The "Super Duty Mustang" 🤘👀🤘
look good
Toms refurb has a mustang you need to see Look him up on TH-cam
Be careful people! There's a fake vtuned account saying you've won a prize in the comments. Don't fall for it.
The bumper/air dam looks very good and my only suggestion is to use the same mesh in the upper grill as well so the look is 'unified'. Then it won't look pieced together as an afterthought.
It’s the same mesh, but 90 degrees the other way
He should ask his brother Nate to CNC him the mesh or a grill
@@DP-ht1cx that’ll be the perfect move
That’s not mesh. That’s steel floor for tree stands. Lol
Dont rush Ben. Take the time and do it as YOU want it. I`ll be here till the end
Is it fun?
💯
It's has been 10month on this built.. yeah don't rush 🤣
All the way!!!
He is taking his time 🤷🏻♂️
I think rounding off the bottom grill will make it look best. Also I’d use the same mesh on both top and bottom grill.
You're definitely on to something with that front end design. It's really interesting to watch your creative process. You work more like a sculptor as opposed to engineer, in that you don't tend to do renderings and plans. You just go right into the metal work, modify, adjust and finalize. Fun to watch! For continuity, you might have someone water jet some vent mesh that matches the factory upper grill pattern. Surely there's a fan or a business out there looking for promotion that would do it for you, right?????
I thought the same thing on the grill pattern. Also would be cool if he could make the hood open the opposite with hinges in front.
Your brother's at @motorheadco could use the water jet cutter to replicate the mesh design for the bumper
This is coming slowly but surely great imagination and one more thing how about get inspired on mustang front end of a 05 to 08 is more or less s8milar what you want just an idea but s coming really nice
Is this a 1965 or a 1966 mustang. You have a 1966 grill. I like the 1965 hexagon grille better. I think shaping the bumper center opening the same shape as the grille curved ends with the same grille pattern would look better. Also I think the outer bumper openings might look better round like the headlights.
Ben has really built something to be proud of here on TH-cam. Over a half million subs is impressive by any standard.
I think it is Vin.
@@joffbar everyone calls him Ben or Vtune
The mustang looks amazing with your own custom made body kit, for sure will look even 🔥 after body work and paint 👏🏼👏🏼
Congrats. Front bumper looks terrific. Splitter will hopefully be thin.
I love this build!!! The bumper is looking great, do the splitter off carbon fiber!!
Love the aggressive bumper.. reminds me of the early 90's Stock car.... Project coming around !
Cut the hole in the bumper to resemble the upper grill. Splitter use some custom made from carbon. Haven't you thought about building a Kevlar bumper? You have a nice base to make a negative form.
Looking a lot better now that the ugly splitter has gone. Got to rethink the side profiles. As the bumper curves to join the wheel arch there's the original mustang crease. You can't have that I needs attention either a filler panel or adjusting how the side panel needs to sit to cover it up.
Christ, is this thing still not done? He's been building it since before the pandemic.
Definitely coming along nicely. I’m kind of starting to see where you’re going with it and I’m diggin it. Going to look great once it’s done.
Putting the same mesh in the grille would tie things together. I would also modify the lower grille so you could use the same aluminum trim pieces that frame the bottom of the original grille. You should have an extra pair from the first Mustang. I didn't like your first attempt but this one is looking good. The first one would be a good wall hanger for outside the shop.
Fantastic job on the front bumper. I agree, I think it makes the Mustang look way ahead of its time and not cheesy - amazing work! I am kind of digging the no splitter look. Keep it up!
Thank bumper is looking sweet, I was kinda skeptical about it first but looking saweet!
Holy zoomed in on the Bronco Batman....lol
Bad Chad would be envious of that bumper. Plus Lowe's and Home Depot have aluminum coils for flashing and fascia it might be cheaper and as good and easier to transport.
I just realized something Ben. You're into a whole new level of talent! I follow two other builder channels, Half Ass Kustoms and Bad Chad. Both of them are great fabricators and they build as they go. That's a rare talent as far as I'm concerned and you've got it!
Brent from half ass customs is a genius in my humble opinion!!
Car guys are the most creative people out there.
Hopefully he finishes it unlike bad Chad who halfasses his work and spaces the build off never completing anything.
@@alichammout1333 I agree 100%. He's extremely humble too which makes him that much more of a genius. Ben is on his way though.
Now looks amazing without splitter ..
cannot wait to see it painted
Awesome stance!! So COOL!
An inter cooler of some sort would look cool asf sitting behind that new grill 👀
Super interesting seeing the front bumper design evolve. A few small thoughts though: for the front splitter that sits beneath the bumper and the internal portions of the bumper that channel air towards the cooling components: beveling the edges so that air flows right in opposed to hitting a right angle will likely have a big impact on performance and aero. Keeping a central fin around the middle of the bumper would definitely help you add some rigidity to the structure and if you want to preserve the current spacing look, recessing the fin and beveling the leading edge would help conceal it and channel air exactly where you want it. The incorporated fog lights in that space between the middle and outer gaps on the bumper was a good idea that plays toward the resto-mod aesthetic you were talking about. Last thought is that using a plastic or lightweight alternative to metal for the mesh would keep the weight down a ton and definitely benefit performance. Looking forward to the build's continued evolution. Keep it up.
