Agnea apothecary. Replenish Health with Agnea's latent power made a lot of tough battles a lot more survivable. I used that to cheese my way through some stuff for which I was otherwise under-leveled (like running around the danger-level-48 shipwreck while only in the mid-thirties).
Throne is actually a special case where she works well with just about any secondary class. However, i will say her strongest is Armsmaster. She can use her corrosive skill to debuff enemy defenses, and her night time debuffs against enemies further her damage output. Additionally, being able to take two turns at once allows her access to drastic burst damage. Additionally, Hikari doesnt need armsmaster since the learned skills he has access to like Limb from Limb, Mythical Bore, Last Gasp, and Frenzied Fire more than accomplish granting him high damage output. Hikari's main concern is whether his secondary class grants him the proper weapon accesses
Thank you I thought i was the only dude out here using armsmaster on her it actually does a disgusting amount of damage and shreds sheilds with six fold strike and the divine weapon skills do ridiculous damage if the enemy is weak to it with the sheilds down can hit way over 9999 easily with her with armsmaster and like you said with her special skill you can break sheilds save your boost then absolutely shred with a divine weapon special arms refinement passive skill is also disgusting on her getting rapid two attack turns if you're doing damage that the enemy is weak to her physical attack is also really high so every weapon type works very well
My Osvald has Conjurer as secondary Job, it will not be as effective as Cleric, but it makes for a more fun experience than having two characters with the identical job combinations. The elemental conjuring spells are actually quite useful to quickly break opponents with a lot of shield points.
Oz is way better as an Arcanist than Partitio. Seal of diffusion doesn't work on Donate BP, but it does work on Stroke of Genius, which is downright silly for stacking your whole team with a buffet of buffs. I have my Oz flex between doing this for support while Armsmaster Hikari handles dps, but Oz can step into that role in a pinch too. I run Cleric Castti and Merchant Agnea (the latter with First step) so Mother Hen can juice up the crew with BP on turn one, then bestow Aelfric's Blessing on turn two. Meanwhile Agnea keeps the team on the nose end of the turn order, dumps BP into the dps of choice, and tops them off with Seduction. Because it's your turn when I say it's your turn.
I like arcanist Partitio more than Oswald. The seal of diffusion is pretty effective with rest and side step. It's a nice skill to have in your back pocket for managing health and damage intake across the whole party. I find that to be more useful for the final bosses in the game. You need to keep all eight characters in mind for the final boss. Agnea's and Casti's latent powers are all you need to keep your party buffed offensively. Both make great conjurists.
Personally I went: Ochette: Hunter/Thief Castii: Apothecary/Warrior Thief gives her great coverage, access to more debuffs, and generally as she's the fastest on my team excluding Agnea. She's also got one of the smaller HP pools and defense so HP thief helps her self sustain. Plus Indomitable Beast x Aeber's Reckoning is a great combo. Or Indomitable beast x Surprise Attack. Plus in theory she could deal the most damage in a 3 turn phase with Salt the Wound. Castii outside of Hikari has the highest HP pool and solid physical/magical defense. With a decent attack stat. Coupled with Apothecary self heal makes the best tank. Warrior gives her coverage and access to Brand's Blade and Latent Power Plus. Add in concot and she's the Best debuffer, healer, and BP Battery. Late game Castii is a definite S teir character. As for Agnea I'd say earl to mid game she's better as a Cleirc than Inventor. But Late game Dancer/Inventor is best for Agnea. Her and Castii synergize reall well with keeping up each of their BP for Buffs. Not to mention Arkors Coil x Latent Power Plus x Judgement makes Temenos the best Shield breaker in the game outside of Ochette Glitch. My main team overall is Ochette DPS/Buffer, Castii Tank/BP Battery/Debuffer/Support DPS, Agnea Support, Temenos Healer/Support
I think Hunter might actually be better for Osvald. He is mostly useful as a shield breaker, so the weapon coverage is pretty nice. But also, it gives him the ability to equip weapons that boost his lightning and ice magic damage. I was able to get him a 60% boost on both as a hunter, which far outweighs the magic stat loss. Pair this up with the Of Equal Might support skill, and you have a character that can hit pretty hard with both magic and weapons.
