    Thanks for the video. I love it the short version step-by-step. Thanks for not downloading any drama of stories and how you come to be there and how the dog you lost your dog and everything else.

    I just did one. I drilled 3/4 holes above where the actuator bolts are and used a long extension to loosen the bolts. Then duct tape the holes up real easy. Remove the airbag helps.

      This is the solution- I drilled 1/2 inch holes aligned with the actuator- worked like a charm-I was able to take the 2 screws out with a socket wrench and replaced the actuator-filled the holes with duct tape and glue gun

    I always seem to do things the hardest way, but holy man you got me beat. Was rather humorous. Go from bottom on passenger side. Although you can't use duct tape. Well I guess you could, but no cutting and 30 min. If you go slow.

    I pulled both brackets and all duct hold downs and was able to tip the duct up out of the way enough to get at the bolts with no cutting. There are 4 total actuators under the dash in my Tahoe, I think the avalanche would be the same.

    Solid video! Question: when installing new one, you lined up spindle position to match old unit, is that done from outside of new unit, or does it need to be opened to adjust so won't damage new unit?? Thanks!

    Or you could remove about 3 screws on the lower housing, and the two screws on the actuator, unplug it and reverse the process with your new actuator in about 15-20 minutes. But I always wondered what it looked like from the top down. You might need to reset it by removing battery terminals...can't recall which one if it doesn't work. Seriously, much simpler.

      James Elmore I would to see a video on your way, this seems like a F up way to get to the actuator lol. Why are people saying there's one under the passenger side and one on the driver? Is there 3 actuator?

    • @shuriKen469
      @shuriKen469 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      luckily i haven't had an actuator issue arise yet but from what i've seen on youtube there are multiple actuators controlling air flow every which way. i do wonder how he unscrewed this particular actuator from the top if it's accessible from underneath? seems like it worked out though so thanks for the upload nonetheless.

    That was way too much work. Al I did was remove the glovebox, airbag, and the vent. I was able to slip a socket (welded to a piece of flat stock) in there to remove the bolts. It was A LOT of turning, but I was able to replace it without removing all that.

    Are there two different blend door actuators? One for driver's side and one for passenger side? (Dual temp control - 2005 Chevy Avalanche) And if so--- Where is the blend door actuator located for the driver's side? Can anyone help a gal out?

    • @jeremydoss2773

    Yea sooooo easy ,but only when you have an easy button. If your hunting that fucker down there's nothing easy about it. Taking the dash apart isn't hard just a lot of steps. I was doing it without TH-cam at first. This is the only video I found where I can actually see the door

    I did everything you did , and the new one on top like in your video was a waste of time, the new one did exactly the same thing the old one did, so now I’m assuming it is the drivers side part not the top

      For a 2002 Avalanche the Main mode which I believe is the top that controls where the air comes from, i.e. vents or defrost is 52473356.

    Wow, talk about OVERKILL!... why in God's name would you do all that just to take out an actuator hack your ductwork???... so easier to take these off by what somebody else suggested three screws on the cover on the bottom on the passenger side and then take screws out of actuator on bottom what you did to get to your actuator is exactly what you should not have to go through!

    • @killanige
      @killanige 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not that easy. Trust me you have to take out the airbag to get to the passenger actuator. And it's a major pain the ass. Sure you don't cut your duct work but you sure as hell better have a low profile socket and a lot of patience.
