Very great theory!!! However there's one VERY important detail that your all missing. It goes back to what you said about her being behind the professors terastalization for power. Now at the end of the game, the Time machine was deactivated. When it was deactivated the panels in the room turned black due to it being shut off. Now, If the time machine was deactivated, that would mean the end of terastalization crystals, and Geeta most definitely is aware of this! At the end of the game she doesn't act bothered by this at all, and I knew why........ If you go back to the time machine room in the post game you will find that the rooms panels are bright and shiny again.....Geeta turned the machine back on... Geeta is the puppet master.

Well if Larry doesn't like her she's probably a bad egg. I trust Larry because of just how much of his life he's invested into Pokemon battling. He works so hard his boss tells him to take mandatory breaks. I think that the reason he doesn't is because he's trying to figure out her plan and sabotage her, or trying to become champion himself.

It would he hilarious if Larry can’t stand Geeta because he was the original champ unseated by her, only for her to replace her team with a less-advantageous list of Pokémon afterwards to better gauge the strength of others in the region. She doesn’t seem like a real person (more like the AI from post-game), or at the very least a person from an extreme place of privilege. With that in mind, I think it would make sense as well if she was either a descendant or an artificial reproduction of the king that apparently messed up the nation with the 4 ruinous treasure Pokémon revolting. Maybe she wants to harness them but can’t because she’s lacking something right now, which would make sense with how she constantly questions you and tests seemingly everybody in the game she had any relation to. Geeta’s whole personality is like if you took the job of QA testing and gave it a corporeal form.

@@therealdrogane I can understand the AI being relegated to a particular place like AI Turo/Sada in A0, but I feel like if that would’ve been the first instance, a second would be highly likely and definitely more advanced. That said, I doubt she’d be AI considering she seems completely stable regardless of where she is, but I feel like given her personality she may be created based upon readily available (or secretly available and abundant) data to create a “perfect” being in Pokémon from a trainer perspective (since Mewtwo is supposed to be the perfect man-made Pokémon). If that were the case (or even if she was a trainer from the past or future brought into our existence due to the nature of Area Zero), it would make sense as to why she consistently tries to gauge us as the player in addition to her roster of personal Gym Leaders and Elite Four so that she can understand the style of play/battle we have to offer along with the current gen. In doing so, she’d have an accurate read and plenty of data based on the answers from every player in the game (i.e. what gym leader gave you the most difficulty) in order to develop her own gang of trainers that align with you (the champion’s) weaknesses, or to create a seemingly unbeatable league under her own findings, or even just to locate a trainer worthy of taking on the challenge that she knows exists and can’t be taken on by anybody that doesn’t fit a particular set of criteria. Could you imagine having a legendary whose stats or typings were based upon your play-through of the game to include the seemingly arbitrary responses you gave to the single-most important trainer in the current generation’s region?

Completely unrelated, but another thing I found off-putting is how Geeta wasn’t in the least bit concerned about any of the Titan Pokémon in the region. Arven and the trainers in the vicinity of the titans make comments on the tremors caused by Great Tusk/Iron Treads or Bombirdier dropping boulders down that hill near Alfornada. But Geeta never mentions anything about them or makes any effort to tackle them as an issue, despite how bad it’d look if any Naranja/Uva student were gravely injured by a rampaging Titan on their way to a gym, while completing their Treasure Hunt. And she’s supposed to be the chairwoman of the school, to where Clavell is a fellow faculty member who’s much more active in the school by comparison.

I agree with your statement on her lack of concern. You look at past champions like Lance, Steven, Cynthia...they were pretty active when sh*t started hitting the fan. Lance even went as far as nearly dismantling every Team rocket trainer he came across lol. Geeta just looks lifeless at the situations around her and she barely shrugs.
The bullying, the titans, the mystery of scientists going dark in giant pits...doesn't bat an eye.
What about your region doh? What about that weird Pokémon you use that can only be caught in the crater that you sorely misuse on your team?
I think the reason why her gym staff doesn't like her is because they know she's not actually a strong Champion at all. She's possibly a figurehead for something bigger and secretive that they can't speak on.
They are in fact being used to control the masses in their respected fields? With the exception of Grusha I guess because he had to give up snowboarding. Everyone seems to still have some connection to their hobby outside of battling.
Point is Geeta is definitely using her platform to move some unknown pieces around. And some of them are disgruntled about like like you're stating.