Cleric for early-mid and arcanist for mid-late game is the best for him you want to maximize his elemental attacks as much as possible because they are very powerful arcanist is almost overpowered on him so much coverage and damage and basically infinite hp and sp with malice and blessing and seal of diffusion is extremely good price or power is also really good on him as a passive skill uses double the sp but raises you're magic attacks significantly add that with advanced magic and you'll be shredding through bosses and sp is no issue because of sp recovery passive skill (gain an amount of sp equivalent to 1% of the damage you take) and blessing
Arcanist and armsmaster are the 2 best jobs arcanist is easily for osvald or temonos and armsmaster for theive warrior or hunter i personally have arcanist on osvald scholar on temonos warrior on ochette and armsmaster on throne and melted through their chapters with those 4 and yes armsmaster on throne is really good her physical attack is really high and is a sheild melter and can hit really hard after breaks with any physical type with the divine weapon skills with the armsmaster
In my opinion: Ochette: Warrior is pretty good, no disagreements. She makes for a decent Thief, too. Castti: Armsmaster. Hear me out. With Concoct, she has access to AoE Dark, Wind and Light. If she equips weapons that raise those types of spells, she hits harder than even Osvald at times. A word of warning though, Concoct is jank and will not automatically use the highest Elemental Attack weapon. You need to select it manually. Also, don't use Critical Scope in combination with it. Castti isn't a bad Merchant or Conjurer either. I'd even give a slight nod to Scholar for early-game Concoct shenangians. I slept so hard on her elemental Concocts. Throné: While she's also a good Armsmaster, I prefer Dancer as well. A niche strategy of hers involves Warrior and Ensnare, but it's a little too crazy for me. Osvald: Cleric is a good choice but Merchant deserves a nod for his Mug path action. So cheese. Partitio: Arcanist is great but I like him as a Dancer more. Turn 1 Sealticge is crazy good. He's good with any subclass though. Agnea: Inventor is the best choice but she's so versatile. She makes for a great Warmaster, funnily enough. Temenos: Scholar is so good for his path action, and if you pair him with Dancer Partitio, he can shield break multiple targets with ease. Hikari: Don't use Armsmaster on him. It's a waste. You're better off using Arcanist, Apothecary or Merchant on him. With his Learned Skills, he can provide Sidesteps, Light Rune (think Octopath 1's Runelord), a weaker(?) Rest and so much more I've yet to discover. Merchant lets him cheese Challenges that you have zero business winning.
What method are you referencing when you say "cheese" build for Osvald and Hikari using the Merchant sub job? Guessing Hired help? Haven't tried it yet.
@@tfactor7998 Hired Help is useful but the real prizes are Rest and Sidestep. Some fights can be completely trivialized by Sidestep, which allows Hikari early access to some very powerful moves and Osvald can steal some crazy strong items early.
I know I'm unfashionably late, I agree with pretty much everything except hikari armsmaster it's actually pretty good, hikari can get so many skills that hit multiple times that get boosted by the weapons, not to mention that he can hit really hard once or very hard a bunch of times on max BP+armsmaster sword on break. His versatile DPS abilities are insane not to mention the tank capabilities already covered in the video. Totally respect your opinion I just wanted to say my peace on it, hope you're enjoying/enjoyed the game :D
Throne/Apothecary. Her latent power let's her set up poison/weak to poison all in one turn for continuous shield damage, additionally she has HP thief to sustain herself and do great shield chipping (on top of her poison), her EX makes enemies miss physical hits (amazing support with high cheese potential), her high speed lets her act quickly to get off her apothecary's healing/revive and negative status shield asap, and of course shackle foe and armor corrosive give more support And the best part imo: her divine skill let's her invest in enfeebling equipment whilst not missing out on too much damage thanks to the fact that it uses your incredibly high speed stat (which you can buff all by yourself!) instead of your damage. Personally, I went with full poison gear with the poison dagger and hatchet, threw in a hypno sword, and slapped in the enfeebling amulet, every other bit of gear is there to buff up my speed and SP And I gave her -Incidental attack -Deal more damage -Upgrade Accessories (+80 speed charm becomes +120 speed) -Fleetfloot It's fun. :)
Cassti armsmaster is some illegal-looking but rather effective strat. Stacking wind damage buffs from weapons and buffing her elem attack allows cassti to hit 99999 damage cap. I never tried this for myself, but damn it is nice to watch
Im still early but I'm loving Merchant on both Oz and Hikari. Only becasue Mug & fight are solo battles, rest & sidestep are OP and im taking on way higher NPC's that I should be at lower levels. Also Agena with Scholar, her limit break( latent power) turns elemental blast to hit all. its super fun.
