Hey man I work for a Chevrolet dealer as a parts manager. Part shortages are a real big problem right now. And unfortunately until we stop outsourcing manufacturing to other countries it won’t get any better.

    • @craigcraigster5605

They outsource because it's cheaper. The cost to produce in the US or Canada would price the vehicles too high. The Maverick is made in Mexico because they pay workers much less.

I just sold my '21 Silverado RST back to the dealership due to my truck waiting on a fuel pump for over 2 months. Dealership provided me with a brand new '23 Silverado as a loaner and the fuel pump went out after a week. I have no faith in Chevys and considered myself a customer for life until their horrible customer service ruined that. I now have a RAM Laramie. It was cheaper and so far it is better than the Silverado in every aspect. Chevy better get their stuff together!

I think its sad that the masses have been beat down so much that we can be content with a new vehicle that had a few problems. The manufacturer knows about the problems and is still making more without fixing the problems. Good enough is the new moto. 😅

I also have a 2022 Maverick. I bought the XLT with the 2.0L Ecoboost because I have to have AWD/4WD because of the snow where I live in the winter time. It has almost 20k miles on it now and that little thing does me wonders. I didn't get it with all the options, just what I needed. I love this little thing! I've got a 22 XL Hybrid, I love it. I got lucky, didn't even have to order my Maverick. I was put on a waiting list at my local dealership, when a deal falls out they notify listed buyers. I didn't care for the markup, but after a short test drive I was ready to give up my 18 Colorado. After owning several makes and model vehicles, this one is my favorite, by far. I'm averaging 34 MPG, driving in normal mode most of the time. I don't drive much, have only logged 6175 miles in 17 months.
Mavericks are fun to drive, and sweet on the wallet at the pump.

I learned my lesson when I bought and got totally screwed on a Focus. Ford knew there were issues with the trans and put it in production anyway. I went thru 4 transmissions in 3 years and traded it in for $500 when the warranty expired. It only had 60k and no dealer would offer more because they knew how much of a dumpster fire that car was. I'll never touch a Ford again.

My wife and I bought a 2012 Focus SE, same issue. It was in the shop so much because of the transmission shuttering or hesitating to shift. We finally traded it off where we purchased it after the last repair was completed, we lucked out because they at least gave us payoff.

I love my 22 ford maverick (first batch) but within the first year of having it and not even having 3,000 miles on it I had the no start no crank issue which SUCKED cause it left me stranded at the gas station and had to call my stepson to jump it off so I could get it home so when I called my dealership they told me they couldn't get me in for about a month and wouldnt provide a rental so thankfully my hubby is super smart and hooked the jumpers from the front battery to the battery under the seat so we could drive it until we got it in so if u have that issue u could do that until getting into the shop. Also we have the conversion issue that once in a blue moon will do that stuttering thing so I let off the pedal and it stops but all in all I absolutely love my truck and well worth the $22,000 we paid for it🥰

It's not even that it's a first-year vehicle... I heard multiple stories about people with new diesel trucks (Ford, RAM, etc) and they get a warning on their display that it will enter Limp Mode in 200 miles (which is limited to 5 mph) if it's not serviced. So they go see the dealer and discover that the DEF pump or something emissions related has failed... but it's on national backorder so they're screwed. They now can't drive their truck. This happened to one guy who was in the middle of a trip, in the middle of nowhere. That is 100% total BS and unacceptable. It's also why I won't own a newer truck with the new emissions crap.

Ford is focused on sales and profit. Doesn't care about after a vehicle is sold. Took my 2016 Escape in for a coolant change (regular maintenance), another recall, and an odd noise at low speeds and was told I need a new engine because coolant was slightly low (engine never overheated) and a new transmission because of bearing noise. The bearing noise turned out to be a rusted out exhaust bracket that would hum at the right frequency and the coolant wasnt never checked during oil changes because a year later it hasnt budged.
I also wouldnt call that a truck its a Ford Escape with a bed. A mini Ridgeline. The B2000, Ranger, S10 were smaller but actually trucks..

The problem with Ford is by not pushing product out the door through aggressive sales practices they have failed to match up well against the Hyundai Santa Cruz in same said market. Having said that being a Ford and not a Hyundai means Fords will still be bought no matter the issues. So far the only "clean" launch Ford has had after a great many the past 2 Years has been the pure BEV Ford Mustang. This should have been a huge win for Ford as true with the Ford Bronco instead Hyundai Kia continues to dominate North American sales and sales growth...all without price gouging their customers.

I just noticed something weird about the inside. At 1:20 I noticed above the passenger door and the two rear seats, there is a Handle that people can grab, to help people with balance issues (such as seniors) in entering or exiting the vehicle. However I didn't see one over the Driver's Seat! Then at 6:30, it's confirmed.... there is no Handle over the driver's seat! That's annoying, as I have Left Leg Problems, so getting in and out is an issue.

Demand dropped very rapidly. But, so did demand for Porsches and they were certainly the fresh hotness. Deflation is always more rapid than inflation. Under inflation, you buy now before it gets more expensive. Under deflation, you wait, because you assume the longer you wait the cheaper it gets. So when the great unwashed populace realizes at the same time that prices are dropping, they all snap their wallet shut, and purchases plummet.
