Usually. Because capcom recycles animations almost as much as mortal kombat. But when capcom puts in actual effort, they usually make something dope. In sf alpha 3 you had to land ryu's shin shoryuken perfectly in order to get max damage and see the a slightly different animation for the move, where ryu throws another strike before he does the uppercut motion while facing the screen. I think the way the unique way the voices sound in CvS2 compared to other classic Capcom and SNK games enhance these supers, regardless if they're good enough. You can just feel the energy from how Sakura sounds.
There’s no easy way that you could’ve done it, but I think some of the level 3s are undercut because you’re not finishing an opponent with them and getting the big flash the game gives you for winning with a super. Having said that, still love these vids! Thanks, Max!

I know this is old as hell but just going to say for people who look at this video now The SNK sort of rush super that Ryo, Yuri, King, and Kim do actually predates what ultra combos would sort of be in killer instinct. Art of fighting the game that Ryo is from actually predates killer instinct by a lot and is one of the first fighting games to have super moves ever and that Rush move where it did a bunch of hits ending in a big uppercut which called Ryuuko Ranbu literally meaning dragon and tiger wild dance. I know Max is only using that as a frame of reference but just technically speaking SNK did it before killer instinct or anyone else
I know everyone is like Bring back mvc2, but I'm over like "But how bout svc2 tho". Probably my favorite crossover game of all time. Just imagine this game coming back with online and rollback net code with some balance reworks
So the 3rd variation of the Hibiki super sets them up for a juggle, and in the event that you're in a groove (S or N grooves) where you can follow up a level 3 with a level 1 you can combo it into her dash slash super for a *really* flashy finish.
Think you did a disservice showing Rock's supers in the corner, because a big part of the visual flair is him blasting his angelic wings motif out of the target's back with that final hit.
Most characters are very similar to each other. Examples: RYU: Ken, Sakura, Dan, Evil Ryu, Akuma, Shin Akuma & even Ryo & Yuri GEESE: Rock KYO: Iori & Orochi Iori
I quite disagree with max, SNK supers in this one is absolutely fantastic even more better then capcom side clearly, even overall ratings is way more for SNK "not that max takes this seriously xD" you can feel the team admiration for these characters since they won't work every day with SNK so it feels each character from SNK is done super well including their supers,i don't think there was any favoritism at all tbh! also Terry has one of his absolute best Power Geysers ever! For me, also seeing Ryo's Ryuuko Ranbu in this is just epic, man i still remember the time where two of my favs companies together in one masterpiece fighting game that still to this day have insane presentation! Like game is gorgeous! When you change the groove you change the artist "either two of the iconics artists" also seeing geese vs akuma, Terry vs Ryu, Ryo vs ken etc. Is just nuts! I love how haoumaru is in the middle of the screen like he's the main hero 😂❤ love his super a lot here! Hibki also was NUTS in this one! Unfortunately he missed her other epic super 😂 what a game man.
I don’t know the name of the super, but RYOs combo super, A lot of characters on the King of Fighters roster emulated that’s super that’s why you see a lot of “Ultra combo” supers. Even Geese’s Deadly Rave, is canon that he copied that Ryos move. Yamazaki‘s super where he grabs you, has four stages to it and every stage does a different sequence of move even though the damage is similar so if you don’t press any buttons and his hand is up, you’ll see a different sequence of attacks if you tap it and his hand goes down more, you get a different sequence of attacks and it goes down to when he has both hands by his side. Every King of Fighters that Yamazaki is in, every iteration has different attacks per stage. It’s great.
Kyosuke's super that brings in Batsu and Hinata will always be a cool super to me, especially considering that it's the only time we'll ever see Rival School characters as 2D sprites.
I have been playing this game for years and never once drifted towards using Hibiki. It wasn't until the last couple years that I have started using her. I have to say I have fallen in love not only with the character but with her fighting style as well.
I hope Max makes a Rate the Super of *KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A* Have he played that game? I bet he would like to play as Wild Wolf and Rock. Rock plays really good in that game Fun fact. There is a stage in KOFMI Regulation A who is based in one of the stages of CvS2
I know you don't care much for Monster Hunter Stories 2 but they have some real cool super-like special moves called Kinship Attacks that could be interesting to rate. Just a suggestion.
Man this game is primo nostalgia for me, played this at our university's(UofHouston) arcade when I lived on campus. Place a quarter to get in the queue to play and probably get your ass handed to you if one of the regular's were around. I still remember the team I 'worked on' the most: A-groove R2 Blanka w/ R1 Cammy/Bison was so much fun trying to think up combos to use with that team Curious about others who played CVS2 at arcades but at least for us it felt like the 'meta' in our circle was: N or S groove with Top tier: Geese, Sagat, Terry, Vega, Eagle Also commonly used: Iori, Balrog, Sakura, Rolento
I think Morrigan’s Valkyrie Turn is such an underrated super. It has gotten me out of many jams and it combos effortlessly into Darkness Illusion. And you can control where you appear on screen.
11:38 Max, if you did the lvl 2 version of that super and ended it with flash kick, that would've been a great ender! That super looks much better when you add that.
I've always got the impression that Capcom, up until SF4, was all about the quick and dirty super specials. Basic, fast, functional. SNK was all about savoring the moment by making them flashy and last longer with more personality.
