I like the idea of two screens. The passenger can mess around with things like music and online connectivity ad the drive still see the nav screen. My BM has HUD and it's useful for the same reasons.
Considering the E39 M5 did 0-60 in 4.9 seconds back in the early 2000s and that was the fastest sedan in its heyday, this enormous truck being able to do 0-60 in 4.9 is simply insane. Great video, guys. as per usual!
+ndrsn In my opinion there is no need to feel betrayed as they pull it off so insanely well. The sound in the video is already great and such systems work even better in person. Audi can do that all day long if they want, it works great.
Why the second screen? It is a family car and will often be used for long trips with more then 2 people. It is not a TT, that should answer the question.
I drove and reviewed an A8 with the previous V8 Diesel and that 800NM of torque was spectacular! I hope I'll get my hands on this car at some point! :D
6 years later and that description is me! Upgrading from a supercharged HSV wagon for myself and getting the Golf R Wagon back off the wife which has been the kids daily runabout. Crazy to think these massive suv wagons have the same 0-100 as the golf wagon
+Michael McDonald I agree. Was not impressed with images, but in real life it looks much better. But even as an Audi fan I think the current Ranger Rover and the new XC90 look better from the exterior.
Great review of a great car. Best family car on sale today. Btw, what's the problem with the second screen, especially if you can hide it? It's not a sportscar like TT, but in a Q7 you might have your front passenger sorting out the music / navigation inputs etc on the middle screen and you as a driver might be focusing on your screen with speed/revs/nav directions etc
Great video, and i do like the 2-Screen setup. Its a family car and thus the passenger must also be given reasonable access to the infotainment on a long cruise. Imagine them bothering you EVERY SINGLE TIME they want to change a radio station or a song or even the volume..!!
+Carfection I'm not saying you're wrong, but that's like me calling myself older than 16, and I became 16 yesterday XD. Jokes aside, I love your videos
There is a brilliant Nurburgring video of a race spec Seat Cupra following an SQ7 and it is such an enjoyable watch. The Cupra purposely held back to watch the beast go round and the driver wasn't holding back.
I really like the thing that there is a second screen, usually at the TT if you are driving and you passenger want to change something or search, he cant since the screen is just for the driver and sometimes it becomes annoying
Why would Audi opt to use the 4.0 diesel turbo V8 instead of the the 4.0 gas V8 already being used in numerous other models? I understand the torque advantage but that's about it? Input appreciated.
Yeah... a screen in the middle has the idea of allowing everyone to see how far the journey has either taken how much is left. Same idea with route screens in airplanes, they're dotted everywhere for everyone to see. like an airplane, it is a people carrier. Would you say that my point is proven?
I agree it was a stupid point for a car reviewer to say that as passengers usually like to access all the systems and select the music if the driver is concentrating, the TT is a different type of car
Having two screens is very helpful. Having one screen ends up cramming into much information. You can have one screen for gps and the other for music, or whatever else you want. Switching between settings on one screen is cumbersome and can be rather dangerous while driving. It's better to have two screens. Also, just like you did, if you don't want them both up, you can just lower it into the dash
+Rob Booth Automotive That's because it's fake sound from the outside, unlike BMW which generates fake sound from the inside. It's located somewhere in the exhaust the sound generator or whatever it's called, I don't know.
I really like the idea of a second screen to use as te stereo. Because i hate the new cars which only have one screen which you would have to use as both the sat nav and stereo
+Guillaume Laplanche The epa and liberals have destroyed any chance of diesel cars and trucks taking off in the USA. In fact, the few we have access to now will soon go away. They favor "hybrids" and electric cars instead.
this is a pretty cool car. the engine is just such a masterpiece. 900nm!!!! anyways, it would be cool to see Audi put this engine in their a6 a7 a8 and q7, somewhat like what BMW is doing. it would be super interesting to see BMWs new 394 quad turbo 6 cylinder go up against this beast.
A bit off topic, but I want Audi to go back to the petrol V6 Bi-Turbo. Only this time, fit it with some MONSTER Turbos. I love the wallop out of my B5 S4, even with its stock turbos. I haven't found an Audi like it since. The N/A V8s are cool, but they don't have that Turbo charm. The V6 Supercharged is cool, but it just doesn't have that sudden kick in the face of power like a twin turbo.
