It can still be funny to start off with trap, wall, then shield. Hey as a ronin main it’s important to use the crouch dash and pages with Ronin! You move even faster and further. (If you’re unaware, you crouch just after you dash off a ledge or small object and go further faster!) this also works with any Titan actually but on ronin it’s best
Target priority: target the lowest health titan available to reduce how much damage you take. You can usually kill them vary quickly before they can do any significant damage if you play your cards right. I personally like to damage titans a bit before I call in ronin to make this more effective. Also you can use electric smoke offensively which can be a life saver if you’re going against multiple titans especially if there is a legion around. I like to pop an electric smoke on top of a legion and constantly circle them as I’m dealing damage, I found this to be the most effective way to destroy legion mains. Lastly pay attention to terrain. Terrain can have such a huge impact on fights and I find it’s often overlooked. But there’s also lots of space for pilots to hide which they can absolutely melt you if they gang up. Areas that are very open tend to not be that great for engaging legion or North Star, but are great for going after scorch, ion and pilots. My highest titan kill count is 12 in attrition and 14 in Titan brawl. I usually get 5 or 6 titan kills per attrition game if I’m not specifically trying to target titans.
Tip: The arc wave insta kills tones and leagions deployable shields, so use it to your advantage. Just be aware that with legion it can be a bit glitchy. Arc wave will also kill a lot of the deployment timer on ions vortex and schorches thermal shield, which can be helpful
As a G70 Legion, I also have a tip: If there is an arc wave coming at you, look towards it and tilt your Predator Cannon with gunshield active upwards at an angle of about 60 to 65 degrees. As a result, arc waves will do zero damage to the gunshield even they hit you and do damage to you. This catches most people completely off guard because most Ronins think that they can remove Legion's gunshield at will. This works best with high sensitivity.
I would argue that Temporal Anomaly is ronins best kit. Paired with Turbo Engine it gives you a 4th dash essentially which can conversely be used to justify the use of Overcore, which obviously gets you your get out of jail free card in Sword Core much quicker which can be a massive game changer if used correctly. Or if your feeling adventurous you could even run Countermeasures. But the main reason I stan Temporal Anomaly is because Thunderstorm generally leads to more downtime if you use it in the way people typically do. If you engage with an arc wave, unload, disengage with an arc wave and run you have to wait much longer before you can do that full manoeuvre again. Its more efficient to be able recharge your safety net of Phase Dash with your arc wave in my opinion. The better way to use thunderstorm is in conjunction with Turbo Engine. Engage with an Arc wave, unload, arc wave again, reload as you dash behind the titan and you can pull off another magazine 7/10 times. But that does require a more careful maintenance of your dashes, so in my opinion it’s either this thunderstorm strategy or the safer more reliable Tenporal Anomaly strategy, for the more efficient way to deal damage. Other tips: Just be annoying as possible in general. Ronin gets the biggest power boost by being with a friendly out of any other Titan, Monarchs in particular. I don’t see enough titan teaming in general (I like to run in duos with my mate, we can still move around independently of the team but can take on pretty much anyone else on the map) but when he’s with a friendly push anything and just stick around enemies. Worst case scenario your a distraction and an easy kill for your friend, best case scenario you just rinse the other guy and come out with 0 damage taken. Arc waves should be used to disengage when you have the drop on a group, never to engage, you’ll just alert everyone. Unload the shotgun as much as you can and the second someone notices you, arc wave, bring up the block just in case, phase, drop the smokes and run. If your not confident in that, don’t engage the group. Nice vid mate,
On the contrary, Thunderstorm makes you stay away for long enough that the enemy’s object permanence expires. It also gives you time to think and reposition, instead of increasing the pressure on using your phase dash on cooldown. Temporal Anomaly is a good kit, but not good enough to justify giving up an Arc Wave, especially against a Monarch.
At first I was like "ive already fugured out all of these tips I dont need to watch this. And then you talked about strategies, and titan matchups, and the mental game. Amazing guide!
As a retired veteran that plays Ronin. If you know you can't get a good pick from the enemy team because they are packed together and helping each other out, equip nuke core and fase dash into them to either cause them to run away and be easier targets for your friendly titans and becoming a roach by doing rodeos and using your anti titan gun or punish them and get a fat kill streak. (Note 1: only do this if your in the danger zone as, at that point, you can't do much against them.) (Note 2: Make sure that you sacrificing your titan gives more value than having it alive.) (Note 3: Help your fellow titans by any means necessary.)
I sometimes run counter ready because for some funny reason you can phase through a titan or two and while phased you can drop your electric smokes and they go into the real world. Pair this trick with a friendly scorch and the enemy titans health will be gone in seconds
As a part time ronin main, sword block is op, it blocks 70% of ALL damage, no matter where its coming from, a ronin can survive a full laser core and only be left at half health, so use your fucking sword block whenever you're taking too much damage.
you can drop smoke whilst phase dashing which makes it sm more useful to have an extra one. also the extra dash means it takes longer to get back all of your dashes which means you cant sustain speed as well and have more burst speed than anything.
A note to mention which I'm not quite sure if it was covered: Always block when phased. Especially when close to enemy titans lest you wish to be instantly destroyed in a reverse Phase Shift implode.
dude this video is amazing!!! i've been playing ronin for a while now cuz i got bored of scorch and northstar, but i was getting my ass handed to me for a while with ronin, and this video helped me a ton to play ronin and it also was a ton fun watching your video. keep up with the good work
Highlander is a Ronin's best friend in Frontier Defense if at max level. Depending on difficulty, Ronin will always steal the show if your Sword Core is up n' ready.
Finally, someone who know how much of a pain good Ion can be. They are either monke or some mastermind tacticians that can ruin most titans' day with how versatile they are.
Got one here: when you flank a group of titans careful with the arc wave. Hitting multiple titans sounds good on paper but you don't wanna wake the whole herd
Another playstyle I would utilize besides flank hit and run is to be a "tank"/"disruptor" role where I bumrush with sword block if I know my team is pushing with me. Phase dash and drop electric smoke on enemy titans and let my team do all the dmg while I just hold up sword block (even better with sword core) while enemy team whales on me. If they ever try and focus on my team I just shotgun or melee them to keep reminding them that I'm there and they have to focus on me and then I just hold sword block. Rinse and repeat. I use counter ready mostly for those scenarios of dropping it on enemy titans and making their life hell by disorienting them while dealing dmg. Also iirc executions still have your abilities finish cooldown while going through the animation so you could use executions to let yourself have those s and then hopefully your phase dash or arc wave come off cooldown.
I would like to note that the extra smoke kit is actually quite useful on Ronin in my opinion. Since I find smoke to be actually quite effective at disorienting enemy titans. To the point I actually feel confident enough to go into an extended fight against a legion. Their accuracy decreases by a lot if you know how to abuse the smoke and comboing that with your speed results in running circles around them ripping apart their health while they are spinning like a madman trying to just keep their crosshair on you for even half a second. Overall, I think electric smoke is so much more than just an anti rodeo tool. Especially on ronin who can with the right timing, use phase dash to counter rodeos. To the point that you take 0 damage but the enemy pilot still pulls out a battery. From there, you slap the pilot with your sword and you literally just used a phase dash to generate a battery for yourself.
A couple more tips from a Ronin main since launch: phase dash will remove any lock-on pings that Tone has on you. Another useful way to use it in combination with arc wave: when surprise attacking an enemy, leading with an arc wave and then phasing can really throw them off, since it slows their turn speed and messes with their vision. Also, you can reload while phase shifting, letting you do so while safe from damage A really good bamboozle you can use is to phase shift from right in front of a titan towards right behind them. If they’re any good, they’ll see what you’re doing and turn around, expecting you to appear there. However, mid phase dash, you can use a regular dash to reverse your direction and end up right where you started, while the enemy titan is now turned around and expecting you to be on their other side Sometimes, if fighting alongside friendly titans, it can also be useful to just eat some damage. Stand right in front of enemy titans and hold your sword block. They’ll be forced to attack you, but you’ll take massively reduced damage, and while that happens your allies can just melt them Finally, arc wave can be a really good way to secure a titan execution. If an enemy is one hit away from being doomed, you can send an arc wave at them from a distance, then dodge towards them right after, following your arc wave and meleeing as you do. If timed right, your arc wave will doom them and your sword swing will connect before they have time to eject, giving a guaranteed execute. It’s filthy, and so fun to pull off
Hey ima bit late but the vid is pretty solid and for shure a good starter guide in general with some added personal experience and conclusion on tactics..The only thing i thought different about was the meleepin it needs onpoint timing aslong your opponent doesnt just mash into you and sometimes 1step back and dash forward does the trick..or just skip your next melee or better stall it like 1sec. Also theres a mechanic that works on every titan called crouch tech, this effects every titan-animation where you put your *main weapon aside* like ions laser or vortex or ronins arcwave and block..nearly every skill..The animations have a windup time so when you press block in ronin you dont block right away the skill is only active when the sword is fully raised..When you initiate crouch and when you are crouched and release it, all these animation where you put the weapon aside happen faster..its different values for every titan and skill often just some millisecs but ronins swordblock profits the most from that..Also the spped up of the animation is better when you release crouch instead of starting to crouch..so if you do it correcty tap crouch and swordblock tightly after it to get maximum effect..roughly 0,25 sec on swordblock if done with a crouch release only 0,17 sec when you press crouch an block together. Ye thats pretty much the opposite of a starter tip but i thought however watches ya vid if starter or not or youself might be interested in that information..cheers ❤
hey dude just wanted to compliment the video format and the editing quality props to your editor mustve taken a long time. Subbed keep up the great work
I love the format of the video! Honestly we need more guides like this on other titans for new players that join the game :) I would gladly watch a video like this about Ion, because back when I wanted to learn how to play her effectively, I had a hard time finding any useful videos about her- even FlyingTeaCup's video instead of guiding the player was just talking about how bad of a titan she is lol.
Counter pick is good as a utility tool in titan matchups. You can start an engagement by phasing through a titan, popping both smokes. The smoke damage will stack and soften the target more. Additionally it creates chaos and makes it harder for the Titan to track you as you use your mobility. Use space right and you can trap enemy Titans in smoke so you can increase the amount of damage you do to them and decrease the damage you receive
The extra smoke is great, phasing through people and putting a smoke on top of them then suddenly being behind them meleeing them, blesses you to be able to win 1v1s
Ronin are by far one of the best pilot killers as well. You can close in distances suuuuper quickly. If I recall correctly phase dashing inside a titan kills you, but kills the enemy titan if you block.
Good stuff, i've been maining Ronin since 2019 and one of the absolute must learn for Ronin is spacing and know when to engage, lots of new Ronin got themself killed easily are because of this so it's nice that you mentioned it
Words cannot express how much I miss this game, so it’s always nice to see people still playing it and making video. I will say however that a scorch who knows what he is doing can be a nightmare for a ronin.
two suggestions i also should say as a ronin main is that you shouldn't focus on the AI if you are first titan to drop, this lets your allies get there titans and if you focus on the pilots it lets your team basically get free titans before the enemy does also i suggest one thing, if you see a titan that you don't want to fight i suggest finding a ally titan and have then follow you to your target this forces the enemy titan to choose to engage you or the other player and i also suggest getting behind them so they have to look at either you or the other titan, sword block if they focus you but if not go crazy since ronin does WAY more damage in a short bit then other titans
additionally, building on 17:23, counter ready is basically a non-choice for ronin specifically due to phase shift being a built-in damage dodge when your battery is pulled - it's more useful to just learn the (very forgiving) time window on that front and if anything to save smokes for retreating since it's both cover and free damage on titans attempting to push you while backing off to reset the engagement EDIT: ah, talked about @ 21:35! i'll consider my comment further confirmation of it being real - guess i'll add a tip for it! the biggest indicator of when to time it is the audio when being rodeo'd, you can hear the pilot clambering / when your battery is being pulled - and this applies to low profile as well. it's better to rely on this rather than the rodeo warning itself; one you hear it you'll always notice it and eventually it'll become reflex
Counter ready is one of the best options for ronin, it allows you to quicky close line of sight with most targets and block lanes for a short while. You can alsoact like you are backing away and use the smoke, then use your core and rush out of it. It's a guaranteed kill most of the time. I also use it before engaging, phase dash through a target and force them into the smoke i deployed earlier, they get confused most of the time and it's free damage.
