fired two arrows at the two remaining enemies, saving Tryndamere from death. No more danger remained at that moment, so Kindred stopped / faded away.
See, something I find weird is that, when Ashe appears, she looks behind in the direction Tryndamere was fighting wolf in, with a curious look on her face, almost like she was saying, “what were you looking at?”
Trynda was fighting with Wolf but when two arrows were shot, Lamb faded away and transformed into Ashe. I think this part was written beautifully. Kindred was just a metaphor and fits the theme just right.
Probably my favorite part has to be the stark contrast between old Yasuo accepting his death (so Lamb takes his life with a single arrow while Wolf lurks in the shadows) and Tryndamere refusing to die and takes on both Lamb and Wolf. Considering that even Lamb was even trying to take Trynd's life along with Wolf shows that there's a part of Trynd that wants to die peacefully, but his undying rage prevents him from doing so. This cinematic is just fanservice for Kindred fans.
A lot of people don't realize that Trynda was actually fighting the soldiers at the beginning all along, Kindred was just there as kinda like a hologram, the thing that decides if he dies or not is his fight with the soldiers.
I'm not sure about this whole accepting death thing. I'm pretty sure he's just spam pinging his w that he just used. (Yasuo): Wait for W - 5s (Yasuo): Wait for W - 5s (Yasuo): Wait for W - 4s
You forgot to say one verrrrry nice detail that shows Tryndamere and Ashe love for each other. Even him being an ruthless warrior, when he sees Ashe, his undying rage calms, and his expression also changed. I love that detail. How they trust each other, how even such an agressive warrior can find calmness in someone he loves.
I don't think Trynda refuses death, I believe he's cursed and can't actually have the choice to either accept it or refuse, he's cursed to keep fighting and not die, that's why the Lamb actually tries to shoot him in unison with the Wolf a few times... This may also be hinted by the fact Trynda not only deflects the Wolf, but he dashes and tries to attack the Lamb, which represents a harmless and peacefull creature.
@@Mostbeelamb represents acceptance of death by arrow, wolf represents unwillingness to die by teeth and giving wolf the chase so it's most likely Tryndamere is conflicted he wants to give up or not
@@benjamintarr8330 Which is where Ashe arriving breaks the illusion - she's his reason for living. I do disagree with Necrit on Trynd's bit - it did actually happen that he was fighting Kindred. The darkness is reminiscent of her ult. If you accept death Lamb shoots you, if you flee from death wolf gives chase, but if you stand and defy it you can live another day.
It's actually cool how the kindred is portrayed in yasuo's scene. The wolf usually chases his prey if they run, which is what Yasuo did his whole life. It is also why we see wolf waiting for him to run again, but because Yasuo is now content with his end, Lamb instead shoots her arrow
Do keep in mind in the Lore of Kindred, if you were bit by Wolf it was supposed to symbolise a slow and painful death, while if you was struck by Lambs arrow it was supposed to symbolise a swift and painless death, Yasuo if he was running from fate for so long, wolf was already prepared to take his life, but its interesting how its both the arrow and also the wolf. Keep in mind the fight of Tryndra, wolf is continuously attacking first for me just honestly means that due to his choices in life have lead to a painful death. Kindred is the entity of Death itself, iv even got a tattoo of it as I do just love the symbolic message it has.
The snowflake at 23:12 was actually from Ashe's hawkeye (E ability) which she uses to find him. In the cinematic, you can hear her E sound effect and see a round explosion right when Yasuo's scene transitioned to Tryn's scene. Later on then she uses her 2nd hawkeye at the end to alert a backup (or for whatever reason). Just a minor detail you didn't mentioned here.
A cool detail is how Lamb’s shots are super easy to parry or block. It’s like she’s repeatably giving Trynd a chance to accept her arrow and die peacefully, but he keeps rejecting it.
I think there is a cool detail that you forgot to mention in the Yasuo scene. After he casts the wind wall, the leader of the bandits turns away and starts running, obviously recognizing that they're fighting none other than Yasuo himself, and he gets surprised and scared because of that. I think that implies that there is a legend or a story about Yasuo going around years after he had already stopped using the wind technique, and people are still afraid of what he can do to them if he wanted to, despite not knowing if he's still alive at all.
Something else to point out is that the bandits actually pay attention when his face is revealed properly indicating that they know who he is. He only starts running when he starts using his wind which to me makes it seem that people know he's not supposed to be using it for whatever reason. Yasuo also seemingly accepting his death because he broke whatever that reason was.
It's like that scene from rogue one. Where the rebels, for years, heard stories of the force and the warriors who use it. To them, it was just plain myth, until they saw a red light opening up in the dark and soon realized it was a lightsaber being held by one of the most horrifying figures in the stories they have heard. A juggernaut about to slay you like some ant.
@@thetruekakokun865 I have to disagree, I think they just sees him as an old guy. Then starts running when he realises that it's actually yasuo and not some old guy. My thought is that yasuo hasn't been active for years and has become more of a myth.
It's also very interesting to notice the symbolisms into the Kindred's actions: -In Aatrox's "death", the only one who comes for him is the lamb, because he accepts it and actively wants to die, even though it does nothing and fades away, as Aatrox is immortal; -On Yasuo's scene, we first see the wolf together with the rain of arrows, indicating that he could still fight against his fate or, in other words, he could still block those arrows and keep on fighting, which is what he "always did" throughout his life, indicating that the Kindred expected him to fight once again. Yasuo himself, however, doesn't wanna keep on fighting anymore, as we could clearly notice from his expressions and hesitancy to use both sword and wind once again, and as he accepts it, he instead receives the arrow of the lamb; -And as Tryndamere fights the Kindred, we can notice that the lamb barely fights, as it's duty is for the ones who accept death, rather than fight against it. But there is one more catch: as the fight ends, the lamb was clearly charging one last shot, more focused on it than in the previous ones, which could indicate that he would have no choice but to accept death, as he could be reaching his "limit" on immortality (just like it happens in game, where it's restricted by a set duration), and it only gives up on the shot as Ashe saves him from two warriors who were about to stab him from behind; so what it seems to me is that if Ashe had not shown up at that moment and saved him from those two, he would've actually died. This also leaves us to theorize whether Ashe's appearance really "pulled him out" of the undying rage, or if he was actually just about to hit his limit regardless. Edit: One last detail that I forgot is that it would've been the third arrow in the fight, just like in Kindred's E, which could mean some sort of "confirmation" of his death. I do know that in-game the lamb would just direct the wolf in the last attack, rather than shooting another arrow, but here the circumstances are different, I don't think it takes away from the point, and it probably intentional as well.
@@Zoom03352 Yeah, because Ashe saved him, which meant he didn't have to fight for his life any longer. As other comments mentioned, you can see that he strikes about 4 times, and 4 of the previous warriors were on the ground afterwards, meaning that the fight against Kindred was basically a representation of him fighting for his life, while he was actually fighting the warriors in the "real world". And that's precisely why I believe there's a chance that he actually would've died if Ashe didn't come to rescue him right on time.
@@Zoom03352thats because kindred isn't a physical being but an aspect of the universe being death, kindred does not need to see ashe or see her shoot the arrows to know that trynd is not going to die.