Honestly, I believe in the DLC there's gonna be a backstory to her and then maybe she could end up as the ''true evil team leader'' (similar to Rose and Lusamine) and then either the protag or Nemona ends up as Top Champion, or it's completely discarded.
But if there is nothing going on, then she shouldn't be the top champion to beat to become a champion-ranked trainer, but you have to beat the Chairwoman. So you don't beat the top champion, but the chairwoman.

I think the professor realized how they were crazy and how dangerous the time machine was. However before they could shut it down, Geeta barged into the room and told them that they must continue the terastalization research. The professor tried to reason with the Geeta, but this angered Geeta to the point where Geeta had no choice but to use her Pokémon ( the evil koraidon or maraidon clone ) to blow up the professor...... she then programed false memories of what had happened into the professors AI robot.

Honestly, the best (and imo, most fun) route they could take with Geeta is that she isn't evil or secretly plotting some kind of scheme, instead she's just neurodivergent so she doesn't really know how to deal with social cues, making her come off as strange and subtly menacing. And the real reason why she is seeking other powerful trainers and getting them to work for her is because she knows about the secret third legendary who is a massive threat to the region so she's essentially gathering an A-Team of Champion rank trainers that can take it on if/when it rears it's head.
Her being "Top Champion" even after being defeated by both the player and Nemona is because both of them are literal children who have probably never had to deal with the workload, paperwork and politics that a figure such as the Champion of the region would need to deal with so she maintains a seniority position due to that, whereas she can defer to them more physically intensive work that they would be much more adept to dealing with compared to having to sign papers all day (you know, like measuring the worth of the strongest teams that the region's Gym Leaders have on hand, something that takes quite a while to do whereas she can put the time she'd have taken doing that into instead helping set up the tournament or just do more busywork at the League).
Speaking of that, it just so happens to be VERY CONVENIENT to have several competent high-level trainers constantly spread across the region just in case a VERY POWERFUL AND DANGEROUS POKEMON might pop up, it would be a very important first line of defense to protect the local populace in the while it takes for a team of specialized Champion-rank trainers to arrive. Imagine that! It sure is a good thing that Geeta makes sure to keep said line of defense constantly on their toes!
As for Geeta making damn sure that Area Zero is constantly off limits...well, she's absolutely right in that it IS incredibly dangerous. If the theory that she was part of the expedition that went there the most recent is true, she would have had a front row seat to ONE OF HER FELLOW MEMBERS DYING DURING IT! Add to that the fact that we know that Sada/Turo ALSO died there, Arven's Mabosstiff was so severely injured that it took several magic plants to heal him and that Penny almost gets her face ripped off by a Scream Tail/Iron Bundle there....yeah, Area Zero is incredibly dangerous so Geeta making damn sure that nobody goes in at all costs is understandable, doubly so if she is also making sure that nothing gets OUT of there like the Great Tusk/Iron Treads titan did (and given that it is basically confirmed that it was a Great Tusk/Iron Treads that killed the expedition member...that might have made her double down her on decision if she had been more lenient beforehand).
Also it ADDITIONALLY makes sense for Geeta to be looking for Champion ranked trainers if she had been intending on making a second expedition to Area Zero, only instead of a group of researchers with MAYBE her as the only Champion there (who knows if she was Champion at the time, IF she even was part of the expedition that is), it would be a full team of Champions going in to figure out what was up with the place. For all we know, Had Geeta known that the player and their crew was intending on heading there, she might have dropped everything to go as well or set us up with more support, but instead she only learned that we went in after we already came back out.
There's other things I could mention, but I think I'll end this here. I'm not against the theory that Geeta is evil (it would be a very interesting direction to hide the villain of a Pokemon game like this) but I also think that Game Freak could be double dipping here, making Geeta come across as suspicious only to make her a decidedly heroic individual just like they made our first impression of Arven be fairly negative and suspicious only to then prove himself to be the best boi.

Perhaps the reason she's recruiting strong trainers is probably related to the dangers of Area Zero since Heath's book states that a member of his team was attacked and was so badly injured they had to retreat or possibly catching and training Pokémon of that area since she uses a Glimmora.