I am also early, but overleveled during pre-chapter 2 and I’m doing the same thing at the moment with both for the same reason. I’m level 40 and haven’t touched chapter 2 yet lol. Just been running around and collecting things.
Merchant really is the best sub class for Hikari for most of the game. Being able to tank and self heal hp,sp, and defbuffs is huge. Give him the accessories to make him immune to unconscious and sleep and just let him spam incite and vengeful blade. He has single handedly killed most of the bosses in the game for me. Everyone else is just there to help buff him or debuff the boss but the lions share of damage is hikari.
@@LB-yg2br I do like Merchant Hikari. I just switched him to conjurer now that I’m in the endgame it’s been interesting for sure. Not sure if I’m going to keep him in this class but I like it.

I REALLY like Armsmaster Ochette since the skills let her do crazy amounts of damage and unlike warrior the skills don't overlap with her base ones. Also if you have Mahina Armsmaster Ochette can hit every single weakpoint in the entire game.

I like thief on Partitio more as I use him on team2 exactly like a second throne' stacking speed into the thief's ultimate with his BP ability boosting it to max turn 1. afterwards he feeds Hikari with donate BP. and if Agnea goes before him since a step ahead is weird with turn orders, he get a lion's dance.
Hikari is alwys mentioned as Armsmaster, but heavy disagree. Hikari can do melees and skills himself, he doesnt need to steal the only Armsmaster class to himself. Make him hunter or thief early on, and Conjurer later. Conjurer gives him club proficiency which is the only warrior skill he needs (to have giants club). Save the Armsmaster to Partitio, who will then be also great support, survival, and damage dealer, maximizing his potential. Although Arcanist is good for him as well if you just want him to be a support. Castti also doesnt need Cleric class at all, she already is the best healer and supporter in the game with her potion mixing, and doesnt need anything more. Make her a fighter to give some power attacks and extra potential when she doesnt need to make drugs. For the ultra boss challenge, everyone either dancer or apotechary to spam their ultimate moves of giving items to everyone or extra turns. There survivability is only thing what matters. But I wouldnt use whole game of that setup, just the ultimate post game challenges.
My setup: Ochette: Thief Replaceable with Warrior but it works ok 👌🏻 Castti: Cleric Same reasons as in the video Throné: Dancer Same reasons as in the video Osvald: Arcanist I should definitely make him a Cleric but I opted for Arcanist cuz that makes him moar stronk!!!! Partitio: Conjurer Used to be Agnea until I convinced myself of… Agnea: Inventor Used to be Throné LOL Yeah Throné inventor is fire Temenos: Scholar Same reasons as in the video, awesome shield breaker. Hikari: Armsmaster Same reasons as in the video Naturally powerful…
The Arcanist's Seal of Diffusion actually does NOT work with donate BP. That's because it only affects skills that target the user (like Rest and Sidestep). Still, I agree that Partitio as Arcanist is very broken. You can also give him Sealticge's Seduction so he can then apply Reflective Barrier to ALL allies to reflect magick attacks, which makes him even more broken!
@@harifederer I realize that. However, he is the ONLY character who can be a Merchant/Arcanist, which gives you access to both party-wide Sidestep and Reflective Barrier.
@@Werewolf293 yes, Hikari can also give the entire party Divine Protection if he has Sealticge's Seduction cast on him (makes entire party invincible!). That's what I love about this game. There's no one "best" way to play it really. You have so many options.
I don’t think Hikari needs Arms Master. With his learned Skills he has plenty of damage just as a Warrior and learned skills. Give hime more Weapon access and he’s fine! Either run it on Ochette or Throné.
