Hmmm..... If you asked me to pick my favorite thing about this system. I would have to say, No can do. This feature has just too many good things about it to pick just one. Find my car is super cool. Shopping with friends at the Shipshewana Flea Market and someone wants to put a big purchase in the car? You can unlock it for them remotely. You can even check to see if they relocked it. Now checking on other users of your car! Invaluable! Wonder if my children would have appreciated this feature ever so many years ago........especially that youngest child that liked to test her boundaries.... Great video Toyota Jeff. You sure know your stuff.
Thanks for the huge compliments to me and to the Remote Connect system...I use the Engine Start feature all the time so I can start it from my work and it's cool inside by the time I get to my car :)
So in order for this to work, you need the device with the app to have access to internet. Does the car have to have any built in internet to work/ connect?
Thanks for your question. I don't see the need to get remote engine start if you already have remote connect. They do basically the same thing. The main difference is that remote start is controlled by your keyless entry key, where remote connect starts and stops the engine from your phone. The other difference is the remote connect is not limited by distance....you can technically start your engine from virtually anywhere (not sure why you'd want to do that though, but you can).
@@Toyotajeff and the other difference is remote connect is only free for 6 months. After that there is a monthly fee, if it's not paid it will no longer work.
Is there a solution around my engine shutting off right after I open the door with the engine start? I saw a comment below with the same problem. Do I have to unlock it with the phone as well so the engine can keep running when I open the door?
No, it's a safety feature so that nobody can break in and steal your car because it will take off without the key fob if it's running. I thought that was annoying too until read about why.
How about the newer version the incorporates the Entune features supposedly. I haven't the slightest clue on how to get any of the apps to show on my system and the dealer was no help.
MY Rav4 2020 xle canot activate the remot connect services ..unable to enter the 6 digite code ..network connection is not availble !!!..How to resolve please.🙏
Thanks Christopher. I appreciate the compliment! Thanks for watching and have a great rest of your week! By the way, I see you're a filmmaker, so your kind words mean a lot! Jeff
I cant find the app to download. All i see is a red app that says toyota, a black app that says toyota connect and toyota entune but not 3.0. None of these apps show me any of the remote connect options.
Why doesn’t the tire pressure appear on the dash? It shows up in the app under my garage. I want that information while I’m driving, not when I’m at home looking at the app. My 2016 Chrysler 200s had more information available on the dash than the 2021 RAV4.
Hi Marlon and thanks for the question. Yes it's a paid service. You get a free 6-month trial, and then after that Toyota will charge you $8 per month or $80 per year. I almost wonder if eventually it will become a free service, but not anytime soon. Thanks and have a great weekend...Jeff
Hiya du! We can always hope. Info on the 19 RAV4 is trickling out at a very slow pace. I expect we will know quite a bit more at the end of March into mid-April on new surprises for the 19 RAV4.
Thanks for commenting. What Toyota do you own? I want to make sure you have Entune Audio Plus and Remote Connect is available on your car first. If available, you go to your phone's app store and type in "Toyota Remote Connect"....thanks for watching! Jeff
How do you open the driver’s door after turning on the engine by using the Romote Connect app from your phone? I touch the door after using the app to turn on the engine AND the car’s engine “shutdown” immediately 🤔
oscarcastillo1 I talked to Toyota dealer where in bought my car. The agent told me that was the safety feature and still did not know how to sold it as well. He recommended me call the Toyota technician support to have the solution.
Yes it does. It will blow the air or heat at whatever you had it set at when you turned it off. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel...Jeff
I just bought a camry xse last Tuesday and it won’t let me use this feature my dealer said it had it but when I put in my vin it says error vin was not found please try again later I need help how to do this it seems my dealer don’t know.
Did you ever get this resolved? When I try to register my vin it is saying the same thing. It says vin error and vin not found. Please help if you were able to resolve this.
Can anyone tell me if this is available on the 2018 Highlander SE? When I get on the remote connect it just says this vehicle does not support it. You would think it would for the price you pay for them.
PLEASE HELP...we are about to be taken advantaged Of (we think) by a dealer. They say the remote connect app can only be used by 1 smartphone...either mine or my wife’s. Which would mean only one of us would have the remote connect capability. And if I was to use the car, or our daughter, that person would have to take wife’s phone with them. We think that any phone can download the remote connect app and as long as all the security login credentials match, any phone we have can connect to car. Please help...THANK YOU in advance.
Hiya Jimmy Neurton (Neutron!).....thanks for your question. I'm not sure you're about to be taken advantage of by any dealer for that question -- I would guess they just don't know the correct answer like I do haha.....Here is the answer: Everyone in the family can download and use the remote connect app with their individual phones. You will not have to carry your wife's phone with you each time you want to use remote connect. HOWEVER....only 1 person in the family can be signed in to remote connect at one time. SO....if your wife is logged in on her remote connect app, and you want to use remote connect because you have the car, you have to make sure she is first logged out of remote connect before it will let you use it. I hope this helps! If my answer is helpful to you, please watch an ad or two that play before my videos....that would be very kind of you. Have a great weekend! Jeff
Thank you so much for your answer. We are looking at the XSE 4cyl w Entune 3.0 audio plus and DA package (all the options basically), some sources are saying that the keyfob is able to remote start the vehicle by 2 click lock and third click hold down lock (similar to Lexus key fob remote start) like in this video th-cam.com/video/oUNawhZqjuc/w-d-xo.html ...my question is this feature included with the model we are looking at... i ave asked the dealer and they dont know. I am going to go back and physically try it. They have said that there is no technology avail to make this happen. Obviously there is as seen in this video. Thank you again in advance.
great question. I haven't heard of this feature. My impression was you needed to specifically get Remote Engine Start as an option from the factory to do that from the smart key. Maybe I'll learn more about this.....
I just got my hatchback se and sad to find that it doesn’t have any remote start... like word. Wtf. This should be like standard feature on today’s cars. Even my 2012 Passat has it...
NanoReeferKeeper bro but if you check it says something about having a smart watch that can tell the car what to do not sure exactly what it was but when I bought my hatchback the salesman told me if I had a smart watch on me but I didn’t have it on me so he couldn’t tell me what it can do am looking for videos to see was up with it can’t find anything
92hotcheeto yes is has this feature where you can remote start it with your Apple Watch but only for the xse and not the se, the xse has the remote start. It’s cool tho. Wish mine had it
NanoReeferKeeper oh okay I see bro is just the xse. Well yeah it’s looks nice but from what I read is that it’s really not useful cause you need to have really good signal and other stuff my Gf car has it and she struggle to make it work but I would like it so when I go to work my car can be warmed up would give me a good amount of time to do some little extra things like make a quick breakfast