@Carfection great review, always love your reviews, RS7 Avant is probably the best one I've seen of your reviews. Quick qs.: what is the number at the end of this review...."so send me a message, so show me a passage...." - much appreciated!
Susan D I wrote this comment 9 months ago and as of today I take it back. I love the new Q7/SQ7 design after seeing them rolling around in real life and it just looks so clean cut and sharp! Haha sorry leonardo
Nah, this one smokes the old Q7 V12 in almost every way. The design, i'll give you that! The Q7 V12 looks just fantastic. Still not used to the new design, at least the front. The back is sexy as hell imo. But engine, sound, suspension, fuel efficency and so on speak for the new one.
S Miller Its two turbos, the third "Turbo" is a 48 volt electric air compressor which will rapidly pre-charge the system to virtually eliminate turbo lag, that's all it's there for.
NZsarge1 I've had it wrong, thanks for informing me this. I genuinely thought the electric turbo was connected up directly. That's a clever system though
XCAR was something different. There are hundreds of car channels but that name caught my attention. It was extraordinary, just different and I knew that their videos were the creme de la creme of car reviews. Now they're just another car channel. Not unique. Not iconic anymore
+CockatooDude previously i had watched almost all the XCAR video , probablt even twice or thrice .... now ever since the name change , dont really even care when they upload a new one ... ! and also theyre not revealing the reason for the name change
XCAR sounded like it was trying to be deliberately trendy by adding an unnecessary X to the subject that it was actually about. I don't mind the new name. And heck, it's just a name.
Really Good Review! - Not so keen on the mammut from Audi, but if a V8 Diesel should fit in a car this is certainly the right choice. The sound is a pretty intimidating deep growl - For a diesel they made a marvelous sound IMO - if it fits the conservative exterior I´m not so sure, but perhaps it compensates for the former Q7 more aggressive curves - Especially the front section I find misses some personality and the whole face appears a bit flat despite all the welded chrome - in fact is is a bit like a underbite with a broad chin. Seeing it in this video I actually like the small compression that happens towards the rear end in side profile, but the curvature could be more slung - It is all in all a very stiff design, a perhaps natural progression for the AUDI DNA but not very engaging for looks IMO. On the AUTO BAHN in the rain, this beast will rule nearly anything. I have seen the former Q7 in the big diesels version, battle 911 on the Autobahn, especially on more bumpy sections - So this V8 will be a Alpha Buffalo Bull...
dear admin, dear commenters: 1.lets make it clear, offroad car means G63, beacuse its made like a military car 2.safari car was Land Rover Defender 3.Toyota landcruiser
+Rahul Devarakonda why? what's the point? of your using 40 gallons to travel 1 mile in the UK it should be the same anywhere. it's like saying 2+2=5 in UK math.
XCar-fection; I love your videos but this one... I don't get it. Why sit there and tell us how it accelerates so fast and how the shift points in dynamic mode are violent in the best way instead of showing us? Show us how awesome it can be, please!
According to the stupid EPA, diesel engine destroy the environment faster consuming less fuel, being more efficient and producing half the CO2 of a petrol engine...
Diesel emits more NOx, than petrol. NOx is bad for the air we breath, CO2 is bad for global warming. The problem is with diesels in huge cities, where there is a lot of traffic and the air gets polluted. That's why the city Paris wants to ban diesels by the year 2020.
Epic off road demonstration.
i was impressed
I like the idea of two screens. The passenger can mess around with things like music and online connectivity ad the drive still see the nav screen. My BM has HUD and it's useful for the same reasons.

The old v12 tdi was faster wasn't it?
the tesla model s and x do it in the low 3 seconds and seat 7. this is actually not very impressive
+iSOBigD you cant compare electric cars with petrol/diesel cars
+iSOBigD " this is actually not very impressive"
lol
ivan ljubić Why not? Also there are M and AMG as well as other big Audi sedans like the S8 which are super fast too.
Not having 2 screens would be a terrible idea. It's a family car after all.
