Nissan models the newer 2019 Rogues & Altima already comes with remote start on the top trims, no add on needed. I agree! It should already come w/ top trims.
So I thought the same but there is a reason. So with Lexus and Toyota, when you remote start..it actually fully starts the vehicle. An what happens with out remote start system is that sometimes people will remote start the car inside....forget to grab the keys and get maybe a block or two up the road and get the reminder no, "no key fob detected" an would have to drive back to grab it. So it cuts off so you have to make sure you have the key on you. I know it's still kinda sucky since other car makers have the take over feature, but that's why it cuts out. Hopefully I sorta made some sense

Curious about range; such as working the 15th office floor and it takes you over 10 minutes just to get to your car, great feature for the young adults in my the house.
I know you can use it from anywhere in the country. I’m not sure if you can use it from Canada as well but there is a chance. I will have to research that. For example I could’ve started my engine or unlocked my car when I was in Las Vegas and my car was in North Carolina successfully.
The other safety feature is that it will start your engine but if you open up the door to get into your car it will stop the engine until you restart it. The safety benefit there is imagine you have remotely started your engine and somebody wants to steal it. They cannot do that unless they have the key.
getting a RAV4 Hybrid starting sometime next year and it’s nice to see these things are included in the first year. i’d definitely pay that almost $100 a year for the remote start feature alone given where i live.
No, I discovered that it's another layer of security for your vehicle. Toyota has designed the engine to shut off when the door to your vehicle is open, so no one can just hop in your vehicle and take off.
@@iTsJuniorV Yes, that is correct. Once you unlock the doors, the engine immediately shuts off. Once your in the car, you would just have to press the brake and push the start engine button.

Unfortunately, after the remote starting of your car when you press the stop pedal or open a door the engine stops immediately. Since in the US owners get only one key-fob plus the second manual key w/o fob is it impossible to start and drive just with the manual key. Could you clarify?

I know why this happens, but I'm not sure you'll like the answer haha.....it's a security issue designed to prevent someone from stealing a running car before you get a chance to get to your car. Imagine a bad person who couldn't resist walking by a running car with nobody around, and they took it....that's why. Not sure how to turn that function off but I'll ask. Jeff

My Camry is a 2021 hybrid Le, and it does not offer me a phone remote start, only a fob remote start came with the car. I confirmed with Toyota and they told me not all models are included in this feature.
You have to unlock the door before you open the door with the fob and it won't turn off. I read a similar comment on another video and that's what they said.
Ford offers this free in all of their vehicles. Insane they charge for this... Also not offering android auto but offering apple carplay? I have 2 tacomas. A 2016 and a 2019. This app won't recognize the 2019 tacoma. Why? Also on my 2016 it says I need to confirm I'm the owner but how do I do that? My dealer here on maui is complete garbage so I wanna avoid taking it there, they are the worst dealer I have ever experienced.

Its really silly to have a subscription for features on new car. Remote start is old technology and should come with the purchase of the car. So disappointing. All the other features like unlocking the car remotely is okay to have a subscription for but remote start? Give me a break.
This is a great feature . It should be included with the purchase of a Toyota. This is not a feature worth paying for monthly .

if you buy a Toyota don't get a Hybrid unless you live somewhere where the gas prices are high, cause if gas cost $3 or under is not worth it.

Ford offers this feature for free. This is not a paid service with ford. The only thing the Ford app won't do is allow you to set speed limit.

Peter Castiglione it’s integrated into the FOB press the lock button three times and on the third push and hold and it will start the car.
With the app you can start it from anywhere. It uses a data connection. With the fob you have to be close

Its really silly to have a subscription for features on new car. Remote start is old technology and should come with the purchase of the car. So disappointing. All the other features like unlocking the car remotely is okay to have a subscription for but remote start? Give me a break.
