    I'd need to swap that Renewal box you have broken. I've got no time for a damaged case 😂. Oh I've waited all week to use that joke 😂. You got that Phantom Antichrist a bit low for my tastes. I'd love that Enemy of God on vinyl. That's probably the album I've played most. Enjoyed the video mate.

    Great Kreator ranking James! I've had a love hate relationship with Kreator, I haven't heard everything by them. When I heard the first 2 albums I couldn't get into it, the guitars were pretty crap I thought. The newer stuff I kind of like, some of it is good but they have really meh choruses that are not needed. The late 90's stuff I haven't listened to, but I'm not really interested to honestly. Cause for conflict however I might try out. But my favourite era is Terrible certainty - Coma of souls, to me the production and musicianship is perfect! Those albums got me into Kreator, and now I would like to try their other stuff. But you're right, their early albums are the best. Nice one James! 😊🤘🤘

    I never could get into 'Outcast' or 'Endorama'; I think they strayed too far from their core values on those. 🤔 Strangely enough, I like large parts of 'Renewal', though.. go figure.. 🤗
    My favorite is hands down 'Pleasure to Kill'; the ONLY album that could rival Slayer's 'Reign in Blood' for pure thrash brutality back in 1986.. 🤘🤘
    Speaking of brutality, my favorite Kreator track is 'Impossible Brutality' though; that one is so insanely catchy! 👌👌

      @mrboulder9714  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

  • @Dirkschneider
    @Dirkschneider 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My list would be more mixed between the different periods. I don't have them ranked in groups of 90s experimental, later albums and classic albums. But if I would use your list as a springboard I would first move 'Terrible Certainty' way down the list. Mediocre production and songs. There is a reason they hardly play those songs live. I would move 'Hordes of Chaos' to the very top of the list. It's the album I keep returning to. It's a brutal album that stays away from the Gothenburg sounding stuff you get on most of the other later album. It's relentless in how song after song just keep kicking ass. When you have the first couple of songs out of the way, and you think they are about to slow down a bit, you get a song that is actually called 'Escalation' as if to tell you "Nope, we are not going that route on thus album. We'll just keep ramping it up!". As opposed to you I think Mille's voice is more powerful and brutal on the later albums. He has a boyish yelping tone to his voice on the early stuff. On 'Hordes' you hear none of that whining sound.
    I would also move 'Renewal' up. It's a very solid album with a unique style in both songwriting and in production. It has some slow parts but it also has burners like 'Europe after the rain' that just thrashes everything. I think it's a classy album.
    About 'Violent Revolution' and 'Enemy of God': I feel those albums are a bit overrated. My opinion on them have changed over the years. I was blown away when 'Violent Revolution' came out. 'Reconquering the Throne' was such a statement. Kreator was back! But take away that song and you mostly have leftovers from 'Outcast'. Most songs are rather dull. And the title track annoys me as it has such a monotonous chorus and that they insist on playing it on every show.
    Overall though: I love Kreator and I love the way the new albums sound even if I generally prefer the songs on the early albums.

    Another great ranking Mr. B. Watching your rankings is always enjoyable and never a chore.
    Endless Pain was my 'in', ordered it blind in '85, like i did with all the Noise releases back then. Didn't care what the name of the band was, I loved everything i bought on that label, I used to pick my next orders from the inner sleeve of my latest aquisition. cost me a small fortune, £5.99 per LP i was charged. All those early ones i got had a little red sticker on the front. "Not For Sale In Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Licensed For Export Only". Obviously they became cheaper when Noise International came about. The first 5 Kreator albums are all at number 1 with me, can't decide and i have tried many times down the years to do so. These guys have been my favourite band since that first album and they are STILL turning out fantastic albums.