@@celestialcolosseum aye fair! really it just comes down to playstyle for the most part and how one generally goes about their ronin game i tend to run dash core and use sword core for it's movement rather than it's damage so i tend to end up with more smokes than i could ever need after a few engagements cr is definitely better in the short-term but long-term there's more mileage out of dash/overcore, and with ronin's strengths and weaknesses you want to squeeze every drop of life you can out of him before having to eject
i like to use counter ready specifically to do damage to titans. i can phase through multiple enemies and drop smokes to confuse and do damage. it can also isolate you and a single enemy from his team so you can focus them while their team scrambles from the smokes
i used to run extra dash but now i personally run the extra smoke. not because im getting rodeo’d a lot, but because it pairs very well with the phase dash. not to mention the extra dash also increases the time it takes to recharge the individual dashes. i like to dump my shotgun into an unsuspecting titan, arc wave them while theyre turning around, phase through them while using smoke and reloading at the same time. now youre behind them again and can dump another 4 rounds into em lol.
As a ronin main i love to run double e-smoke and the fasedash kit, since turboengine actually reloads your dashes slower you can use fasedash more often (as a regular dash or a getaway tool) and you get to use your e-smoke agresively for insane damage
another tip for dealing with scorch, the smart ones who use the cannon when they can can be bested simply by blocking when you see the projectile, also, if using thunderstorm engage with arc to slow enemy turn, phase through, then load em with lead, arc again, phase to reload and load em up again, vary this how you like but it's simple and effective
As I Ronin main myself, yes, he needs more love. Also, I actually use nuclear eject + highlander still to this day, the goofy number of kills you can rack by juking other titans constantly is silly, I tend to use my core more to finish and reposition though. And I know he's going to die at some point, might as well take an enemy with me by purposefully dashing at them as I rip the eject
Honestly you should do this for the other titans too(do Ion next please because I’m an Ion main and I believe in Ion supremacy) keep up the good work man
Ultra advanced tip: you can use your electric smoke while in phase dash. This means you can dash thru a titan, smoke them, turn around and shoot them. This makes it hard for them to locate you an lets you quite a few shots off on them.
one thing about extra ronin dash is it reduces the amount you actually travel with one dash. its weird but its there. if you are trying to min/max when you are the first titan on the field don't use your battery off rip, regardless of how careful you are you will take damage. once the first titan appears you should have charged your core a bit and taken some damage. get out in a safe spt pop your battery and send it.
honestly the extra smoke is extremely useful for ronin as you can deploy it in phase dash it will not only give extra damage but also give the option to corner the titan in you smoke
with regards to ronin kit, you want phase dash cooldown reduced not an extra dash. more phase dash = more better. then use smokes + counter ready do phase dash behind in team fight, dump a smoke so they walk back into it and then hit them with arc wave
16:04 it is amazing to pop a maelstrom electric smoke, the rare smart Ronin main backs off, then charges back in, having forgot *that Monarch mains tend to keep multiple of those just for this moment.* (remember, you start with an ES at spawn and get another with each core. Monarch is the titan that *focuses* on getting cores.) The average Ronin main seems to think he can tank it. You can't. Sticking around for two maelstroms, getting hit with two rocket barrages while getting chewed up by my XO-16 arc rounds... even shield blocking on sword core won't save you. Run. RUN AWAY.
I came back to this video to relearn Ronin since I've been trying to get all my titans to at least gen 10. But I want to mention after all this time I just realized that the "Highlander" kit is a reference to the show Highlander
1. You can time a phase dash so that as soon as you throw an arc wave, you’re phased. This can allow for basically free damage. I like to call this “phase-waving”. 2. Try to use phase-boosting on downward slopes for increased distance traveled. 3. -Sword block actually blocks 75% of damage normally and 90% during sword core.- Nevermind, I wasn’t aware it was nerfed. Probably because the reduction is insignificant 4. The arc wave slow _IS_ applied on shielded enemies, I know this because of how often I’ve gotten hit by it. I dunno what he means by that.
