The car is awesome especially with the pack of technologies loaded in. It's left MB and BMW behind. Excellent review Thomas! One of the best Audi cars definitely, with a monster V8 TDI under the hood. My favourite colour is blue with grey and speaking about the upright sitting position is my favourite one - that's why I prefer the new Tiguan.
10:43 yeah and on top of the pretty good standard features you also get the exclusive engine that no matter what you might put in in a standard Q7, you don't get the 4 liter V8 diesel with 435 HP and 900newton meter(663 ft lbs) of torque that you onlt get in the SQ7 Awesome video love the focuse on every details :)

i've ordered the blue sq7 this morning after taking it for a test drive yesterday.Even in the beautiful blue the car is still not the best looking car but the interior,technology,the driving dynamics and even the fuel economy is something amazing.In terms of refinement you could almost compare it to a Mercedes S Class.Thats how smooth it drives.

Hey Thomas, long time lurker, first time poster. Normally I like to refrain from commenting on TH-cam to keep my sanity but felt I should show my appreciation for the top-notch reviews you and your team are putting out there. Especially love it when you are test-driving on familiar territory so near to BL/JU. We are doubting between a combination of the VW T6 / Audi S1, so we'd have a vehicle for travelling around with our 2 large dogs and another for work, and the SQ7 at the moment but that might require some measuring for the dog crates. Still have some time to ponder though before our current Audi A4 Allroad goes back home, hopefully enough time to see the new Skoda SUV in action on your channel to really mess up our decision. Keep up the good work!
Surprisingly I like the low engine noise. Interior is minimalist sport design, very nice. Outside is dated still. It used to have a SUV high stance in beginning and that's been traded for a mommy-wagon low profile.
Thanks for a great review. I cross shopped the Q7 with the Volvo XC90 T8, Rangey Sport and X5 and they are all great cars, but the Q7 in echelons above in terms of versatility, dynamics, interior quality, handling and more. Yes, it looks rather reserved and wears a business suit rather than Couture, but is immensely handsome in person and the tech, the sheer advancement of the thing is palpable. Having owned and loved the original Q7 when it first launched I can safely say that I love this one even more. And offroad? I've had a blast and it never let me down.

I have a suggestion for you from here in the US ...next time it's raining that hard you should forget your German/Euro roots, and slap on a stupid American baseball cap...it would help a lot in that situation ! The XC90 is a great car yes. I chose the Audi, but I appreciate that you are thankfully not one of those calling the Q7 trash, just saying they are both great but you have a preference for the Swede. Refreshing.
It is amazing, and the exterior takes a bit of getting used to, but I love mine now. After cross-shopping with RR Sport, this was the better car in many ways and although RR is better looking, could not deny Q7 has incredible tech and luxury, not to mention the autonomous safety features.
Thomas can you please advice? I'm about to order SQ7 as a new family car and I red in an official catalogue that SQ7 is provided only with sport air suspension. What do you think about comfort ride comparing to a normal Q7? Do you feel a huge difference in comfort on a bumpy road?
I also think that the superb Bang and Olufsen sound system they use in these would go well with a 4k ultra HD (2160p) monitor(s) rear seat entertainment system and a built in 4k ultra HD Blu-ray player would be a nice option since it would utilize the quiet interior and the aforementioned tremendous sound system the Q7 has. This would make for a top notch livery vehicle (from the factory!).
The problem with the 4k players is, that they're too new for car manufacturers. A Car like this needs many years to be developed that good. But I agree, that it would be very nice in the car.
Yea - I agree with you on that, what a shame though. Could equate to a state of the art home theater(minus screen diameter) with sound - however -being so optimized in the cabin of vehicles like the Q7.
In the United States, non-stop trips from origin to destination having a distance greater than 400 miles are not uncommon, and therefore, reasonable provision for entertainment is understandable. However, in vehicles having controls with which a human driver may operate the vehicle, a toilet is much more desirable than a video Entertainment System, but already in some vehicles, we have the latter. What is next? Shall we also find vehicles with bedrooms, and playpens for the kinder? How about a swing set, or even a swimming pool? Even these things already are available, just not in the vehicle classes operated by mainstream buyers. If you want to carry with you the amenities of your house, buy an RV. If you want acoustic performance that will assault your senses from within the vehicle, check yourself into a mental hospital. If you want a vehicle having an acoustic entertainment system that can be heard in an enclosed house hundreds of feet away, above the volume of the televisions being watched by the people in those homes, then you should eat a fatal bullet.
Pretty weird cars to cross shop? You can only compare a Q7 to a Mercedes GL and a Volvo XC90. Also the Q7 is almost twice as expensive than the Volvo XC70 fully equipped.

The Q7 is a nice car but I went with XC90 after having both on loan. Audi better drivers car but price off extras were off putting, the Volvo had better seats and for cruising. But as always Thomas great review. PS while driving the Q7 I was almost busted by the police while testing its o-100/100-150 on a 50 road.
Great in depth review as always Tomas. Love the car, my only criticism are these pop up GPS screens Audi is going with, I just don't like the look and feel that an integrated screen would look way better..even if it was smaller. I'm sure 80% of Audi SQ7 owners will just use the heads up dash display instead . cheers, BW

Thanks for another great movie. My friend in Germany bought the Grey SQ7 and he have Wrap It In Matte Grey when he saw my Matte Grey Volvo T8. I had my T8 for 1 year now an I Love this car I had the old Q7 3,0TDI and the T8 is my no1. Let's see in few months then I will visit my Friend in Germany what I think of the new SQ7...... I want Hybrid and 6-7 Seats but Audi have placed the battery in a not good location so the can't have 7 seats in Q7 👎🏼
why did they not just go for it and offer the black exterior trim version with carbon fiber surrounding the grill, rear valance, side panels and wing mirrors.? anyway ive now gone off the silver trim version and think the black trim version is the way to go but not in white a nice light metallic/pearl colour.

The local dealership is getting a 5 in August and 4 are already sold! Hoping to have a ride in one when they have a demo model in!

There's an english term for "Turboloch" which is simply "turbo lag", it's quite commonly used I think :D

Thanks for another great movie. My friend in Germany bought the Grey SQ7 and he have Wrap It In Matte Grey when he saw my Matte Grey Volvo T8. I had my T8 for 1 year now an I Love this car I had the old Q7 3,0TDI and the T8 is my no1. Let's see in few months then I will visit my Friend in Germany what I think of the new SQ7...... I want Hybrid and 6-7 Seats but Audi have placed the battery in a not good location so the can't have 7 seats in Q7 👎🏼

why did they not just go for it and offer the black exterior trim version with carbon fiber surrounding the grill, rear valance, side panels and wing mirrors.?
anyway ive now gone off the silver trim version and think the black trim version is the way to go but not in white a nice light metallic/pearl colour.

Dont go for them. Doenst make sense for a car that is not used on the race track. Remember to take Alcantara seats