The finest looking SUV these days is this one. ....and I bet the quality is top notch as well. ........sure would like to own one.
is it just me or do diesel v8s sound awesome low down
Audi uses speakers to make the exhaust note sound better.
cool you learn something new every day
+Carter Bixler I feel kinda betrayed by it, afaik they use it for the passengers and also for outside.
ya
+ndrsn In my opinion there is no need to feel betrayed as they pull it off so insanely well. The sound in the video is already great and such systems work even better in person. Audi can do that all day long if they want, it works great.
Why the second screen? It is a family car and will often be used for long trips with more then 2 people. It is not a TT, that should answer the question.
KoenigKalle thats what I just commented
I drove and reviewed an A8 with the previous V8 Diesel and that 800NM of torque was spectacular! I hope I'll get my hands on this car at some point! :D
This car is actually perfect in every way....
6 years later and that description is me! Upgrading from a supercharged HSV wagon for myself and getting the Golf R Wagon back off the wife which has been the kids daily runabout. Crazy to think these massive suv wagons have the same 0-100 as the golf wagon
the second screen is for the passengers to use
Great video. The intro was funny!
First time I'm seeing a review from this guy.
Feeling much happier after the video.
Funny reviews are the best!
like the rear and the side of the car but not the front. Awesome colour. Thanks for the great review carfection
+miklu26 true.
In person the exterior just works
Agreed. Looks really good on the road.
+Michael McDonald I agree. Was not impressed with images, but in real life it looks much better. But even as an Audi fan I think the current Ranger Rover and the new XC90 look better from the exterior.
choosing the proper colors yes, it does work quite well
Indeed
Clinical, couldn't think of a better way to describe most of Audi's line up, great review. Keep up the great work!
+IEATU95 I got a better way: Understeering.
Exactly. I'd much rather have both, as the second one could be very useful when the driver wants to focus on driving.
Great video, and i do like the 2-Screen setup. Its a family car and thus the passenger must also be given reasonable access to the infotainment on a long cruise. Imagine them bothering you EVERY SINGLE TIME they want to change a radio station or a song or even the volume..!!
The 2nd screen is useful to display audio information, and to show the Navigation map when the main screen is displaying the Night Vision image.
"Do you want a car that goes 0-62 in less than 5 seconds?"
"It goes from 0-62 in 4,9 seconds"
Nice one XD
+Carfection I'm not saying you're wrong, but that's like me calling myself older than 16, and I became 16 yesterday XD. Jokes aside, I love your videos
+Ivo Rap go home now I think
+Jim Roland ?
i dont think anyone understood the analogy, at least you tried.
+Ivo Rap seriously mate, ur drunk, go home...sleep it off.
Frickin lovely thing! Best family car at the mo, over Range any day.
The car of the Many Faced God.
what
A man is talking b0llocks ;0)
+tavi921 A car has no name
Valar morghulis.
I thought it was vorsprung durch technik ;0)
This bloke's hilarious 😂
There is a brilliant Nurburgring video of a race spec Seat Cupra following an SQ7 and it is such an enjoyable watch. The Cupra purposely held back to watch the beast go round and the driver wasn't holding back.
Great review Zcar
All these types of high powered German cars are fun to own, if you can afford them.
3:35 Indeed, they do. There are quite a few of them "cruising" the Nürburgring.
Your reviews are amazing! Keep it up
am i the only one who likes the way it looks?
+Richardst91 Nope; I think its a decent looking vehicle, especially given its large size.
I thinks it's new look is sexy and has lots of presence in person.
That engine with a bit of tune in an A6 with 4 wheel drive would be delightful!
that intro.... I bet everyone wants that feeling to happen...
Great review. I wish it had more info on the 4 wheel steering though. Not sure if the model you were reviewing was equipped with it.
Chris Kellyman
From what i've seen from other reviews it's pretty crazy what it can do with such a big car
God I love fast Audi's, a velvet sledgehammer on wheels.
''it's also reely fawst''...gotta love british accent... lmao
Nice vid Bro
I wish this was sold in the USA... You said it was in the video, but it isn't. Hopefully it will be at some point though.
