This is the new Audi SQ7!
Rolling in with a number of exterior & interior updates, along with an all-new engine, Mat’s on hand to find out whether this newly-updated 7-seater is the must-have, family-friendly performance SUV!
So what’s new compared to the old model? Well the big difference is under the bonnet! Whereas previously model was diesel-only, the new SQ7 rolls up with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 to deliver 507hp & 770Nm of torque!
As for the other updates, you’ll find the usual styling tweaks both inside and out, but what else would you expect from a mid-life facelift?
The question is, can Audi warrant the almost £100,000 for the range-topping Vorsprung model? You’ll need to stick with Mat to find out!

Performance suv is fine, performance 7-seater suv is just stupid....you pay so much for a big engine which would have been amazing fun in a sedan, and you don’t see any in your suv

It’s very sad that car reviewers aren’t impressed by a 90.000£ performance suv that cruises with 100 mph stable through a corner. This thing is nuts with all its technology. More appreciation for such a vehicle please
You can take your wife and young kids on the track with thing w/o any car seats.
I understand but you do have to consider that is is quite expensive and Matt has reviewed some of the fastest cars in the world.

That's axactly what was in my mind. When he reviewed the diesel before he complained of it not fast enother saying petrol would fit it better but now he's saying opposite ??? This did 0-60in 3.8sec that's very impressive faster than SVR range rover sport
Sporty diesel cars and a 7 seater SUV are two different things

You know that sound was coming from the exhaust speaker right? This audi including other vw and skoda performance cars has a speaker in the exhaust system
Practicality and Performance. Some people think Audi's styling is plain but I think it's classic. Not too outlandish like Urus. Love it.

3.87 second 0-60 in a three-row beautiful european suv. I remember 7 years ago, the flagship Aston Martin Vanquish do that in 4.00 second.
You shouldn't compare Audi to some Aston Martin.
I’m on my 2nd SQ7 Vorsprung I’ve had both the diesel and now the petrol, perfect performance for the school run with 4 kids, great cars the petrol is more fun but the diesel was way more fuel efficient and the new one does have Active Roll Stabilisation and sport differential 👍🏻 I will do a Video review on it soon. Nice to see the 0-60 nobody ever believes me how quick it is.

Matt, you only turned off the traction control. If you keep holding the "traction off" button the ESC will turn off as well. I find in our SQ7 it pulls even harder with the ESC off as well. Great vid bud!

18:20 - well said. I have a 2017 SQ7 and it is a phenomenal 7 seat SUV but I wish it would look meaner and more badass. Without looking closely, you won’t know it’s a beast. But SQ7 does have more room than the X5

Not in this case. Way too much trendy stuff. Audi used to be an innovator, now it just fades into the crowd. Only the laser lights are unique.
Absolutely love that purple colour. Reminds me of the Techno Violet.

Love it but for me the 50TDI delivers a very similar overall ownership experience for significantly less cash which is why it is where my hard earned ended up. In terms of annoying parts, you should mention the rubbish folding system for the middle row seats, the tiny glovebox and the rear seatbelts that rattle when not fastened. Overall though, what a great package and in my experience a much better steer than the X7. That performance is also incredible for a seven seater.

There's absolutely no need for it...just like BMW doesn't have M Power for the X7...still can't get why Merc offers 63S for the GLS..such a big bulky car to get such an engine..
Can you do a comparison between the old SQ7 (diesel) and new SQ7 (petrol); would be good to see the difference in power (HP & Torque) and acceleration and braking. Thank you.

We have a 2019 SQ7 and we have traveled from France to Turkey on a road trip, there are 6 of us in the family, and I can assure you that it is a great car
How did you find the consumption for that? I have a model X currently, so I don't think the speed would blow me away. I'm looking into either the q8 or sq7 but would imagine the sq7 is quite bad consumption for high milage users? I still want some performance as well.
I like that the middle row of seats have 3 isofix anchor points. Most only have 2. The only other I've found is the Citreon C4 Grand Picasso/Spacetourer
My dad has a SQ7 too but he has the petrol version with 507 hp. Great video. 👍

@@countyantrimman yeah Both had the TDI but the V8 TDI isnt available in the hole lineup
I did like the V8 diesel, it's a shame they are using a petrol in this S car, but a diesel in the S4/S5/S6/S7. Should be the other way round

The amount of speed humps in my area and also the 4 times my alloys cracked on my saloons in the past, I have no choice but to buy a suv, and this is not a bad shout, at the moment got a x5 m50d at the moment and lease is up in July so will have to test drive one of these, and I am defo using car wow for the best lease deals!

The previous generation's diesel V8 was one cracking engine. Pointless change for an S-line model this close to the electric shift.
That paint looks great! Looks similar to BMW’s Individual Tanzanite Blue II Metallic.
3 Isofix on the 2nd row is the gamechanger for me as a dad with 3 kids who are at childseat age.

Think the diesel was a perfect engine to this car. It's a car for eg owners of mid construction companies, who want to show off a lil bit and at the same time travel a lot. It was strong, preety fast and ... unique in compare to other (from VW ;)) brands (v8 diesel). If you want a performance suv, might always choose RSQ8

Ya thats the thing despite audi bmw and mercedes have alot of comparable cars, they have alot of none comparable cars, like the r8 for example
It's not priced to compete with the GLE or X5 because it's a 7 seater. X5 can be fitted with 7 seats on the old model but not the newest one.

I miss the v12 TDI SQ7. My neighbour has one and it sounds fantastic
guys just for fun, do some live demonstration runs for the matrix LED technology to see if it actually is helpful.
There are handles on the back of the second row seats to fold them up and forward. Car reviewers always make it look more complicated to climb back there than it is.
I tried it today at dealer, it wasn't easy, believe me.

2:19 the old SQ7 even diesel one had real exhaust pipes mate, S6, s7s do got fake but SQ7 never had, even the picture you're showing is of real exhausts you can see
