I got the chance to meet up with Andrew at the 2019 iPd Garage Sale and he gave me a rundown of what he has done to his car that he bought in 2007. His ownership journey may not have started off on the right foot, but we're really glad he stuck with this car, because he has totally transformed it into something truly special. It's also the car that iPd used to engineer their 4T4 turbo kit!

Just sold my V70R, repair costs crossed into the 5 digits mark and I decided to cut it loose. While I did love the car I don't see myself getting another one ever again, it had a lot of character but the car might be slightly overhyped at this point.
Are all volvos that expensive to fix? I'm thing about getting an older 240, 740 or wagon from the 90s.
@@wet_back nah, the P2 R cars are notably some of the most expensive cars to maintain. Older and more simple Volvo's are typically a breeze, parts can be a hassle to get sometimes but they're usually not much more expensive than domestic cars.

wat ?, most expensive things are turbo, and gearbox, all others like axels bushing are like 20dollar-150dollar ... if you talk OEM, yes put 50-100+ dollars to it

Nicely done! Wonderful car, great to see young people who are car crazy like us old guys. Did he wrap (insulate) the crossover pipe to the turbo to keep the air cooler. Love the hood vent, and the removal of all the insulation. Do a feature!! You are a lucky guy to be around all the wonderful modifications. Thanks.

Hey Hanson, I have had two of these cars an 05 that I bought with 130,000 miles and drove it to 177,000, until
it was stolen infant of my house. the front end from your last video , replace those tie rod ends, you also need to check your solution equipment, as it may be clogged and forcing oil out from every possibility. Drew

Love your car, it's the version I wish my car was. I'm driving the high pres T5 of that Era. I could only imagine another solid 100 hp
Map it, my mate did his and hit 290HP. Very noticable difference.

@@lesserlogic9977 some places use remote tuning if you have a VIDA laptop. And in the UK at least there are companies that come to your door and do it. But you're right, custom maps are the best. Early ones are a pain in the ass to map though, and need someone that really knows their stuff. My friends was a 2004 S60 T5. Dyno before said 240 odd, after a shade under 290. Change injectors etc and it was over 300. Bloody rocket ship it was.

That tyre writing and those headlight sticker are just the icing on the cake it’s such a ricer car that an 18 year old would have it is so crap in quality and keeps breaking so truly shows the “Volvo quality” it’s just an old man car but riced to hell
"Volvo Quality" shines through when you have a some kid who doesn't know how mod correctly and rips the car all the time. Check out the actual high quality builds on swedespeed and you'll see what these cars can really do. Drowsy camera control, lack of confidence in describing a raging beast as the Volvo S60. You don't describe a Volvo s60 and sing through the nose.
i think it looks like a ricer, and for that rough look it should have a lot more power than it does.
