That was a very quick turn around from "the changes range from good to whatever, why is everyone complaining?" to "These changes are terrible and would wreck the game."

The Caber change is actually a deep diss to valve: as the demo dies and respawns, the engi will have built a new sentry, the demo will forever be on a treadmill of destroying, dying, respawn and doing it all over again

Headshots mini-crit instead of critting. *Cozy Camper:* +100% primary ammo (brings it back to 25). -10% speed. -10% charge rate. It's probably still bullsh!t anyway, but in a "okay, you get to bypass the normal nerfs I placed on snipers, but you'll get entirely different nerfs" kind of way.

the booties are OP so im cutting off demo's legs *but* it makes you die on respawn so the character doesn't have to suffer the psychological effects of bleed during the match
@lambsauce5312 The proc is the random critical bleed damage on all the weapons he added bleed to but not "no random Crits" to (which I'm pretty sure is all of them).
Man if only Pyro had a weapon that rapidly fired a large cone of projectiles which inflict afterburn. Good thing this reworked Scorch Shot is here to save the day.
Most egregious thing about "L'Executioner" is (as someone in the comments pointed out) not even "executing" anything You're relying on DoT to kill them, that doesn't make you an executioner, IT MAKES YOU A FUCKING SADIST.
You know what changes like the Eureka Effect reminded me of? Reading through the framedata and strategies regarding characters from JoJo: Heritage For The Future. You'd go through an entire list of utterly sick-nasty stuff that'd be absolutely broken in any other fighting game, only to get hit by "yeah also over half the cast is immune against his gameplan for most of the match lmao, he's bottom tier and if you throw someone, you get killed for hitting a move". The whiplash is palpable.
@@Spacebugg Hol Horse is pretty much exactly what I described here. His whole gameplan centers around knocking the opponent down and hitting them with nasty setups, often involving his glass shots (he can shoot the ceiling to make glass fall down). You have to block them standing, and since he can move as they fall, he can simultaneously hit you with a move you'd have to block crouching. So you're getting hit either way, it's unblockable. Same applies to his unblockable Slow Bullet super, if he shoots that thing out while you're on the ground and places it on top of you, you're eating the hit as soon as you get up. Nothing you can do about it, because you can't do anything but block for the first frame after you wake up from a knockdown in this game. Slow Bullet is an absurd move in general, it's what gives Hol a fighting chance. All in all, if Hol gets a good start, he can often just end the round from there by looping these things, and he also boasts suprisingly high chip damage. The problem is that a large chunk of the cast can just... turn both of these win conditions off. "Active Stand" characters can summon their stand to fight with them, and while it's out, they don't take chip and can't be knocked down. Same applies to Weapon Stand characters if I recall correctly. Meaning Hol, lacking great ways to open people up, has to resort to running away, zoning and trying to sneak hits in. But while his kit _is_ geared towards that, the low damage he gets off of hitting you if he can't do his loops makes this a very tough situation for him. The fact that Active Stand characters tend to be higher on the tier list doesn't help either. And yeah, his throw just... let's the opponent recover way earlier than you. They can punish you for landing it. I don't know why they made it that way.

If he was going for the Machina tracer rounds angle with the Sniper Rifles, then why not invert the Heatmaker? Have it fire off tracer rounds normally, then fire off "stealth" rounds when in Focus mode. Would it be very annoying still? Yeah, but at least you know the Sniper player _earned_ the right to be annoying for 10 seconds, instead of earning the right to show the entire enemy team where their hiding spot is.

Honestly, this is sounds like the most crazy shit ever You hop into a game and there's ninja snipers in cheeky spots everywhere, pyros are in a chokepoint creating a surprise touhou game. Heavy is speedhacking around the map, engineer is depressed his sentry gun is useless, spy is crying in a dark corner somewhere next to engineer. Half your team is caberknights constantly killbinding (They found a faster way to die than charging with their caber). And one free to play pyro on the team is happy he can finally bleed people with his fire axe.

I think if you really wanted the Hitman's heatmaker to be the "stealth sniper" that gets to not have tracers, it should have the classic's downside of needing a full charge in order to headshot. That way you get the old upside of the enemy team not being able to see you, but you can't just quickscope light classes at the drop of a hat
I think another way would be to instead replace the focus with no bullet tracers. But then again that probably just works better as it's own concept rather then reworking the Hitmans Heatmaker. It allows you to camp for a bit, yeah, but you have only a limited amount of time/bullets before you're revealed again and have to switch spots.

The biggest issue with the eureka effect change: The taunt teleports you to the teleporter exit. The teleporter exit. Which is two-way. Oh yeah this is exactly where you wanted to be
I guess it ought to make the engineer immune to teleportation for a bit after every taunt teleport. Perhaps also allow taunt teleporting to the teleporter _entrance_ directly, as well.
No you see your not accounting for the psychological damage your inflicting. I mean have you ever been shot before? It's very traumatic, and with each shot your imparting more and more trauma onto the player till they get PTSD. It's really a buff depending on your point of view

@@peterpanther23 The Pomsons main problem is the fact the projectile is completely broken nearby teammates at ANY distance it will be deleted. No other projectile acts this way. It used to penetrate teammates and buildings before Valve somehow messed it all up. Rn it forces you as the Engineer to stay away from your teammates which is very very bad. The projectile being slow was never the problem.