@@Arirezz thank you! I was about to say the same. There is so much depth in this scene. The only thing I would disagree with Necrits Interpretation is that Tryn sees Ashe at the beginning. I think it's already the lamb (Death) coming for him.
7:20 I think this is actually a reference to Morgana's ultimate ability, which would explain why it took such pained concentration from her to cast as it's a kind of channeled ability before it fully triggers it's root/"bind" in game.
Isn't her ability in canon like a soul judgement magic or something? Where her magic makes the affected person feel the pain of their sins which is essentially her "judgement" on people.where if you can withstand your sins then you are free otherwise you died from it. Similar to Ghost rider's Penance Stare except I think she also feels the pain cast on the person. Which is why she looks to be in so much pain when casting it on Aatrox(you can only imagine how many sins he accumulated)
I love how they portray Kindred. It seems like she's not actually there, but when Tryndamere is close to death, she appears as the enemies he's fighting. When Ashe saves him, Kindred lowers her bow because it's not his time to go yet.
@@egyroljaniah4864 its easily confised tho, cus when u play kindred in league, u play the lamb. kindreds voicelines is often delivered by the lamb, a female voice. the wolf is often portrayed as the lambs companion, or at least its easily percieved that way. even tho theres lines like "never one(lamb), without the other(wolf)" that does clear it up. i dont think its hard for ppl to confuse kindred as the lamb, while wolf is just the companion. with how league and LoR always seems to portray lamb as the "leader" of the duo, i kinda cant rly blame ppl for thinking lamb is kindred, and that kindred is a she. i mean, heck, even after knowing all of the lore here, its still slightly wonky, in a good way tho. kindred is literally death itself. its just portrayed in such a unique way. i especially love the part where we learned that what u believe in is what u see. such as ionians canonically seeing the spirit blossom kindred, and some regions being more focused on either the wolf of lamb (if im not wrong, think demacians see lamb more central, and noxians see the wolf as more central)
It's not as if Kindred decided that Trynda should not die today, it's more like Kindred is there to claim Trynda's death that is about to be at the hands of that tribe. Kindred realizes that Trynda is going to be "saved" and therefore can no longer claim Trynda's death that was supposed to be at the hands of the tribe. Kindred fades with the appearance of ashe
Yasuos death is actually perfect for his character. He spent his entire life running away from his mistakes and in the cinematic he finnaly choses to protect Ionia and dies a hero.
Indeed. It made me shed a tear seeing how he reached ''i have no enemies'' stage in his life after so much death and suffering. It is the perfect death for the character...even though I'm not a fan of yasuo players xd
I mean, in his skin announcement recall animation, we see arrows flying at him and he destroys all of them, so, it can be some kind of hint that he doesn't die there and reflect all of them
@@raizo2370 No, he definitely dies, this cinematic is a "potential future", Yasuo's recall animation is the other potential future. 1. The fact he saw the Wolf means his time has come, he chose to peacefully die with Lamb's arrow. 2. In the recall animation of the foreseen yasuo skin, you can see after he deflects the arrows, the Wolf appears and attacks him as he refused to accept death, Yasuo then falls to his knee.
we don't know it's Ionia, it might actually be Freljord, and we don't know if he dies. Plenty of time to windwall. Also, it's only what's forseen. And is it just me or is this kind of a disapointing death? Like, sacrifcing himself against a powerful enemy, sure, but dying to bandits... idk.
This was definitely one of, if not THE BEST cinematic rito has released in terms of how in sync the music, animation, and the overall theme was presented.
I remember there's a quote that says, "Those who accept death will face Lamb and those who flee from it will face Wolf" which means that Yasuo has accepted death in the cinematic since we can see that he was about to get hit by Kindred's arrow. This also means that since Tryndamere is fighting both the Wolf and the Lamb, he is accepting his death but still fights to prevent it (or "flee" from it).
thats a very amazing theory, i like it so much and makes so much sense!!! i dont like necrits idea that kindered wasnt really there and trynda was just hallucinating
@@BD-rj8wb its not a theory. he strikes the wolf 4 times and there are 4 out of the 6 dead and 2 left which Ashe kills. Ashe would have shot 3 arrows if she could have seen Kindred, does not make sense for her not to at all. if you know Kindred's lore it also adds to it being in his mind/a visual of the show realm. its not really a hallucination, he was able to see both worlds at once cuz of his curse
The best part is that at some point in the past, Lamb and Wolf were the same entity who due to the loneliness of being the grim reaper (everyone he met was about to die) he splitted himself into two entities so he would have a friend and not be alone anymore, now becoming the Lamb and the Wolf.
Also Kindred is only seen moments before death itself to mortals, which is why in the scene Tryndamere sees himself fighting against Kindred in reality he is fighting off actual people.
Also, worth pointing out Morgana's lil baby shoulder wings compared to Kayle's fully developed ones, despite them being the same age. Shows how Morgana wasn't quite "taking" to divinity as easily as Kayle.
Technically yes but no at the same time, even though Morgana is an aspect and she takes after her mother she also takes after her human father unlike Kayle which has the full set of wings just like her mother, it isn't that Morgana's wings are under developed, it's that she never had the additional set unlike Kayle.@@rchie5241
I absolutely love the scene with Trynd, just battling literal death while tearing through actual enemies and at the end his wife comes in to assist him and calms the rage. The look in his eyes when he sees Ashe is so cute!
I definitely like Wolf's design better in the cinematic. Kindred and her approach and everything in this was honestly the best portrayal of kindred. I heard some people say that Kindred seems scary. And I love that, because she should be considering such a design that is so pure.
The Kindred were always so fascinating as a psychopomp Avatar of Death character in League, made better by their color story. To see it finally given form in a cinematic and it being such a beautiful and haunting portrayal made me so happy. When they try, Riot just doesn't miss.
kindred should be scary being the god of death, I wish they did a better job at making them in-game, they feel pretty bad thematically ingame but very cool concept that they unfortunately couldnt deliver on in-game, some champions when you play them you just feel like THAT champion- I get none of that feeling when I play kindred
How balanced would it be from a game perspective to play as literal death¿ I doubt it would be at all lol. Kinda hard to make it feel like that in game but at the same time if you really think about it, you can feel that way when playing Kindred. When you mark someone they usually sit under their tower or run away. Kind of like death is coming for them and they know it. When Kindred shows up if they just run away you can easily kill them. This would be the Lamb's version of taking a soul. If they stay and fight Kindred's w summons Wolf and then you have the Wolf's version of taking a soul. The fact that you can mark people for death literally could give you that feeling of "Hey I am playing death and I am coming to kill you" which is what I think they were going for. If you do not feel that way I think it might be because you are thinking about Kindred lore wise which in this case would probably make anyone not feel like Kindred is actual death because you can die yourself in game AS Kindred lol. Some champs definitely give the feeling of lore accuracy but the more powerful they are lore wise, the harder it is to make that feeling in game imo. Aol makes universes but can die to a fed Teemo shroom in game xD @@GreyGrim
The relationship between Morgana and Kayle was depicted to perfection. Morgana giving everything she has to protect everyone and what she got in return was that look of disdain from Kayle. Almost made me feel like Morgana cared more for her sister then she does about her.