I really like the thing that there is a second screen, usually at the TT if you are driving and you passenger want to change something or search, he cant since the screen is just for the driver and sometimes it becomes annoying
Hello: What the song name in 8:27..? (there is no credit in the description)
GRTeat video thank you.
+1... The best as always.. I'd tune in for the audio/tunes track if nothing else.... Who's the recording artist at the conclusion?
Why would Audi opt to use the 4.0 diesel turbo V8 instead of the the 4.0 gas V8 already being used in numerous other models? I understand the torque advantage but that's about it?
Input appreciated.
could you please do a review of the Lexus lx750 ? that'd be great.
+Maruf Ahmed That vehicle is not available in the UK.
+chillout1109 oh okay But I wish they make a review on it if available. It looks great.
Great review!
Yeah... a screen in the middle has the idea of allowing everyone to see how far the journey has either taken how much is left. Same idea with route screens in airplanes, they're dotted everywhere for everyone to see. like an airplane, it is a people carrier. Would you say that my point is proven?

Someone with the same mind set is on "runway" here! 😊😊😊
I bet he was looking at it from a drivers view.
yes he was but this vehicle can hold 7 its about time he thinks about them 😂
+Carfection If you go foer dynamic package you get 305 Kmh (190 ish mph) which is faster than a Bentayga!
Having two screens is very helpful. Having one screen ends up cramming into much information. You can have one screen for gps and the other for music, or whatever else you want. One of the best suvs you can buy, along with the rr svr, the rr cullinan and the g wagon
great.
Sounds fantastic!
+Rob Booth Automotive That's because it's fake sound from the outside, unlike BMW which generates fake sound from the inside. It's located somewhere in the exhaust the sound generator or whatever it's called, I don't know.

Why is it not available in the US market?
+Guillaume Laplanche The epa and liberals have destroyed any chance of diesel cars and trucks taking off in the USA. In fact, the few we have access to now will soon go away. They favor "hybrids" and electric cars instead.
It is / will be available in the US. He said your getting this car.
+Carfection a diesel making more than 255 bhp for the US market? I don't believe it..
Tom Mulders well believe it because it has more than 255HP :)
I like the looks of the last gen better.
What is the Music Playing at the end of the video? Thanks
Carfection, are you planning a review of the new Audi S4 scheduled to go on sale in Europe sometime next month I believe? ;)
this is a pretty cool car. the engine is just such a masterpiece. 900nm!!!! anyways, it would be cool to see Audi put this engine in their a6 a7 a8 and q7, somewhat like what BMW is doing. it would be super interesting to see BMWs new 394 quad turbo 6 cylinder go up against this beast.
+Zayd Navaz 900nm at only 1000 rpm! :D
Electric Booster over "more" turbochargers, you think?
A bit off topic, but I want Audi to go back to the petrol V6 Bi-Turbo. Only this time, fit it with some MONSTER Turbos. I love the wallop out of my B5 S4, even with its stock turbos. I haven't found an Audi like it since. The N/A V8s are cool, but they don't have that Turbo charm. The V6 Supercharged is cool, but it just doesn't have that sudden kick in the face of power like a twin turbo.
What would you rather do 15 mpg in a diesel or petrol ? .... if you are going to drop your right foot then i suggest you get the noise to go with it.
as an american Audi tech i cant wait to get this SQ7 and the new R8 in our dealer so i can drive them already!!
This isn't very expensive either it's £70,000 which is cheaper then the X5M
The second screen is for passengers which you are more likely to have in the Audi Q7 than in a Audi TT
Nice review. Tho the wining about the 2 screens is a bit unnecessary imo.
I just hope this engine moves onto the A8.
What's the song at the very end, pls?
Bmw m5 e39 0-60 time is around 5,3s, SQ7 is faster half second and heavier 600kg,very impressive
+TheVranac87 it also has all wheel drive compared to only rear wheel in the BMW
that sound....!
Very innovative
I think SQ7 and M5 Good to go for another Super SUV battle
What is the reasoning behind having one of these rather than an S8 or an RS6/RS7?
Хороший обзор, спасибо.
@Carfection great review, always love your reviews, RS7 Avant is probably the best one I've seen of your reviews.
