5 years ago I was single and bought a Harley Fatboy. Now, I'm married with a kid (planning for several more) and I'm drooling over the Sienna. I wish I knew how awesome they were years ago.
Toyota notes a safety issue: Ottoman should only be used while parked. During a crash, especially when leaned back, the person may slide out of the seatbelt. Also more leg injuries. Adding spare tire = no ottoman. This is a concern. I've changed a tire 3-4 times in my life after 10pm or interstate HWY, nowhere near an open tire shop. Road Assistance can take 1~8hrs. I can change a tire in 20mins. 5mins with my floor jack.
This works pretty well as yo how we put the wheelchair in the middle row and handicap drive the van. You transfer into driver seat and we use a pulley to tug chair into space between driver seat and midrow seat.
The 2nd row ottoman only standard on the platinum which is 60k msrp not including any packages. I’ve quoted 80k for a loaded platinum trim from multiple dealership. We’re in a crazy time period that economy mini can cost on average 60k. Even a Toyota Corolla start at 22k msrp, which my nearby Toyota dealership ask average 3k markup. You’re looking at about 28k out the door for a entry level economy car…….
For anyone who is interested in these ottomans, you have to get some of the higher trim options to get them. HOWEVER, if you get those high trims with AWD as well, they will delete just these seats. So buyer beware - lots of people have missed this detail when purchasing and complained online about it.
It’s ridiculous. Dealers are charging 10k markup over MSRP. No middle class family can afford this now. Are you listening Toyota?
