The only issue I have is that I wish there was a solution that wasn’t based around taking pills or synthetic medicine. I hate it. I want to heal without compromising my immune system and gut microbiome, which a lot of these antibiotics and treatments tend to effect.
There are many natural solutions on all kinds of illnesses, but of course a medical doctor won't inform you on that. They make money off of synthetic medicine and these treatments, after all.
LOVE this video. I have been on spironolactone for a year now and my skin is like butter. I get horrible hormonal acne, but spironolactone is the best.
Can you please tell my why Spironolactone is your favorite? Do you think a short term prescription (3mo.) Would have lasting benefits? What was your experience with the side effects? Did you have to avoid bananas and coconut water? Have more trips to the bathroom or get drowsy? I'm already using Tretinoin and love those benefits, but I get deep acne along my lower jawline and I believe I need something internal to help. My hormones estrogen and progesterone are unbalanced and I know that's causing me problems! Also I keep seeing ads for natural remedies like elixhealing where you take a concoction of herbs to balance your hormones. I've also tried nutrafol and liked the effect on my hair, but after three months my periods aren't regular! Loaded question, but I mainly wanna know why you liked Spironolactone 💛
Effective, well tolerated, my patients do well! It’s best to talk with your doctor to see if it’s the right treatment for you. Also check out AviClear laser for deep acne as an alternative! Every person is different!
@@SkinByDrAzi so good to know! I understand the side effects can be different for everyone. I feel like my provider hasn't been super helpful in my decision if it's right for me, but it may have to be one of those things you just try out. Thank you for your response!
How do you know if your skin is ready for you to get off of an acne medication? I wouldn't be able to tell if my skin is just reacting well to the medication and it needs it or if it's ready for me to stop taking the medication
Based on my research, if you take these serious medications for hormonal acne you need to take them forever. Which is why I don't want to do it and want to find a natural remedy😢
Does anyone know or heard of having a syringe with a steroid in it, that they inject right into the facial cyst?? I had it done when I was younger and wanted to mention it to my dermatologist. Loved this Video, my acne has me house bound and embarrassed. So I can relate with anyone suffering the same issues. ❤
It’s the fluctuations in the hormone levels that caused a disruption in the skin, so it’s not the actual hormone itself, but it’s the fluctuation up and down that some people skin is very sensitive too
Pls help me doctor.i cannot sleep properly.bcz of these cystic acne.im suffering a lot.i took spiranolactone, antibiotic, diane 35,accutane.now again she prescribed diane 35.im tired of these pills.shall i take accutane again?
@@jaleous5621 I took 3 months only and now my skin cleared up nicely! Only had 1 or 2 small acne after stopping the medicine The purging in the first month was worse
Oily sensitive skin and mi face is worst it pains 💔it’s breaking me completely doctor said it’s hormonal acne and he gave some med and face wash n cream but it hurts more idk how to get rid of it
Great video! Is there a recommendation on time between Accutane finishing and starting again due to acne coming back? It's been 12 months the painful zits are coming back with the weird rough bumpy pores, cystic acne on scalp, bumps behind ears, ear zits like you mentioned, greasy hair less than 24 hrs after washing 😂. I've done a majority of these treatments you mentioned. Fortunately my previous derm did not require bc, this new one may. It's hard to find one who accepts abstinence. 🥴👎🏻 Can you do a video on the hormonal testing and pcos part? Do derms actually check hormones?
I’m turning 33 and never have had a bad skin summer like this. It feels so defeating. 😭 I’ve been trying every natural tip I could find, but prob should finally see a doctor. (Not to mention the awful waves of anxiety that these hormonal flare-ups bring)
I’ve been on spiro for almost 3 months the but I keep getting acne. I am also EXTREMELY fatigued ALL the time 😭 I feel like I’ve exhausted all my options. I eat vegan so no dairy, I monitor my sugar intake which I keep below 20 grams most days I already did accutane but the acne came back afterwards. I’m already using tretinoin for scarring. Benzoyl peroxide I’m allergic to. What would be the next logical step for me? 😭😭😭
Check your blood pressure while on spironolactone. It can drop your blood pressure causing fatigue. This can happen if your adrenals are sensitive to it.
I think it’s safe IMO, and there are recent studies that support the safety. With medicine though it’s always a risk benefit. Acne can be very distressing for patients and impact every aspect of life. Dosage varies can be 25-200! Best to have a discussion with your doctor to see if it’s the best treatment for you
Best acne video over 5 years watching Utube acne videos!

We don’t, it’s best to see a hormone specialist if you are having irregular periods or other symptoms. Or an OBGYN

does accutane fix acne that is hormonal though+ imagined that after I stopped taking it, the acne would return with my hormones?
i keep thinking about this. bc most women are on hormonal bc it's difficult to get examples from women who are not

Don’t forget to take iron/ferritin. That’s how I compensate for being vegan and taking spironolacton.
