- Got tired oil dripping out of my breathers so I went to a pcv system with a catch can. It also fixed a oil seepage problem I was having with the front main seal. I made sure to use a baffled grommet since the valve covers didn't have a built in baffle.
Order the catch can on Amazon with this link amzn.to/45KfhuM
Coolant isn’t just coolant. It also raises the boiling point of water and protects internals from being damaged by water, even if distilled.
That seems like a lot for the little driving you did. I think you’re right about the blow by
I have a breather less catch can on my car. Had a filter and cap. Seems better.
Thanks for this. So the pressure exits the valve cover and goes to the catch can. Is the pressure then returned to the carb/engine intake side in the form of vacuum? And yikes, please watch out for that fan!
Yes the vacuum pulls the crankcase pressure but leaves any oil or condensation in the catch can before it recirculates back to the engine. I ditched the clutch fan and installed the SVE dual electric fan setup as well.
@@natet1227 Thanks for the reply!
Hows this system 9 months later? And oil leaking from pcv onto header?
Working great! I empty the catch can when I change the oil every 3 months. It is usually about 1/2 full
You still running a reverse flow waterpump?
Yes stock serpentine style water pump. I might change to a standard rotation down the road to get a little more wrap on the pulley but it’s working good so far.
What's the parts number on everything?
Catch can PN is MG-OCC009-Black-New
Baffled PCV grommet is Gasket PN 5425
@natet1227 what's that 90° sitting in that baffle
