I was going thru the heartache of having a four year relationship crash and burn in a big way in 2001. This song got me thru. 20+ years later, its still so meaningful. Thank God for coming up short for someone's "wanting something more" no mattter how much you put aside your own wants/needs. The longing in this song... its so real. Pat is amazing.
This song always gave me some warm Beatles vibes. I still remember my mom buying the cassette tape on Mother's Day, 2001, shortly after it was released. Feels like a lifetime ago. Every song on the album just takes me back to those (super) early 2000s.
i love Train soo much..they're not only amazing musicians..but they put so much emotion into their music..its about loving the art and they defenetly know how to show that love..brilliance!
@@lastcrazyhorn I remember hearing it on the radio back in ‘01, but it fizzled out pretty quickly. And it was the adult alternative (aka “VH1 rock”) station that played it, it was never on the top 40 station.
@@RandomNonsense1985 No their first 7 albums were great and then starting with Play That Song they became bland background music for middle-aged Karens
Beautiful song. I like Train a lot, but it's the first time I hear this song. It's a quite different style from all I heard from them before. The songwriting - tune and band accompaniment - strongly reminds me of John Lennon's style (especially in the Mind Games album); but, Pat's voice is very different from John's, of course. I loved it - although, I'm 16 years late to "discover" it!
This was the best part of Train. I have loved them for 17 years and have met Pat, Scott and Jimmy quite a few times. Its only Pat left now but I still listen to all their old songs daily.
I played a hole in the cd that this song was on back in the day, to the point that my (now grown) kids knew the lyrics to the whole thing. Let myself listen to this just now for the first time in years, did not have the heart to listen to it as it reminds me strongly of my big sister who passed away in 2009. Brought tears to my eyes hearing those first few chords. I saw them live back before Drops of Jupiter came out, they were still setting up their own stuff even. Charlie Colin gave me eyes all night, always wish I’d had the balls to see where that led :) Love love love Train. Especially that album.
This has quickly become one of my top favorites from this band. Even though their new stuff is terrific, the Drops of Jupiter cd will always remain their best..in my opinion, anyway. Do they perform this song live at their shows nowdays? I have been searching this site for some live versions, had no luck.If anyone can steer me in the right direction with some concert clips of this song, I would appreciate it!
This sis something i found so fit my Mother-who died 7 years ago-She was such a free spirit-a "Hippie' in her time-but in know she's traveling the galaxy now-enjoying the ride!
This is a great song and a great video by one of my favorite groups. I wonder if they ever play it in concert? I've seen them twice and they didn't do it live.
@car2bam I agree, the DOJ cs is my favorite, I just love the 'orchestra-ish' sound it has. I LOVE the song Something More! Pat has definitely one of the best voices out there. Hearing him hit the high notes on a song like Dream On, or watching him sing When I Look To The Sky without a mic, he is AMAZING.
You fargan bastages done it! Greatest song and video of my day, so far!! You should be very proud of yourselves!!! 🤙😎. 5🐝 & 5👍 on the 🐝&👍 scale (perfect score) ☮️
I’m an old fan of Train, though I still haven’t quite gotten used to the 3rd album, what’s it called? I guess they’re going strong. Their music sounds so great that it really stands the test of time, those 1st 2 albums. Maybe I’ll give “Calling All Angels” or whatever the heck it is another chance. Time heals the wheels no one can see, as Todd Rundgren eloquently sang it. Anyway, this is actually the 1st time I’ve seen this music video, right here on TH-cam, on Wed., 7/22/20. This video is so great. The symbolism hits home for me - & not just figuratively either. I had an American convertible. It was awesome but it died. I got some approving glances from beautiful women when I drove it - especially when my son was in the back (he looks like a cross between a young Elvis Presley and me, so you can imagine the smiles, waves and blown kisses we received). And to think that our lives kinda mirrored THIS song.... I guess even the best of us can have the worst luck. That’s alright because things just got 100% better!!!
Having never seen these guys live yet(would give an arm and leg to,lol) I was wondering, do they do this song live at their shows? I have searched youtube looking for live versions, no luck. This is one of my faves by them. I love the orchestra-ish sound on the DOJ cd. This song ranks number 3 behind Drops Of Jupiter and Calling All Angels. Though it is HARD to narrow down their songs to just a few faves!
I would never throw a grill over a cliff that had burgers on it, looked like it may have had bacon too. I think his car is a "symbol" of excess baggage , that he wants to get rid of, and he meets others on the way with their baggage and so they throw it in. Get rid of the baggage and throw it off the cliff, but not the bacon cheesburgers.
it is now 2012...i used to listen to this song every day...this is the first time i've seen the video though... and i'm all like "oooohhh. so the guys helping push the car are the band members, that's clever" :B wow. i feel dumb. lmao
@Rigson Yeah, you're right!!! Did you know, according to wikipedia, Pat Monahan was in a led Zeppelin tribute band before he was in Train? That's why this is one of the few pop bands I really like, because they're influenced by the classics. : )
more we always see us as......... are we ever........ one found as we see us as...... dreams we see us as....... more ...... to be the one we are...... going out to find the one we are........ are we ever found .......... as we want to b e..... more or less..... or just a dream ..... ever coming true........ as we see us ........