Side vents on the bumper really fit this car with a two stripe paint job it'll look nice in that middle section. Your custom work is inspiring to say the least🤘🤙
Nice fab work! I’d split those two outer grilles a few inches back from the bumper face to make four ducts, and vent the front brakes with the outer vent ducts and use the inner to cool the engine, etc. and of course the lower center grille is still there to do it’s job. That expanded metal mesh is heavy and you can even buy it at Home Depot and Lowes…. It’s pretty generic. I’d look to see if I could find something else that few people, if any, have seen. Maybe someone with a punch press or a CNC plasma cutter could make a nice one off pattern. Can’t wait to see the next video! Stay Safe!!!
We love this series. Continue doing everything right.
your vision is awesome ...Its awesome to watch someone literally design a car from just a shell that bumper is just fire!!!!!!!!!!
17:36 recording error, but it’s all good 😊
I love the way you designed the front bumper it looks really good! Looking forward to seeing the other side of the Mustang take shape also the color you choose. Following along with this build has been awesome, excited to see what it will look like once finished!
Would be good to make the smaller vents functional with some ducting directed to the front brakes. Definitely prefer it without the splitter - a lower profile sheet metal one or carbon one would work well. Nice work! 👍🏻
Ask someone to come in and 3d print the front of the car. Than that person/company can extract the pattern from the upper grille and recreate a lower grill with the same graphics. Since they have the full front scan they could also provide the frame for the lower grille to fit exactly in your new bumper! This is just a simple 3d print away and it doesn’t cost much either!
Regarding the mesh you welded on there in the back… keep that as well. It fills a good blackout function if you will not have a intercoler all the way facing this hole!
Awesome build
Keep it up! ✌️
Ben, you need to move the master cylinder into the engine bay. If you had left the fender stock it would’ve been a hassle but doable to remove it every time you needed to add fluid. It’ll be a massive pain to work on the brakes now. Go ahead and move the unit now. there’s plenty of room in the engine bay
If you can get honeycomb steel mesh that is the way to go. That is the mustang style for the grills.
Still not hating it bro , Ford made a ton of these cars and plenty still around , I'm believing it will be a one of a kind and using Steele instead of fiberglass means it'll hold together longer , from a professional fabricator you're doing an awesome job
I downloaded Upside and got $18 on my first fill up because gas prices are ridiculous.
😂😂😂
Put your oil cooler and trans cooler in the middle. Use outer vents for brakes. Looks good!
Now it needs a drag wing on the back Awesome brother looks beautiful. Keep after it. Thanks for sharing.
Hi VTuned, for the middle vent on the bumper, try louvers instead of the mesh.
The mesh looks good for the side vents, but not sure for the one in the middle.
20:01 yeah, you definitely nailed it with the grilles in the bumper. Did you know there are probably 1000 different mesh patterns? you can even get custom mesh made if you want.
The tech term for it is perf metal and it's available in aluminum, steel, brass, copper.
What I would do is replace the stock mustang grille so either it matches exactly, OR you do something similar, rectangles running lengthwise. I think it'd be best that they match though.
Dude… Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re always gonna have haters telling you you’re copying this guy or that guy. You do you brother. You got vision and mad skills.
I love the direction this is going. It's looking like old school muscle. Still wishing I could do this with my old trans am, but I just don't have the skill.
I agree with the comments looks dope… I would match the center vent on the bumper match the shape of the upper one… ones more round while the other is square
I think a little more rounded would help the look/flow. I think it looks cool, but more rounded in the corners would help tie it all together
12:58 good job, you followed the placement of the existing design elements on the stock fascia and bezel to your custom splitter/bumper. You get a cookie! hehehe
As you play around with designing things you'll figure out little things like this make the whole thing come together in the end.
Definately makes it look aggressive sir!! You are a modern day Picasso with Metal!! Shout out from TENNESSEE!
loving the look of the new bumper didnt think i would in the start but damn good look now
Looks cool like two grills sandwiched together👍🏼
Looks great Ben, I like it better without the splitter, but this is your car. You are so talented.
Ben, the bumper design is fantastic. This is going to be a sick Mustang.
Front end is looking good,That Big ol Coyote will appreciate all the air it will get.
This is one of the bets channels on TH-cam. Love this project. Watched all the Mustang episodes yesterday.
Personally I think angling the bottom of that bumper back a bit would look better, and also I think for me the main vent in the bottom is a bit wide, I'd go slightly narrower and probably keep the shape of the original.
The bottom valance should maybe follow the same curve as bumper… might look killer
It would be cool if you could match the Upper mess with the Lower three. The expanded metal is good, but you can do better but it take more time. Love the mods!
I had to admit… it’s starting to look pretty good … reminds me of the late 60’s Trans Am racing Mustangs … keep up the good work!!!
bumper turning out nice, the splitter is a hard sell but im sure you will make it look nice.
I think the front looks a lot better without the splitter.