Speaking of little details- the wolf does not only has his eyes glowing within the trees, the trees are also shaped so that they look like top of his head- you can see those 2 pointy ears made of them! Really cool how Riot can absolutely kill it everytime, and I can't even imagine the genius people behimd its lore.... Well done Necrit! 😉🧡
"Got my heel crushing the snake There is nothing you can take In my blood, it's in my veins I'm still here eh eh eh eh eah" I love the song man it is fking epic
These were "horns" (and not just typical ones). Mixed with few other instruments like drums and probly cellos. People really need to give some respect for classical instruments - which create most epic soundtracks in the end, and from which all refferences in music come till this day. Well atleast you didn't call it it a scretch.
Lore-wise, this cinematic might be their best. Its so rich and interesting especially when you know the implications behind some of what is shown, so awesome.
Great breakdown as always, and wow what a cinematic! Just to throw my 2 cents in the ring, in the last scene when Ashe arrives and replaced the Lamb, I interpreted that not as Kindred "giving up", but more like: when Tryndamere is alone fighting, his life is at risk, but at when Ashe arrives, the circumstances change, and Kindred is no longer needed. Without Ashes arrival, I believe Kindred would have stayed until Tryndamere himself killed enough enemy warriors to secure his own life, Ashe just hurried the process along.
I feel like the reason why lamb stopped attacking tryndamere wasn't because she thought tryndamere couldn't be killed, but more of because ashe arrived. Tryndamere literally fought death long enough for help (ashe) to arrive and that's how he can avoid his death by his enemies. If ashe didn't arrive, I think he would succumb to death when his immortal state wears off, or unless his immortal form stays on forever (as long as trynd wants it on), they might keep fighting and idk what goes on after that.
It's not just ashe came, it's also the kindred thought it's not his time yet. Death is a metaphor. He's fighting winter's claw and death at the same time. You can literally say vidually that that's what happened but kindred as death in this context shadows the "literal" aspect of things. Tryndamere is the barbarian king and he'll not struggle vs random soldiers lol, him struggling vs wolf shows that, death is claiming him but he's fighting it. Lamb thinking is not his time yet coincides with Ashe coming, it's not just becaue Ashe came that's why Lamb stopped. They cannot alter reality. Doesn't mean ashe came to help that's ehy lamb stopped, lamb stopped thinking it's not tryndamere's time yet was shown by ashe coming to help. Death is a metaphor as kindred
@@skdonnieeSpirits absolutely can alter reality in Runeterra, just take Janna as an example. I don't think it's fair to conclude either of these things though as we just lack information on how exactly Kindred operates. Based on what we know I believe both of these explanations could be correct, along with many other possibilities, we just don't have a lot of information to narrow it down further.` For example... > Lamb thinking is not his time yet coincides with Ashe coming, it's not just becaue Ashe came that's why Lamb stopped. How do you know what Lamb is thinking?
Lamb = Acceptance of Death Wolf = Running from Death (Lamb disappearing is like a metaphor that Trynd doesnt want to accept death anymore and killing all enemies cancels the Wolfs death also if you see your wife as Ashe your rage will go off who wasnt? jk it means he wants to live and doesnt want to accept death cause his waifu arrives...)
Tryndamere couldn't be killed. Unless Aatrox stabs him in the chest. If you look in his lore, even on other skins he's like Wolverine, but with magic twist
I like to think that the final scene with Yasuo is an open ending because his in-game ability is to dash to the person he knocked up with the tornado. He can either accept death by staying where he is, or dodging kindred/a volley of arrows through a version of his in-game ult. I don’t think he knocked the main bad guy out of the harms way, I think he set himself up for an escape, leading to an open ending
Absolutely what I thought, we even see him use his Ultimate on a knocked up enemy in Kin of the Stained Blade, so it's not just an ingame thing but something he is actually able to do.
Another detail is that before he cuts off the bandit's arrow, he closes his eyes. And before the lamb's arrow ends the scene, he closes his eyes again.
I also liked that you can vaguely hear Yone's theme, Yasuo's brother, when he was about to pick up the sword. The sound that was in their separate cinematic called ,"Kin of the Stained Blade," I think...
I loved the detail in Yasuo's fight were he starts by breaking an arrow, then he deflects them with his wind wall but in the end he decides to embrace his destiny and accepts death. Meaning that even after all his fighting he still decides to take the Lamb's offer and go in peace.
Man i love Kindred so much, perhaps the most unique and creative character in LoL, my favorite quote from them is “Never one without the other” indicating that Lamb and Wolf are symbiotic, emphasizing their inseparable connection and balanced existence. It also underlines the idea that life and death are intertwined in a cycle, with one always accompanying the other.
I think Kindred is quite a bit more profound than that, actually. Yes, you are absolutely right that everything about Kindred screams the concept of Yin and Yang. You have Lamb and Wolf; female and male, light and dark, culture and nature, poetic and instinctual, patient and impatient, detached and enraged. And yet, Kindred is a symbol of Death, and Lamb and Wolf both represent death. So rather than there actually being a distinction between Life and Death, perhaps we are being told that there is no such distinction or opposite - the only meaningful, real distinction is the attitude towards mortality: acceptance or refusal to accept. If you really want to go even further, that is actually what many truly great stories of our modern society is about. Star Wars gives us Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda, both accepting death, and the story is about the dichotomy of that versus fighting Death in fighting Darth Vader. Harry Potter makes it even more obvious; Dumbledore and Harry's mother both accepts death, whilst Voldemort destroys his soul in his battle against death. Even the biblical story of Jesus is maybe in some sense about Jesus' accepting to be killed. And Kindred represents exactly that essence, I think.
There is one small detail that would have made Yasuo's death a lot more satisfying and that would be if Wolf had closed his eyes after Yasuo closed his symbolizing Wolf ending the chase. This would put more emphasis on the fact that Yasuo accepted his death because he knew if he had tried the wind wall he would have failed and faced Wolf, so Yasuo instead chooses to take the painless death over the vicious one and accepts the arrow from Lamb.
That's not really true though. Kindred doesn't really kill you. They only "kill" you when you would already be killed. If Yasuo Wind Walls here, he'd block the arrows and not be in any immediate danger, hence Kindred would either disappear, or not ever appear.
@byeguyssry9431 sure, but what I said was IF Yauso used the wind wall, he would have to face Wolf instead of Lamb because he would be resisting his fate. If Yasuo wasn't making a choice then why did he get struck by Lamb's arrow and instead of Wolf's jaws? If he could have used the wind wall and survived then why didn't he?
@@StrictlyDeft I like to think his windwall was on a CD of some sort, BUT he did have the option to ult the man after using his Q on him to escape the arrows. However this would kill the man and leave him fighting the army in the forest (a violent death, indicated by wolf's eyes in the forest). Instead he decided he'd rather die than to take another life, accepting death and Lamb's arrow.
I perceived the Trynd and kindred scene differently. Although he was fighting the soldiers in real time i believe kindred actually came for him and he didn't make it up in his head. kindred came to claim Trynd and was going to succeed. She only stopped because Ashe came and killed the two soldiers that would've killed Tryndamere. Ending the scenario in which he dies. so kindred no longer saw it necessary to attempt to claim him and left him be.
