  • Despite what you have been told, it is very likely you do not need a total knee replacement. There are multiple less invasive options like a partial knee replacement or biologic knee replacement that can allow patients to return to the activities they love and avoid the pain of an arthritic knee.
Even the 20% that do need a knee replacement can receive a robotic knee replacement that avoids the use of cement (like in a traditional knee replacement) and allows active people to get back to what they love, pain-free.

Injury-related osteoarthritis is not something you have to grin and bear. It is a fixable condition. There are alternatives to treating knees, which can help delay or avoid an artificial knee replacement. Even in cases with advanced damage, knees can be biologically reconstructed by carefully regenerating and rebuilding tissues instead of cutting out large parts and replacing them with metal and plastic.
    ---
Dr. Stone developed the BioKnee program to replace, regenerate or rebuild damaged portions of knee cartilage and injured ligaments using advanced biologic techniques, restoring the articular cartilage and replacing the meniscus while preserving as much of the natural biology of your knee as possible.
Dr. Stone is one of the world’s leading experts in meniscus transplantation and a pioneer of biologic orthopedic techniques. For over 30 years, he and his team have specialized in giving people like back their vital meniscus shock absorbers, keeping the knee moving naturally, and reducing the likelihood of a total knee replacement.

I had a PKR on 3/9/23, unqualified people were telling me I should get FNR but my surgeon knows what he’s doing and has done an excellent job I’m now looking forward to pushing weights and returning to work.

Hi doctor; my MRI shows; chondromalacia pattella grade 4 and degenerative changes as the form of marginal osteophytes and reduced joint space along with lateral meniscus grade 1 injury
So what procedure can be done to avoid TKR and get back to the intense jumping activities along with badminton in professional level?

Did you say regrow the cartilage?? I must have watched every video online and you seem the only one who thinks that cartilage can be regrown. Don't get me wrong, that would be fantastic, but why the disconnect?

There are other surgery techniques that attempt to regenerate cartilage (microfracture, MACI, etc); however, these techniques do not produce durable cartilage and, thus, do not provide long term relief. Providing a couple articles here to explain how it works and our approach:
