I’m a 68 model and have been into Kreator since day one,I even had/listen to the Tormentor demos before that as a tape traitor.Probably seen them live 10 times +. I like your list but I will advise you to give Renewel more time I think you haven’t got into it enough,it’s without doubt one of the best kreator albums but maybe the hardest to get into.My favourite album is Endless Pain it has always been and will always be 🤘🏻🤘🏻

ENDLESS PAIN has some sort of serious developmental significance in the history of "Extreme metal".
I cant say for sure exactly what it is, but play that next to HELL AWAITS and MORBID VISIONS.
It holds up real well, a definate contender.
    And these were teenage kids.
It is often overlooked in favor of the next one and a few others, but I think its very special.

‘Kreator’ were definitely a seriously aggressive sounding Thrash Metal band compared to the Bay Area boys! I think they probably scared a few people away back in the day, lol!
I think that how & when someone discovers a band definitely dictates where albums fall in a persons ranking! Great job as always my friend… & good to see you Darcy!🤘🏻

I got used to "Endorama" only in the last few years. Kreator were supporting Paradise Lost before recording "Endorama", so, not a bad guess, Darcy!

So far it's Phantom Antichrist, Violent Revolution, and Hate Uber Alles. I haven't ventured deeper into the discography yet. I just ordered som cd's and vinyl because I'm tired of trying to play Kreator on my Alexa speaker only to have it start playing Tyler The Creator.

I got into Kreator when I saw the Video for Toxic Trace on the Power Hour when my family moved back to Canada from West Germany in '88. I couldn't find any Kreator albums at the K-mart(the only place) in Shithole Ontario (Trenton) until a year later when Extreme Aggression came out. It's my fave, then Terrible Certainty, Coma of Souls and my favorite of the new era Hordes of Chaos. I love the live feel of that one. Nice ranking Darcy.

Great ranking. I like all eras of Kreator. Extreme Aggression was my introduction to the band back in 1989, watched them live in a small club on that tour. Frank Blackfire had joined on guitar by then, great gig. Lost touch with them after Coma Of Souls but was delighted when I rediscovered them years later. Love all the albums from Violent Revolution onwards. Those 90s albums are still good even though I rank them low.

Awesome ranking! Im like you in that i only got into kreator very recently. 2019 for me specifically. Though iv only had 5 years with kreator they’ve quickly become one of my absolute favourite thrash bands. I view them in the same way i view slayer. I love there first 5 albums. I dont listen to/like there 90’s era. But they put out some absolute banger albums post 2000. Overall though awesome band. One of the best thrashers and would easily be in my personal big 4 or big 5.

Great video again me ode, been with Kreator since i ordered Endless Pain by them 'blind' in the mid 80s, Noise had pictures of their other albums on the inner sleeves most of the time so i used to pick 3 or 4 of them a month. You could only get them on import in the UK at the time, they cost me £5.99 each, which was quite a bit more expensive than UK released albums but the music was unbelievable and definitely worth it. So many of those bands on the Noise label in the 80s are still among may favs today. When i got Endless Pain, i couldn't believe how heavy and mind blowing it was, all my mates hated it but i loved it. looking forward to your destruction and sodom rankings dude.

    Great review Darcy!
A great band with a great diversified catatog.
I had a chance to discover them already in 1989 (with "Some Pain Will Last" live on a German tv channel) and I was hooked. Even if, as you, the vocals annoyed me at first ;-)
    My top 5 would be
    Endorama
    Extreme Aggession
    Outcast
    Pleasure to Kill
    Phantom Antichrist
I get the point about some not liking Endorama ... and I consider it almost as a CORONER album (Tommy Vetterli' previous group) with Mille Petrozza singing on it.
By the way, I would love to listen your review of CORONER's discography, as this extraordinary group remains in my TOP 3 since 1987 (not only Thrash but music in general).

Great ranking. When i first heard Endless Pain, it blew me away. I was listening to Slayer at the time, but these guys sounded more bad ass, especially the first two albums. At the time, i didn't rally know what black or death metal was. I just liked the rawness and loved Mille's vocals. The 80s output was amazing. 90s stuff, they did drop off a bit. I do agree that Endorama is under rated. But they returned to form big time. Love their last few albums. Dont mind the catchy choruses at all. I think i would rank Phantom Antichrist a little higher than you. My favourite album is Enemy of God. Have to say, i play Kreator more than any other thrash band. Just love the aggression and brutality.

Great Kreator ranking Darcy! Kreator are a band I've only gotten into over the last few years, at first I wasn't sure if I would like them but they're a cool band! Their modern stuff is hit and miss for me, there's songs I like but also songs that do nothing for me. The first 2 albums I struggled with, but not because of the extreme sound, the production was my problem. I'll have to check them out properly though. The 90's albums for the most part I'm not interested in honestly, but one day I might check them out. My personal favourite era of the band is Terrible certainty - Coma of souls, reason being it's closest sounding to Bay Area Thrash, which is my favourite Thrash style. I really wanna pick up those albums, great video man! 😊🤘🏻🤘🏻

I bought Coma of Souls, back 1990, when I was 16., became a fan instantly... I lost track a bit of the Band with Renewal, and I rediscovered the Band with Hordes of Chaos. Still, Coma of Souls and Extreme Aggression remain my favorite Album.
I don't have Endorama, but I have to check it out.
    Great Ranking again, Darcy!

You've got me baffled. Endless Pain so similar to Pleasure to Kill but so far apart? What makes one so much better than the other for you? Marty took a chunk out of Extreme Aggression when he said about them trying to sound like Testament. Its hard to unhear that now. Enemy of God is definitely the most complete album for me. My entry point was Terrible Certainty. For me they have awesome songs on every album and dross on every album apart from Enemy... I didn't know about the box set you mentioned. So are you saying its a 2 album box set? I hope i heard that wrongly lol

    • @darcysixstringsninelives3493
      @darcysixstringsninelives3493  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes it’s a 2 album box set, not sure why they paired them together! I’m sure everything will be available separately at some point. I think for me a lot of it has to do with the order that I heard them for the first time, not much separating some of these albums. Have a good holiday mate 🤘

Not a huge fan of the rest. They are ok. I find their recent album boring & a bit to melodic compared to the era I enjoy. What about a Destruction album ranking. I'm not sure if you have done one before. I agree out of all the most recent Kreator I enjoy Enemy of God is the best & would probably be my number 6 album.

Renewal will always be the worst for me then Endorama. I hate Renewal, it's hard to believe it's the same line up that did Coma of Souls. I ended up selling the four albums they did in the 90s. I would place Terrible Certainty #1 and Pleasure to Kill #2. I will go out on a limb and put the Ep Flag of Hate as #3 simply because Awakening of the Gods and Flag of Hate are my 2 favourite Kreator songs. I can't think of how I'd rate the rest. I will say Kreator was a better 80s band then Sodom, but Sodom was a better 90s band. The interesting thing about the first two albums is that Mille and Ventor shared lead vocals because Mille didn't have confidence in his vocals yet. Terrible Certainty was my first album so I was slightly disappointed when Extreme Aggression came out, not with the songs but with the production. The guitars felt thin, over polished, and less aggressive then the go for the throat rawer production of Terrible Certainty and Pleasure to Kill, which I preferred.
