    Not that it's a major detail, but Penny was sent BACK home to Galar after the team star incident. Technically she went to Paldea to study and got sent back to Galar to do her studies after. Kinda makes you wonder what's so special about this school that people travel from all over to send their kids to school there, cuz it's even theorized that our character is also from Galar.

      Probably the fact that they accurately teach Pokemon Historical events and are not afraid to tell fact from fiction.
      Galar blatantly lied about their history to their people, so that plays a part.
      Another factor I will be addressing in another video. It will be after my Parfum Palace video, so I hope you stick around for it!

    Agree with a lot of this except the role of Unova. The idea that Unova was a Galar colony that got cut off in the aftermath of the war makes sense. Otherwise, I think the war was between the countries that eventually made up Kalos, Galar, and Paldea. The fact that all 3 regions have minerals imbued with extra-dimensional energy seems like more than a coincidence. The weapon may have unleashed/untapped energy across the continent, leading to the discovery of mega/tera/dyna energy. We’ve seen in Alola and Hisui/Sinnoh that unleashing energy can rip a hole in space-time, which may be what opened the door to Eternatus in Galar. A more wild theory: since the theme of the crater in Paldea is “paradox,” the weapon may have caused the crater as well but because it ripped space-time, the consequence reached back as far as 1M years ago (and into the far future).

      I'm not sure why people are forgetting that the weapon was fired again in the course of X and Y, this shows that the destructive power of the weapon. Yet it is only enough to create a decently sized crater in Geosenge town, not destroy the entire north-western section of Kalos, so how would it cause enough damage to make the great crater of Paldea, when the weapon in the story is clearly shown to be fired to the north-east. It seems that Paldea would be linked to Kalos by the south-west, so unless the original story is innacurate, it would have to have been a butterfly effect to cause the great crater, right? It would help if Pokemon actually had a world map

    I know AZ'S brother was probably terrified of him when he finally confronted him after the ultimate weapon fired. Imagine you turn everyone against your sibling, who is king of the territory in a war of greed, more than likely telling the people the king is unfit to lead, and is a traitor for not supporting their cause, then he forcibly steals his brother's last momento of their late mother: The unique Floette in spite, only for it to be returned to him in a box; dead.
    If I were AZ and my sibling did all of that to me because I didn't support their goal of greed, which was already getting people killed the last thing on my mind would be giving my brother who helped cause all of these negative events a crown.

    I always thought this and the Great Pokémon War would be on another level to animate. Imagine a full on rated R war movie between these powerful monsters, showing us some more realistic results of their attacks. Ending in a blast that destroys both sides, creating some POIs we know today. Could also explain the ancient ruins that were still ancient during LoA.

    Pokémon Z-A's weird title holds a lot more significance than I think people are letting on. I am a firmly speculating the game is referencing a conflict between Zygarde and Arceus. Time travel can explain a lot of of the ultimate weapons's creation in such a weird timeline.

    This was a very interesting concept. I think that this has a lot of potential to explain a lot. I do wish there was more evidence to connect Galar to Unova, and Kalos to Paldea. It makes sense to think "Poke-UK owned Poke-Merica" and "Poke-France owned Poke-Spain", But I wish that there was more in universe connections. Also, the way you explained AZ and his brother got a little confusing. I am going to rewatch this right away so I can think on this more. I can't wait to see the part on the 300 year old war

    • @therealdrogane
      @therealdrogane  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The information on Az and his brother is confusing, especially considering the information comes from Lysandre's Lab Library room.
      The short version and hopefully the less confusing one for you is this.
      Galar uses its Unovian terrirtory to invade Paldea, which is Kalos's territory.
      Az's younger Brother was in charge of the Paldea territory in my hypothesis as its Prince. So when Galar invaded by using Unova, the war began to rage.
      Az's brother requested aid from Az, but Az refused to take part in the war and sought to resolve things peacefully with Galar.
      Galar of course refused and continued to attack Paldea. Az's brother grew furious with Az's complacency and sent soldiers to recruit more pokemon from the Kalos forcably, including Az's floette.
      But Az's brother still could not win against Galar, so out of desperation he was going to use his remaining forces to take the throne from Az.
      But when Az's younger brother arrived to Kalos with his legion, Az fired the Ultimate weapon on both Paldea and Unova, destroying thoss ancient nations and ending the war.
      Hope this helps make it easier!
      Thanks for watching and please share my video around!