Cool thing about that is ashe would have been too late and tryn would have died but his undying rage allowed him to stay alive long enough for ashe too be able to make difference. Essentially the only reason kindred came to reap him was because they genuinely thought that that was his time and it should have been, but the blood magic changed the outcome.
@Necrit I would like to point out, that the text (lyrics) "it's in my blood, in my veins" is drop while Aatrox drops down, and then it's repeated when Trynda is on scene, Absolutely perfect detail
Another detail I noticed during Tryn’s scene with Kindred: it starts with a burst of snow which resembles the burst of vision of Ashe’s hawkshot. It’s probably how Ashe knew where to find him and rescue him just in time.
If you pay close attention to the start of the scene where Tryndamere fights kindred, when the camera angles to thy sky, you can see Ashes hawk shot detonate above Tryndamere, signaling help was on the way and since the hawk shot what shot by a bow made of true ice, the true ice weapon from Tryndamere easily absorbed the snowflake of true ice. There are so many cool and interesting details in this cinematic!
I'm soo glad you noticed the detail with tryndamere fighting the soldiers and not just the wolf but I'd like to add here that both of these could be happening at the same time because if you look closely before the arrows from Ashe came to save him, Lamb was about to shoot him again. But the arrows came from behind the Lamb and so it realised that Tryndamere was finally saved from death because of Ashe and there was no point to keep fighting him along with the wolf who just disappears as the two soldiers die and the Lamb disappears when Ashe arrives.
Good video as usual Necrit. If you look closely you can see Tryndamere was surrounded by 6 walking enemies at the start and during the vision he's able to "vanish" the wolf 3 times which I think reference him taking down 3 of the 6 guys during the rage plus 1 guy the guy that is charging towards him when Ashe appears and then Ashe taking the last 2 at the end. Like you could see the fight against 6
Been waiting since the premier for this breakdown. I'm just ecstatic that Kindred has finally been featured in a cinematic and boy was that Tryn fight fire.
Personally I like to imagine that Lamb and Wolf really were there for Trynd, following the attacks from the warriors, like how Lambs arrow is amongst the volley of arrows heading towards Yasuo. Death was following those fatal attacks, and so Trynd did beat death for another day while also killing those around him, and it wasn’t just his imagination
@orabijuu8550 Yeah, that call out was a bit sus from necrit. None of them had weapons that would leave marks like that. He was clearly fighting both the warriors and kindred in body and spirit respectively at the same time.
I like to think that, since it's hinted that this isn't Tryndamere's first encounter with Kindred, Kindred actually sort of "respects" his will to not die across their various encounters, and Lamb mimics the shots of the real people while Wolf teleports around to the positions of the enemy swordsmen, allowing Tryndamere to kill them in the real world while beating back death itself in the death realm, intentionally giving Trynd the opportunity to live.
You know when they say it is his imagination, they don’t actually mean that hes just “imagining” it. It just means Kindred is present for him and him only. It would not make sense for everyone else to see them when it is only Trynd’s time to die. Their fight is very real and not just something he makes up in his head. Personally I believe that they take form in the things that are supposed to kill you in the physical realm, like in Yasuo’s case where Kindred’s arrow takes form as one of the arrows within the volley and Aatrox where Kindred materializes in the flames that kill him. Kindred is taking form in the warriors surrounding Tryndamere.
small thing i noticed is at 15:30 the older dude without the mask IMMEDIATELY fled as soon as he saw the wind. As if he knew who he was dealing with at that moment, while the younger masked ones fighted on.
Man, the visuals are so great. I especially love everything about the Kindred and that fight overall. And how they are present in every one of the scenes.
A bit on the lyrics from what I noticed. These are just my thoughts.: "Got my heel crushing the snake" - A biblical reference to Christ (the heel) crushing the snake (Satan - the Hebrew word for Satan meaning adversary). Satan being the catalyst that introduced death to all humans. As a result, death, being the adversary of all living things (depicted as Kindred), is being crushed or rejected but will catch up to everyone eventually. Seeing Ashe show up at the end made me tear up as well. Not just because I'm an Ashe main. You can see the love for her in Tryn's eyes. My Queen! The scene with Morgana screaming give me the chills no matter how many times I rewatch it. Tryn had that Ned Stark look from Game of Thrones.
I had a very different interpretation of Tryndamere. I think that when he went to his undying rage he confronted death - Kindred. She is symbolism as well as reality; you don't necessarily fight her physically. It was a metaphysical battle as he defied death mapped onto his battle with the warriors who should have killed him. Which is real seems blurred to me. They both are, I suspect. Ashe's arrival signaled the end of the conflict and so they vanished. He didn't imagine it, however; Wolf and Lamb came for him in the guise of those attacking warriors, and Tryndamere conquered death yet again. They are, after all, death itself. This might hint at the nature of undying rage.
I agree with you. I think kindred was really there in the form of the warriors wanting to take his life and not just trynda imagining it. It makes the entire scene also so much more meaningful
"Everyone (who believes in them) that dies has a direct interaction with Kindred. Some get to meet them earlier, others only at the moment of death. People who have near death encounters can see Kindred. "
My headcanon is that kindred really *was* gonna kill trynd at the end as those two last soldiers ambushed him (ult ran out lol), but since she could sense ashe coming to rescue him she knew his time wasnt up yet. Really awesome storytelling in this cinematic and great analysis!
I love how Riot reference the abilities while making them so fluid and seamless, sometimes even unoticeable if u don't really pay attention, like Kayle unlocking passive , Yasuo doing the classic E spam through minions with EQ too! Trynda spinning to reach Kindred, the Kindred W as death realm or the little Q jump while dodging! love it! And also the interpretation of lane minions is top quality like in every cinematic as bandits, soldier, rascals ecc. Amazing. PS: i want a zilean as cool as this yasuo next time.
I just realized, when Wolf was staring directly at Yasuo, Wolf had yellow eyes instead of the normal blueish purple eyes that he usually sports... Which actually matches with the eyes of the spirit blossom kindred skin...
One of the things i hadn’t noticed, thats so fucking cool. That could imply that while the cultures may have different interpretations of death, they ultimately share a common (true) ancestor story of kindred.
Oh my gosh, I didn’t think I would guess right! After watching it a few times, I started to think Tryndamir while fighting with Lamb and Wolf. The way they faded away, Ashe joining the fight, and seeing the warriors right behind him who got shot by Ashe’s arrows. I started to wonder if what Tryndamir saw was Kindred, but who he was fighting was the warriors, any of their attacks being what would “kill” him. I also started to think that maybe this is what always happens when Tryndamir’s undying rage goes off, him seeing Kindred again and fighting Lamb and wolf off while his physical body fights on against his enemies.
he's fighting both at once physically and spiritually 1. no weapon shown in the cinematic could produce 4 parallel cuts in one strike like the wolf's claw mark. 2.Tryndamere was reacting to the arrows none of the soldiers have arrows 3. the wolf representing the soldiers he's fighting is false because we can clearly see that when it transitioned back to reality the 2 soldiers that were left were behind Trynd while the wolf was in front of him 4. Trynd was focused and attacked someone in front of him, and yet its revealed that the 2 enemies that are left are both behind him.