Agree. Arms Master is 100% waste on Hikari, when others can benefit from it much more. Hikari doesnt really need it, and rather uses the skills he already has and battle tested weapons. All Hikari needs in late game is a class that gives him use to Clubs to wield Giants Club, Conjurer being the best choice but others are fine too. I gave Arms Master to Partitio to have him as powerhouse to also support but also fight. Ochette would be a good choice too.
The game is unfortunately too easy to warrant much thought as pertains to secondary jobs and skills and such. I mostly kept my party on rotation for much of the game to keep everyone at a decent level, freely swapping secondary jobs between party members and never paying a price for not being optimal. The only time you absolutely have to be optimal is with the “secret”, truly final boss - who is a massively overpowered asshole who plays for keeps. By the time you discover this uncompromising bastard you won’t be prepared for the amount of fine tuning required to best this absolute bastard; it’s almost like a separate game, but an enormously enjoyable challenge. For final-final boss, for Party 1 I went with Osvald-Archanist (for magic power); Partitio-Cleric (for healing support, but Hired Help is absolutely essential in this phase, so make sure you have cash on hand); Agnea-Inventor (for obvious reasons, as multifaceted support) and Ochette-Warrior (for weapons variety). For Party 2 I went with Castii-Conjurer (honestly, Castii doesn’t really need a second job, but the fact that you get to equip a staff for maximum magic damage, as well as having access to the emergency healing/revive spell are important); Temenos-Scholar (support and massive magic damage when you need it); Throne-Dancer (her Latent Power Plus that gives you an extra turn is invaluable, as it makes her highly flexible as support and damage dealer); and Hikari-Armsmaster (very obvious: for damage, but also his Learned Skills are a must). I learned this fight on my own, and as my characters weren’t super highly levelled (around Level 70 for most members), it took all my guile and attention to even the minutest details of skills and equipment to figure this thing out. It took me hours and I loved every second of it. A pity that only this one fight was this challenging.
Im sorry what? too easy? its too fvcking grindy. i started with throne and got temenos with me. it took me 1 hour of grinding before i can get to the next area.
@@rhovenom04 You don’t have to grind very much; you just need to know what you’re doing. The only times you’ll be underpowered is if you explore optional areas a few character levels too early, but even then there are workarounds if you pay attention to your character builds. I mean, the highest dungeon level in the game is 55, I believe. Beyond that there are almost no reasons to level up except for the one secret boss fight - way too easy. Give me stuff to do with the characters I spent over 100 hours to level up.
@@petertromp8786 i dont know how much time you have. but if a game is grindy, its hard. That's my logic. Just look at persona 3 reload. I finished the game with zero grind in normal difficulty. I want to progress with the story, if i have to grind for an hour, that is considered hard.
@@rhovenom04the games are only grindy if you want to tackle that secret last motherfucker (I haven't managed to kill Octopath I's one yet; life's too short). First thing you gotta do with those games is get to all the characters as their starting areas have low levels, and by the time you get to the last one, you'll have enough levels to tackle some of their chapters 2 and 3. The rest goes without saying tbh.
Can you go back and change out a character's secondary job after selecting one for them, or is it permanently theres? I don't have all the jobs unlocked yet, and I'm terrified that I might want to change things up later and won't be able to😅
Hikari as Arcanist does blend well too. He can spread his Vengeful Blade & Ultimate Stances upon everyone with seal of diffusion, and not to mention if you pickin "Take Cover" Learned skill, its works as how Partitio Sidestep strategy as Arcanist.
@@BekahBookwyrm thanks for yall input. finally finished all her chapters. had her as a warrior and unlocked armsmaster. thinking of putting her in armsmaster after i find other divine weapons
Its pretty good on a red mage/mixed damage Hikari build, personally I wouldn’t listen to anyone who says to use Armsmaster on Hikari. its a good sub job but Hikari REALLY dosent need it, his learned ability’s gives him better skills and better coverage/versatility than what arms master offers without restricting his weapons. Arms master is better served on Throne IMO, where the only thing she is missing to become a main damage dealer is weapon versatility. She can also do things like use her latent talent > full boost Conquerer’s Blade > use 2nd turn to armor corrosive or attack, which extends its charge time and gets more damage out of it. Or LT > Armor Corrosive > full boost any other armsmaster/Theif skill.

