    I had a theory that this whole game has very strong ties to legends Arceus. Both games deal with time travel or supposedly so and we know a lot of legends Arceus mons are coming. There is a phone case you can get that is also the ones from legends Arceus somewhere which might just be a fun cameo thing but maybe not. The final thing that connects it to me though is Volo. What merchant do we know with less than good intentions who likes to play puppet master? I think it's possible he destabilized paldea for some reason.

    I’m just now realizing that all 4 of them are found in parts of Paldea that don’t really align with their element. I expected to find Chien Pao in the mountains but nah it’s on the west by the lake. You’d expect Chi Yu, a goldfish, to be by the lake. You’d expect Wo Chien to be near the northeast as there’s more greenery there. You’d expect Ting Lu to be by either the desert on the west side or the wastelands on the east side. They’re all prolly strong enough such that if they were near their element, they probably wouldn’t have been able to be sealed

    • @NeverMeltIce
      @NeverMeltIce ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That’s so true!
      Also aligns with the stakes being of a colour of the type that is super-effective against each respective Treasures of Ruin legendary.

      Ting-Lu is near a huge lake because it actually created the lake by exerting its power to create seismic fissures and collapsing/sinking a massive chunk of the Paldean landmass.
      Chi-Yu is the reason the surrounding non-volcanic mountains it’s sealed within have huge chunks of obsidian on them.
      Chien-Pao is sealed near a spot that’s a massive desert, what do you think happens when you flash-freeze an entire place on a large scale, killing everything, and then it thaws out?
      Wo-Chien… well first of all, it’s sealed near badlands, but also the entire Paldea region has a lot less tree cover that pretty much every previous pokemon region

    I think the four treasures were used in ritual sacrifice/blood magic. The sword cuts, the tablets have the instructions aka the king's evil deeds written on them, the vessel holds blood, and the beads were thrown in which is why CY says splashy.

  • @ravenous14
    @ravenous14 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    I have a theory that they are tied to the Abyssal Ruins in B/W.
    There are 4 characters that are unidentified which seem to bear some resemblance to the treasures. One is a fish like Chi-Yu, one seems to be based on Chien-Pao as it says the king defeated it, similar to that dex entry, one sort of looks like Wo-Chien, but is regarded as the king, so I may be wrong. The other doesn't really look like Ting-Lu, other than maybe looking like a cup, but maybe I'm missing something.
    I think it's supported by the fact that B/W was somewhat based on Chinese origin, with Yin and Yang for Zekrom and Reshiram, the weather trio, etc.
    The ruins are filled with stories of the amazing king. Maybe his sin was pride.

    Generation X (Ten) is going to be featured in Australia.
    I have a source who is working with scouts of GameFreak, who are touring Australia (where I live).
    They are currently ‘mapping’ in Brisbane as of writing this comment.
    West Taiwan? No I doubt it will come any time soon due to the ongoing socio-political issues that a majority of the world’s people disagree with…especially Japan 🇯🇵.
    Most parents would be resistive in buying this for their kids.
    They’re also trying to get more into the market within the Subcontinent of India 🇮🇳. India 🇮🇳 is currently warring against West Taiwan over land disputes.
    But the fact that Game Freak can ‘sprinkle’ West Taiwan’s mythology through its games, allows for a nice compromise.

  • @Gamer1288
    @Gamer1288 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Judging by the Anime episode where Ash was turned into a Pikachu by a Magic Potion then you can tell that Magic exists in the Pokemon World. The Curses could be a part of that. Someone could have used Cursed the Treasures and then payed the Merchant to sell them to the Paldean King.

  • @JiyuKishiParn

    I suspect the Asado Desert is more likely Ground Zero of the Kalos doomsday weapon impact than Wo-Chien's doing, assuming the 1 million years Great Crater stuff isn't falsified information. The giant mud pit in South Province Area 5 looks to be a likely spot Wo-Chien did its thing, and is not far from where it was sealed.

    • @therealdrogane

      You should check my Kalos War video. I think you are correct.