Wait a sec, if kindred is the character most featured in this season, maybe, just maybe, an actual champion will die? Maybe in arcane or other projects? This would actually be insane! And having the possibility of death for any character would make the stakes a lot highier!
@@justsomeguywhoneverdies9210 but that aint carved in the lore, It doenst have consequences, It is just a vision/what If that we dont even know If It will actually happen. I want actual deaths that changed the universe and its lore! And watching Arcane knowing that the Champions wont die just cause they're in the game, takes out a lot of the stakes.
idk man maybe he uses his last breath ability after he knocks the bandit up with his tornado. We never get the end of that scene@@justsomeguywhoneverdies9210
I believe that the Kindred vs. Trinda doesn't happens "in his mind", but in an "arena" created by the Kindred - its their W skill "Wolf's Frenzy" where you create a blueish area for the wolf to hunt in!
That is one of the best cinematics riot released in years. Gotta love the unwordly unnerving vibe Kindred gives, as well as the small tilt she makes with her head when Trynda not only refuses to die, but also almost hits her with sword. 10/10 I forgive you last year cinematic
Haven't seen too many people mention this but yeah 100% they nailed Lambs movements, calm and elegant yet unnerving and eerie at the same time. It's like they managed to translate how she moves from her voice alone. Haunting yet beautiful.
Amazing cinematic, one of the best if not the best imo. I think all 3 parts are incredible. Seeing the duality of Morgana and Kayle from such a "young age" is incredible and gives so much depth to their characters instead of just being good vs bad sisters. I also really like how Yasuo supposed death contrasts with his whole life. In ""Kin of the stained blade" Yone points out how Yas is always running, always fighting, and then when he's old, he just embraces a quick and painless death by the Lamb instead of a more violent end brought by the Wolf. Also, seeing trynda supposedly fend off literal Death (even tho it was all most likely in his head) was such a treat. Kindred design in this is the highlight for me, its an amazing capture of their mythical apperance, a rough wolf and a elegant lamb
I love this cinematic, bu my fav part is probably with Tryndamere and how his undying rage is portrayed as literally fighting off death. Also, I love the animation of his face when he comes to his senses and realizes that it's Ashe who came for him. Chef's kiss.
I've always loved Kindred, seeing them in a cinematic amazing. Though I do find it disappointing that Riot wouldn't commit to Yasou's death, it undercuts the weight of the scene by saying it's "possible" future events.
in the scene with kayle using both sword and releasing her flames she also started to levitate before using them, meanwhile morgana kept staying on the ground while using her own magic that was a small detail but a really good one considering that morgana when she leaves her role as twin aspect of justice decides to walk on mortal ground while kayle sees herself as above mortals and hence why her levitating
HE DID THE POSE! Also after being a necrit follower for over half a decade, I can proudly say that he has taught me well and I did get these references for the most part. Obviously, I'm "Still Here" because Necrit will explain stuff I couldn't even see!
To be more precise, the Aspect of Twilight, the aspect that Zoe represents, was the one that taught humans how to trap the Darkin in their weapons. Which I always found funny because considering that aspect is a trickster to some extent they did it as a "prank".
What I love about the Tryn/Kindred scene is the fact that the Kindred each have their designated targets; Lamb shoots those accepting death, Wolf hunts down those who reject it AND THEN TRYNDAMERE IS SO STUBBORN THAT THEY BOTH HAVE TO TEAM UP TO TAKE HIM DOWN AND NOT EVEN THAT IS ENOUGH
This might sound crazy But I think that although Ash did not see Kindred, she felt her presence. We can see this very well when Ash comes near trynda and looks back curiously as if someone has left her. This is just my opinion. Great breakdown as always 😊❤
@@alilith3476 ya ya ash didn't see Kindred. But i think she felt something. Trailers like these don't add random shots like that without a purpose. But of course we'll never know the truth.
Love the twist of the evil looking Morgana with magic being ironically kinder than the ideal poster girl for justice. Also would be more fitting if Aatrox became a war monster simply cause only the celestial beings could kill him. And only by threatening the world would they ever give him the hope of death by intervening.
League lore is very underrated and is a tribute to how League used to be before they become so focused on competitive play. I love the subtle reference they make just like how Zed and Akali are actually more alike than most people reasize
A cool detail that I haven't seen anyone talking is that Morgana is not only holding Aatrox, but also the whole army behind him (the purple light of her magic can be seen very briefly in the background)
This cinematic was just spectacular, from Kindred vs Trynd, Old Yasuo, Kayle and Morgana VS Atroxx and the fact that Kindred got Animated. It is a total feast and I wouldn't have it any other way.
What I noticed as I’m a lore freak as well. - 1. Kindred’s quote at the beginning is a nice way to compliment the Music Video & it’s title “Still here” 2. Kayle’s wings seem to growing upwards while Morgana’s wings are growing downwards. Subtle referencing of how Kayle always feel high & might, looks up to their mother. While Morgana has the opposite view of what Kayle sees & feels. Another far-fetch is that referencing how Kayle is never on the ground & always looking down on others, While Morgana is always on the ground, able to judge everything equally Morgana choosing & embracing her magic, knowing they will lose that fight if she didn’t do so. And Kayle’s side glanced could also just be Kayle’s condescending attitude 3. Yasuo being a ronin reminds me of Kenshin Himura, the wandering samurai who made an oath to “No more killing” after they have shed countless blood. In the moment of Arrow Rain, i’m pretty sure Yasuo see the image of Wolf at the trees, possibly knowing that “If he keeps on resisting death, it will be much more painful. And if he chooses to accept death, it will be fast & swift, but peaceful” 4. Tryn’s on the verge of dying. I believe Kindred (Lamb & Wolf) did appear, not physically, but more of spiritually. Kindred only ever appears when a living being is on “Death’s door”, or another way to put it “moments/seconds/minutes before dying” you will see Kindred If you notice, Lamb barely attacked, and Wolf is the one that’s ferociously attacking Tryn. It’s cause Tryn is resisting trying to die, even before his iconic “Ultimate” kicks in. I think when Lamb shot a few arrows, it’s to “check” whether Tryn is accepting death or is still resisting. Tryn being able to break Lamb’s arrows tells me that Tryn is in a state of confusion & conflicted. Not knowing whether to accept death peacefully, or to keep trying & still fight for his life. Hence the lyrics “I’m Still Here”, it’s like Tryn argueing to Death itself, Kindred, that he is not dying just yet. Tryn almost hurting Lamb & Lamb vaulting backwards while giving the tilt of either confusion or curiosity to Tryn means they understand what’s going on. Lamb withdrawing her bow after fully drawing it, I believe it’s not because of Ashe coming to save him. It’s cause Tryn simply chooses not to die. Another note, the whole fight scene was dark & grey, colourless colours. The moment those two arrows that came from Ashe went past Lamb, there were colours & light. And it began to fill the environment with more light after.
Kindred is unironically one of the best depictions of Death. Not just in media, but like in all cultures. It's wild that such a flushed out "god/spirit" came from a game company.
This cinematic is just breathtaking. Especially the CGI and art just did it for me. Add amazing lore and soundtrack and boom, I am hooked on it for like an hour straight.
Aw always, great explaination Necrit! I'd like to make a correction at 9:05 tho. That's probably not the first time Aatrox got sealed, and here's why. When the Darkin got sealed, they still had their Ascended appearance, with some of them twisting it by using hemomancy. This look of Aatrox, that we normally see, is corrupted by hemomancy and the sealing magic, after the Darkin possesses a human body from its Darkin weapon. So, technically, Aatrox and other Darkin, such as Varus and Rhaast, eventually got caught at the end of the Darkin War (it has been specified that Varus was the very last one to be sealed), and only then, Aatrox was the first Darkin who came back to life, probably during Kayle and Morgana's time, about 500 years later
Necrit brought up a lot more nonsensical things even if we only talk about the Aatrox part. You also don't have the full picture, so I want to explain it to you. Aatrox was sealed in the Darkin wars, as confirmed in his story: "the newly reborn Aspect of War united many in fighting back against them. Never fearing any foe, Aatrox and his armies were ready, and he realized only too late that they had been deceived. A force greater than a thousand dead suns pulled him inside the sword he had carried into battle countless times, and forever bound his immortal essence to it" He also shapes himself similarly to his original form, and that is why he despises his current bodies. They are still just a mockery of his former divine strenght in his own eyes. Varus was also not the last Darkin to be sealed, as stated in his story: "Eventually, Varus was cornered by vastayan moon-stalkers and human mages in service of a golden-armored warrior queen of Valoran. They bound him within his bow, leaving him to howl in impotent rage. By then, the raw, corrupting influence of the darkin was known, and yet still the queen chose to wield the deadly weapon in the final days of the war, gladly sacrificing herself for a greater victory". He couldn't have been the very last, because then the war would have been over already. This golden queen the story mentions probably used him to defeat the remaining Darkin.
@@RinzlerLegacy Yes, thats what I said too. My point is, why would she use his bow, if the were no other Darkins left? There were others who had to be defeated after Varus got imprisoned, therefore he couldn't have been the last to be sealed.
@@tamas9554 you forget that the Darkin had armies of slaves and fanatics who were faithful to them. She probably used Varus to slay the last warriors that still wanted to continue the war.
@@RinzlerLegacy Not quite. Darkin weapons make someone very powerful. With the Aspect of war fighting with them, its unlikely that the remaining mortal hosts would have justified the usage of Varus, they were weak without their Gods. It was also never specifically stated that he was the very last one to be sealed, unlike what you believe
I got three points to mention: 1. 7:20 I think that that's actually Morgana's ultimate. As someone else has already pointed out, it would explain why it required more concentration from her and why it seemed to pain her. 2. While I agree that Tryndamere was probably imagining fighting Kindred, and he actually fought the other warriors around him, I also think that it's possible that he actually fought Kindred, while Ashe shot down the other warriors from a distance, and as he stopped hallucinating, Ashe just shot down the final two, and that's why there are no more enemies for them left on the scene. 3. 28:36 You can actually see two people dead right behind Tryndamere. It might just be that we can't see the arrow in the other one because of the camera angle. (To follow up my previous point: it would also explain that if Ashe shot down the all six warriors, why we cannot see more arrows. It might just come down to camera angle.)
The tryndamere/kindred interaction really makes me change my mind about the proposed trynd vgu from 2 years ago, I think. Incorporating more of this idea of "fighting off death" could be super cool
A little extra bit with Trynd's fight: He fought off Wolf four times, and there's four Winter's Claw members that died before Ashe got there; so each time Trynd cut Wolf to make him vanish, that was a WC viking getting cut down.
that doesn't make sense though because he clearly attacked Lamb, and when we came back to reality the 2 soldiers that were left ARE BEHIND TRYND, so what was Trynd fighting and focusing on? not only that, but the wolf is also in front of him which is not where the soldiers are
It should also be noted that Lamb takes those who willingly accept death while Wolf claims those who try to fight it. Yasuo accepted his death so, although Wolf was present in the trees, it was ultimately Lamb's arrow that claimed him. Meanwhile, Trynd refused to die and thus had to battle Wolf as well.
i dont play LoL, thats not my kind of game.. but god dammit, the lore behind this game and the champions is just astonishing. My deep dive into this started with arcane, since then i watched all cinematics and lore videos and its just amazing, how talented these writers from Riot are. the details, the power, the emotions, the tragics.. I cant wait to see the MMO and getting to experience all of this live in a game Great work @Necrit, i appreciate the fact, that ur videos are easily to understand for a non-native english speaker like me (thats also the reason for my bad english, sorry for that)
I love the coloring of Tryndamere's arc: - in the opening shot, showing him in the real world, it is tinted yellow - when we get back to him the setting shifts to cold blue and shadows - finally following Ashes arrows, we see the light return as a wave as we transition back into the real world Absolutely breathtaking
It was obviously done to be more of a cinematic transition between the death world and the real world, but from a storytelling perspective Lamb's form becoming Ashe might also be foreshadowing his death will come through her as a means to break the curse on him. Maybe the curse of immortality is that others who wish to take your life cannot, but when you give your life to someone else, they may end it. Both characters (ashe and lamb) are bound by their duty to deal with Tryndamere, use bows, and have impeccable sight. The super stretch here is that Lamb didn't stop BECAUSE the danger of Tryn dying was now over, but really because Ashe will finish the job in time.
I'll be honest. I expected this video to be longer. like at least double, but possibly up to quintuple. I'm impressed at the restraint Necrit, great video.
Gotta love morgana sacrificing almost everything she has, putting her life on the line to protect demacia, and Kayle gives her a fucking side eye
Bombastic side eye?
@@PentaKayle Do you even understand the lore of the twins? Kayle literally doesn't trust Morgana by this point due to her excessive want to help the helpless. This takes place after Morgana abandoned Kayle on the battlefield to help refugees over her sister. They have argued about how to use their powers since they manifested. The entire point of the dichotomy is to show Morgana has genuine concern for Kayle after they were tossed from the sky, and Kayle simply is disgusted by her weakness.
bambastic side eye 🙄😹
12:00 I love how Riot was consistent with Yasuo. Almost all of the village is on fire, there are dozens of corpses on the ground, but only in the very end that Yasuo comes to help, when almost all is over. If you look closely in the Tryndamere fight, you can see him destroy the corporeal form of wolf 4 times turning him intangible which may signify the 4 soldiers he killed while leaving the other 2 for Ashe's arrows.
With his spin he shattered the almost wooden bow of Kindred and in the zoom out of the last szene there is one shattered tree next to the corpses.
i wasn't into it not having been real til i saw this comment! nice 😃
@@Theeater126perfectly put 💯
Entire paragraph with nothing in it
Is it also possible that tryndamere wasn't refusing to die but instead refusing to take a peaceful, swift and accepted death (from Lamb) but preferred Wolf to where he would fight for life or death? Similar to Norse mythology which I'm sure Trynd reflects to an extent

Cool detail. I didnt notice that
PREACH.. attention to DETAIL lol I loved that scene so much
See, something I find weird is that, when Ashe appears, she looks behind in the direction Tryndamere was fighting wolf in, with a curious look on her face, almost like she was saying, “what were you looking at?”