    The only real problem I'm having with this theory is the Unova being physically closer to Kalos than Galar. We know you can swim between Kalos and Galar, which is almost definitely a nod at the English channel and all the people who take the challenge to swim it. And if Unova is a colony (which makes sense since it is based on the NYC area) it would make more sense to be further away. You don't normally make a colony within 20 miles of your own country. And even if Unova is where Belgium would be in real life, there's huge mountain ranges that would be in the way and likely force a sea assault anyway.
    My theory is that Unova is fairly far away from the conflict, but might still be a colony. Like the real life counterparts, Unova was probably sending supplies to Galar for the war. But when the ultimate weapon went off they lost contact with the homeland and basically did their own thing for 500 years until their own events happened.
    Alternatively they weren't a colony and the story of the two dragons is a combination of later colonial stories and native stories. It's possible that in Unova was colonized much later by Galar (like the US) and Unova's origin story got rewritten and mixed with Native Unovian mythology when Galar colonized the greater Poke-America for lack of a better name.
    We know Game Freak likes to keep the real world separate from the pokemon world, so the locations and events are all different, primarily to keep them from limiting themselves to telling an alternate history story, but they obviously take a lot of inspiration from irl cultures and locations. It all just depends where they draw that line.

  • @bronzeflexer1864
    @bronzeflexer1864 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I love the theory the only gap I could think is that since our regions are assumed to be based off the real world. I would find it hard to believe that if Unova based off United States would be in a war across the sea with games based in France/Spain. As well I would think we would see paintings of the war traversing water in Kalos but all the paintings depict land making me imagine this would not be a war they are fighting from the water. We could probably have a fair shot of saying that it’s based off the real world geography with the mention of Galar being a swim away from Kalos basically referencing the English Channel.

      @bronzeflexer1864 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Splitting up so not a gigantic paragraph. Although I guess it already is. The line of the ultimate weapon destroying both sides makes more sense in the context of both sides ally and enemy referring to him taking out his own nation as well as the enemy. I think it would’ve made more sense for them to say the enemies or enemy sides if they were talking about just destroying those opposing Kalos.

    A good theory framework! I was surprised you didn’t talk more about the weapon, especially in the context of SV and Tera crystals. It seems to me the weapon, which was crystal, was probably made of Tera crystal extracted from the crater. Which lends credence to a close relationship between the ancient versions of Kalos and Paldea.
    Unova would not be closer to Kalos than Galar. It’s on a separate continent over the ocean, far far away. Short of Hoopa shenanigans or the Atlantic Ocean being a postwar creation, that whole side of the theory is very shaky. It seems like you are thinking of Germany, which would be much more plausible, but we haven’t seen it yet in Pokémon. The Unova region is based on New York, even if a lot of it does seem to have too many ancient medieval happenings, the castle etc, which makes me think maybe it started as Germany and got retconned into New York halfway through development. However, consider this:
    Gamefreak usually riffs off a real historical event in broad strokes. What happened roughly 3000 years ago irl? The Bronze Age collapse. One major factor of which besides climate shifts was uprisings by oppressed peoples and invasions by raiders, especially sea peoples, which does complement your theory of Galar invading over the sea. Just wouldn’t be likely to be Unova. So in the poke-dramatized version of the Collapse, it was a fantasy nuke that was the final straw to break society’s back, but other related factors are probably still in play.
    The final pieces of the puzzle will probably be in the regions based on Egypt and Greece. At least one of those is highly likely to be next up, though, if they don’t backburner it to go to China or India first instead. So that’s something to look forward to.

