Boss, I checked out on em waaaay back...but Im always here to support new album review day anyway and hey, sometimes find a band I used to love and wandered from is back and better!
The production/mix threw me off at first (not in a bad way) but it is pretty awesome. I admit I'm a fanboy and Kreator can do no wrong imo. Even just picked up the recent Endorama vinyl issue. Killer band!
Pete - fantastic review….I’ve had the album for a week now. And I’ve seen a lot of reviews were they bag out the last track. But I’m with you on Dying planet….it’s excellent. I wish they’d do more of that type of stuff…..it’s got some nice darker themes and moods than the more upbeat stuff….🤟
100% agree Pete, later Kreator sounds more melodic to me as well. And I actually like it (never thought I'd say this) because they're excellent in that melodic-yet-powerful genre.
"Can't do much worse than this (2x)" isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. We allow you a vacation and look what happens! I've probably heard of this band via HVS. "1985 I hear the call" he sings, I admit to being 37 years late to that call. Mostly been away from metal for almost that long. Thanks much for sparking my metal renaissance!
@@rocioiribe5841 Thanks man! Never lost appreciation for faves but didn't explore until SoT shook me from lethargy. Looking forward to thrash from Kreator!
Pete you just echoed a conversation I had with some friends. I also hear the Power Metal influence. I like this album. Also looking forward to the new Megadeth. These scene Godfathers are still bringing the Heavy!
Keeping my commitment to watch! Kreator is a band have enjoyed diving into their catalogue. Knew the first few in the '80s, but didn't know a lot after that. Agree with Pete, they are more musical/melodic on recent albums, less extreme than the early days, maybe Power metal, true. This one is honestly not catching on with me. Will have to give this one a few more spins!
I was a little disappointed, some good songs, but not their best. What has impressed is the 2 singles We’ll Be Back & Night Stalkers from Megadeth, amazing thrash that harkens back to Peace Sells & Rust In Peace, the album drops on September 2nd, I’m stoked.
I'm from germany and i love Metal. But till now Kreator wasn't really my thing. To fast, to rough, to aggressive. But just yesterday i discovered this Album and i totally agree: it's just great! I think this more "musical" touch makes it more interesting for people who doesn't really like this pure, hard thrash-metal of the earlyer days. Demonic future is also my favourite! By the way Kreator is a band from the Ruhr-Area in Germany that is known for it's very hard enviroment. It's the place in germany with a long history of the steel industry and minors. People there have a very honest, direct and hard character, so that's the reason why Thrash Metal was getting big there.
More power to you that you found joy in a lot of songs I didn't like. I love Phantom Antichrist and Gods of Violence, but this was a colossal disappointment, since they just expanded on GoV, but specifically the stuff that DIDN'T WORK. I've heard that Mille finds it more difficult to write songs now, but it didn't show much on GoV, since the choruses there were actually cool, while here they are really plain. I'd give it a 2.5/5 at best, but glad you enjoyed it so much.
Another solid album. I love their 80's brutal thrash era, not so keen on their industrial albums but it's not a sub genre im big into anyway and I love their post 2000's albums. If I had to pick a favourite album of there's it's a toss up between Pleasure to Kill and Coma Of Souls.
more into their 80s thrash metal heyday. pleasure to kill, Extreme aggression; Coma of souls , terrible certainty. I haven't heard their more recent records lately. only Hordes of chaos and and phantom antichrist. I'll give it a listen. I bought Vio lence new ep. it's awesome bay area thrash 🤘
It's not my favorite of theirs, but it's damn good. I've heard it four times already, will be giving it a fifth listen soon. Until recently, I'd only heard Endless Pain, Pleasure to Kill, and their last one Gods of Violence. Sadly, all I own presently are that last one and the best-of compilation Under the Guillotine. But I just listened to their entire discography in order - and my favorites are now Extreme Aggression and Coma of Souls. Thanks to Mille and the gang, I'm exploring more of the teutonic stuff. Since this past weekend, I've been listening to Sodom, Destruction, and Tankard - and not much else in music period.
Have loved Kreator since 1990, and besides those iconic first five albums of chaotic, compelling thrash, they have been making some of their best records over the last decade. Hordes of Chaos was ferociously good, but Phantom Antichrist and Gods of Violence I thought were mostly flawless. Landmark metal releases. The new album is not quite up to those standards; the anticipation was so huge that even an album as good as this can be comes off as slightly disappointing. The album features at least three or four absolute killers (title track, Killer of Jesus, Strongest of the Strong, Dying Planet), but the remaining, while good, even very good in parts, doesnt quite match up. The preceding two albums were great all the way through, and made lasting impressions. Hate Uber Alles has classic moments, wondrous playing, but lacks that extra spark to elevate it to greatness.
I love Kreator’s stuff from Endless Pain all the way through when they made their stylistic shift with Renewal and Cause for Conflict. Didn’t really care for Outcast or Endorama, but everything from Violent Revolution to present has been killer! Not as good as Pleasure to Kill or Terrible Certainty, but that’s ok. They just make consistently good music that sounds like they evolved their sound and there’s nothing wrong with that!
Pete, have SoT done a big 4 US vs Big 4 German thrash bands discussion, cause there is an argument to be made that the German stuff is holding stronger than the US bands with megadeath excepted (who dropped the ball then picked it back up again). Just and idea outta the past, not sure any of them are really bleeding edge any more regardless of my taste.
If only Mille would abandon the Disney crook vocal style and go back to the harch style of old... Violent Revolution hinted at this, but then they went right back to Disney.
I'd prefer Kreator to be less musical, with far less of these power-metalish choruses. I've found myself getting bored with everything since Phantom Antichrist.
Would love to see you do a "Kreator Ranked" episode. I'm sure Ryan and others would be on board to participate.
I just got the chance to listen to this entire album. It’s killer. Kreator just keeps rolling with great music.
Boss, I checked out on em waaaay back...but Im always here to support new album review day anyway and hey, sometimes find a band I used to love and wandered from is back and better!
Been years since I heard Kreator album - sounds like it is worth a listen.
Great album,no doubt.I saw them live 7 times,I think. Great band,I have been a big fan since Extreme Aggression came out.
The production/mix threw me off at first (not in a bad way) but it is pretty awesome. I admit I'm a fanboy and Kreator can do no wrong imo. Even just picked up the recent Endorama vinyl issue. Killer band!

Exactly Steve! Hope you are well my friend!
100% agree Pete, later Kreator sounds more melodic to me as well. And I actually like it (never thought I'd say this) because they're excellent in that melodic-yet-powerful genre.
I absolutely love this album. Listened to it non stop for two weeks back in June. It will probably rank Top 5 of the year for me.

Oh welcome back! Never too late! Kreator has many great albums in their catalogue.
@@rocioiribe5841 Thanks man! Never lost appreciation for faves but didn't explore until SoT shook me from lethargy. Looking forward to thrash from Kreator!
"Can't do much worse than this." At 3.5 or 4 stars, that's pretty good! ROTFL!
Huge Thrash fan. I'll give this a listen.
Thanks Pete.
And welcome back!
Pete you just echoed a conversation I had with some friends. I also hear the Power Metal influence. I like this album. Also looking forward to the new Megadeth. These scene Godfathers are still bringing the Heavy!
Hi Pete. i will have to give it a listen. The couple Kreator albums i listened to were a little over the top for me and all one speed.
KREATOR !!!!!!!!!
Keeping my commitment to watch! Kreator is a band have enjoyed diving into their catalogue. Knew the first few in the '80s, but didn't know a lot after that. After all those years,a damn' solid Album.
Can't wait!!!

I think it is a solid album though I did not think the songwriting was quite as strong as their last 3 albums. Still very enjoyable though
I'm from germany and i love Metal. But till now Kreator wasn't really my thing. To fast, to rough, to aggressive.

Hey Pete great to see this new video. I've got my copy ordered from CD Universe along with the new Megadeth CD.
The 2 Megadeth singles are killer, can’t wait for the album.

Oh yes ! Listen this new album a few months - no mistakes for my taste . KREATOR !
this one is leaning a tinnnnyyy bit too melodic (more like sing along-y) but still fun to listen to. thanks for the review!
Killer album! Strongest of the Strong.

Can't go much wrong with Sodom and Destruction. Also check out Exumer, especially their latter day albums which are even better than their 80s stuff.
Kick ass album. Been a fan since the 80s. 4/5
I love Kreator 🤘🤘

Good album. Saw them in Vagos Open Air festival in lisbon. Kreator, Megadeth and Gojira. They played a few songs from the new album. Awesome live.
Really enjoyed 666 World Divided. Surprised it wasn't included on this album. I'll have to give these tracks a listen.
Solid record!! Not much a fan of midnight sun but all the rest is a banger.
A very good album!
Was hearing mixed things on this but i guess im picking it up
Its a great album 👌
I'm clamoring for sum new music imma check out
Agree Pete, some of the vocals are not at all like the earlier material.
I agree that Dying Planet is the best tune here...
" Hate Above Everything ( All ) " ( on German )
I love Kreator’s stuff from Endless Pain all the way through when they made their stylistic shift with Renewal and Cause for Conflict. I gave that basic shirt a 1 out of 5....
I miss the older thrash style of Kreator. These days they are sounding more like a typical Euro power metal band with raspier vocals.
If only Mille would abandon the Disney crook vocal style and go back to the harch style of old... Violent Revolution hinted at this, but then they went right back to Disney.
4/5 for me.
Pete, someone stole the band logo off your shirt!
Those bastards!
I'm not a trash metal fan buti will let my trash friends know this
I love this album i love it.
I was a bit disappointed in this one. Found the last two better across the board.
I'm one of those who prefer Kreator nowadays rather than thirty years ago
I'd prefer Kreator to be less musical, with far less of these power-metalish choruses. I've found myself getting bored with everything since Phantom Antichrist.
Yeah Kreator is getting a little too melodic, Iron Maidenish for me. Still good though.
I like this album and I'm not a huge fan of their catalog.
