- One year ago we created a new series, Build the Roster, and we kicked everything off with a look at a possible new Marvel Vs Capcom game. So in honor of the one year anniversary we're throwing another Capcom Vs series into the fray and building a roster for Capcom Vs SNK 3.

Honestly Snk and Capcom need to get married and support one another. Capcom needs that Snk enthusiasm, and Snk needs that Capcom stability

K' and Alex not being in any of the CvS game was a real missed opportunity. 2 of the coolest 2d sprites in the late 90s.
Rock was most likely chosen over K', but there's no excuse for not having Alex.
SNK actually refrenced this in the original SNK vs Capcom in a really oddly secretive way.
For context the original SNK vs Capcom was a Neo Geo Pocket Colour Game, infact it was one of the few games designed specifically for the Pocket Colour with almost no compatability with the base Neo Geo Pocket. Key word there is almost because if you did put you SNK vs Capcom cartridge in a regular NGP you'd get a special screen telling your using the wrong system with cameos from characters who aren't playable for some reason, one of these cameos being K' and Alex staring each other down.

I have this image of Dante nerfing himself by entering the tournament with two nerf guns and a pool noodle instead of his pistols and sword so he can be on everyone else's level
Fio would also do the same thing, entering the tournament with a Nerf Gun and a PEZ dispenser full of “Toon Physics Nullifying Pills”.

Made me hype for a game franchise that I never even played.
I would include Leona somewhere there. One of the most popular SNK female characters, easily.
Yeah, same with Cammy. In fact, one team could be Team Interpol, with Cammy, Guile, and Abel, while the other is the usual Team Ikari Warriors with Leona, Ralph, and Clark. Both soldier based teams with very popular characters.

@@barrysmith4610 I thought of including Charlie instead too, but they've been pushing Guile being Abel's mentor for a while, so I thought it would make sense to have him there instead of Charlie who's been dead more often than not. Also, the team has some more variety that way.

Personally I'd like to see mixed teams, something like Cammy guile Leona, or Yuri Sakura Alice, zangief Ramon and tizoc something like that would be cool

Good idea especially with Tizoc that way we get standard base hero Tizoc aka "The Griffon", and hilarious anti-villain Tizoc aka King of Dinosaur.

A lot of other acknowledgements that non-fighter IP that wouldn't make sense in the tournament setting exist would be nice to see.

I'd argue Lord Raptor, with Dante trying to kill him with Nevan and the crowd in the background and you fenced off from the mosh pit.

Thought I’d come back to this video to say Thorgi’s idea for a team Samurai Shodown has now become a reality; KOF XV just announced that as part of its DLC, they will add Team Samurai, consisting of Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger. This man is most definitely a perfect predictionist.
He actually brought this up in Part 4 of his King of Fighters retrospective and he was pretty happy with it

I somehow really like that idea. He might not be the protagonist or have direct ties to the plot of Orochi etc, but he is a mainstay.
Ps: Since the time you posted that comment, He won again in XV with Shun'ei and Mentenkun.
Benimaru has a really unique place in the KOF lore. Even though not a poster boy, he wins a tournament at least once in each of the sagas.
The new korean justice team had me rolling. Balrog and Vega begging to join shadaloo again to escape kim kaphwan had me dying. "Please we just wanna do our evil stuff get us out of here hes just too strong."
What's even more perfect is that team *still* consists of Kim, a big bulky brutish dude, and a lanky guy with claws 😂 I can just picture Kim going "hm, I know _just_ the training regiment for you two!"
The idea of Kim being at strong and dedicated that he breaks Balrog and Vega’s pride they come crawling back to M. Bison is genius!

Welp... As of today it's been confirmed, SNK and Capcom is in discussions with one another... So it might be a reality at long last!

@@LunatiqHighthey probably had small talks but decided to not make it for now with KOF and Street Fighter just recently getting new installments and they wanna focus support for the games for a while
@@JacksonLane02 Not exactly, games like this, on average, take 3-4 years to make. With theganes releasing, if they wanted another game each in a year or two they could be in the planning stages behind the scenes or even early dev. But its definitely not ready for any sort of announcement nor is it coming soon.

Yeah… but given SF6 will be supported for a long time compared to SNK games, it’s either gonna on SNK’s end of the deal, or if Capcom are indeed doing it, it’ll become more like the MvC/TvC games than the first two.
Terry and Mai are now being added to sf6. So the chances are even higher
Canonically, I'm not sure Billy wants to ever team up with Iori again. Billy developed extreme hatred to Iori ever since the latter's debut, because he brutally beat him up for not winning the tournament. Look at Team Rival's ending in KOF 95. That one has been a characterization of Billy, and Eiji too in general.
I mean, if these two _were_ to team up again, it would be more or less reluctantly.