I was putting off downloading this app but you have convinced me, had no idea there was other features, thanks!
This is awesome and as tech is getting cheaper this will definitely be a standard for all cars
Is there a regular good ole fashion remotet start that is OEM that can be installed? And without the smart key feature?
See my video used code alarm remote start 2500 ft range my 2020 Tacoma has the key style remote also.
th-cam.com/video/jlHHGVFN9sc/w-d-xo.html
So in order for this to work, you need the device with the app to have access to internet.
Does the car have to have any built in internet to work/ connect?
You should do a video on comfort plus complete accessory. Pros and cons and if it worth adding on.
Hi Jeff! Thanks for all the tips regarding Toyota.
Could you please be so kind to tell me if this app is still available? Thank you
Yes, the app is still available.
Will this work on Toyota RAV4 2024 Le ? It's not a push button start
Is there anyway to keep the motor running once you go out to get into the car? I’m so glad for all your videos you give the best information ever.
You can keep the motor/engine running for 8 to 10 minutes and open any door to stop the engine but cannot go over 10 minutes
Hey Jeff!
Can can this be used on ANY toyota? I have a 2022 Rav4 XLE Premium on its way. I do not have the Audio Plus package.
Why does my alarm go off when I physically open door after unlocking car from app? Is there a way to deactivate alarm from app without key fob nearby?
Is this feature available in every new Toyota vehicle. I have a 2020 Camry SE without the push start option. Will it work with my car?
Great video.. Can i get this on my 2018 Toyota Camry SE? Thanks
Hi
Is there any way to install or activate the remote connect on 2015 toyota highlander xle,
because, this model doesn't has this option
Thanks for the video. Do we really need a Remote Engine Starter if we have Remote Connect feature and How it differs, please

how do we know if we have entune 3.0?
Good Video. I have a question. When you start up the card with the app the ACC or Heater if I leave off is going to turn on automatically?
No
Such a shame Toyota didn’t make this useful enough to actually close your windows if requested.
Do you have to pay for this?
Hi. Does it only work with apple iPhone or Android phones as well?
Does it let you when its time to be serviced
Great videos!
MY Rav4 2020 xle canot activate the remot connect services ..unable to enter the 6 digite code ..network connection is not availble !!!..How to resolve please.🙏
can u drive-off the car with just the app in the phone or do you still need the key fob?
You still need the key because if you turn on your car remote and open the door engine cuts off, try it.
Is there any way that the car can keep running once you go out to get into it
Does this remote status function display tire pressure?
You did not show us remote climate control. The Hyundai Sonata, you can set the climate/temperature to whatever you want. Can the Camry do that?
Great video. Very informative.
Thanks Christopher. I appreciate the compliment! Thanks for watching and have a great rest of your week! By the way, I see you're a filmmaker, so your kind words mean a lot! Jeff
Hi, is this available on the standard 2018 Camry SE?
Did you ever find out??
Eli Potts Yes. It is not standard, I bought the 2020 SE instead😀

Don’t you need service connect? Which also you need to pay
This guy is the best thank you great:)
Can you control your temps from the App
Is that a payed feature. I have enture 3.0 but not sure it u have to pay to use this feature

would that be available to 19 rav? tnx

When you start the car with the remote it turns off when you open the doors manually. Is there a way to hop in and leave the car running?
No it is a safety feature
How do you open the driver’s door after turning on the engine by using the Romote Connect app from your phone?
I touch the door after using the app to turn on the engine AND the car’s engine “shutdown” immediately 🤔
I have that same problem, I just noticed that as well. As soon as I open the door it shuts down. Is there a solution to this yet?
oscarcastillo1 I talked to Toyota dealer where in bought my car. The agent told me that was the safety feature and still did not know how to sold it as well. He recommended me call the Toyota technician support to have the solution.