    Great video! I think we see a lot of damage done throughout the Paldea region that could be tied to the war - the watch towers are examples of the destruction that happened. While this could be tied to the ruinous pokemon events, I find it interesting that we do see remnants of what would have been war/conflict in the north-eastern parts of the map. While walking along the sea shore of that north-east area near the mountain ridge that would connect Paldea and Kalos you can find wheels scattered around very similar to those wheels that can be found on WW1 cannons. It may end up being entirely unrelated, specially with the time that has passed between the events (would imagine little would be left from the actual war); but it was interesting to me that those were around that area given the stories and importance of the Kalos war in the lore.

    Spain and France share a border. The top right of Paldea (Iberia) is where they share a border with Kalos (France). The mountain range in southern Kalos connects to the Glaseado Mountain and the mountainous area to it's east. This could be called the ''Kalo-Paldean Mountain Range'' which would be based off of the Alps, except just larger.
    Also here could be some important names for this:
    - Kalosian Empire (Kalos)
    - Galarian Empire (Galar)
    - Galarian Colonies (Unova and Alola)
    - Paldean Empire (Paldea)
    - Kalo-Paldean Mountain Range
    - Galarian Isles
    Also I'm guessing that the Pokemon world is closely related to ours, so Galar would be within boat distance of Kalos, and Unova would be very far away.

    I have a major nitpick with this timeline: I don’t recall most of these events being presented as “precisely X years ago,” but rather as simply “X years ago.”
    It may seem minor, but when people claim such and such a figure lived, say, 2000 years ago, they don’t mean they were born, died, or specifically alive precisely 2000 years before now, but roughly that long ago, approximating for ease of reference-especially about historical events. We sometimes start doing this within decades, and often within a few centuries, of an event, such that we aren’t wrong (though perhaps imprecise) to say the USA’s Revolutionary War was “200 years ago” or “250 years ago.”
    It’s more apt to say that the Darkest Day and the Kalos War were contemporaneous events in history, rather than that we know one was first or the amount of time that may have been between them.

      Uz forces Az with his Soldiers to send his Floette to war.
      983 A.T - Az recieves the body of his dead Floette. He then brings Floette back to life but his hatred for humanity raged within him.
      Meanhile Uz who was losing the war - retreats to the mainland of Kalos with the intent of taking the throne.
      Az launches the Ultimate Weapon, destroying Paldea and Unova. Galar surrenders, Uz is crowned King, Az disappears
      988 A.T - Galar almost destroyed by the darkness day.
      Hisui events take place in during 1707 A.A.T - after ancient times, 300 years before the events of Diamond and Pearl & 2700 ish years after the end of the Kalos War.

    While it does seem like a lot happens in the 3000-2000 years in the past of the pokemon world, the only way we'd know for sure if there is any weight to this theory is if the next legends game covers these wars in some sorta Fire emblem style game.
    Galar, Kalos and Paldea definitely were involved in this, idk if Unova was too; but we do know that there are multiple wars in pokehistory: Kalos definitely had one, whether it was a civil war or a multi region war, Hisui definitely had a bunch with the diamond and pearl clans (hell when we end up back in time, Irida and Adaman are basically in a cold war, trying not to find a reason to kill one another even with their sinnoh arguments), The paldean empire definitely attacked other regions 1000 years after the kalos war as the history class mentions how they plundered other lands a lot, and Kanto likely had one too.... maybe.
    But i got an extra theory. Wiht pokemon legends we know that there is a lot of time travel shenannigans with the player and Ingo being sent across space and time into Hisui, but what if that wasn't the only known character? We know lt Surge is a War veteran in Kanto, yet Kanto doesn't really show signs of having any war besides Surge, civil or international. What if lt Surge is also a time traveler, and likely was a knight in Kalo's war (which side he was on who knows) and he and his Raichu fought in it but ended up ripped outa time and sent to the future. Making him still a veteran but he never specifies what war he was in....
    idk i just like to think that whenever i think of future pokemon legends games...