My setup:
Ochette: Thief
Replaceable with Warrior but it works ok 👌🏻
Castti: Cleric
Same reasons as in the video
Throné: Dancer
Same reasons as in the video
Osvald: Arcanist
I should definitely make him a Cleric but I opted for Arcanist cuz that makes him moar stronk!!!!
Partitio: Conjurer
Used to be Agnea until I convinced myself of…
Agnea: Inventor
Used to be Throné LOL
Yeah Throné inventor is fire
Temenos: Scholar
Same reasons as in the video, awesome shield breaker.
Hikari: Armsmaster
Same reasons as in the video
Naturally powerful…
Casti heals everyone with concoctions. I haven’t discovered the best combo for here just yet but I would not run cleric as her sub.
I’m not much of a fan of using concoctions so for me I found she did well as a cleric for my play style.
I went with Conjurer as her second job. So much fun.
@@MrSefiroh I played around with that too. It was a pretty good combo.
I like cleric just because of the divine skill. Giving characters 2 turns (potentially 4 on Throné) is broken.
Um reflective barrier isn’t unique to Partitio.
@@harifederer I realize that. However, he is the ONLY character who can be a Merchant/Arcanist, which gives you access to both party-wide Sidestep and Reflective Barrier.
@@cool_chemist7644 Hikari with "Take Cover" learned skill would says otherwise. :D
@@Werewolf293 yes, Hikari can also give the entire party Divine Protection if he has Sealticge's Seduction cast on him (makes entire party invincible!). That's what I love about this game. There's no one "best" way to play it really. You have so many options.
Saw in another video 7 characters in one party, how do I do that? I only can 4 at a time
Some characters like Partitio can bribe other NPCs to join them.
I put Castti as Conjuer
Right now I have partitio as a athopatic cause I haven’t unlocked that yet
silly question: do hidden jobs replace secondary jobs? If I want hidden job do I need to 'save' secondary job and not select any?
They are the same. You can select either of them to be your secondary job.
@@gabrielgian6207 It's almost perfectly balanced actually.
Can you go back and change out a character's secondary job after selecting one for them, or is it permanently theres? I don't have all the jobs unlocked yet, and I'm terrified that I might want to change things up later and won't be able to😅
No you can swap them out as you please. You can actually use the JP you have to unlock all of their skill for each job.
Hikari as Arcanist does blend well too.
He can spread his Vengeful Blade & Ultimate Stances upon everyone with seal of diffusion, and not to mention if you pickin "Take Cover" Learned skill, its works as how Partitio Sidestep strategy as Arcanist.
Ohhh that’s sounds like a fun build.
@@Dustman1028 feel free, its a fum build xD
What would be the best secondary job for Throne as a main dmg dealer?
Honestly I think Throne works best with Hunter and Dancer
I mainly had her as a hunter or a conjuror (leave no trace and instantly attack after applying an elemental damage buff)
@@BekahBookwyrm thanks for yall input. finally finished all her chapters. had her as a warrior and unlocked armsmaster. thinking of putting her in armsmaster after i find other divine weapons
How can I use the warrior job ?
Have you found the Guild Location in Sai, Hinoeuma? Once you have the License you can give anyone the Warrior Job.
@@Dustman1028 I havent !! I think I kept waiting to find shrines like the previous one -___-
@@letitgoc.7551 there are Alters that unlock each specific jobs EX Skill you can find.
Who would benefit from the Conjuror subclass? I don't want this advanced subclass to feel wasted...
Honestly I’m not a fan of the Conjurerer Job but I’ve heard Osvald is a good one to put it on.
Try Castii.
Why the reupload?
I accidentally deleted it trying to delete a draft of a different video. 😢
@@Dustman1028 Bummer!
@@Flareboxx yea a huge bummer but it is what it is. Haha
Part one is way more rougher than this one. I enjoy this game however part one still better.
I wasn’t a fan of the first one. I started it but never finished it. I found 2 to be way more enjoyable.
i have a team where castti runs merchent to donate bp to ochette or hikari for massive damage but ochette has a damage cap so i would not run warrior for her
But the fourth warrior skill is "deal more damage" and can work on anyone
dang ur right@@BekahBookwyrm