@@ovalbasherthreehundredsixt4069 not something you can really test, but if that's the case one thing I'm sure of is that they weren't both nerfed the same patch, because I looked for the patch that nerfed block with core and only that was nerfed there
@@ender_z4nd3r83 yes it is, get a friend and go into private match in LTS. Do something to get a baseline damage then compare it to the damage seen when core blocking. LTS shows damage on the scoreboard
A few tips from a ronin main here. Phase dash behind a titan or group of titans and put down your electric smoke, this is a great way to get out of dodge or cause chaos. Dashing diagonally around a titan with sword core is great to reduce damage, do not facetank, you are weak. Phase shift can negate rodeo damage if you time it right, dash backwards just after you hear the beeping sound at the end of the battery pull, bonus points if you will the pilot for free batts. Focus on getting away from the front of the enemy, speed is part of this but it doesn't matter how fast you are if you get a smart core to the face. Edit: wrote this before i watched the whole video, he says most of this at the end in a much clearer manner!
20:50 i would also like to add that you can use grapple (just target it behind titanfall marker) and then it skips titan landing animation and embarks you instantly
Tip as a ronin player, dont be afraid to use the sword core just for the boost. If you really need to get somewhere (like the eacape ship or flag) just use it
when Ronin is in a doom state, its best to use him as a final trump card, finding groups of titans, using the 2x arc wave to slow as many of them down, take away their mobility to get away, phase dash into the middle of the group, and nuclear detonate for epic kills.
Me personally, I use thunderstorm with over core. It’s a good way to get your core in it very short span of time and it’s also some what good against multiple titans.
13:31 it is really damn cool to have a sword fight. Wish there was stuff like parrying or something. Imagine sword/melee fighting mechanics like in For Honor
maybe common knowledge but whenever I end up fighting a Scorch as a Ronin I like to save my e-smoke as a backup in-case I do end up getting stuck in an Incendiary Trap or smth, the smoke puts out any thermite around you and gives some you space to maneuvre without having to worry about getting grilled. It isn’t Ronin-specific obvs but I use it with him a lot bc of how small his healthbar is, it keeps me alive a lot ^-^
I remember as a ronin you can steal a battery when u do an execution this would make me un killable until an overwhelming force or an equal can stop me
Ronin main here! I actually would occasionally encourage counter ready not for anti pilot uses but for hit and run strategies with titans with eletro-phasing! In very crowded maps on LTS, it will break up grouped up teams and draw aggro WHICH IS WHAT YOU WANT as long as you hopefully have a decent team
Highlander is only bad for novice Ronins. Jumping into a group isn't going to work if you're inexperienced but if you are experienced then you can jump into that 3v1 and with proper maneuvering and sword block usage you'll come out of it with HP to spare and ready to to move on to the next group. As a g100 Ronin Overcore and Highlander have become my mains since playing "how many titans can I bring down with a single core" never gets old.
Reason turbo charge wasnt recommended in old guides is due to a bug where turbo charge recharges slower when used on a styder class titans, i didnt even know they fixed it lol
@ovalbasherthreehundredsixt4069 can't remember fully but I remember the patch notes saying fix turbo charge increasing dash cd on ronine and north. Shrug it was change/fixed regardless
@GameHunterDeathhunter ronin dashes around too often for turbo engine to be of any use anyway. The third days only matters when it's fully charged, so if you never get to it, it doesn't come into play. Most ronins dash around too often to even get to their second dash, let alone a 3rd.
Like the other guy said dash crouch sliding with ronin combined with phasing behind enemy titans they lose track of you so fast with how much speed you gain def important
So something I've noticed. Whenever I use the spawn as titan mechanic I'll typically spawn closer to the enemy than other titan classes. So I'd say never use that button. Though that could just be because I have bad luck.
No one ever mentions that you can reload during phase dash, it’s really useful
You can?
@@Z_TC_BY yessir!
@@Z_TC_BYit's one of the most useful aspect of phase dash imo, giving you the ability to reload without taking damage.

Other tips:
Just be annoying as possible in general.
12:31 this clip of you smacking the pilot tought me more than the entire remainder of the video.
Thanks for the tips. I really enjoyed the video and all you have to say about getting good at Roning. The TF2 humour is also on point, keep it up!
At first I was like "ive already fugured out all of these tips I dont need to watch this.