  • @HyperGirl81
    @HyperGirl81 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So if the different regions were connected it means that the monarchies are too since there are twin princes in Galar it stands to reason that the Twin Heroes are royalty of them too maybe they are charged with ruling the Unova region.
    If AZ used the weapon to attack Unova and the desert resort was the area that was hit then it had to be the region's seat of government and in that area there is the ruins of the Relic Castle.
    The reason I doubt that is because the devastation isn't crater shaped like it is in Paleda which got hit harder than Unova did so the attack couldn't have happened there unless it happens in another area.
    The only place I can think of is the Entree Forest dead center in the Unova region and is crater shaped though the area is overgrown with forest.
    The fact that very strange phenomenon happen both in Area 0 and in the Entree Forest could be the aftereffects of the weapon AZ built which would fit.
    Of course this doesn't take in account the events that happen in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire or Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun so I look forward to any theories about them in the future.
    Thanks for the awesome video!

    I wonder though, the weapon is shown in the cutscene shot in an arc which lands to the north-west of Geosenge town in the clouds.
    based on where the land link between Paldea and Kalos is implied, the epicentre did not happen near Paldea.
    Either it lands on a Galar which is directly linked to kalos by land, or there as more landmass east of Kalos, where the attacking country is.
    I hope that the next region is some kind of central european kinda region which perfectly links up and a full map of the pokemon world can begin to be accurately compiled in places
    If paldea is a Dominion of Kalos during this war, and the weapon is fired to the east of Kalos, would the war be happening in the mountains northeast of Kalos and so the Paldean Legions would need to cross Kalos before getting to the battleground. The ultimate weapon when fired in X and Y by Lysander only causes a crater in Geosenge town and so has not got the destructive radius to damage Paldea or much of Galar. If Kalos has more land to the east of it, then the conflict was definitely an alpine one between Kalos and there, using it as a proxy battleground for a Galar vs Kalos war or a Border war with an as of yet unseen area. Destroying or damaging the mountain passes using the Ultimate weapon would end the war as no-one could cross the mountains to do any fighting, Additionally the resulting tunnel cave-ins and avalanches would cause catastrophic damage that would signal to AZ's brother that the weapon should be buried

    Galar was the most devastated region in the Pokemon War, got the double whammy
    After the ultimate weapon fired from Kalos has caused widespread destruction in Galar, Eternatus, an ET Pokemon (like Deoxys), perhaps drawn by the power of the ultimate weapon from the came down from the sky to cause more death and destruction until Zacian and Zamazenta sealed it away

    • @therealdrogane
      @therealdrogane  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the timeline is tricky because Pokemon actually mirrors our own timeline in the real world.
      So 2012 for us - is 2012 for Kalos. Meaning when they say 3,000 years, I have to go back 3,000 years prior to a year 0 - which actually is year one.
      What this does mean is Pokemon does have a Year One Event that separates the time spread - we just don't what it is yet because they have not told us.

    One thing that confused me, is AT is your pokémon equivalent of BCE right? The years you list go in ascending order as time goes on, so 979 AT, 981 AT, 983 AT, etc, but if AAT continues in ascending order starting from a "year 0" wouldn't AT go 979, 977, 975, 970, etc?

    Ngl i think most of your theory is wrong because I do not think Paldea was owned by Kalos at all, that's not how it went in real life either. Despite invading Portugal multiple times, France never seized the country because they lost all those battles. England sent help to Portugal, and if the games are as accurate as they seem, Paldea is allies with Galar, since Portugal and England hold the longest running alliance between two countries. This is only an issue to follow through because Paldea is both Portugal and Spain, who had opposing relations with England and France
    So in conclusion, you can't quite count on relationships in the Pokemon world working like real life. Kalos was almost certainly at war with Galar, including any other region is speculation

    • @therealdrogane
      @therealdrogane  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      While you have a point, we visited Galar and saw no evidence that the Ultimate Weapon struck there. Secondly I updated this theory to correct some of this videos mistakes - you can find it in my pokemon wars playlist.

    • @therealdrogane
      @therealdrogane  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is not a stupid question at all. So the way this works is - each game gives us Lore and time frames within their story. Then using the lore each game provides we then trace that time frame from when such game released.
