We went with XLE AWD. I'm in Canada, and the difference between the two was just over 3k. The LE didn't come with a remote start, and my dealer quoted me 1k to install one. By the time we factored that in, it was definitely worth the money to upgrade to the XLE. It's an absolutely beautiful vehicle. I went with Blizzard Pearl as well

I live in Raleigh, love your videos, Jeff! My family & I rented an LE for a road trip to Florida and it was amazing. We split the journey home into 2 parts, second part leaving from Savannah, GA and I averaged 40.2mpg! We hit traffic a couple times so the all electric coasting really worked in our favor. If we could afford one I’d get it in a heartbeat. Easily the best family car. I’d probably purchase a lumbar pillow as the lack of lumbar adjustment did get to me a little on the drive down to FL (did that in one shot) but the seats were still very comfortable. Visibility was good, engines noise was a bit high but that doesn’t bother me, I actually like to be able to hear it in case something goes wrong. On the highway, with cruise, it’s not loud at all, it was under heavy acceleration that it was more noticeable. If the time comes that we can afford the hybrid Sienna, I’ll be calling you up, Jeff!

Test drove an identical XLE a couple days ago, but with the captain's chairs instead of the bench. I was expecting it to be a dog with only 245 HP, but the acceleration shocked me! It got up to speed plenty quick enough, brakes felt strong and sure, and I was impressed by how quiet it was! LE with the convenience package probably has the best value, but I'm an Uber driver, and everyone who's ridden in an Uber with cloth seats remembers the smell; so an XLE with it's softex (and captain's chairs) will be a must. One thing I'll miss about my 2010 is it has little storage cubbies under the driver's door armrest, perfect for your preferred method of personal protection. Seems new cars lack the perfect cubby for that.

I love this vehicle and am working on a decision between this and the Honda. The things that are questions for me are…..middle seats that cannot be removed, as I do frequently need the space, the permanent arm rests on the console, as I like to have space for my arms and not arm rests interferring with movement and the kick opening doors. In the summer these doors would be awesome but in areas that get snow, that builds up on rockers, wheel wells and the back of a vehicle. Snow interferes with back up and side sensors so I assume that it will impede the door openers as well. I do love the hybrid and the warranty on that system, which is not offered with the Honda. I also love having a shifter. My decision is still up in the air!

    • @MedarloXX
      @MedarloXX 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Just something to look into is the Honda engine problems they sometimes been having over some years now. I haven’t heard sienna having them and just something to look into because I am choosing between these two right now also.

I appreciate the information on the changes made in the 2022 Sienna. I would really like to see just how much floor space there is if the third row seats are folded flat and the second row seats are forward as far as possible. I want to know if there is room to put a decent camping bed inside. I wish the second row seats were EASILY removed! If they have put on a tow package and cross bars, I suspect Toyota realizes that people want to get out there and camp. It isn't just families who drive vans! We don't need lounge chairs in the back with a movie screen- we older folks have raised our kids and now want time for ourselves-- and that means traveling this country and seeing the national parks! Thanks for letting me vent-

Everybody has their own opinion, but I feel that the decrease in overall power compared to the previous generation is a non-issue. The previous 3.5L V6 was more than the Sienna needed. You stepped on that thing, and it would MOVE. The slight decrease in power is a MORE than fair trade-off for the double in MPG that you are getting. A slight decrease in power to double the MPG? I'll take that all day, ever day.

    • @piggy310

The 3.5 is adequate in a porker like the Sienna, the same 3.5 in a 3,200 lb Camry is different, last Gen Sienna weighs 4,500 lbs , empty.

Took delivery of our loaded out 2021 Sienna XSE last week (color is Blueprint which was in your video). We are moving up from a 2016 XLE. This unit was ordered before they hit the lots so no test drive (I work for Toyota). The only thing that I am disappointed in is the head room, which I haven’t seen much about it in all the online reviews. I am 6’3” and a very large frame. I am used to not fitting well into cars (although my daily driver is a 2015 Scion xB and I love it) but was taken back by how difficult it is for me to get into the vehicle and how far I have to lean the seat back for my head to be “just touching” the headliner. Anyone that is 6 foot tall or taller will be having issues getting in the van (I have lean all the way forward and bend my head into my chest to enter) and if you like sitting upright in a vehicle, you are out of luck. Otherwise, we love it to this point. There is no way I could drive or ride in it on a daily basis. Maybe if I just stick my head out of the moon roof. I will add that the leg room seems to be better than the last model which is a plus.

@@SoulFire209 so upon further research, there is in fact less vertical space in the cabin due to the seats being raised up to fit the battery packs under the seats. It’s something I’ve come to accept as I am not the primary driver of the vehicle. I could never be the primary driver though given the issue. I’ll continue enjoying my Scion xB as my daily driver.

Dealerships around my area hijacked the price to $50k out the door with XLE model. There are a few things I dislike about the Toyota sienna:
    - 2nd-row middle seat design is awful.
    - Seem smaller than other competitors, would be less comfortable seating 8 people
    - I cannot find a configuration of XLE AWD 8 Passenger on any dealers. They don't exist.
If it weren't for the price hike because of covid19 I would've bought it for MSRP price. I'm looking at the new 2022 Kia Cardival since I would be saving 10k for the same specficications.

@@FranciscoSanchez-zh6bu eh. I’m a lifelong Yota guy who’s seriously eyes the Pacifica which many car reviewers, especially those who like style and performance give the nod to. As a former Sienna minivan owner and former RAV4, Corolla, Tacoma, MR2 now currently me dailying an RX by Lexus and my wife a PriusV, the new Sienna with their trying to pretend it’s not a minivan and meh styling, their downscale interior and removing decent features the devaluation is worth the money to get something that looks good and feels more luxurious. The only minivan that felt nicer than the loaded Pacifica Hybrid (Limited, not Pinnacle) that my wise and I sat in was Kia Carnival, which, man, Kia has been killing it making great vehicles. Digressing after sitting in the nicest minivans $50K can buy Pacifica FTW. And yes, the Pacifica Hybrid gets a touch less gas mileage but our commutes are sub 10 miles which will mean all electric almost all the time so Pacifica > Sienna MPG based on its use (may need to put gas in the Pacifica with our current use three times a year) and while there’s no stow-and-go on the Pacifica Hybrid second row (battery is in the floor) one easy handle unlocks the seats, boom, Bob’s your uncle, plywood and other larger items we sometimes need to move where with the Sienna we’d have rent a truck. Pacifica FTW many times over.

XSE is mostly about visual improvements. It’s what we just got. It’s basically a better looking XLE.

Jeff, can you buy an XLE awd 7 seater, then buy the middle row seats to make it a 8 seater awd? I am not sure why the heck Toyota does not offer 8 seater awd on XLE or above trims??!! Why not give us that option if you already offer the 8 seater awd on the LE trim but want more of the extras that XLE and above offers!!! You reading this Toyota?! We want 8 seater awd on XLE and above trims!

36mpg? Not on my 2021 Sienna Limited. 32.5mpg for the first 5k miles, even less during city driving. Front seats are below average, basically a 6 way seat and not good for non-tall people.
