I think Volvo was the first "luxury" european car that came to North America long before bmw audi. But they died out and remerged again since the new Volvo platform.

Saab and Volvo's, are my all-time favorites. I was a automotive technician at a shop that specialized in swedish cars for almost 10 years. I now work in IT. I will always have a lust for swedish vehicles.:)

If you go to a big volvo event, ex vallakra in sweden, you have 20000 people and 1500-2000 cars and thats a little too much ground to cover.. Keep it up guys!

In my teens and when taking driving license my family had a 240. Sounds very old but it was a 1993, had AC, ABS and cruise control (or what it's called - "maintain this speed" but no + or -). So kind of crazy that the old 240 could get that in the end.
Go to Sweden and you see these cars everyday, my neighbours all got classic volvos on their lawns which they drive to work and the kids got their own volvos which they're modifying daily.

A friend gave me his xc70 2.5T AWD 2007 (166,000km) this summer. He was upgrading to an Audi and the dealer was not giving a decent amount for the car. In live in Quebec ie Canada and the currency exchange rate vs the USD and the Euro is weak. It means they are expensive to have serviced at the dealer. In this case it had been and at around 150,000 km : new timing belt, battery, all the brakes, etc. What a gift ! I changed a wheel baring, bough a new side mirror and new rims for the winter tires (mandatory). Love it. I hope it will last me 5 more years. IE to when I retire. We have 10 in of wet snow this Tuesday and have no problem going up the steep road at the country cottage without getting the snow blower out. I wonder how it will do in pounder snow? :)

I personally have a 940 estate just outside of my door and an 1800ES which is the shooting break version of the p1800 in my garage. volvos really are the best!

i worked at a volvo wrecking yard in LA for 45 years before moving to the desert it would make you crazy thinking of all the volvos that i have scraped over that 45 years. rare volvos that i regret today scraping them. the one i regret the most was a 43 volvo at the time it was the oldest volvo in the USA. but did not find that out till some years later. volvos in my opinion are the safest car out there. still have spuds my 68 volvo 122 amazon

It will be fully restored in about 6 months. 20t turbo green injectors, snabb intake package and snabb down pipe, R manifold 3 inch ipd exhaust, and do88 inter cooler and radiator .Full suspension overhaul with lowering springs and koni FSD gold. Going to be putting in a new ac compressor soon if i cant get a new clutch plate and a lifter job.
