I am in the opposite glue recovery group, across the hall from yours. I don't use enough glue because I am obsessed with "not wasting stuff. " IT'S NOT WASTING IF YOU NEED IT! That is the motto of our group. Lovely bed and just the right amount of glue.
LOLOLOLOLOL!!! THIS IS SO HILARIOUS! Isn't it something we all have our struggles! I appreciate your compliment about just the right amount of glue. I'm truly practicing.....LESS GLUE... LESS GLUE.... LESS GLUE!!! LOLOLOLOL
I'm glad your glue counseling is going so well! You are obviously putting in the hard work necessary for therapy to be successful. 🤗 The bed looks very fancy and any doll should be thrilled to get it, especially with its brand-new, comfy mattress. 😊 I never met your Daddy, but I'm sure that he would be proud of you for continuing to learn and grow, and encouraging others to do the same.
Yes the therapy is going well! i am grateful to see progress and to hear that my Dolls and see it as well. Yes Daddy would be proud because he was always urging me to slow down, stop rushing and to take my time. I hope you Dolls can learn these lessons early so you can enjoy years of savoring the process.
It's so fun watching you create, bc it's very similar to what I do. Sometimes I'm like, Oh gosh, yup looks familiar. It doesn't matter how much we create or how long we have been. We get into doing things our own way, and sometimes it's not always the best practice, but it's what gets the job done. And I say any way you get there, just get there! 😆 You did lovely as usual, my friend! 🥰❤️
I KNOW RIGHT! SO MUCH OF WHAT DO IS ATTACHED TO MY CHILDHOOD! I feel like I'm constantly rebelling against the " you can't do that" voice🤭☺️! By any means necessary 😂💖! Thank You for watching!
Beautiful! I am always so happy to watch your videos. They always leave me in a good mood. I have taken so many risks and tried so many things to make my doll house mine. It’s all because of your wonderful words of encouragement!
THANK YOU CHRISTIE That is truly a compliment! I appreciate you sharing that! It's encouraging! II need to start announcing this again that always post on Mondays and Wednesdays 7:30pm eastern time! Thank you again for being here!!!
Thank you Claire! Weren't they just perfect?! I think it really helped the bed alot! I've got to find out where to buy them, I need to keep them on tap! Loloolool!! Thank you letting me share!!!
WOW I absolutely love your remake of that bed! The addition of the lacey pieces was a great idea! Can't wait to see how you work around the painting issue 😁
Proud of your glue and measuring recovery, theres a lot of us in the miniature community (The algorithm wouldn't let me add this to my original comment 😂 I don't know what it thinks we are all talking about lol!)
I KNOW RIGHT! I guess too much talk of recovery and therapy! That's the problem it doesn't think! I can't think! I it can't tell whether we are being comical or sarcastic or satirical... well that's artificial intel for you! LOLOLOOLOL!
Thank you Irene! I really like it alot better! it was so plain. I have a tendency to like things to look fancy even if they are old, distressed and vintage.
You are welcome. Back then they did have the tendency to make functional things have intricate details. Even if it was a plan shakers bed they added something special to it.🥰
I absolutely love that bed, it reminds me of my grandmother's furniture that was probably from the 1930s. I think it's beautiful with the natural color of the applique's, but if you do eventually stain it, that will look great too, I'm sure!
LOLOL! It is so Crazy! When I'm working it seems so civilized and natural, then when I see myself on camera , it's like OH MY GOODNESS! That doesn't look orderly at ALL!!! Adult Gretchen and Little Gretchen struggle for power! I guess little Gretchen WON in this video! Lolololol! Thank you for watching Patricia!
I am so thrilled you are doing so well in therapy. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 there is no shame in getting help when you need it. I have trouble throwing out little pieces of wood no matter how tiny they are.
Yes i have so many bags of wood scraps!!! i need to sort through them to keep only the best ones. EDIT and PURGE!! LOLOLOLOL!! Yes, I do feel as though the therapy is going well! Thank you for noticing!
YES just GO FOR IT! what's the worst thing that could happen?? You'll have to re-paint it, or re-glue it or re- cover the mattress... either way no harm, no real loss, only casualty is a little paint or glue? Net loss $1.75 or less, I using SCRAPS!!!!
You are always so good at adding tiny details that make a huge difference! And I love that you used a man’s shirt to make the mattress cover! It’s perfect! And congratulations on learning to restrain yourself when gluing😂 also learning how to measure. Maybe someday I will learn those things 🤣
Thank you! This was So much Fun! I had been waiting to do this since i got that box of broken furniture! I love salvaging things that appear worthless! practicing restraint is rough bit I'm getting better every day.