One thing I'd like to point out about Geeta is that unlike other champions, she doesn't seem like a heavily praised trainer like Cynthia, Steven, Diantha, or the other champs. Even in the last generation, Leon (who is my least favorite champion) was literally praised by everyone and everything in the Galar region. You probably couldn't find one person in galar who doesn't love him or his charizard. They treat him like the king he is, and then theres Geeta, who is also popular but we don't see that many people gossip about her nor do we see any posters or news about her being the most powerful trainer in the region. She just feels like a champion that's just THERE and not like someone who's made a huge impact on the region she's the champion of. And to top it all of, she's not even difficult and her Ace pokemon doesn't even terestrializes into a type that's different from its current typing.

She's designed a lot like Glimmora so I looked at Glimmora, weird Pokemon. It's the 'Ore' Pokemon however it's a flower. It's based on a nightshade which is a poisonous group of plants. She might in turn be poisoning Paldea subtly (not in a literal sense but politically). Also when Glimmora senses danger it will shoot out a beam of light in retaliation. If the South Kalos DLC happens then maybe she will use the Lazer weapon Lysandre had to enact revenge. Or maybe even Paldea's own mega weapon (The third legendary yet to be revealed) in Area Zero?!

    • @PhailRaptor
      @PhailRaptor ปีที่แล้ว +1

The hatred of bosses is rarely without reason, though. Particularly in the current economy and workforce issues, a lot of bosses would rather push their existing staff until they break, rather than attempt to hire on new staff to better distribute workload. Specifically, retail employers rarely train what new hires they actually get -- the name of the game is 'Sink or Swim', which creates a lot of turnover and produces a lot of wasted payroll, results in procedural mistakes that cost the company money, and have a chance of sticking the company with unemployment support. Similar practices are applied to workplace equipment, which is rarely serviced and can often break, up to and including causing serious injury to staff using said equipment, because managers don't want to service or replace failing equipment for fear of the ongoing maintenance costs. They'd rather pretend they won't have to deal with replacing it when it's broken or covering the insurance and sick time for an injured employee, because "that'll never happen to MY business".
Look no further than the issue with railroad workers in the US right now. They get 1 paid sick day per year, and even when they are not scheduled to work they must be on call. Forget taking a vacation with your family, or catching the flu. Heaven help you if you get injured or catch a serious disease. To make matters worse, Congress voted to force the various railroad unions to accept a deal they had voted down. I'm shocked they didn't strike, especially leading into Christmas, the time of the year it would have provided the greatest motivation for the rail companies to act.

I'm not too sure if they'd make Geeta flat-out evil, if only because you have the ability to rematch her constantly in the Academy Tournament post-game. Let's just say that it would be weird for a full-on villain to keep her post as Chairwoman and keep participating in these tournaments among faculty. Unless they somehow remove her from the roster of possible finalists if you've reached a certain point in the DLC, which I think would be a bit of a bummer.
That said... what if she's looking for stronger trainers because she actually wants to head an expedition further down Area Zero? We've got an idea that the two current "layers" we can access aren't all there is to the place, meaning we've yet to see the bottom. Maybe she wants to finish what the old Emperor started, for whatever reason.
Not to mention, if Clavell knew you and your friends headed there, there is a good chance she, as head of the Academy's board and League Chairwoman, would be informed, especially because the possible escape of more Paradox Pokémon would be a matter of security for Paldea. Which is why she would especially be counting on you, the player, to reach the actual bottom of Area Zero.

I think there's some good points here, but I will say the bit about the symbol and the DNA Splicers is a huge stretch since that's just what a normal arrow of a compass looks like. I do agree that there is totally something off with her and I'm anticipating either her or Raifort to try and pull some sort of stunt in the inevitable DLC(s), and I could see it being gathering who she considers strong allies for her cause. One line of dialogue that has stuck with me that she said is "the academy life is almost perfect", implying she feels like she is just a step or two away from having everything how she wants it. Not to mention, in Area Zero when looking at the professors' journals, there is an unnamed "she" in both versions, meaning that it isn't just referring to the AI. I feel like that could certainly be implying something about Geeta, plus the whole Glimmora connection and everything.

As for the DNA splicers point, I'm not too sure. Unless there is proof of Coleress, it just seems a bit too out there. I think your style of gathering points and then seeing how you can connect the dots is awesome, but I think you need more dots to hold everything together. At the very least, Geeta has done something to make her workers dislike her. Is there any other situation in pokemon like this?

I liked Geeta, but I found her bizarre. She DOES have a pokemon from the crater, while it's possible to obtain from a raid, it's highly unlikely. She seemingly banned all access to the crater for EVERYONE, even though the Elite Four, Gym Leaders and she herself could likely easily traverse it. Which means she was fully aware of the AI Sada/Turo and did nothing about it. The compass on her glove and the E4 gloves could reference the Paldea region as a whole. The crater is literally smack dab in the center of the region, much like the center of the compass. Area Zero has SO MUCH built around it to work with going forward too. No way will that be scrapped. Geeta has something invested in Area Zero. Also why is she allowed to use a pokemon that according to the restrictions placed on Area Zero, is too dangerous to be let out; while it's one of her iconic members. Also as pointed out, didn't give a damn about the Titans, or the roaming Paradox Pokemon. Blatantly ignored it's existence. Draws a lot of questions, she could be a little unnerving, robotic even. I feel like she left some thinly veiled threats to people at times.

I do have a small theory. I think the third legendary is actually the one manipulating everything. When the professor’s AI exclaims “is this only what they cared about” the AI seemed genuinely shocked when paradise protocol went in to effect. Which is weird cause the AI is supposed to have ALL the memories of the professor. Which could be just that the professor made it after the AI was created but it’s weird that it never noticed the professor doing something. But then that reminds me of the situation with Heath where he lost consciousness and suddenly wrote done a bunch of stuff that he had no memory of. I’m thinking he got possessed by the third legendary and wrote it down, it could be the third legendary also possessed the professor and programmed the paradise protocol and they had no memory of it, which means the AI would probably have no memory of it either. It could be the third legendary is trying to also leave the crater but it can’t. I also find weird how the Miraidon/Koraidon that likely ended their life was part of the paradise protocol. Could be the legendary is luring people in to the crater specifically so it can be set free. Hence why people become obsessed with it. The King of Paldea, Heath, the professor, maybe Geeta is also obsessed with Area Zero and she’s actually trying to assemble her one expedition to go deeper, you make a good point on her seeming to like power, so the power of the crater could be alluring to her. Maybe the legendary quartet of ruin were sent to Paldea specifically to stop the King from harnessing the third legendary, and the story behind them is basically how people’s greed cause their undoing. So it would be a good echo to that story.

First: Lysandre is so dangerous because he knew how to manipulate people, since he targeted a problem we all know. While he talks about "Beauty" in the Games, the XY/Z Anime, made it clear that he is done with "selfish" humans. No matter what he did with his money and power, the people weren't satisfied, continued fighting nevertheless or just wanted more from him and his organisation. The "Beauty" he talks about stands for the "Beauty of live/humanity" which is simply gone in his vision. And with this way of thinking, he talked many people into Team Flare, bewitching them with a problem everybody of us knows and understands and made them join Team Flare for a huge amount of money, promising the brainwashed people to survive his "cleanse" of "not beauty humans". Like that, he not even gathered the most loyal people (outsiders and many more), but also gained more money for his goal. He even wants to "free" Pokemon by killing them all, because in his vision Pokemon are the ones to suffer the most under humans (and he means that, because he cries). Even though, like a typical villain, he still uses them himself to gain his goal (even though he tries reaching his goal slightly different in the Anime). This man is one of the most underappreciated villains in Pokemon-History and one of the most dangerous.
Second: About Geeta, she shows typical signs of a personality disorder. She seems distant, like missing empathy, which people with a personality disorder (sociopath, psychopath, narcissitic personality disorder, dark empath) do. But most of the time, these people, despite their good masking and reputation, tend to break these "masks" around people close to them. In Geetas case, the Gym-Staff (this is, because these people can't always play the "empath", it's a mask afterall. No matter what you do, there will be a time, when the real "person" shines through). Pairing it with her hidden/teased rudeness and strange commentary/behaviour I'm more than certain that she fits somewhere between the dark triad (personality disorders). Her behaviour is too paradox to not be noticed 🤔

And while the community and the grunts seems to believe he’s talking about fashions, he’s actually talking about humanity.