And then you talked about strategies, and titan matchups, and the mental game. Amazing guide!
Ronin is kinda like the TF2 Spy in that basically everyone forgets he has a gun.
(Note 1: only do this if your in the danger zone as, at that point, you can't do much against them.)
(Note 2: Make sure that you sacrificing your titan gives more value than having it alive.)
(Note 3: Help your fellow titans by any means necessary.)
And don’t play turbo engine. It gives you an extra dash but slows down your dash cooldown.
@@hakan7324thought that was a bug that was fixed years ago?
I dunno what you’re on about, I play hyper offensive ronin. I usually take on 1v3s
Sometimes, something as simple as dropping an electric cloud in a group can be enough to turn the tides.
@@henreh.It was fixed years ago indeed, that bug only existed for like 4 months
I sometimes run counter ready because for some funny reason you can phase through a titan or two and while phased you can drop your electric smokes and they go into the real world. Pair this trick with a friendly scorch and the enemy titans health will be gone in seconds
That was amazing man! You should do this for every titan!
As a part time ronin main, sword block is op, it blocks 70% of ALL damage, no matter where its coming from, a ronin can survive a full laser core and only be left at half health, so use your fucking sword block whenever you're taking too much damage.
Is not op, is perfectly balanced by slowing you down, not letting you attack and still make you recieve some damage, those cons balance the pros
you can drop smoke whilst phase dashing which makes it sm more useful to have an extra one.
also the extra dash means it takes longer to get back all of your dashes which means you cant sustain speed as well and have more burst speed than anything.
nope, turbo's dash cooldown increase was removed years ago
A note to mention which I'm not quite sure if it was covered:
Always block when phased.
Especially when close to enemy titans lest you wish to be instantly destroyed in a reverse Phase Shift implode.
He did say so
dude this video is amazing!!! i've been playing ronin for a while now cuz i got bored of scorch and northstar, but i was getting my ass handed to me for a while with ronin, and this video helped me a ton to play ronin and it also was a ton fun watching your video. keep up with the good work
Highlander is a Ronin's best friend in Frontier Defense if at max level.
Also, you can reload while phase shifting, letting you do so while safe from damage
A really good bamboozle you can use is to phase shift from right in front of a titan towards right behind them. If they’re any good, they’ll see what you’re doing and turn around, expecting you to appear there. However, mid phase dash, you can use a regular dash to reverse your direction and end up right where you started, while the enemy titan is now turned around and expecting you to be on their other side
Sometimes, if fighting alongside friendly titans, it can also be useful to just eat some damage. Stand right in front of enemy titans and hold your sword block. They’ll be forced to attack you, but you’ll take massively reduced damage, and while that happens your allies can just melt them
Finally, arc wave can be a really good way to secure a titan execution.
Hey I loved this video, cannot believe you only have 600 subs.
This was a great vid! Looking forward to the Ion one!
Overcore highlander for frontier defense and extra dash double arc wave for other gamemodes.
That’s what I do anyway.
hey dude just wanted to compliment the video format and the editing quality props to your editor mustve taken a long time. Subbed keep up the great work
Best ronin guide yet, thanks so much. I have notes everything you’ve said and I am amazed with how much detail you put into this 😊
not sure if i would be taking notes from this guy
I love the format of the video! Honestly we need more guides like this on other titans for new players that join the game :)
I would gladly watch a video like this about Ion, because back when I wanted to learn how to play her effectively, I had a hard time finding any useful videos about her- even FlyingTeaCup's video instead of guiding the player was just talking about how bad of a titan she is lol.
Its also worth mentioning that sword block blocks from all directions, even behind you.
S.E.R.E stands for survive, evade, resist, escape
From 500 subs to 5000 now! Way to go man 🎉🔥
two suggestions i also should say as a ronin main is that you shouldn't focus on the AI if you are first titan to drop, this lets your allies get there titans and if you focus on the pilots it lets your team basically get free titans before the enemy does
also i suggest one thing, if you see a titan that you don't want to fight i suggest finding a ally titan and have then follow you to your target this forces the enemy titan to choose to engage you or the other player and i also suggest getting behind them so they have to look at either you or the other titan, sword block if they focus you but if not go crazy since ronin does WAY more damage in a short bit then other titans
additionally, building on 17:23, counter ready is basically a non-choice for ronin specifically due to phase shift being a built-in damage dodge when your battery is pulled - it's more useful to just learn the (very forgiving) time window on that front and if anything to save smokes for retreating since it's both cover and free damage on titans attempting to push you while backing off to reset the engagement
EDIT: ah, talked about @ 21:35! i'll consider my comment further confirmation of it being real - guess i'll add a tip for it!
the biggest indicator of when to time it is the audio
when being rodeo'd, you can hear the pilot clambering / when your battery is being pulled - and this applies to low profile as well. it's better to rely on this rather than the rodeo warning itself; one you hear it you'll always notice it and eventually it'll become reflex
@@celestialcolosseum aye fair! really it just comes down to playstyle for the most part and how one generally goes about their ronin game
i tend to run dash core and use sword core for it's movement rather than it's damage so i tend to end up with more smokes than i could ever need after a few engagements
cr is definitely better in the short-term but long-term there's more mileage out of dash/overcore, and with ronin's strengths and weaknesses you want to squeeze every drop of life you can out of him before having to eject
i like to use counter ready specifically to do damage to titans. i can phase through multiple enemies and drop smokes to confuse and do damage. it can also isolate you and a single enemy from his team so you can focus them while their team scrambles from the smokes
You are wrong, ronin is actually the only titan counter ready makes sense having, not even monarch with maelstrom should choose counter ready
This is so good! I thought you had way more subscribers just watching the video. Awesome content!
i used to run extra dash but now i personally run the extra smoke. not because im getting rodeo’d a lot, but because it pairs very well with the phase dash. not to mention the extra dash also increases the time it takes to recharge the individual dashes.
i like to dump my shotgun into an unsuspecting titan, arc wave them while theyre turning around, phase through them while using smoke and reloading at the same time. now youre behind them again and can dump another 4 rounds into em lol.
As a ronin main i love to run double e-smoke and the fasedash kit, since turboengine actually reloads your dashes slower you can use fasedash more often (as a regular dash or a getaway tool) and you get to use your e-smoke agresively for insane damage
this video helped me become a beast with ronin. thanks. triple dash and double arc wave is merciless
15:18 Depends. If they gave full upgrades... run away. Js run.
i have never played this titan and i dont intend to. but im here anyway
Love the guide, it's helpful and it has humor.
Love the nod to FUNKe.
another tip for dealing with scorch, the smart ones who use the cannon when they can can be bested simply by blocking when you see the projectile, also, if using thunderstorm engage with arc to slow enemy turn, phase through, then load em with lead, arc again, phase to reload and load em up again, vary this how you like but it's simple and effective
17:54 aye. I love my turbo engine. I use it on monarch too. It gives me that sweet sweet 4 dashes when used with the rearm/reload.
thanks i kept dieing as ronin while being half decent at every other titan and didnt know what i was doing wrong this realy helped
one thing about extra ronin dash is it reduces the amount you actually travel with one dash. its weird but its there. if you are trying to min/max when you are the first titan on the field don't use your battery off rip, regardless of how careful you are you will take damage. once the first titan appears you should have charged your core a bit and taken some damage. get out in a safe spt pop your battery and send it.
Man that was a great video. As a monarch main i can say i did feel a bit proud at the monarch part.
I’m glad that titanfall 2 is making a huge comeback to bad they don’t have an esports for it and my favorite titan is scorch
0:25 I'm never fighting him on master again
honestly the extra smoke is extremely useful for ronin as you can deploy it in phase dash it will not only give extra damage but also give the option to corner the titan in you smoke
These videos are very fun, I do enjoy a good Titanfall video indeed!
with regards to ronin kit, you want phase dash cooldown reduced not an extra dash. more phase dash = more better. then use smokes + counter ready do phase dash behind in team fight, dump a smoke so they walk back into it and then hit them with arc wave
def gonna start doin this
Those aren't even in the same section. Dash is a titan kit option, reduced phase is a ronin kit option.