He kinda strikes 6 times, but you can count it by being parried.

@@RealBloom Agree! None of the skins represent "death" more than the classic skin.

I wish we could get more insight into the relationship of Ashe and Trynd. Could be good material for a new series after Arcane.
The first wants to die, the second accepts death, the third refuses it. Also, lamb’s voice always gives me chills. Amazing.
@Mostbee I think he can, he just can't when he enters his berserk rage.
@@Mostbeelamb represents acceptance of death by arrow, wolf represents unwillingness to die by teeth and giving wolf the chase so it's most likely Tryndamere is conflicted he wants to give up or not

@@Kindred...lol
Kindred is the straight up poster character of this season and I love it sm
It's actually cool how the kindred is portrayed in yasuo's scene. The wolf usually chases his prey if they run, which is what Yasuo did his whole life. It is also why we see wolf waiting for him to run again, but because Yasuo is now content with his end, Lamb instead shoots her arrow
That's tryndamere

Director's cut bruh
Literally Kenshin Himura. xD
It's also very interesting to notice the symbolisms into the Kindred's actions:
-In Aatrox's "death", the only one who comes for him is the lamb, because he accepts it and actively wants to die, even though it does nothing and fades away, as Aatrox is immortal;
-On Yasuo's scene, we first see the wolf together with the rain of arrows, indicating that he could still fight against his fate or, in other words, he could still block those arrows and keep on fighting, which is what he "always did" throughout his life, indicating that the Kindred expected him to fight once again. Yasuo himself, however, doesn't wanna keep on fighting anymore, as we could clearly notice from his expressions and hesitancy to use both sword and wind once again, and as he accepts it, he instead receives the arrow of the lamb;
-And as Tryndamere fights the Kindred, we can notice that the lamb barely fights, as it's duty is for the ones who accept death, rather than fight against it.
I do know that in-game the lamb would just direct the wolf in the last attack, rather than shooting another arrow, but here the circumstances are different, I don't think it takes away from the point, and it probably intentional as well.
the lamb's continued attacks are probably offers to accept it because it's not entirely free will on his resistance
kindred lowered her bow before ashes arrows came in tho
I absolutely ADORE Kindred, they're such unique characters. I was so happy to see them getting the love they deserve.
Kindred is my favourite personification of death along with the Reaper from discworld by Terry Prachett.
7:20 I think this is actually a reference to Morgana's ultimate ability, which would explain why it took such pained concentration from her to cast as it's a kind of channeled ability before it fully triggers it's root/"bind" in game.
100% her ultimate "Soul shackles"
Her binding isn't even shown as chains ingame and referred to only as dark magic
her ult does use chains while her q doesnt so i'd agree with this assessment
Isn't her ability in canon like a soul judgement magic or something? Where her magic makes the affected person feel the pain of their sins which is essentially her "judgement" on people.where if you can withstand your sins then you are free otherwise you died from it. Similar to Ghost rider's Penance Stare except I think she also feels the pain cast on the person. Which is why she looks to be in so much pain when casting it on Aatrox(you can only imagine how many sins he accumulated)
Not to mention she needs to get in close range with Aatrox for it to work
i get triggerd every time someone says it's her Q, like it doesn't make sense at all.
I love how they portray Kindred. It seems like she's not actually there, but when Tryndamere is close to death, she appears as the enemies he's fighting. When Ashe saves him, Kindred lowers her bow because it's not his time to go yet.

Kindred is not a she
@@MrAcedelux Kindred isnt a she, true, they are a team, so its they. However, the lamb is a female spirit, and the wolf is a male spirit.
@@raizo2370 No, he definitely dies, this cinematic is a "potential future", Yasuo's recall animation is the other potential future.
1. The fact he saw the Wolf means his time has come, he chose to peacefully die with Lamb's arrow.

Kindred is such an amazingly created character. A lamb and a wolf representing death. So good!!!
The best part is that at some point in the past, Lamb and Wolf were the same entity who due to the loneliness of being the grim reaper (everyone he met was about to die) he splitted himself into two entities so he would have a friend and not be alone anymore, now becoming the Lamb and the Wolf.
They aren't the only representation of death. There are multiple "grim reapers" in Runeterra.

I absolutely love the scene with Trynd, just battling literal death while tearing through actual enemies and at the end his wife comes in to assist him and calms the rage. The look in his eyes when he sees Ashe is so cute!
Even more so considering that Ashe and Trynd never got married because of love.
The way the red fades into their normal blue when he sees her? Immaculate.
@@GreyGrimi mean, they tried to do that with the marks passive
Based on what we know I believe both of these explanations could be correct, along with many other possibilities, we just don't have a lot of information to narrow it down further.`
For example...
> Lamb thinking is not his time yet coincides with Ashe coming, it's not just becaue Ashe came that's why Lamb stopped.
How do you know what Lamb is thinking?
Lamb = Acceptance of Death
Wolf = Running from Death
(Lamb disappearing is like a metaphor that Trynd doesnt want to accept death anymore and killing all enemies cancels the Wolfs death also if you see your wife as Ashe your rage will go off who wasnt? jk it means he wants to live and doesnt want to accept death cause his waifu arrives...)
Yes exactly what I thought. Ashe's volley killed the warriors behind trynd which saved him from them and kindred's arrow (death).

As a Kindred main, this cinematic made me so happy.Riot just make a League animated series.Besides Arcane. We want more.
But the wolf usually just eats the lamb.
@@theWebWizrd That’s really a nice view of it all!!! :)
as a huge Kindred fan, I'm just so happy they finally get to be in the spotlight for once.
@@byeguyssrybro the wind wall is still on CD 😂😂😂
@byeguyssry9431 sure, but what I said was IF Yauso used the wind wall, he would have to face Wolf instead of Lamb because he would be resisting his fate. If Yasuo wasn't making a choice then why did he get struck by Lamb's arrow and instead of Wolf's jaws? If he could have used the wind wall and survived then why didn't he?
Or maybe it's still there because Yasuo still didn't decide if he gonna die or not, will he let that arrow hit him or not.
I just love how Lamb watches Tryndamere before dissappearing. She's just like "You've proven yourself worthy"
When Lamb does that slight head tilt I got the impression it was her way of saying “fair enough, I’ll be back another time”
I perceived the Trynd and kindred scene differently.
What sells me on this is the mark on Tryndamere's shoulder. No axe or sword is going to cause a mark like that, I am certain Wolf caused it.

Death was following those fatal attacks, and so Trynd did beat death for another day while also killing those around him, and it wasn’t just his imagination
nah those axe guy surely,100% hit trydnamere's shoulder pads multiple times to recreate a claw/bite mark from wolf 😂
@orabijuu8550 Yeah, that call out was a bit sus from necrit. None of them had weapons that would leave marks like that. He was clearly fighting both the warriors and kindred in body and spirit respectively at the same time.
