the viper engine is a 318/360 Magnum engine with 2 extra cylinder's .Chrysler in it's ultimate wisdom figured out why not take there standard engine from the 80's and add couple extra pistons to make gobs of power . yes when you figure this out it seems like a ripoff but the engine does work.

One thing I often wondered. Dodges big na powerhouse engine. The v10 that was helped designed by Lamborghini. But the heads was built by dodge ... Now how crazy dodge was with the hemi design head, never built the v10 as a hemi. Wonder how much more power that engine could of produced if it was a actual hemi
