I am quite amazed at seeing this truck with 80k miles already. I just got my Maverick XLT Hybrid a couple of weeks ago and I really do enjoy it so far. My plan is to mostly use it as a commuter vehicle and the occasional recreational outing. It is good to see 80k on a Maverick and not seeing many mechanical issues with it. Keep up with this great content.

Dude these trucks will be champions in the tuner scene. Once everybody found out these trucks were a perfect match for tunes, engine mods, and a platform that's tailor-made for speed versus off-roading, The floodgates were opened. I just saw a video of a Ford Maverick doing a 12 second quarter mile! Solid!

Biggest con right now is the $10,000 mark up, the selling point is that it’s a versatile but cheap and small truck. They want to sell it at 40k+ and might as well go for the lightning at that point.

Annoys me because I just sold a 2015 explorer with 120k to buy one of these mavericks and I had zero problems with the explorer. All I did is change the brakes, and obviously tires. The bolt holding your front light, take a dremel to it cut it short and paint it black. It'll look clean.

Good things to hear. I have always been a Ford man, but I have been wanting a Tacoma really badly. At 55 years old, I still struggle with how expensive vehicles are now which makes the Tacoma less attractive. Also, my racing days are behind me so I will be happy to get there in comfort. I have had a Fusion for 5 years now and I still love it. This would be a great second.....fourth vehicle.

I have a 2017 fusion hybrid thats near 100k miles and has never had any issues. It was well taken care of as part of a coporate fleet up to about 60k miles. The hybrid maverick is basically a raised fusion hybrid. Despite many ill informed people, the newest eCVT post 2017 don't use belts or chains, and are pretty damn reliable as long as you respect it's not made for acceleration, but for the regenerative braking and getting good mpg.

I just put an order for a 2024 Maverick at my local dealer, and at the time, it was mostly just a stars aligned kinda thing. I went to drop my Escape for a service, and was walking around the lot waiting on my girlfriend. I had told her before we left the house to pick me up before I bought something, but when the salesperson told me I would be the first order at that dealer for 24, I was stoked. I got the AWD XLT in atlas blue with 4k and luxury package, with all weather mats+carpet. Kinda wishing I had sprung for one of the offroad packages, but I figure I can get suspension and other stuff done by myself for a bit cheaper. The only downside I've seen to these truck is the wait. know the 2023 orders take priority over me, but hopefully I can get mine soon, especially since I should be pretty high on my dealership's allocation list. But all said and done, I'm getting mine for roughly $33k OTD

Just bought mine from Carvana. Prices are way down for used ones and they're selling fast.
My 2022 has 1,800 miles for $30,891 OTD (as an XL with copilot 360, eco boost engine, fwd). Vehicle price $27,990. Nonrefundable shipping fee $1,190. Tax, title, registration $1,711.
You might say i can get a brand new one factory order for that price. Yes, technically the new one from the factory is the same price (including tax title and reg) since they jacked up the MSRP and added another dumb Ford fee to the already high destination fee.
BUT if you go factory order you're looking at waiting 6 months for order banks to open and then, what, 6 months to a year to take delivery? F that noise.

This is a great review. I put a deposit on a Mavrick 2022 in December 2021. With the understanding, they could not put the order in until the summer of 2022. So finally, in Sept of 2022, it was put in. Then, an email came in Nov saying everything was going to be delayed.
I would not have to pay the marked up price because I ordered a brand new one from the factory, so I will pay sticker for it.
Built my own truck and got the Hybrid version.
With the metallic blue which I have not seen anyone with that color. Got the XLT because I live in Vegas, and I don't want the leather seats. Just got an email with my build and will begin May 29th, 2023.
Of course, it will be the 2023 model. This was a great review. You do far more with your truck than I plan to do with mine.
You tow things, which I don't plan to do. The only thing I plan is some wood, guns, and mainly street driving.

But you do get a rear locker, a reworked front bumper for better clearance, a 1 inch or so lift and bigger tires. Your stuck with the 2k tow package. Of course, it adds a bunch to the price plus the price increases Ford has added since you purchased yours.

We got our XL hybrid today, overall super happy with it. Luckily we paid MSRP for it and didn't have to wait as my dealer had one at MSRP. I love the FIT 3D print slot, I printed one for the cubby and used a phone mount to mount a QI Wireless Charger with magsafe to keep my phone in place while driving.
The infotainment does froze sometimes with Android Auto. I need to physically remove the USB cable and hook it back up. The MPG on the hybrid is no joke and I read somewhere the engine came from a Prius engine with Ford and Toyota collaboration.
Our bed does not come with protection. We are planning to do a DIY bedliner painting with Herculiner. Hopefully it gives us a better protection for more rugged loads.
Overall, I love mine a lot. For the price, it's a steal given nowadays, for most trucks, the price has been upwards of 30k and 40k even higher for loaded trucks. This is a really good value pickup truck, it works for most use cases.

It's cool hearing from you with all the stuff you've put it through and towed, off road, tons of miles, etc. Mine is mainly a daily driver on road to and from work but I do love it so far. It does check a lot of boxes for everyday use and utility. I put some Morel 6.5" speakers in the front doors to replace the lame stock ones and a Kicker Key 200.4 four channel amp which is just plug and play and adds 200W to the sound system, massive improvement. That was my main gripe with my Maverick even though Ive only had it about 2.5 months and about 900 miles. Overall I'm really impressed and happy with my purchase of the truck. And like you said it just looks good.

@@GGantt-i4p Cool. Then it's a car with a huge trunk and a great towing capacity, without having to give up fuel efficiency. Why does that bother you so much? You seem so angry about this vehicle existing. Nobody is making you buy one. You can drive whatever you want. It's gonna be okay.

    • @cactusjackNV
      @cactusjackNV ปีที่แล้ว

@@TheCharleseye He didn't say it bothered him. But by your lame response It seems he got under your skin. To be fair the Maverick is kind of an SUV with a short bed. These type of vehicles aren't for everybody. If you like it, great. If you don't, that's great also.

Man i'm sold on the Maverick now, just need to wait on order banks to open again so I can't get screwed on the dealership markups right now. I have no need for a full size gas hog like my Tundra nowadays and the main thing is being able to fit a motorcycle in the back or at least tow a trailer and fit up to 4 adults if needed.