It was a little bit of a struggle to see the beautiful bed before you made it begin to shine. I’m so proud of your progress with measuring and glue control!! 😂 I saw happy hands several times. You just too darn cute my friend. xx
I was clipping the round ends of coffee stirrers when I checked for a new video. lol! I’m so inspired to redo all my bedding every time I see your bed videos because I know I can do better because you’re a good teacher ❤
I also have had a glue problem. About a year ago I had an entire 4 poster bed fall to pieces TWICE because I did not wait for the glue to dry before adding on other pieces. I have glued things to my fingers, clothing and the kitchen table. Lol. I finally learned after years of some frustrations to always have several different projects going at the same time. Instead of being laser focused on getting one completed project, to the exclusion of dinner, bedtime or my house being on fire. It took a while to train myself to do this but it has been worth it. It is so much easier to leave something alone to dry properly if you have something else to work on. To my delight I noticed this also works for trying to watch paint dry.
Such a pretty bed!! The little center medallion is just perfect!! I can hardly wait to see it all finished!! (Congratulations on your newfound control of glue use, and also measuring!!)❤️
Thank you for watching Nancy! I am sincerely trying! It is truly a uphill journey!!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!! Fighting my factory default setting!..... " To Do what i want"!
I still have issues waiting for glue to dry as well. I always think. I'll just be careful with it, and usually manage to mess it up somehow, only because I didn't want to wait just a little bit longer.. 😂 Your bed is beautiful. I know your daddy is proud. If you don't mind the other frame being a little broken and repaired, you can still use it as a bed frame. Just flip it over and remove the center boards, then set the mattress down into it, so it will be lower. Although, I think it will make a beautiful book shelf. It has possibilities, that's for sure.
LOLOLOLOL!! I feel like you just described me! LOLOLOL!! I can hear Daddy now saying" Slow down", "what's the rush", "take your time"! I definitely have several options i am considering for that leftover frame. But I need to get these two beds together before someone else decides to get married!! LOLOLOL!!
Oh, I love the new bed! I’m looking for those little pieces of art to add to my own creations and makeovers. This is one of my favorite pieces you’ve made(not counting the folks). I’ve been thinking for a long time how I want my bed to look and I may want some of those decorations. Stay warm Gretchen!
I just found your channel and after scrolling through your videos I just had to subscribe, I love miniatures and your channel can help me get better at creating random little things, You are so creative, thank you for sharing . 😘
Thank you Sandra ☺️ Welcome to Little Gretchen's Workshop! I'm so glad you have chosen to be one of my Precious DOLLS!!! Thank you for allowing me to share! ENJOY😊💖!

Ooh that’s a beautiful bed Gretchen, love the wood appliqués, when you were taking the bed apart I thought “wow they used really good glue” lol, I treated myself to one of those rulers haven’t used it yet, can’t wait to see what bedding you’re going to make for this bed, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Love your new bed little Gretchen and love those little wooden medallions. Wherever did you get them? 😂 could you also give the name of the excess glue recovery group that you went to? lol. LOVE your videos!
THANK YOU BECKY!!! I Love the medallions too!! Well, Actually, this Lovely Lady That I met through my Facebook Fan page, sent them to me!!! LOLOLOOLOLL!!
Heck yeah girl! You tear that bed up! lol. Awesome job revitalizing and rejuvenating the bed, lucky dolls getting all the great new furniture for their rooms. I'm guessing you have future ideas for re-using the bed base, I would totally add more shelves and use it as a book case or even make glass doors with a pretty metal latch or knobs for the front of it too. But knowing you my friend, you will take whatever you do with it far beyond what Ive imagined. Now there is one thing I wanted to ask....the old mens shirt you used for the mattress....did you have to mug the old men for their shirts or did they give them up willingly? LOL Jokes! Sorry I couldn't resist
You Are Hilarious! Lololol! THE surrendered ONLY the sleeves WILLINGLY 🤭☺️🤣Thanks so much!! THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! AFTER THE FIGHT WITH THE BED I WANTED RO THROW IT AWAY! BUT after the resentment of the battle passes I'll look at it with fresh eyes.☺️❤️💖❤️💖❤️❤️
I just can’t make myself use gloves! I hate them i can’t feel what I’m doing. It’s negative degrees here today and I still can’t make myself wear them lol Also congrats on your journey of recovery 👍 😅
LOLOLOLOL!! i justify my bad behavior because i wore acrylic nails for years. And woul d soak in acetone to remove them for a fresh set. Still doesn't make it right! Old habits die hard! Loloolol! thank you for being here to witness my recovery process!!!
I thought you'd have the ruler listed, but I don't see it. 😢 I was excited because I saw another Miniaturist use it and tried to look it up. I couldn't find. PLEASE, where did you get it..😊
Yes Kelley, I truly need to use my gloves! I have 2 packages of nitrile gloves sitting right there! I think i justify behavior because at the nail salon they soak your nails in acetone to remove acrylic nails. LOLOLOLOL!!! Still not a good practice!!! Thank you for watching!!