I like Dan's Legendary Taunt here the Most of all his Legendary Taunts ever since this one is like the Benchmark of Legendary Taunts and the Voice Actor really sells it, unlike SFV where he does more stuff afterwards but Dan in SFV sounds like a Drunk and I can't get over it.
Shin Akuma’s round finishing raging demon is a 10/10 for the fact that the music temporarily stops just so he can say some cold a*ss ish before the music fades back in. So cinematic.
I cannot get over the voice acting in this game. Everyone sounds SO cool!
Especially Guile, who voiced Joseph Joestar. I can hear Guile scream "OOH NOO" everytime I play him
the quality of the sound is incredible too, it was so loud but so crispy clear

It’s great.
Now I have to go listen to "True Love We're Making" because I could hear it for moments during this video. Best fighting game music ever.
Rock flips his hair back whenever he does a super so PERSONALLY I think that should be an extra bonus point on all his supers
I agree 100%
Kyosuke's super that brings in Batsu and Hinata will always be a cool super to me, especially considering that it's the only time we'll ever see Rival School characters as 2D sprites.
One of my all time favorite fighting games ever.
Capcom vs SNK 3 would be the greatest game to come out! I remember playing this game so much on PS2
Bison's 'true' level 3 in this game is basically however many paint-the-fences you can do.
I have been playing this game for years and never once drifted towards using Hibiki. It wasn't until the last couple years that I have started using her. I have to say I have fallen in love not only with the character but with her fighting style as well.
"Buster Wolf. Not enough impact."
Max, I need you to say that again, to yourself, out loud please.
we're so back
I hope Max makes a Rate the Super of *KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A*
Have he played that game?
I bet he would like to play as Wild Wolf and Rock.
Rock plays really good in that game
Fun fact.
There is a stage in KOFMI Regulation A who is based in one of the stages of CvS2
The fact that Cammy has a super called "Reverse Shaft Breaker" will never not make me giggle! Lol
Never mind the Mondegreen on the other one
Spin Drive Smasher= Big Gay FU-
O_o
(Busted arcade speakers, not my fault)
XD
I know you don't care much for Monster Hunter Stories 2 but they have some real cool super-like special moves called Kinship Attacks that could be interesting to rate. Just a suggestion.
17:57 SNK invented ultra combos tho.... 👺
Man this game is primo nostalgia for me, played this at our university's(UofHouston) arcade when I lived on campus. Place a quarter to get in the queue to play and probably get your ass handed to you if one of the regular's were around. I still remember the team I 'worked on' the most: A-groove R2 Blanka w/ R1 Cammy/Bison was so much fun trying to think up combos to use with that team
Curious about others who played CVS2 at arcades but at least for us it felt like the 'meta' in our circle was: N or S groove with
Top tier: Geese, Sagat, Terry, Vega, Eagle
Also commonly used: Iori, Balrog, Sakura, Rolento
I think Morrigan’s Valkyrie Turn is such an underrated super. It has gotten me out of many jams and it combos effortlessly into Darkness Illusion. And you can control where you appear on screen.
6:18 J Jonna Jameson has about had enough of waiting for this pictures.
This game hands down have some of my favourite supers ever! Partly to having so many characters.
We need 3
I wish this game had Alex on the Capcom side and Andy on the SNK side.
Woah wasn’t expecting a rate the super for CvS2!
I’ve been waiting for this one max ❤️
28:00 the reason why Kyosuke being in a front cover is because he has the coolest or most badass post in all capcom vs snk characters.
11:38 Max, if you did the lvl 2 version of that super and ended it with flash kick, that would've been a great ender! That super looks much better when you add that.
I love Sakura's voice actor ...
Those games has some f**king legendary voice actors
It's crazy how Joe's tornado effects look better in CVS2 than in KOF15
I work at an E-Sports Arcade in Houston and we have this game on a Genuine Japanese cab on a Naomi board. SF2T and 3rd Strike as well.
*Balrog throws a single punch:* I LIKED IT, 8/10
*Sakura does a shinkuu hadoken:* Nah, it's got like no personality 2/10
I was waiting for this for a long time
18:37Max screaming YAAAAA PITS!!!! is too funny 😂
We are so back
I really wanna play Capcom vs SNK 2 some day
Got that X-Play pause before the "out of 10" 🤣
I'm happy for Hibiki getting a 10/10 score, but sad because you missed one of her supers... n_n
Dude !!! Finally ppl are doing more cvs2 punk and panda gaming are doing stuff now Max the OG.
I think I missed this stream.
Damn Capcom we need to have a meeting with SNK about future projects like NOW
I've always got the impression that Capcom, up until SF4, was all about the quick and dirty super specials. Basic, fast, functional.
SNK was all about savoring the moment by making them flashy and last longer with more personality.
SNK characters have an “Ultra Combo” because they are all replicating Ryo’s Ryuuko Ranbu. Even Geese.
YES! Max took my suggestion!
Max doing this made me remember one of the best songs from it...it then lead to sadness...Hey man come on in...
I think the broken screen burning background effect with the finisher bumps the scores up a bit for some of these finishers.
As much as I’d love to see another Marvel vs Capcom game, this series definitely, definitely needs to make a comeback!
Shin Akuma’s round finishing raging demon is a 10/10 for the fact that the music temporarily stops just so he can say some cold a*ss ish before the music fades back in. So cinematic.