Quick qs.: what is the number at the end of this review...."so send me a message, so show me a passage...." - much appreciated!
I second this!
Since Carfection isn't going to bother answering... Bruce Maginnis "Back to Blue". us.audionetwork.com/browse/m/track/back-to-blue_55954
Thank you @Robert Anderson !! its an amazing track and I am indebted to you Sir.
Thank so much...!!! (Loving it)
What will you choose? Model X or this SQ7 ?
Most American would still pick Acura MDX. MDX is 80% the performance and technology, 100% the safety and size, 300% the reliability at 50% the price.
1:08
Great song!
Hate the New grill and headlights on the Q7, old one looked better and less aggressive
You sound like a bitch.
+Leonardo Cerda your mum sounds like a bitch
Who wants less aggressive lol. It's an Audi, it's meant to scare the bejeezus out of the car in front! Only joking ;)
Susan D I wrote this comment 9 months ago and as of today I take it back. I love the new Q7/SQ7 design after seeing them rolling around in real life and it just looks so clean cut and sharp! Haha sorry leonardo
put this super-diesel in the next A7 and I am going to buy one
if they put this engine on the new a5, the fkn car will fly
I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!
Wow... look at that panel gap at 1:40!
They should put this engine also in the A5,A6,A7
yessss!!!
Maybe the S5, probably the S6, for sure the S7
im waiting for 4.0T not TDI
I like the older Q7 V12 better.
+Tu Chenz What about the Q8 V16?
ZS K lul
+Tu Chenz Would have been much more fun if it was a petrol V12
rutvik dvc Naaah, 740lb-ft in the diesel sounds more fun.. imo atleast
Sounds good for a Diesel
The childish side of me wants to see what these ECU tuners will be able to get out of it. I'm thinking north of 530hp and 800lbft
+S Miller With two turbos, probably more.
jpracingph It has 3 turbos, maybe it will be more but that's why I said 'north of,' 530/800 was probably an conservative estimate
Why are you comparing the SQ7 to the Range Rover supercharged V8? The standard RR V8 SC is £100K the Q7 is
+Thehpman100 very true, and sq7 is diesel unlike those, which makes it more impressive
Xcar sounded sooo exotic , new , posh .... carfection sounds like a cheap version of curbuyer !
XCAR was something different. There are hundreds of car channels but that name caught my attention. It was extraordinary, just different and I knew that their videos were the creme de la creme of car reviews. Now they're just another car channel. Not unique. Not iconic anymore

You say we'll be getting this here in the USA, but will we be getting the diesel motor? Diesels are a tough sell over here...
if it only had the virtual cockpit, you would be complaining.
+Purplefabian absolutely, the second screen is more for passangers rather than the driver
Batuhan Genç
exactly!! its a luxury suv! lmao cant believe this was even a question

Great comments. Not the standard 'ugly' comments but more sensible. I like the looks a lot, they grow on you.
How much would it be?
Prefer the looks of previous model. Still a very good vehicle though.
dear admin, dear commenters:
1.lets make it clear, offroad car means G63, beacuse its made like a military car
2.safari car was Land Rover Defender
3.Toyota landcruiser
This or the V12 TDI?
"bit of kit" Just hit BINGO
Omg there's a boy in my year at school who is identical to him. Sounds the same and looks almost identical
It would be awesome if Audi would spec the new S4 with this diesel and also a petrol engine
Ok, got it. Gettin' myself a Kia Soul.
what does it mean "in UK money"?? I thought miles per gallon meant miles per gallon.
+chris herbert 1 UK mpg = 0.83267418460479 US mpg
+Rahul Devarakonda why? what's the point? of your using 40 gallons to travel 1 mile in the UK it should be the same anywhere. it's like saying 2+2=5 in UK math.
+chris herbert the U.S. Gallon is smaller than the UK one.
+Huw Robinson
yeah, I googled it and found that out. thanks!!
doesent come in 4.0T? (not diesel)
i like 2 screens setup
XCar-fection; I love your videos but this one... I don't get it. Why sit there and tell us how it accelerates so fast and how the shift points in dynamic mode are violent in the best way instead of showing us? Show us how awesome it can be, please!