The Compass/Eye Marking also resembles *a Z-Crystal* - an Elongated Diamond in Shape, marking in the Center, and lines signifying Light radiating from it. Though I doubt it's the correct answer, I think it's worth pointing out...
For Geeta herself, I feel she may be driven by the same influence that Professor Sada/Turo was under when they made the Time Machine - someone had to protect them while in Area Zero, who better than the Top Champion?
As for Who or What is Corrupting these people, isn't it obvious?
      *The Disk Pokémon!*
The longer one stays in the radius of its Influence, the more they are tempted by offers of making their Wildest Dreams a reality. The Professor and Geeta would have been sleeping in the Research Stations while working in the Crater, so they were being bombarded by these alluring Dreams constantly.
Sada/Turo, testing the entity's abilities, probably suggested it give a stable means of Time Travel, thinking it an impossibility. After providing just that, the Professor was Enthralled, and would devote the rest of his life to making the Time Machine under its guidance, throwing away all other desires and commitments - including their Son...
So Geeta has likely been possessed by whatever the Disk Pokémon is as well, to what Goals is still unknown. If the DLC doesn't provide an answer, we'll likely have to wait 'till around *Gen 12* to find out though!

She knows it's too soon to strike, and if she isn't careful, someone could do something that completely messed up her plans. By being careful, she can probably manipulate even the player into joining her side, which would be an interesting twist. The protagonist goes from being a hero of Paldea, falls from grace by helping to conquer Paldea and eventually the world, and will have to be stopped by the past and possibly future protagonists. Hell, characters like Giovanni, Archie, and Maxie might even step in to help stop Geeta.

Tbh I also think she was holding back, but curiously enough, all of her team (minus Glimmora, who is instead connected to Terastal and Area Zero) shares the theme of breaking throught anything regardless of circunstance and having great will
Espartha is known for her vicious temper (and her ability is literally called Opportunist), Kingambit is not good at complicated tactics yet still is at charge due to its battle skill and strenghts and for winning against all odds with brute force, and will to fight, Avalugg is based on a icebreaker ship and breaks throught anything in his path with its body while he transports Bergmites, Gogoat is use as a mount that can go through every terrain and Veluza literally shets his own flesh to be faster and concentrate better
Even if she is not evil, she is certainly hiding something. Maybe she knows of some evil (maybe the 3rd legendary) and she is taking measures to stop it by any means necessary, even if it means bending the rules to her will and make others hate her?

She must've strong armed her staff. She's forcing them to do what she wants. If they didn't do what she wanted, If they tried to quit their jobs and leave the Paldea Region, she would probably have them killed. If you think about it, she's gangster like Giovanni. The only difference is that she doesn't show it and doesn't show anger. At least not yet anyway.

Speaking of Lysandre, there’s a Terra Dark Pyroar in the game. Could be an Easter egg, could be his Pyroar.
What’s the connection? Terra Dark. Lysandre had an almost Dark type team. He had a Mega Gyradose. And now there’s a Terra Dark Pyroar. Coincidence? Probably.
Made me wanna write a fanfic of Lysandre surviving and maybe becoming immortal after the weapon (because of that one Pokémon Generations episode), and then going to Paldea.
Hell, who knows. Maybe the Pyroar is Lysandre. Tinfoil theory. As possible as Penny being secretly Iono or Iono being a robot.
But the thought of a talking Pyroar whispering evil plans or coaching Geeta tho.
Also side note on Ghetsis, he does have a sage that looks suspiciously like the headmaster of the school.
He could have joined and told Ghetsis about the splicing legendary thing since his ancestor was disgrace by the community, that they didn’t believe his findings. Personally; I am waaaay more suspicious of Raifort given her dialogue towards the player in regards to capturing the four ruinous beasts. She quite literally sounds like Ghetsis in regards to how she finds the player “useful” to her goals. Bonus points for being the history teacher as well; as Dennis the Menace Harmonia was researching the Abyssal Ruins. Getting a 10 year old kid to be your errand runner of releasing and capturing ancient malevolent Pokémon who could cause catastrophic damage on a massive scale is not the kind of activity a genuinely good person would be up too.
BUT! A person like Raifort who has the subtly of a train crash was hired to work at the Academy. Which is run by Geeta. If some semblance of your theory turns out to be true; I would not be surprised if Geeta brought her onto the school staff for information or recruitment purposes. Either that or she’s keeping an eye on Raifort to make sure whatever ambitions she has don’t get in her way.

Geeta is a very suspicious character. We've never had a champion so involved in the region but do little when it comes to potential threats. We've had champions with multiple jobs/interests before but not ones that deal heavily with how the region work like Geeta.
I also don't remember the other champions being league directors like Geeta. I know Rose and Peony were league directors in Galar. Alder was elected champion so there a possibility of there being a chair in unova. In Kanto (and johto technically) there was a league and no champion. So in many regions it seems that champion and league director are separate jobs so it's strange Geeta is chairwoman and champion of the league.
Also Geeta doesn't need all 3 jobs to ensure good trainers are made in the region. Being the chair of the school and either of the other positions is enough power to ensure that. Even one of those jobs is fine if that's her main goal.

You know, if she turns out to be the bad person of pokemon S/V then isn't that predictable? Considering the last chairman in Sw/Sh Rose was also the head of the ultimate evil in their region, and I doubt the story would go into that direction as far as it went. Alot of the current theories are very speculative and it is hard to follow which narrative may be true.
About Geetas symbol on her hand - Most came to the conclusion that it may be symbolizing a Hamsa, which is a symbol that is pretty common in the middle east, which is the current theory of what nationality Geeta may be, and she defenitely has a very Indian native vibe to her appearance as well. I never really considered Larry to hate Geeta either, he is just overworked but he himself admits that the current life style he has is one that he prefers the most. The only reason as to why he dislikes Geeta is that he was forced to pick a different team for his Elite 4 team, which was a reasonable critique to begin with lol. It also seems like that Geeta is testing the skills of every gym leader very frequently, in order to see if they are indeed fit to be Gym leaders, which does indeed put alot of stress onto everyone.
Though, everyone in the Elite 4 also wears the same gauntlet with the same symbol, and if your theory that she is indeed something like a "Pokemon Iluminati" leader, and it being the trademark, then why would the elite 4 be on it, especially two children, and a overworked office worker who hates their boss? I think Geeta would immediatelly get rid of Larry if he was seen as a danger to her plans.

    • @therealdrogane
      @therealdrogane  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Actually I checked that, not all of them have the symbol on their hand, unless I missed some images.
Secondly, whether the symbol can look at one thing or another - symbols can be placed in ways to have double meanings.
As far as GameFreak's story decisions - we are talking about the same company that didn't switch things up with evil teams until Gen 7🤣 so predictable or not, if it happens, it happens.

To add on something here, it isn't even that Geeta tests the gym leaders often, in the gym leader rematches it is specified she does it "every few years", so for some like Katy, Ryme, and more than likely Grusha, that was their first ever test from her (or well, from her delivered via the method of you the player). Definitely still think something is up, and certainly find it odd that she's the one pawning such a seemingly huge task off to you the player of "Yeah tell me if you think my staff still deserves a job", but the furthest I have seen of staff disliking her is them sometimes feeling she's a bit strict and overbearing, and Larry being upset about having to use different teams.

This may sound crazy and all, but I think Geeza is an agent of that giant hex pokemon in the crater.
Going by what I read in the comments, and some things I noticed in the game, circumstances surrounding her are interesting. Despite her running everything in the region apparently, she let's Titans run amok without batting an eye, and like you said, she pretty much runs the region with pretty much little regard to her staff.
That is not to mention that she gives you the tera blast tm, her "ace" is found only in the crater, whom of which you must grind to get more of the tm. We all know that glimora is related to the terra phenomenon at this point, and so is the giant hex poke. I just find it interesting that she's the only person with a relationship with the poke and runs just about everything, yet she doesn't assist you with crater at all. I mean knowledge of glimora living down there, along with other knowledge she have had would have been nice. The one problem I'm having is, what is her motive in recreating strong people?
