Hey I just wanted to say thanks, this was hugely helpful. I’ve played a lot of JRPGs but I missed the first OT, and I am absolutely in love with this one but I got in a few weeks after release and just don’t really get much time to play. Being able to see how some job/character combinations work and also including how you use them and what moves/skills you use was super helpful. Im like 40 hours in and I’m still the the super early game… I also play slowly so there’s that too, but I just don’t have the time to do all the trial and error that I wish I could… so seeing how other people use their characters and jobs is a huge help and also helps me better understand them and how they use them so I can make changes that suit my play style. Thank you!
Really like the variety in this game. I 100% the game and still never used some of these job combinations. Awesome how good the balance is that people can really play what they want and the play style they want to enjoy the game without feeling like they need to run a specific character with a specific job
Hey can I just ask, how long did it take you to 100% this game? I haven’t played the first one yet although i fully intend to. I don’t get nearly as much time to play as I wish I did and I LOVE this game… but I’m like almost 40 hours in and barely did everyone’s chapter 2… admittedly I play slowly but how much time am I realistically looking at? Thank you!
@@SwedePotato314 I would say I played at a pretty reasonable pace and watched all the cut scenes of all the stories. It was just under 70 hours. I didn't use the x100 exp thing until preparing for the secret end boss, and it goes really quick.
Wow this was one of the most helpful videos I've seen on combat ideas! If you have any other tips please make another video. I could honestly sit through a video dedicated to each traveler since your info is so helpful. If you did, you could go super in depth with NPC/Monster/Inherited Skill tips as well.
Wow and here I thought they would have nerfed that interaction after how the community bent OT 1 over their knees with the Runeblade/Merchant combo but NOPE, Arcanist is basically the same thing.
@@txgoldrush i havent faced that boss in OT2 but im just going to hazard a guess that Galdera removes buffs, making it impossible to keep the Seal of Diffusion for long.
@@Lonewulf321 not the first time devs nerfed something players discovered. my mind is going to the situation with absolute virtue in ffxi and how many methods of defeating it were nerfed because it wasnt "the intended way"
I didn't show them because outside of the Inventor's A Step Ahead which I use on everyone, I didn't have any specific setups since I constantly changed my support skills to fit the situation; none of the support skills were important for making the jobs I used function so I leave it up to the viewer to use the skills they want.
i bought this game when it came out and stopped a month into it because of the heavy grind of it. I recently picked it back up and now i am a level 40. my line up is vastly different from yours. my main is Themenos and the only reason i chose him was because i finished up the blasphemous games and was on that whole cleric trip! so my current line up is the cleric the scholar the thief and the merchant. watching octopath2 videos im realizing i picked a weak line up but man, am i determined to see it through! your video was informative but i dont use any of the characters you mention except for Ochette.
It's kind of a shame that the armsmaster weapons aren't really good. Because you need them to perform the abilities. I like using the battle tested weapons or the negative stat weapons with blessing in disguise to make them better
I am using hunter on hikari atm, kinda feels good and on ochette i have thief, my armsmaster is the inquisitor himself, paladin build, heals, tanky and 6 points of shields gone XD
For Agnes’s Sealtigce Seduction + Springy Boots, doesn’t Windy Refrain so the same thing with no BP needed and also does damage? Windy Refrain moves everyone up in the move turn but I guess it’s not guaranteed that they will be first? Are there more disadvantages?
So the differences are that Windy Refrain won't always move an ally to the front whereas Springy Boost will, and Springy Boots lasts multiple turns whereas Windy Refrain doesn't. So with Windy Refrain, you are locked into casting it every turn to get the same effect.
This may come as a surprise to you but did you know that there are multiple ways to pronounce names and words? Amazing, huh!? Well it just so happens that the pronunciation I use is the official Japanese pronunciation! Which means that your statement about me not pronouncing his name correctly is actually incorrect. Now that my little language lesson has concluded, you may see yourself out as I don't believe you are welcome here. Good day. : )
@@Hoodiehov215 Honestly I'm unsure of why it's like this because the EN pronunciation is possible in the Japanese language yet they chose not to use it. /shrug

Agnea crushes the Scholar to utilize for the elemental shield breaks as well. Good stuff.

I agree. The ability to mix and match different job combos and find powerful combinations is definitely a highlight of the Octopath series for me.

Why nerf something so fun
@@Lonewulf321 not the first time devs nerfed something players discovered. my mind is going to the situation with absolute virtue in ffxi and how many methods of defeating it were nerfed because it wasnt "the intended way"
@@ogre589 it’s a hypothetical question brother
Warrior Ochette is the Swiss Army knife of this game, also let's Hikari use the Armsmaster class
That is certainly one way to go. I found I preferred Hikari as either Merchant or Archanist though, and Armsmaster on Ochette.
These are golden as I'm end game right now. Conjurer is the last class to unlock. Much appreciated
Partitio sub thief with full power and high speed can let loose with thief's divine skill for very easy enemy clearing
quality editing , eloquence, congrat lil bro
I wish you’d show the support skills for each individually.
That’s usually the most important part for me

A couple of them are useful, but yeah they are underwhelming overall.
The +500 health perk is nice

I don’t know how to use the nuts… or just how who to give them to, and if I’m supposed to save any to unlock job perks.
I think you can save the nuts for later. I started using them early game but I've been stashing them now
The fact that you can’t pronounce partitio is enough to have TH-cam never recommended another one of your videos.