I think we ought to be a bit fair to his change to the sharpened volcano fragment: he was saying that having it inflict burn was pointless, but a seperate DOT means you could combo bleed with the burn of your flamethrower so that both were in effect at the same time: it's not as dumb as it sounds, but it sounds so dumb that they didn't listen to him explain it. Bleed+burning would actually be a scary combo to be able to inflict.
They released a sequel called buffing the spy, and it gets rid of a few of the more ridiculous spy changes (nerfing enforcer into the ground, ruining diamondback), and they addressed a few problems with this video (it should’ve been called “experimenting with tf2’s weapons, etc)

Only medics can't kill you in one shot without a crit. Technically heavies, too...But that minigun will still shred you before you can get away if you're even mid-range.

You know what changes like the Eureka Effect reminded me of? Reading through the framedata and strategies regarding characters from JoJo: Heritage For The Future.
You'd go through an entire list of utterly sick-nasty stuff that'd be absolutely broken in any other fighting game, only to get hit by "yeah also over half the cast is immune against his gameplan for most of the match lmao, he's bottom tier and if you throw someone, you get killed for hitting a move". The whiplash is palpable.
I never played that game so I need an example.
@@Spacebugg Hol Horse is pretty much exactly what I described here.
His whole gameplan centers around knocking the opponent down and hitting them with nasty setups, often involving his glass shots (he can shoot the ceiling to make glass fall down). You have to block them standing, and since he can move as they fall, he can simultaneously hit you with a move you'd have to block crouching. So you're getting hit either way, it's unblockable. Same applies to his unblockable Slow Bullet super, if he shoots that thing out while you're on the ground and places it on top of you, you're eating the hit as soon as you get up. Nothing you can do about it, because you can't do anything but block for the first frame after you wake up from a knockdown in this game. Slow Bullet is an absurd move in general, it's what gives Hol a fighting chance.
All in all, if Hol gets a good start, he can often just end the round from there by looping these things, and he also boasts suprisingly high chip damage.
The problem is that a large chunk of the cast can just... turn both of these win conditions off. "Active Stand" characters can summon their stand to fight with them, and while it's out, they don't take chip and can't be knocked down. Same applies to Weapon Stand characters if I recall correctly. Meaning Hol, lacking great ways to open people up, has to resort to running away, zoning and trying to sneak hits in. But while his kit _is_ geared towards that, the low damage he gets off of hitting you if he can't do his loops makes this a very tough situation for him. The fact that Active Stand characters tend to be higher on the tier list doesn't help either.
And yeah, his throw just... let's the opponent recover way earlier than you. They can punish you for landing it. I don't know why they made it that way.
This is the last place I expected to see HFTF being mentioned on but this is a pretty good comparison actually.

This feels like somebody that played TF2 a decade ago, heard about all the new updates from their friends, wrote the video, THEN played the game, and slowly during editing realized how wrong they were, but refused to change it.
If he was going for the Machina tracer rounds angle with the Sniper Rifles, then why not invert the Heatmaker? Have it fire off tracer rounds normally, then fire off "stealth" rounds when in Focus mode.
Would it be very annoying still? Yeah, but at least you know the Sniper player _earned_ the right to be annoying for 10 seconds, instead of earning the right to show the entire enemy team where their hiding spot is.

The biggest issue with the eureka effect change:
The taunt teleports you to the teleporter exit.
The teleporter exit. Which is two-way.

Plus two ways can let people straight up nope out of fights in some situations and get full hp and ammo
I guess it ought to make the engineer immune to teleportation for a bit after every taunt teleport.
Perhaps also allow taunt teleporting to the teleporter _entrance_ directly, as well.
The funny thing is you can literally see how non functional it would be because there's a 2 way tele upgrade in MvM.

That's basically the same thing.
No you see your not accounting for the psychological damage your inflicting. I mean have you ever been shot before? It's very traumatic, and with each shot your imparting more and more trauma onto the player till they get PTSD. It's really a buff depending on your point of view

@@peterpanther23 The Pomsons main problem is the fact the projectile is completely broken nearby teammates at ANY distance it will be deleted. No other projectile acts this way. It used to penetrate teammates and buildings before Valve somehow messed it all up. Rn it forces you as the Engineer to stay away from your teammates which is very very bad. The projectile being slow was never the problem.

@@hexorth3580 in the past, not anymore. It used to be able to hit the same enemy multiple times, but that was changed to no longer be the case ages ago.
I think we ought to be a bit fair to his change to the sharpened volcano fragment: he was saying that having it inflict burn was pointless, but a seperate DOT means you could combo bleed with the burn of your flamethrower so that both were in effect at the same time: it's not as dumb as it sounds, but it sounds so dumb that they didn't listen to him explain it. Bleed+burning would actually be a scary combo to be able to inflict.
Fair enough, but the problem is that if you’re pulling off a melee combo with pyro, why not just use the axetinguisher
They released a sequel called buffing the spy, and it gets rid of a few of the more ridiculous spy changes (nerfing enforcer into the ground, ruining diamondback), and they addressed a few problems with this video (it should’ve been called “experimenting with tf2’s weapons, etc)

I think what might have ticked people off is his smarmy attitude and the animated spy stamping "BUFFED" or "NERFED", often contradicting when a weapon actually was made better or worse.

I love how for a bunch of items, he doesnt buff or nerf them, but completly rework them. Darwins shield - a defensive item that makes you more tanky. Buff is a movement speed and jump height increase, and health decrease.
Just make a new weapon at that point...
