Thank you so much, Jen Kingwell, Aurifil & Fat Quarter Shop. I love, love, love working with Aurifil thread for my applique work, but have never tried needle turn applique before. I am so excited to put these ideas to work (and to add a bunch of new colors to my growing thread collection). I also have never shopped before at the Fat Quarter Shop. I didn't realize they carried quality fabrics like Moda. I placed my first order there today! What a wonderful place to get exactly the fabrics and pre-cuts I want.
I'm 68 years old, learned how to sew in junior high, and have sewn many garments over the years, but I don't remember hearing the hint of thread having a nap and to bring it through the eye of the needle from the first of the thread that comes off the spool! My teacher might have mentioned it on a day I was home sick, or maybe I just don't remember and have been doing it the right way at least most of the time. I was worth watching this for this hint alone! Thanks, Jen and for Kim having her on her "show".:-)
I’m so thankful for this video! I am planning to appliqué some hearts and was wondering the best way to manage the two points. Great video and fantastic instructor!!
Thank you sewww much! I will have to go back and watch this in a mirror as I am a lefty 😊. I have always wanted to learn to appliqué and this gives me a good place to start.