@car2bam I agree, even with all their material, DOJ is my fave cd as well.I love the 'orchestra-ish' sound to it. This song is my second fave of theirs behind DOJ itself. I don' think they perform Something More at shows, do they?
Ha I remeber when they filmed this where I lived. My sister wanted them to sign her shirt and I told em I never heard of them XD. I wish they didn't push that car off our hill. I liked that car. D:

FRANK SINATRA LYRICS "Wait Till You See Her" Wait till you see her, see how she looks, wait till you hear her laugh, Painters of painting, drivers of gloom never could tell the height, Wait till you feel the warmth of her glance, pensive and sweet and wise, All of it lovely, all of it thrilling, I'll never be willing to free her, When you see her, you won't believe your eyes. Amen. Shalom.
Big ups if you’re still listening to this beautiful, underrated song, two whole decades later. I’m not crying, you’re crying 🖤
I’m not crying. 🎉🎉🎉
Om crying
dec 2024. still listening.
definitely one of the most underrated train songs.
It’s one of my favorites. I had this CD.🤓😂
I can put this song on repeat, love the chorus.
RIP Charlie Colin (November 22, 1966 - May 22, 2024), aged 57
You will be remembered as a legend

interesting 13 yrs ago this song was awesome ... 13yrs later :3 it still is x.x hitting replay like crazy!!!
This album is a Masterpiece after all these years, I still listen 2 it and smile
100 percent agree.
Such a strong album from start to finish.
The bass line on Mississippi is a perfect ender to an album
🔥💯
Another phenomenal song I've never heard before and I like train just the way they are
thanks for the reminder youtube... present and accounted for!
1998-2014 the best Train era of them as a rock and country and bluegrass and jazz and blues and gospel and folk group
i love Train soo much..they're not only amazing musicians..but they put so much emotion into their music..its about loving the art and they defenetly know how to show that love..brilliance!
This is by far their best song IMO, I'm trying to figure out how this song didn't do better when it came out, outstanding song!
bcuz MOST ppl don't understand it; it's underlining meaning
Radio stations would have had to have played it, for one. Pretty sure they didn’t, since this is the first time I’ve heard it.
@@lastcrazyhorn I remember hearing it on the radio back in ‘01, but it fizzled out pretty quickly. And it was the adult alternative (aka “VH1 rock”) station that played it, it was never on the top 40 station.
I like the old Train better than the new group. This was a masterpiece

The first song that got me hooked on Train...then I found out there was so much more..=)
It's symbolic. They're throwing in things that represent the lives they no longer want (i.e., something more).
Beautiful. .

*Train - Something More*
Awesome song!
very underrated band
Priv Sindhar I've been saying that for years, undervalued and underplayed.
Yes indeed
very much so I am constantly finding new music by these lot each one a masterpiece.

This is a great song and a great video by one of my favorite groups. I wonder if they ever play it in concert? I've seen them twice and they didn't do it live.
Dude queen kicked butt. Also, considering that everyone liked 80's music in 2002 I don't think it will die anytime soon.

I love his voice.
train the best band ever they are on fire with all thses songs
Love this song.
Their Best of their best. HOOYAH!
This song could have easily been on one of the Beatles' last albums or an early Lennon or Harrison album and fit right in.
Holy F.
I've said for the longest time that this song has so many Beatles tones.
That's crazy you posted that.
i love all the music of you.
hope you have fan meeting in thai land.
Train😁
Love how Pat still gets a picture on that tv,even though it is not even plugged in,lol!
His songs put me in a trance!

You guys are amazing. Keep rocking! Wish I could see y'all in September but it's sold out. Maybe next time...
Ahah fantastic! You can say everything, but you can't say that Train can't sing!
Best song ever. Fantastic
Train is from San Francisco, and the classic car scene here is very well established. Car shows like the one in "Drive By" happen all the time.