    • @giantmastersword
      @giantmastersword ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Idk about that. The area where you find the spooky plate in kalos seems like the kind of place that was built to be ground zero. The chamber of emptiness is completely devoid of life and has some interesting dialogue associated with how unpleasant it is. There's even a banetteite there - a pokemon associated with abandonment and despair.
      It might be reaching a little, but the cave is surrounded by a river, as if it was a crater that has been slowly filling itself in, but nature refuses to fill in that one chamber.

    Even though it’s not my favourite, Wo Chien has to be my definition of what the Ruin Legends should be. Wo Chien seems more like an ancient artifact making a body that can defend itself, unlike the others, which look like they slapped some artifacts on an animal. It almost makes me wonder if a legend like Ting Lu was always a bull. It’d make more sense for Ting Lu to be a Turtle since the implication is that the artifacts are a requirement for the body to remain. Having a more defensive attitude with the Ruinous artifacts makes Wo Chien seem more like a calculative antagonist, defending its body with its body as opposed to Ting Lu, who doesn’t really care if it falls of its body.

    They can in a way also be interpreted as references to the 4 horsemen which are stated to bring about the end of civilization. Legendaries are often trios not quartets. The Sword leopard is death, samsara goldfish is war, Bowl head deer is conquest and of course leaf pile snail is famine.

    The second I heard "ancient Pokémon wielders", I thought of Legends Arceus. With that, I theorized that Volo may have been the "merchant" that sold the Treasures of Ruin to the Paldean King. Think about it. Who else would've had the time and opportunity to do this in those ancient times?

    They remind me of the 4 horseman of the apocalypse. They all cause natural disasters which on their own are not a big deal, together could maybe be cataclysmic. It could be seen as the Pokémon world’s way of cleansing the evils of man which would be represented by the king of paldea. I think this opens up a few thought lines for the history professor as well such as is she the descendant of the merchant? Is it once again time to release them on man as her lineage has done before?
    Also, Chi-Yu does not hold a candle to slugma and magcargo 😂

    Those Treasures of Ruin Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu definitly come from the region that is related to China (or maybe Taiwan since it was a Spanish colony in 17th century) in our real world. Maybe it's an foreshadowing with the future game pokemon generation that will be set in that region. For my favorite Treasure of Ruin pokemon Chi-Yu is definitely inspired by Chinese Goldfish. So this could mean that Paldea had some connection with this eastern region, and this is why this merchant was able to give those Treasures of Ruin to ancient king of Paldea.

    I do wonder what exactly the timeline was like; Likely over 1,000 years ago, Paldea's emperor stopped the Ruinous Quartet with "Pokemon Trainers", something that seemed less normal in Hisui, which should be like, 1800s at earliest. & there was the Kalos War. Was Hisui just way behind on adopting Pokemon Training? Or was the existence of those "Pokemon Trainers" just an embellishment of Mrs. Raifort's "fairy tale"?

    🖤💛❤️I’m very much looking forward to seeing how GameFreak will incorporate the vastness of First Nations Australian Aboriginal mythology and culture in the franchise.
    We are The World’s Oldest Continuous Culture that is still in existence to this very day, and I’m so proud of my fellow First Nations Australians in what we have achieved and what we still can accomplish.
    Eg. world’s oldest man-made tool/invention can be found in Western Australia, and they’re basically a bunch of fish traps made by positioning rocks along a river-mouth to ‘steer’ fish into them and trap them for easy access. Over 60,000+ years old.

      @@LunaP1 Copperajah most likely comes from the Indian region equivalent. Back in Gen 1, Raichu’s Dex entries mention an Indian elephant. Recently they redid the Dex entry and replaced the Indian elephant line with Copperajah instead. Plus it being based on based on an elephant maybe even being an elephant statue seen as traditional Indian art makes it more likely it’s from Pokémon’s Indian based region, not the Chinese one.

    You can also compare these ruin Pokemon to the four horsemen of the Apocalypse in the biblical sense. I have a hard time saying their names so. The fiery goldfish represents war which is often a part of envy or knowing that another nation has much more than them. It's easier to take than to create. Chin Pao represents death gaining hatred and evil from those who've been fallen by a blade. Also being very close to the representation of death in the biblical story. The ruinous tablets represent famine because of the Life Force draining affects which could just destroy crops. In the ruinous coldren could represent plague even though it ravishes the world it's fear is what it generates. Plague is represented more than just disease like locusts bad weather even earthquakes.