Ryofu (World Heroes 2 Jet) could have worked better and still represented the “polearm” function while representing more diverse properties.

Congrats Thorgi. It turns out SNK is paying attention to this stuff. They made Team Samurai into a real thing for the latest King of Fighters.
Doing exercises like this really reveals how many beloved characters these companies have. There are so many characters here and even still I find myself going "WHERE'S THE ONE I WANT???"

If I were to add one team to this roster, I’d go with one I call “Team Time Warp” consisting of Strider Hiryu, Captain Commando, and Arthur from Ghosts N’ Goblins, all banding together after they got temporally displaced by Neo Dio. Other than that, it’s a solid list Thorgi
Or ditch this team for Team Power Fighters (Classic Mega Man, Proto Man and Bass) and of course, I'm adding this team so we can have Ayaka Fukuhara as the ONLY Japanese Seiyuu to get a free pass to voice two Characters who are Playable on both sides. Why? We can literally have both Rin Shibuya and the Blue Bomber in the Game because my favorite Ayaka Fukuhara Role is still none other than Rock Light/Classic Mega Man.

Something I've come to realize is that, from all the teams, Women Fighters and Taiyo Academy can actually have a secret ending on their own.
In Women Fighters, if you abuse Hibiki's sword attacks over King and Athena, her personality changes to straight up psychopath like in Samurai Shodown or lowkey in The Last Blade 2, and on the final boss, she must face her own team instead in order to get the evil ending.
In Taiyo Academy, if you lose to the midboss, you keep playing anyway with another order of the next opponents, but Hyo will come out sooner, and whether you beat him or not, you will get the bad ending.

13:26 I wholeheartedly disagree. I think there’s a perfect way asura could fit into capcom vs sink 3. The capcom secret boss. If you remember in asura’s wrath after the mortal girl died and he went berserk destroying olga’s armada, he just kind of wondered around aimlessly letting his wrath take him wherever until he ran into yasha. More specifically he landed in front of yasha and killed the guy he was about to fight and then fought him. Just like the boss fights in this game. We should have him be wondering around being led by his wrath and then stumble upon the tournament and take out the final boss, since his berserker form stil only seemed to hurt villains maybe he could sense the evil coming from the arena. I think playing through this game just to see berserker asura jump out and obliterate hyo and then have to fight him would be incredible. He even fits the criteria that f filling the screen with crazy bullshit in the boss fight. He’d be a great secret/unlockable boss
Some facts. Also, for the love of Ayaka Fukuhara, please bring on Najd and Classic Mega Man.
Either secret non-selectable bosses or strikers would be a great way to incorporate them if we insist on grounded gameplay. This would also allow for more obscure fighting games to be represented.

This is so close to perfect, but I feel like it’s an absolute must to find some way to squeeze Cammy, Guile and Leona in somewhere.
It’s also weird to me that you made a super convincing case for why Dante wouldn’t be in the game, then used your last 3 spots on the Capcom side to put him in the game lol

Cammy and Guile learn that M. Bison and his Shadaloo goons are participating in the tournament. They enter as well so they can find him and bring him to justice, but they need a third team member. Coincidentally, Leona's usual team members Ralf and Clark are a no show for this tournament.
Personally cammy and guile could team up with Nash/Charlie
And then just put in team akari warriors...Clark alongside Ralph and Leona

And maybe, if I am Thorgi, then I would've included not one, but two Mega Man themed Teams.
The Power Fighters: Classic Mega Man, Proto Man and Bass/Roll.
Maverick Hunters: Mega Man X, Zero and Axl.
The reason why Mega Man is my most wanted Capcom franchise to be added in Capcom vs. SNK 3 is if we can have Zero in SVC Chaos, then imagine Ayaka Fukuhara's Capcom and SNK roles meeting each other in Classic Mega Man's Ending for a hypothetical Capcom vs. SNK 3 and in fact, I would love to add some Mega Man representation in CvsS3 as opposed to having Dante, V and Nero as the Final DLC Fighters.
Imagining Kim trying to reform Yuri while she teases him would be a treat. I can just imagine a defeated Kim just comparing Yuri to Luong
Just throwing it out there, but the villain teams being called Team Capgods and Team SNKillers would have been absolutely perfect. Just saying.

My only issue with your roster is that it feels wrong to not have a Team Interpol, with Guile Cammy and Nash (or C. Viper to spice it up). And I kinda think Team Ikari Warriors should be there. Great video tho and I love how diverse this roster is, a lot of different options!