Looks good. Also looks like a late model f250 bumper in a way.
I was thinking since last episode it’s good he put the rake into it or would be a truck bumper for sure 😅
Love the bumper. Honeycomb mesh for both grills would look great.
When modifying stuff always takes a lot of time, as you have been doing is fitting then remove to change things or fit better, as with big car business they have more guy's doing things on one car and still takes a long time, you are doing well and you will get it looking the way you want it 👍🏽👍🏻
Get Nate to CNC you a grill for the bottom, maybe matching the top grill if possible
Looks amazing Ben. Leave it the way it is.
You’re lucky to be so skillful working with metal. A true artist. Imagine all the dust if you were working with fiberglass and body filler.
Dude that bumper is sickkkk🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ben, you should get yourself a plasma cutter this should help your future car design aspirations.
Must admit, I wasn't sold on the bumper last ep, but you nailed it
MAD MAX Mustang love this build
Looking Great 👍
I still think that the splitter should be thinner, and maybe contour with the bumper below the air ducts
Bumper looks good without any spliter, but think about chrome plating of this bumper, it will look way worse just painted :p
I agree with matching the top and bottom grills, the bottom is a little too square
I think the bumper looks class young man. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished job. Good luck with the rest of it. Paddy from Ireland.
Bruh! This mustang build is sick! You truly are a visionary with your building skills. This car gonna be worth 250k easy once completed. I love the front end it looks aggressive AF bro! Keep up the great fab work. This is going to be one killa azz mustang ❤
Looking good but the left fog light grill is at a different angle to the other grills. Needs turning 90°
She's coming out NICE, only thing I would have done differently is angle the bottom side of the center cut up to serve as a scoop for the radiator.
Good work! I would try to match the grille material in front for the main grille and the bumper grilles if possible.
Perfect vents for supercharger intercooler, oil coolers for engine, transmission or power steering if you decide on a mechanical pump and brake ducts as well.
I'm glad you added the vents because it was starting to look like a snow plow. but it looks like its starting to get heavy with all the added steel I would try to start looking for ways to incorporate more plastic and aluminum when you can.
I take back with I said on your last video about the front bumper. You did a good job and it came out great
This front remains me of the first time I saw 24 hour Le Mans race back in the 60's. Never doubted you on this build after watching you rebuild the McLaren
Impressive. Can't wait to see it all welded up. Superduty. Next thing you know you got Westen Chaplin at your door offering to put a Cummins into it.
this build is turning out to be an amazing one.REALLY LOVE THE BUMPER and the design you did Great JOB.
Don't forget the first rule of customizing, 'whatever you do in the front, you have to do in the back.'
Excellent build! Build what YOU want!! I think you should match the mesh that's in the top grill
Looks aggressive as hell pal looks awesome it’s only gonna get better but you need to do the wide body all the way round lol but it’s looking awesome can’t wait to see the painted car gonna look awesome
Bumper look great especially when you add the Led lights. Pretty sweet...
Bumper looks great , I wouldn’t change anything about it .
I would definitely add some gussets on the bumper brackets. Help reduce any movement side to side and will strengthen your weld area. A little more real estate, and a little more insurance for it
Ben, get someone to 3d scan your new bumper so it's on file and can be fabricated from other materials. It's too damn good as a one off and would be awesome for other peoples builds like yours to have your design readily available :-)
Bumper looks like it has been vTuned!
been following you for a while and i think it's awesome how you try new things and build the car the way you want. i realize it's unfinished and you're far from done, but the side vents on the rear quarter just look out of place with those 90 degree angles up against all the swoops and curves of the body and wide body kit. just my thought, obviously your car and design, but you ask for comments. definitely gonna keep watching whatever you choose. thanks for giving me something to watch :)
That front bumper looks sick 😍
17:34 What happened?
hi ben, looks great like how it looking, but if it was me i would use the same grill as the original one, on the bottom, that way it would all match
Bumper looks sick, consider making a mold of it for a different material if needed.
5 👍👍👍👍👍 for the bumper ! Take your time, Rome wasn't built in a day !! 😀👍🍺
I am loving this build, SEMA-worth!
I remember when you almost gave up on it.
Great stuff here, keep it up.
Looks fantastic. With the bottom grille maybe it would be an idea to use the same material and make the main grille look the same as well.
Nice bumper bud. I finally feeling good enough and finally finishing the 4 year restoration of my 1981 Chevy Silverado long bed. Had a few setbacks with the cancer, reaction to medication and being hospitalized but I'm back and doing great
instead of using that "standard" expanded mesh, you should check out specialized mesh like the "honeycomb" mesh. It will give your mustang less of a "BBQ grill" look. You're welcome.
Don't know why but 1970 2002 bmw come to y mind. In my opinion you shoul match the grill and get rid of that gap between the bumper and grill. Also make the connection bumper/fender flair in curved line. Great work, Loved Samcrac saying you to finhis it! Hilarious... Price wise with all the hours you put (and the missing ones) that one of a kind mustang should never be listed under 55k. Keep on the great work and videos V
Check this bmw 2002 front!
Now the pony got muscles. Much more aggressive look 👍
