Exit the app. Press and hold the app icon on your phone screen, like you would if you were removing the app. The remote start and door locks will be included with the app options to uninstall and remove. I found it by accident when the app notification annoyed me to the point of wanting to get rid of it.
I see start, lock and unlock options when I hold down the app icon but they do not populate on the app after I select any of them and pressing them does not seem to start, lock or unlock our 4Runner. The mystery continues. I thought I had a breakthrough!
Would be nice if Toyota could put out a concise list of which vehicles the app works with. For instance can you use these features (with a paid or trial account) with a 2023 Corolla LE , or is it for use with only more expensive trims and models. I have seen so many asterisks and footnotes I am not sure what is what.
I have a 2022 Rav4 Hybrid SE. There is no remote start/lock option for the vehicle in the app. I don’t understand why a brand new hybrid with non-basic trim level doesn’t have this capability?

I just bought the XSE Prime with a premium package. In the app (iPhone) there IS NOT the Lock and Unlock feature. If you want it, you have to hold down the TOYOTA app icon like you are going to move it around on the screen. Inside there you will see LOCK and UNLOCK. Why it isn't in the app I don't know.
For the price Toyota should add more functionality such being able to operate your windows remotely and schedule service with your Toyota Dealer of choice.
My question is when the car uses auto start and is currently running, is the car technically locked or unlocked during this time? I never know whether I need to press to unlock the car before opening it, I don't want to set off the alarm but also my car then shuts off when I open the door to get in even though it was already running. Then I have to start it again. But maybe if I try just opening it then it will continue to run. Or does opening the door either way shut the car off?
I have a 2019 4Runner sr5 premium mine does not have these capabilities and it has the option to lock/unlock on the app but says it isn’t compatible either with my car. Idk. I want to try to see if it can be upgraded🤷🏽♀️

My "opinion" is the key fob will still work because it uses a radio signal from the fob but the app on your phone wont work after the trial/free period because they wont relay the commands to the trunk for you any longer.
This works, but it will cost you (it did for my 2020 4-Runner Nightshade anyway) $9.99 a month or $80.00 annually for Remote Connect: Control your vehicle from almost anywhere. Does this app work with a vehicle that has an after market starter? I have only gotten this app to work once on my 2020 RAV4 TRD. So annoying to have a feature we cannot use with any consistency.

can you imagine - the owner sets a MILE LIMIT on you (25 miles 4 instance) and you hit a brick wall, or is it an ejector-seat action, or does the lady's voice come on and yell at you progressively louder "Stop driving the car, you've reached your 25 mile limit, STOP DRIVING THE CAR. Automatic engine shutdown occurs after 10 minutes, but the vehicle may be remotely started as many times as you wish for an additional 10 minutes. I have a 2021 Highlander with the remote start feature. However, whenever I use it, it gives me an error notification (Remote command failed. Please ensure the vehicle is not in use...). However, it does successfully lock and unlock the doors via my iPhone app. Anyone know what the issue might be?

You can't, at least in the 2023 Corolla when you are going to change the speed on the lever of the box, the car goes off if you don't have the key. Tap press the brake and then hit the power button
My wife has a aftermarket vehicle starter that does a million things more than this app. I have it and it does nothing extraordinary. I would have thought that Toyota would have spent more time with better features. Open and shut windows, access vehicle w/o car shutting off ( I have the FOB on me).
I bought 2022 Toyota Corolla cross Xle. And I paid aftermarket is for special service vehicles. Some dealers make it mandatory, where I got my car does it . But it’s just for take your money.
Its funny how not all dealerships know your car has remote start with the app. But when they install a remote start. The app does not work. Trust me. We find out the hard way.

My Toyota Remote Connect for my 2022 sienna is expiring and I'm renewing for a year today. This function is very good. When I go to the mall, the app will remind me that the car is not locked. I can remotely lock the car in the mall.

Maybe this is a dumb question but when I press start the vehicle turns on normally but when I open the door the engine turns off so I have to turn it on as usually do pressing the ignition button. Is that normal or can somebody explain me how that works?

I have a 2021 Mirai XLE and this is supposed to be a standard feature yet my app doesn't have the option to start the vehicle, there are no lock/unlock buttons. The only option is the temperature and that doesn't work either.

I agree especially since they push and force the consumer into buying their “package” deals. Which is crazy if not all features work for your vehicle.

I have a 2021 Highlander with the remote start feature. However, whenever I use it, it gives me an error notification (Remote command failed. Please ensure the vehicle is not in use...). However, it does successfully lock and unlock the doors via my iPhone app. Anyone know what the issue might be?

Can you drive with remote connect while not having key fob with you?
You can't, at least in the 2023 Corolla when you are going to change the speed on the lever of the box, the car goes off if you don't have the key. Tap press the brake and then hit the power button

My wife has a aftermarket vehicle starter that does a million things more than this app. I have it and it does nothing extraordinary. I would have thought that Toyota would have spent more time with better features. Open and shut windows, access vehicle w/o car shutting off ( I have the FOB on me).
What is the after market starter ??

I bought 2022 Toyota Corolla cross Xle. And I paid aftermarket is for special service vehicles. Some dealers make it mandatory, where I got my car does it . But it’s just for take your money.

Its funny how not all dealerships know your car has remote start with the app. But when they install a remote start. The app does not work. Trust me. We find out the hard way.
WOW! Thank you so much for sharing this. Just purchased a 2022 4Runner TRD Off Road and I thought it came with it. The dealership even told me it did. Needless to say, after speaking to 3 different people, it doesn't. I was going to have the remote start installed. So grateful I didn't.

Press and hold the app icon on your phone screen. Like you would if you were hoping to remove it uninstall the app. It's in there

Hi, there! We appreciate your inquiry. The Remote Connect engine starter can be effectively operated up to 80 feet in an open space. Keep in mind that the physical makeup of the surrounding environment (hills, trees, buildings, etc.) may affect the remote engine starter's maximum range. 😀 👍
My Toyota Remote Connect for my 2022 sienna is expiring and I'm renewing for a year today. This function is very good. When I go to the mall, the app will remind me that the car is not locked. I can remotely lock the car in the mall.

I was unable to add a vehicle. It won’t accept the VIN. Car is a Toyota Corolla Hybrid with LTA. Advanced enough to support SCOUTS gps app. Very frustrating that something this simple can’t work.

Im so confuse i have a 2020 camry se i did all that on the app i do not see the start engine button, i do have a fob that start the engine that they gave me but i dont know if this was add by other company or what soo confused. I dont even know how to use this fob because the alrm goes off too and i dont want to wake up the neighbors at 4am in the morning to go to work. Helppp!!

Maybe this is a dumb question but when I press start the vehicle turns on normally but when I open the door the engine turns off so I have to turn it on as usually do pressing the ignition button. Is that normal or can somebody explain me how that works?
Yes it's completely normal. So many people hate that it does that

I have a 2021 Mirai XLE and this is supposed to be a standard feature yet my app doesn't have the option to start the vehicle, there are no lock/unlock buttons. The only option is the temperature and that doesn't work either.

Hi there! The engine will shut off after 10 minutes after remote starting for safety purposes. This is not a function that cannot be adjusted.
@@toyotausa no other maker on the market has such a useless "saftey" feature! Give the option to remove the 10 Mins auto shutoff. Icing on the cake is having to pay$8 a month for such silly feature which should be free! Love toytas but your remote start system shutting off at 10 mintuess is ridiculous
