The whole point is to be able to purchase OEM STI parts for any VB chassis. I have personally owned multiple STIs and I applaud anyone who chooses to use genuine OEM STI parts on any Subaru vehicle.
@carswithsepp yeah I had to look around at several sites to find it some sites were asking over 400 for it I got mine from rally sport direct not sure if there still the same price there
The sti is a wrx with a badge. All the old sti's have the same motor so it doesn't matter what year they use. Sti is basically subaru aftermarket parts, they sell tons of sti branded parts for the vb so it actually all makes perfect sense. Only difference is that they didn't package it together themselves as an "sti" . In the end, what's fun about buying a ready made "sti"? The aftermarket for the vb got huge really fast. Real subie guys want to build the car themselves and not just buy a sti and call it a day. Ever noticed how sti guys leave their cars stock. Subaru definitely made the right move here by letting the aftermarket handle everything
@zombielivesmatter7294 uhhhh, ya, forgot to mention the tranny. I'm sure anyone with half a brain could understand that. Of course, typical sti fanboy trying to grasp any opportunity to be right. It may have a better tranny still but what's worse. Blowing a motor or a tranny that can be replaced much easier. To be fair though, I did mention the ej25 and obviously the tranny is paired with that. Try again buddy, gr corolla is a overpriced maxed out motor that has plenty of issues of its own. But of course you'll think it's something amazing until it gets smoked by a tuned vb. We're not talking stock for stock. Tuning potential of the vb makes the corolla look like a, guess what, a corolla.
STI and WRX were completely different down to the body until the VA. Wheels weren’t even interchangeable. Up until the end of the VA life cycle the suspension systems and entire powetrain was different.
@@eatingricetwice2414 you sound like a broke joke, wrx/sti are garbage throw away commuter cars. I bought mine cash to get to the train. We are not on the same income bracket child.
I would rather buy the WRX wagon in 6 speed manual 271hp (currently offered in Mexico) than the Toyota Corolla GR but .....they need to hurry, my patience is wearing thin......😤👍
That's an S4 I believe, 295/295 CVT with STI components. Released only in Japan, people would lose their minds in the US if the VB STI showed up with a CVT lol
I know is marketing to get people to buy a vb but I don’t think a cvt vb would beat a manual STI and if you tune the it can take it now the vb cvt…. It would destroy that transmission now a manual STI vb with all the STI parts including suspension and lsd and mor power yeah maybe
I dont think the badging issue is a big deal with the VB.. Since we didnt get one, its not like you are faking an STI, and i think that was the old argument.. it was like civic's running around with Type R badges when they were a CX..
I noticed the VB and VA have a rear windshield wiper, bizzare that the north america market version doesn't have any at all. I wonder if it could be installed.
Some of the best automotive commentary I’ve ever heard. Let’s all beat ourselves … with STI parts haha
Subaru should hire me as a spokesperson at this point 😂😂
Sounds painful, no Alcantara 😂
“BEAT YOURSLEF OFF W-“
That one shot got him lmao😭
Saw this when it dropped, W
LOL glad someone noticed the comedy
I like how they used an old 2015/2016 STI and not the 2021 STI....
Pre facelift vs pre facelift, pre facelift VA ugly af
I can assure you dear viewer that the angle of the race officials was crucial to the plot
They 100% needed to have those angles for those “officials” there 😂
😂😂😂
Cool video indeed but VA for me is the better looking car.
The VA def has smoother lines.. but it looks dated compared to the VB
@@juanticimowell they used a 15-17 VA. The 18-21 was better looking overall.
@@juanticimo they should've used a facelift variant of the STi in my opinion but I get what you mean
Ok…this commentary was awesome!!
Super dry, and tongue in cheek funny!!
😂
I loved it!! 🥰
Thank you haha!
Great commentary bro! Made me chuckle a few times 😄
Happy you had at least one laugh bro!
Great video. I’m a big fan of the wrx and this shows that it doesn’t always have to be one sided towards the sti. I as many others love them both .
Me too! Thanks for the comment

The dash in the VB looked nice
I have the WRX Sportswagon VN and it has STI all over it 😂
Lol ur funny in this. Good to see some features from Japan and what to use to make it oem plus
I bought that grill took 6 months to get from japan but it really does look so much better than the stock gray one especially on black car

Vb is superior in every way. Used to think the Va looked better until you see the vb in person then start modding it.
I seen 1500HP EJ... but let me know when you find a FA can do that. Until then All STI with EJ > WRX with FA.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the cherry blossom red bottomline kit on wrb. But I like it

The entire driveline is different. Idk what you’re saying. Suspension and brakes are different. The bodies look the same and that’s about it.
Sounds like a comment from a wrx owner..

There are two groups of Subaru fans. WRX fans and everybody else. Both demand a “STI Trans” except one is a car part and the other is a date.

Yeah a rear wiper would be nice. The North American market doesnt get a lot of the standard goodies the Japanese and Australian markets get

Yeah that VA is quickly starting to look outdated
Dont get how anyone says the VA looks better than the VB. I feel like the VA is the worst looking one.😊
No way VB would be quicker than VA STI in that scenario. Nice marketing though. Everyone still wants a proper VB STI.