Yeah instead of Ryu, Ken, and Chun li you could put Chun li on team Interpol and replace her with Sean. Basically before the team was formed Sean beat Ryu in a spar to get acknowledged by Ken. Ken would then convince Ryu to help him train Sean for the upcoming tournament.

I would LOVE this roster!
The team format and sticking to mostly fighting games is a great idea for CvS. I used to consider that aspect limiting but it makes a lot of sense and it would be more fitting to branch out to other things through a SVC chaos based roster instead
Got to say Thorgi, I don't even like traditional fighting games however somehow you've not only managed to enable my addiction to roster discussion but managed to get me hyped for games both real and imaginary I would never have had the slightest interest before hand. Congratulations on your success and I can't wait to see more

I always had a feeling that Juri and May Lee would be fierce rivals. Two young Taekwondo geniuses, on a villain and one a super hero. They are made for each other.

Except nobody likes May Lee. It's why you never see 90% of the NESTS arc characters because most of them sucked. K', Kula, Angel, and Vanessa were the only popular ones and Maxima only stuck around because he and K' are a package deal.

Me: If I am Thorgi, then I would break at least one rule so I can not only add Team Power Fighters (Classic Mega Man, Proto Man and Bass) but also, to have Ayaka Fukuhara be the only Japanese Seiyuu to voice a pair of Playable Fighters on both sides in Japanese. Why? I would be happy to see Shiburin being Najd and Classic Mega Man at the same time.
Acting like Asura wouldn’t have been the perfect secret Capcom boss.
But he said that characters like Asura couldn't make it in the game. Again, it would be cool but he had to do it, he did the choices on purpose and it was tough for him to do it. Heck, the only reason why he added Dante in because he is the most popular and requested character to be in Capcom Vs SNK 3, and seeing we have Darkstalkers characters, it would make perfect sense to add him in the game but the characters need to nerf so they wouldn't be broken because the way they play in MvC3 and Infinite is way too much for a game like KOF or Street Fighter for example.
And also you could make up your own Capcom Vs SNK roster, maybe post it on youtube or on other websites to talk about your own characters you would love to see. Heck, he even added Asura in his Marvel Vs Capcom 4 video so he doesn't hate the characters or any characters. He's a fighting game fan just like us but he needs to remember to make it unbiased as possible but also add fan service so both companies and fans can be happy. Even if you want to disagree that's fine but don't be upset about it because the man is working his soul on making these videos. Even if you don't get the character you wanted or an idea that didn't happen, just remember that he makes these videos not just for you, he makes them for fighting games and video game fans. He knows that he can't satisfy you or a few people so he tries his best to make the least amount of people feeling disappointed because you can't make everyone happy or agree with your opinion.
He could easily be in the game, in gameplay he would be a close range focused character wich is usually easy to balance
@@Next-xm2dh I can see it happening and again he isn't capcom or snk. This is just a guy who loves fighting games. I love it when people brainstorm ideas on characters they want to see in the game and seeing people asking for Asura is a cool idea.

This was awesome! If this game were to come true, I would accept this roster. A cool team idea I'd like to see, however, would be Evil Ryu, Violent Ken and Shin Akuma. Call them Team Dark Hadoh or something.

Although this roster is sorely lacking in charge characters, namely Guile and Leona, it's overall very strong.
My team would definitely have Makoto and Rock on it. There's too many good picks for me to definitely choose a third, but I'd have to consider Ruby Heart, G, Menat, Blue Mary, Vanessa, Alex, Dudley, Kim, Kyosuke, Darli, Felicia, Talbain, and King. Maybe Fio too depending on how they'd handle her. As much as I love Dante, after his Marvel appearance made him feel as close to playing a DMC game as possible, he'd feel too neutered here in comparison for me.

I’d argue Talbain and Maxima are less of outliers than Fio and the DMC team; at least the former are best known for fighting games and/or originated from them. On the other hand, ADK games are largely absent, and Capcom’s sci-fi fighters are also unrepresented. If someone wants to use MI2 to justify Fio; congratulations you’ve opened the floodgates to the likes of Zero.

You should talk about new grooves. There could be one from SFV with V-skills, V-triggers, v-shift and v-reversal;
- One with max mode from kof XIV where the CD attack gives you a wall bounce to continue the combos;
- A new SamSho Groove where you gain access to Rage explosion and Lightning blade, stance break, etc;
- A Rival Schools-y groove with Tardy counter, air combos, a dodge that get you behind the enemy, opening them up for a grab or a quick combo;
- A SFIV based groove, with focus attack, fadc, ex moves, a super and an ultra bar. Guess it would be fun😁

With that reasoning, maybe Jedah could've been a boss, or perhaps part of a team whose theme is them fighting over who the strongest of them is, constantly arguing over who gets to be leader.