@@mizal7893they serve a similar purpose though
@@GK-bt6fr he spoke as of they were in the same section which they arent
Im well aware of how to play Monarch but I really need to see your format with the queen her self your videos are extremely engaging to watch.
this is like a launch day video

16:04 it is amazing to pop a maelstrom electric smoke, the rare smart Ronin main backs off, then charges back in, having forgot *that Monarch mains tend to keep multiple of those just for this moment.* (remember, you start with an ES at spawn and get another with each core. Monarch is the titan that *focuses* on getting cores.)
The average Ronin main seems to think he can tank it.
Probably because the reduction is insignificant
4. The arc wave slow _IS_ applied on shielded enemies, I know this because of how often I’ve gotten hit by it. I dunno what he means by that.
Incorrect, its 70 and 85% nerfed that a long time ago
@@ovalbasherthreehundredsixt4069I'm sure they only nerfed block without core not with it
@@ender_z4nd3r83 nope, go test it yourself. Core got nerfed too
@@ovalbasherthreehundredsixt4069 not something you can really test, but if that's the case one thing I'm sure of is that they weren't both nerfed the same patch, because I looked for the patch that nerfed block with core and only that was nerfed there

@@VeyTheOwl 😂
I need more videos like these for all other titans
As a ronin main, and I can see you used it in the video here, battery back up is an absolute must basically all the time. Free batteries? Fat W
20:50
i would also like to add that you can use grapple (just target it behind titanfall marker) and then it skips titan landing animation and embarks you instantly
Tip as a ronin player, dont be afraid to use the sword core just for the boost. If you really need to get somewhere (like the eacape ship or flag) just use it
i cant beleive that you didnt use the 'SPEED IS KEEEYYY' quote from jacksepticeye at the beginning *tut tut tut*
This is really good, hope the algorithm shows you some love 👍
when Ronin is in a doom state, its best to use him as a final trump card, finding groups of titans, using the 2x arc wave to slow as many of them down, take away their mobility to get away, phase dash into the middle of the group, and nuclear detonate for epic kills.
nuke is great if you're still in the learning curve because if you get doomed you can still help
Me personally, I use thunderstorm with over core. It’s a good way to get your core in it very short span of time and it’s also some what good against multiple titans.
I use extra smoke to help damage titans when I dash in, adds to the chaos.
I’m currently running Counter Ready and Temporal Anomaly, but I think I’ll consider Turbo Engine and Thunderstorm
Definitely subscribing now since you read comments from older videos, keep up the good work
13:31 it is really damn cool to have a sword fight.
It isn’t Ronin-specific obvs but I use it with him a lot bc of how small his healthbar is, it keeps me alive a lot ^-^
if you got your titan first focus on killing plots so that your team can get their titans faster and slow down the enemy from getting theirs
As a legion. Two powershots and a melee equals a termination. Especially if the legion is a dreadnought.
Reason turbo charge wasnt recommended in old guides is due to a bug where turbo charge recharges slower when used on a styder class titans, i didnt even know they fixed it lol
it wasnt a bug
@ovalbasherthreehundredsixt4069 can't remember fully but I remember the patch notes saying fix turbo charge increasing dash cd on ronine and north. Shrug it was change/fixed regardless
@GameHunterDeathhunter ronin dashes around too often for turbo engine to be of any use anyway. The third days only matters when it's fully charged, so if you never get to it, it doesn't come into play. Most ronins dash around too often to even get to their second dash, let alone a 3rd.
@@mizal7893 i know reason i don't use it he already has a 3rd dash with phase dash so why need a 4th lol
@@GameHunterDeathhunter yeah, but a phase should absolutely not be used in the same way as a dash. Apples and oranges im terms of their uses.
Even the AI knows to steer clear.
Then there's my auto titan that charges into the nearest nuke if I leave it alone for even 5 seconds XD
Like the other guy said dash crouch sliding with ronin combined with phasing behind enemy titans they lose track of you so fast with how much speed you gain def important
After this video I actually managed to use ronin effectively, so thanks for the amazing and entertaining guide for how to be weebing in tf2
So something I've noticed. Whenever I use the spawn as titan mechanic I'll typically spawn closer to the enemy than other titan classes. So I'd say never use that button. Though that could just be because I have bad luck.
Finally. A video that might make some of the Ronin mains I shred by the dozens an actual threat.