@@ispear6337 thats also what i think, but who cares im not the lore master here 🤐
I like to think that, since it's hinted that this isn't Tryndamere's first encounter with Kindred, Kindred actually sort of "respects" his will to not die across their various encounters, and Lamb mimics the shots of the real people while Wolf teleports around to the positions of the enemy swordsmen, allowing Tryndamere to kill them in the real world while beating back death itself in the death realm, intentionally giving Trynd the opportunity to live.
The amount of love Kindred is getting is making me so happy, one of the best characters ever made and just… Ahhhh! So happy!
Kindred has my favorite Lore in all of LOL and to see it animated like this is like a dream come true
A bit on the lyrics from what I noticed. These are just my thoughts.:
"Got my heel crushing the snake" - A biblical reference to Christ (the heel) crushing the snake (Satan - the Hebrew word for Satan meaning adversary).
Exactly
not only that, i believe that the reality shift is kindred's power - the W skill where Kindred create an arena for the wolf to hunt (which is blueish)
Amazing.
PS: i want a zilean as cool as this yasuo next time.
it really is so cool when they put the abilities in context and make them look badass
Champion abilities look badass when represented like this
It's a lot different from the bird's eye view
I just realized, when Wolf was staring directly at Yasuo, Wolf had yellow eyes instead of the normal blueish purple eyes that he usually sports...
Which actually matches with the eyes of the spirit blossom kindred skin...
One of the things i hadn’t noticed, thats so fucking cool. That could imply that while the cultures may have different interpretations of death, they ultimately share a common (true) ancestor story of kindred.
@@MrWTFgameplay Ye kindred might actually appear in a different form depending on the culture and their beliefs.
@@dariciesglaciem3009 Actually that's true, if you look into their lore kindred is known by many names around different cultures
I also started to think that maybe this is what always happens when Tryndamir’s undying rage goes off, him seeing Kindred again and fighting Lamb and wolf off while his physical body fights on against his enemies.
he's fighting both at once physically and spiritually
1. no weapon shown in the cinematic could produce 4 parallel cuts in one strike like the wolf's claw mark.
2.Tryndamere was reacting to the arrows none of the soldiers have arrows
3. the wolf representing the soldiers he's fighting is false because we can clearly see that when it transitioned back to reality the 2 soldiers that were left were behind Trynd while the wolf was in front of him
Well, old yasuo did die...
Think we'll be waiting until World of Runeterra for an actual champion death.
idk man maybe he uses his last breath ability after he knocks the bandit up with his tornado. We never get the end of that scene@@justsomeguywhoneverdies9210
Doubt they will remove a champion if they die lol otherwise no consequence@@LuisHSK
13:15 "Yasuo is not killing anyone" Yeah just like my soloq games.
Haha true (I am the Yasuo)
Kindred is my favorite character. Her voice over lines are my favorite in the whole game. So happy to see her/them getting more screen time.
I’ve always loved league from the outside perspective and seen so many cinematics not knowing the lore thx for this video
Im just in love with the fact that they brought kindred into this
I've always loved Kindred, seeing them in a cinematic amazing. Though I do find it disappointing that Riot wouldn't commit to Yasou's death, it undercuts the weight of the scene by saying it's "possible" future events.
in the scene with kayle using both sword and releasing her flames she also started to levitate before using them, meanwhile morgana kept staying on the ground while using her own magic
that was a small detail but a really good one considering that morgana when she leaves her role as twin aspect of justice decides to walk on mortal ground while kayle sees herself as above mortals and hence why her levitating
I think it was more of a reference to kayles ultimate :)
this idea that tryndamere and kindred have a mini shadow realm fight everytime he pops ulti is perfect
Which I always found funny because considering that aspect is a trickster to some extent they did it as a "prank".
what better way to prank these haughty demigods than teaching mere mortals how to trap them?
What I love about the Tryn/Kindred scene is the fact that the Kindred each have their designated targets; Lamb shoots those accepting death, Wolf hunts down those who reject it
AND THEN TRYNDAMERE IS SO STUBBORN THAT THEY BOTH HAVE TO TEAM UP TO TAKE HIM DOWN AND NOT EVEN THAT IS ENOUGH
This might sound crazy But I think that although Ash did not see Kindred, she felt her presence. We can see this very well when Ash comes near trynda and looks back curiously as if someone has left her. This is just my opinion. Great breakdown as always 😊❤
thats a cool detail!
Yea, but the only one who can sense the kindred are people who are dying so no
@@alilith3476yeah it was probably more that she sensed that tryn was looking at someone, and turned to see what he was looking at
@@alilith3476 ya ya ash didn't see Kindred.

-
1. Kindred’s quote at the beginning is a nice way to compliment the Music Video & it’s title “Still here”
2. Kayle’s wings seem to growing upwards while Morgana’s wings are growing downwards.
Subtle referencing of how Kayle always feel high & might, looks up to their mother.
While Morgana has the opposite view of what Kayle sees & feels.
Another far-fetch is that referencing how Kayle is never on the ground & always looking down on others,
While Morgana is always on the ground, able to judge everything equally
Morgana choosing & embracing her magic, knowing they will lose that fight if she didn’t do so. And Kayle’s side glanced could also just be Kayle’s condescending attitude
And if he chooses to accept death, it will be fast & swift, but peaceful”
4. Tryn’s on the verge of dying.
I believe Kindred (Lamb & Wolf) did appear, not physically, but more of spiritually.
Kindred only ever appears when a living being is on “Death’s door”, or another way to put it “moments/seconds/minutes before dying” you will see Kindred
If you notice, Lamb barely attacked, and Wolf is the one that’s ferociously attacking Tryn.
Refreshing my feed for this video, for the past day. I love Kindred and I'm so damn glad they did such an amazing job with this video.
A force greater than a thousand dead suns pulled him inside the sword he had carried into battle countless times, and forever bound his immortal essence to it"
He also shapes himself similarly to his original form, and that is why he despises his current bodies.
@@tamas9554 Actually the Golden Queen used Varus' bow to end the war. Then proceeded to bury herself alive with it in the Temple of Pallas, in Ionia.
Not gonna lie, seeing you totally nerding out while reacting to it the first time got me really excited for this breakdown!
I got three points to mention:
1. 7:20 I think that that's actually Morgana's ultimate.
I love that every time Trynd uses his Undying Rage, he is fighting Kindred. Such an amazing touch.
Every scene from this cinematic is worthy of a background image. Absolutely beautiful
Hope this breakdown is a series, there's so much detail in that cinematic.
I cant wait to see the MMO and getting to experience all of this live in a game
Great work @Necrit, i appreciate the fact, that ur videos are easily to understand for a non-native english speaker like me (thats also the reason for my bad english, sorry for that)
It hasn't always been great and there are still some characters with terrible lore, but sometimes they really do nail it.
I love the coloring of Tryndamere's arc:
- in the opening shot, showing him in the real world, it is tinted yellow
- when we get back to him the setting shifts to cold blue and shadows
- finally following Ashes arrows, we see the light return as a wave as we transition back into the real world
Absolutely breathtaking
If that winds up true, that would be such a cool detail of foreshadowing :D
I'll be honest. I expected this video to be longer. like at least double, but possibly up to quintuple. I'm impressed at the restraint Necrit, great video.
There were SO many just beautiful shots in this cinematic. Just gorgeous detail and story telling
